This was our second stay at Palazzo Gamba. We enjoyed our visit to Florence the first time some years ago and the second time was also delightful. Our accommodation at Palazzo Gamba was a key reason why we loved our time in Florence so much. It is literally a few steps from the Duomo and beautifully located to walk to many other attractions in the city. The staff at the hotel are extremely personable and helpful. There are numerous cafes and restaurants close to Palazzo Gamba and it is a short walk from Santa Maria Novella train station and the adjacent bus station. The nearby Central Market is also an amazing place to visit. Looking out the window at night at the lit up Duomo and baptistry and just watching the world go by was sublime. My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending Palazzo Gamba to travellers to Florence.

We loved the location plus the balconies overlooking the duomo. It was just fantastic. Staff was very attentive and we liked that we had housekeeping which we were not expecting that. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Can’t say that there was anything we didn’t like. It’s a beautiful place. If I had to give a negative it would be the living room furniture could use a revamping and the pillows were a bit hard and flat.

Shower is small and dryer was not working

Sarah was incredible. She worked with us on a late check in and found a car for us out of the city after our scheduled driver was in an accident and our car service was unable to find another driver. Forever grateful!

Beds could be a bit more comfortable.

We stayed in the three-bedroom, top floor apartment with a terrace/balcony overlooking the Duomo, the Piazza del Duomo, and the Baptistery of San Giavanni. The location was nothing short of outstanding. And the staff were wonderful and welcoming, particularly Antonio, who also helped us book our rooms.

There was nothing not to like.

Ottima posizione che permette di visitare i principali monumenti e musei senza dover utilizzare i mezzi pubblici. Gli appartamenti sono completi e puliti, sembra quasi di essere a casa propria. Si sente la musica dalla strada ma ci sono stati forniti dei tappi per le orecchie, mai utilizzati in quanto al sesto piano non si sentiva particolarmente. Gli addetti alla reception sono stati gentilissimi e disponibili.

Probably one of the best apartments I've rented (specially for the price). The rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living room are all great and you have an absolutely stunning view from your balcony of the Duomo. The area has everything you might need and is walking distance from everywhere. 100% recommended!!

Location was incredible. Roof top patio over looked the Duomo. Great place to drink wine and watch the sunset. The elevator was great to have while staying on the 7th floor.

EVERYTHING IS JUST PERFECT!

This property was exceptionally clean and located in an excellent setting. The shower pressure was the best we experienced during our trip. The Wi-Fi was reliable. The beds were comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the air conditioning was not effective. We were unable to lower the room temperature below 28.7 degrees Celsius. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

The location was ideal. It was a beautiful spacious apartment. Immaculately clean and so comfortable. I could have easily moved into this place. Great and helpful staff. I highly recommend anyone with family to stay here.

The view! I was breathless when I saw the proximity from our window to the Duomo cathedral walls. Unbeatable. Also, the apartment rooms and common area were very large. Great service by the staff as well. Absolutely no complaints.

Al menos nuestra habitación, no tenia ventanas. Las “exteriores” eran dos huecos en la cornisa. Las interiores daban a un mini patio lleno de aires acondicionados con un ruido y temperaturas terribles.

J'avais loué un appartement avec 2 salles de bains. En fait la 2ème n'avait ni douche ni baignoire. L'appartement était très sombre.

Location and easy access.

Slightly outdated but added to the charm of Firenze. If you want a quiet location this is not it… the amazing street performances keep you entertained throughout the day which is just amazing with a glass of wine.

Location could not have been better, literally right across from the Duomo. Large apartment, great views, nicely appointed and staffed.

Only modest downside was that due to location, there were singing groups playing Italian and modern classics as well as street dancing from around 8 or 9pm until 10 or 11pm most nights. While I can't really complain as we were on vacation, it was a bit noisy. The hotel was nice enough to provide earplugs, so it wasn't too bad.

Everything about this place was so lovely. The view was spectacular and the communication before and during was exceptional. We ended up checking in very late and they were so accommodating. We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant just down below and being right next to the Duomo was thrilling. Can't say enough good things about this location!

Great location! Very hospitable and welcoming staff. The apartment was spacious and having two bathrooms in our 2BR apartment was awesome. The AC was excellent for June in Florence.

The queen sized bed in one bedroom was not comfortable, but the quality bed linens and pillows made up for the mattress. We had a problem with one shower door which was fixed within two days, but that was half our stay so that was a bummer. Also, there was always a lingering smoke smell in the stairwell coming from the second floor, which can be bothersome for non-smokers.

People party and are noisy to almost midnight down in the plaza and streets, so don’t plan on going to sleep early.

The property was steps away from the Duomo and was easy walking distance to shopping and historical parts of the city. They did tidy up everyday.

Even though it was close to things, it was also very loud! We could hear loud music and people hollering and partying till the wee hours of the morning. One night even until 4AM! Also the place and furniture was worn and could have used an upgrade.

Location. Above all else, the location is simply outstanding. The view of the Florence Cathedral and the Baptistery of Saint John from the room is something I still haven't forgotten. The price is also very reasonable considering the location. The apartment itself is incredibly spacious and comfortable—far larger than a typical hotel room. Having two bathrooms was another major advantage, making it much easier for everyone to get ready in the morning. I also appreciated the security, with a double-locked entrance that made us feel very safe throughout our stay.

On the first night, the electricity stopped working because a circuit breaker had tripped. However, the staff responded very quickly early the next morning and resolved the issue without delay. The shower area felt surprisingly small compared to the overall size of the apartment. That said, the overall experience was so positive that this minor inconvenience was easy to overlook. We were extremely satisfied with our stay.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was beautiful and located in a prime location. The view from the two balconies were amazing and the apartment was spacious and equipped. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There is a small elevator for those with mobility issues or traveling with heavy bags. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in the heart of Firenze!

Everything was perfect

This property was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted a vacation that felt like we were living in Florence and Palazzo Gamba delivered! Antonio, Sarah and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating! We left feeling like we had made new friends! If you want to stay in the heart of Florence, you simply cannot find a better spot! We looked out our window onto the piazza constantly and the opera singing and classical guitar music wafted into our room until late in the night! I liked the room so much I got a tattoo of the window!!! It was like two weeks of living in an Italian dream!

While it didn’t bother us in the least, it can be quite noise with revelers outside the window. I looked out onto the piazza at 2:30 in the morning one evening and saw about 20 foreigner exchange students celebrating the end of their semester while racing electric bikes in laps around the baptistery! Again, for us it just added to the ambience, but for some, the din could be a challenge.

No better location than right across from the Duomo!

Our apartment was a dichotomy of bedrooms; one grand, beautiful space with a balcony and the best aspect of St Maria Fiori, a bedroom to luxuriate in and live the tourist dream of la dolce vita. The other was a comfy bed in a smallish room overlooking a plain street. The specific apartment Raffaello would better serve one couple alone or with 1-2 children. It’s a lovely place for foreign tourists to experience Firenze because it is truly reflective of Italian style. The staff were all delightful and couldn’t be more helpful.

The kitchenette is tired. Guests are unlikely to eat proper meals in the apartment because of the location and plentiful restaurants but the microwave could be nicer and the crockery more plentiful.

Un pequeño hotel muy ilndo, con una ubicación inmejorable frente al Duomo. Excelente ubicación en el centro y fácil de llegar a todos lados. Tiene todo muy limpio.

위치가 피렌체대성당 바로 옆이라 위치는 좋지만 특히 밤에 엄청 시끄러워요.

새벽까지 시끄러워 3일내내 잠을 잘못잤습니다. 밤11시까지 바로옆 성당에서 끊임없이 버스킹을 하고 그 이후에도 취객들이 노래부르고 싸우고 새벽까지 매일 시끄러웠습니다. 우리는 시차때문에 일찍자고 일찍일어나는데 3일내내 여행의 컨디션이 엉망이었습니다. 저는 시끄럽거나 밝아도 잠을 잘자고 예민하지 않은데도 소음은 참을수가 없는 정도였어요. 호텔1 층에 소음은 호텔측에서 해결할수 없으니 경찰에 신고하라고 적혀있고 밤 12시쯤 경찰에 전화했더니 인력이 없어 도와줄수 없다고 하네요. 비엔나와 로마를 거쳐 왔는데 처음겪는 소음에 고통스러웠습니다. 저는 리뷰를 귀찮아서 쓰지않는데 보통은 큰맘먹고 먼 여행을 계확할때 이런일은 생각못할것아 적어봅니다.

La ubicación es de lo mejor, al pie del Duomo de Florencia, si bien puede haber un poco de ruido, pero por lo menos para nosotros fue imperceptible. Las instalaciones también nos gustaron mucho, el hecho que tenga cocina, nos permitió hacernos varios desayunos.

En lo personal la ducha estaba un poco estrecha, para mi que mido un poco más de 1.80m, siendo el baño amplio se lo pudo haber aprovechado un poco mejor.

Everything about this stay was fantastic. The location can't be beat, the apartment is well appointed and comfortable, and the view of the Duomo is incomparable. The staff was very accommodating and communicative. I broke my foot the day before. They were instrumental in helping us find a mobility scooter and helped coordinate delivery so I wasn't stuck in the apartment for 3 straight days. Not that it would have been terrible because the apartment was very comfortable. They also helped arrange getting a taxi to the door (the apt is in a pedestrian only area) because of my injury and was kind enough to give us a little extra time to check out because I was not able to move quickly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ... and will definitely stay again when I have my do-over trip after my foot heals.

I was very sad not to be able to use the huge bathtub because I was in a cast - but that's not their fault. Otherwise, this stay was perfect.

Location was fantastic! A short walk from the train station. Near to the Duomo Cathedral, restaurants, shops and just a short walk to the Ponte Vecchia. The staff were incredibly helpful.

The property is fantastic, however as the location is in a bustling area, some noise at night is expected.

Excellent location and beautiful high ceilinged rooms. Antonio the reception guy was great - especially when the electricity cut out. He was very helpful in dealing with the Restricted Traffic Zone tax and finding a parking place. Nice touches in the room - bottle of chianti, water in the fridge, Olive oil, nice toiletries, good air conditioning. A bit more like a nice hotel than a rental

As its in the centre, its pretty noisy at night,. Even though we were on the 5th floor, (there is an elevator!!), the windows were single glazed so don't cut out the noise. Also the electric sockets are all the old 3 pin Italian type so you need adaptors for normal European plugs. Only one socket in the kitchen area
