He de destacar l'atenció extraordinaria de Peter i en un castellà perfecte, tot són atencions i bona predisposició cap a nosaltres. El lloc on està situat es perfecte amb excelents vistes del fort i a 3 min. Caminant de la porta d'entrada. L'hotel està fet amb molta gràcia i es molt bonic, les habitacions grans i molt ben decorades. Es molt bonic!

This was a fabulous gem just outside the fort walls. Rooms are large, elegant and comfortable. Food is excellent and served on the rooftop with a gorgeous view of the fort. What really sets this hotel apart is the phenomenal service. Everyone you encounter here seems completely focused on ensuring that your stay is as perfect as it can be. Little touches from the excellent breakfasts to advice on where to go to mosquito repellent offered if they see you swat even one insect at dinner, all make you happy you picked this place. Stay here, you will not regret it.

This is a fantastically located hotel close to the gate into the Jaisalmer fort. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even (unasked) provided us with a packed lunch for our journey on the day we left. Best of all is the rooftop restaurant serving excellent Italian and Indian food and with stunning views of the fort. I highly recommend this hotel.

Buena ubicación, a 5 minutos andado de la entrada del fuerte. Personal muy atento, siempre preguntando qué tal, dándonos agua y comida, incluso nos dieron una bolsa para el viaje. Muy bueno el chai massala. Habitaciones limpias y cómodas.

The hotel was well located next to Fort, The facilities were great mineral water help your self and lots of little extras that made the stay.the breakfast was excellent with so much choice The roof top terrace/restaurant/bar was great and the food was excellent cooked fresh We also had a balcony which was lovely and picture is the room we stayed in I would definitely stay here again

I'm putting this down its not a criticism but the bathroom was a little tired was clean but there were stains in the concrete floor and hard water buildup on flush on toilet

Comfortable, clean, warm and professional service. The hotel is very well located, there is a great terrace restaurant with very good Italian food! Pizza thin and crunchy! The management is impeccable and everyone friendly. Highly recommended.

The location is great: right at the walls of the fort yet feels like a safe haven. The staff are very friendly and communicative, always helping wherever and whenever they can. The restaurant on top of the hotel has fantastic views and serves great vegetarian food. If you need a break from Indian cuisine, you’ll love their pizza. They have two sweet small dogs on the property that are very friendly. For those who speak Spanish, they even have staff who speak it perfectly.

This was outstanding for the price. Lovely room with private terrace overlooking the courtyard. Fantastic location with a view of the fort. Food and snacks included. Unsolicited lunchpack provided to us on our departure for our car journey to Jodhpur. Friendly staff.

Très bel hôtel le plus beau que nous ayons eu au Rajasthan . personnel très pro et amical , très bon petit déjeuner , repas du soir excellent malai kofta à tomber , jus de fruits délicieux , nombreux endroits où se poser . Zeer aangename ontvangst en mooie kamer. Pluspunt is tevens dat er op de kamer snacks en dranken voorzien worden die in de kamerprijs zijn inbegrepen. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid. Zeer gunstige ligging. Bij het uitchecken kregen we zelfs een maaltijdpakketje aangeboden terwijl wij al hadden ontbeten. Het hotel beschikt over een goed rooftop-restaurant.

Beautiful hotel at a great location by the Fort. And the staff were simply amazing- friendly, helpful, courteous and could not have done more to make us feel welcome . They were so helpful and flexible given I arrived feeling unwell - they really helped me when I needed them . The room was comfortable and clean with our own private outside space if you wanted some peaceful time, or there are plenty of pretty places to sit around the hotel and enjoy a good cup of coffee with their delightful homemade cake which I definitely recommend! Thankyou

Truly a wonderful property with an incredibly welcoming staff that always went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. I must mention a special shout out to hotel mascots, the dogs KK and Simba, their comfort and relaxation showed us that we were in for a great time here! Thank you to all for making our stay so incredible and being genuine people that were always open for some lovely conversations. We are sure to be recommending this place to all of our friends that wish to visit Jaisalmer!

I really can't recommend this place enough! We spent 3 weeks travelling across numerous Indian cities and this was our favourite hotel...beating 5star ones hands down! It's located right beside the gate to the Fort, but it's not noisy at night. The food was exceptional at breakfast, lavazza coffee and fresh orange juice and loads to choose from! The Pyaaz Kachori and Bhaji Poori are amazing! The restaurant boasts Italian and the pizza and pasta are good for India but personally as a european I peferred the Indian food as it was really good! They have a fabulous rooftop restaurant where you can sip a cold beer or glass of wine and enjoy the view of the oldest living fortress city. The rooms are really lovely, very luxurious with the softest beds we slept in the whole holiday. Double sinks, great water pressure in the double shower! And everything in the room and mini bar is complimentary with endless free water and soft drinks, tea coffee etc in the room! But I think it's the staff who run it make it so enjoyable...The guy in the restaurant is so professional...he never took our order down and remembered it all perfectly and we were a party of 7!! And they organised a desert Camel trip for us as well as taxis and they were really well priced! And when we were leaving to go to the airport they gave us a packed lunch to take with us! So thoughtful! I would highly recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting Jaisalmer!

Great location at the entrance to the fort. Very comfortable beds. Staff are so amazing, offering free masala chai and water to make you comfortable. Even gave us a packed lunch for our onward journey! Genuinely made to feel do welcome. Rooftop restaurant has good food, comfortable seats and a great view of the fort, especially in the evening. Breakfast is great. Loved the kachori and puri bhaii! And espresso coffee! My sons used the gym which was well equpped.

This is a very easy review to write:  1st gate is 1st class!  The hotel is graded as a 3 star, but it most definitely has the charm, service, location and customer care of any (of the many) 5 star hotels in which we have stayed in our travels to India. Jaisalmer is a special city, small and 'human-sized', built of glorious golden sandstone; rising handsomely out of the desert. 1st gate is the perfect place to explore its magical backstreets, full of intricately carved houses and airy havelis.  The hotel is built in a just such a traditional style and sits in a prime location, right opposite the majestic fort, which provides an unforgettable backdrop for the excellent dining at the rooftop restaurant. The interior is carefully designed to reflect the traditional colours and fabrics of the area and is a pleasure to return to after a busy day of exploration - in the city or in the desert beyond it. The staff are the crowning glory here. Manish has created a lovely hotel and Peter is a first class manager. Nothing is too much trouble. His recommendation for a half day tour to the desert was spot-on, including the thoughtful gift of a lunch to ensure we were well prepared. Water bottles are handed out every time you leave the building; a picnic lunch for our onward flight was another charming element of customer care. Endroit exceptionnel !!! Notre coup de coeur du Rajasthan !!!!!!! Le.personnel est remarquable (les plus expérimentés comme ceux en formation d’ailleurs !) : merci à tous pour leur accueil chaleureux. La chambre splendide ! Rien à redire : grand confort ! La cuisine est également savoureuse.

Juste à partager, lors de notre diner, un groupe de musiciens était présent, c'était très agréable. Cependant, à fin de leur représentation, les musiciens ont fait le tour des tables pour une pièce. Nous étions très ́gênés car nous étions venus diner sur la terrasse sans un brin de monnaie.

The room is super soothing and the bed is beyond comfortable. We loved the location, the complimentary all day chai, and the attention to details within the room itself. The view from the rooftop is unparalleled to any other.

We stayed in room 13 which is located just below the rooftop restaurant. All night until closing, you can hear the chairs and/or tables being pushed along the floor. It’s quite a loud and unpleasant noise. Towels could be upgraded.

La situation est parfaite au pied du fort, à proximité des magnifiques havelis et entouré de restaurants. Le confort est bien, , notre salle de bain était d'un style un peu spécial et pas parfaitement propre mais dans l'ensemble le confort était satisfaisant. The hotel is very well located. The decoration is nice, but needs refreshing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice rood top.

The room was dirty, which made the stay not very pleasant. The Massage is way too expensive for the quality you get. Or prices drop or I can't recommend it. The furniture in the hotel is old and dusty. The hotel is way too expensive for its quality. In Europe you get really beautiful hotels for less of the price of this hotel. Desapointing.

One of the best properties I’ve stayed at in India - possibly anywhere. The location is great right next to the fort. The property is stunning - it feels like a luxurious resort while still keeping an authentic charm, staff was excellent!

Friendly, attentive staff who genuinely go the extra mile. They even packed sandwiches for our onward trip, which was such a thoughtful touch. The restaurant is excellent, honestly the best food we had anywhere in Rajasthan, and the views are just as impressive. We had a small issue with the first room, which they handled well by upgrading us to a fort-view room. Breakfast is extraordinary, and the in-room snacks were a nice bonus. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful throughout, sometimes almost too attentive, but always well-intentioned and eager to help. The non touristic safari arranged was fine overall, though details around the format and logistics could have been more clearer

We did have to change rooms because the AC in the first room was quite noisy. In the second room, there were some hot cold water fluctuations during shower, and since the room is outside the fort it can be noisy and a bit chaotic. That said, the noise drops significantly after about 10 pm and did not affect our sleep much. Cars can only access the area during certain windows, but the staff handled this beautifully by sending a tuk tuk to collect our luggage, which was awesome.

Restaurant gut und mit Blick auf die Burg, Inhaber sehr freundlich und gute Küche. Architektur fantastisch und einmalig - kein Haveli, aber modernisierte Version davon, klare Linien und Formen mit zurückhaltenden Farben.

Lärm in der ersten Nacht ohne Verschulden des Hotels; als Ausgleich bekamen wir ein upgrade. Die Gym enthält zum Teil Geräte, die nicht mehr funktionieren. Dies aber ein kleiner Punkt angesichts der wunderbaren Architektur und Gesamteindrucks des Hauses.

The property might be a challenge for older guests. My parent's room was on a higher floor - and there was no elevator. So it was a difficult for them to go up and down the stairs. Older guests should request for a room on the lower floors ahead of time.

Peter and his staff were very attentive and so welcoming. This made our stay really exceptional. The rooftop restaurant was definitely a favorite spot to eat and to relax.

Attention aux magouilles ! Même si l’hôtel est agréable et bien situé, soyez vigilants : les frais surprises arrivent aussi vite que les tuk-tuks dans la rue. Amis de la carte bancaire, méfiez-vous des frais supplémentaires qui s’ajoutent aux paiements. Amis du cash, préparez-vous aux négociations commerciales. Ne vous laissez pas non plus séduire par les « réductions » proposées par le patron si vous souhaitez prolonger votre séjour : elles ne fonctionnent qu’en liquide… par carte, oubliez ! Attendez-vous aussi à payer des taxes pour tout, même pour faire laver vos vêtements après une superbe randonnée dans le désert. Et dernier point : ne demandez surtout pas au restaurant quel plat ils vous conseillent. Serveurs comme patron vous recommanderont toujours les plats les plus chers, avec en désert, un mal de ventre sucré et rafraîchissant.

The staff takes utmost care of every small things , they are the best in town , they helped me park my car , help me take out my kitten from car . The rooms are very spacious and with the fluffiest bed which comforts you after a days tour . Special mention to lakshya , pankaj ji and staff who took care of everything , the food is very good the pizza and pasta are outstanding and the regular vegetarian options are good as well , a whole 10:10 on everything hygiene , courteous staff , spacious rooms and proximity to monuments and market . It’s the people and the staff that wins heart and they are the best lot here.

There is nothing bad at the property, but yes parking can be improved however since it’s in the middle of market and so close to the biggest tourist attraction it’s not possible.

I had the most wonderful stay at 1st Gate. The rooms are gorgeous: spacious, beautifully designed, and comfortable. The hotel is probably the best located in the city, with an absolutely stunning view of the fort. I won’t spoil the surprise, but the amenities are exceptional: rooftop, pool, gym, patio. The service is outstanding; I felt looked after at every moment. I had initially booked one night at 1st gate and one in the desert, but I ended up cancelling the latter to extend my stay.

Best hotel experience you can think of I wouldn t go anywhere else if i were to come to Jaisalmer. Staff, breakfast, Dinner, room, everything was Just perfect.

I found both the hotel and my room absolutely beautiful and full of character and charm. It is quite unique, and all the decoration and objects inside are very authentic and have been carefully curated. The staff - especially Peter and Sam - are outstanding and could not do enough to look after me and make me feel welcome. The service is so warm and personal and friendly. The location is brilliant, just outside the fort but away from all the noise and action inside. Great breakfast and lovely rooftop restaurant with a gorgeous view of the fort.

This hotel was such a find. The hotel itself is really well located, close to the fort entrance. We had a lovely room with a small balcony overlooking the inner courtyard. There was absolutely nothing to fault about this property. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, even providing us with a snack bag for our onward journey. The breakfast was the best that we had during our stay in India, with freshly squeezed juice and the most scrumptious Poha cooked to order. The hotel also had a rooftop terrace with lots of comfy seating and stunning views across to the fort—great place for a beer and a bite to eat after seeing the sights.

The property is 2 minutes walking to the fort so the location cannot be exceeded. The best part for me was the staff. They were friendly, and accommodating and made me feel so welcome.

Absolutely nothing! I only wish I had stayed longer. There is a courtyard for relaxing and a wonderful rooftop restaurant.

Das war unser mit Abstand schönster Aufenthalt in Jaisalmer. Das Personal war unheimlich freundlich und hat einem wirklich das Gefühl gegeben, zu Hause angekommen zu sein. Den ganzen Tag Obst und frischer Chai wenn einem danach war, die Organisation einer wirklich schönen Wüstensafari und sogar ein Essenpaket wurde uns für unseren Ausflug gepackt. Wir waren wirklich rund um begeistert! Zimmer, Frühstück, Fitnessbereich, Pool alles toll. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Made to feel very welcome from arrival through to departure. Everything was brilliant. Lovely spacious room , good nights sleep. Breakfast was really fresh and great quality with plenty of choices. Return trip after a night at a desert camp. Staff went above and beyond to get us the room that we wanted with the best fort view. We arrived before check in time and were treated to a complimentary lunch in the roof top restaurant. On departure, staff made sure we had plenty of water for our road trip and even packed us a lunch. Would definitely stay here again, largely for the location, but mainly for the excellent service.

Simply very well managed and run in every way imagined. Loved our stay here. Would recommend to everybody to bake this a 1st Choice. I"ll stay again next time. Big thanks to every staff and manager in 1st Fusion.

Very convenient location. Best view is from the roof top restaurant, but breakfast isn’t served there. Owners kept our luggage free of charge for one night while we headed to the desert. Food was quite good, breakfast had great local fresh options.

We had a wonderful stay at First Gate. The location is great because it is right opposite the Jaisalmer fort. You can walk from the hotel to the fort. The market is also walking distance. Fantastic location! As for the property, it's truly wonderful. The exterior has a yellow sandstone, rustic look but the interior is fully modernized. The room had a nice living area (with a couch, coffee table and TV), a spacious bathroom and a bedroom (with a double bed and appliances). The property also has a rooftop hotel that overlooks the fort ; we had dinner here one night and the experience was excellent. The amenities in the room were pretty good too (bathrobes, coffee maker, refrigerator etc). The property also offers breakfast which has traditional Indian and also continental options. They also have all day snacks and coffee/tea/lemonade at the breakfast area. The staff was really nice and friendly. The helped us book reliable transportation to Udaipur (at an extra cost) and also packed us sandwiches and water for our onward trip. I would highly recommend this property. It's clean, safe, quiet and has great amenities.

The hotel was very clean. The food available was fantastic and very varied including local Rajasthan dishes. Our room had an upstairs sitting area with a view of the fort. Whilst everything was perfect the best part were the staff from the guy who made my Indian breakfast to the manager who gave us sandwiches when we left. We were only able to eat one evening at the hotel but the food, service and view of the Fort was perfect. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff.

When greeted at 1st Gate Home Fusion, we were told that we may have arrived as guests but we will leave as someone a part of their family and they couldn’t have put it better. Everything about this place is so homely, from the vibe, the staff and the décor. When deciding to choose a place to stay at Jaisalmer we were torn between inside the fort or outside and owing several reasons we chose the latter and glad we were to do so. Located just outside the fort entrance, 1st Gate Home Fusion has the incredible advantage of location-you can choose to walk to the fort for a sunset and sunrise or head out to the several places in Jaisalmer. The rooms here receive a special mention-no two rooms are alike when it comes to décor, extremely tasteful and eye pleasing, with larger windows, unlike most places to stay at Jaisalmer. There is a gym, several seating areas, a pool and a very friendly dog, Simba! The breakfast is good and the unlimited tea and coffee and cookies, cake and water bottles are a splendid addition. The reviews that we read mentioned about the Italian restaurant being the best in Jaisalmer and it is entirely true. They serve Italian, Indian and some Rajasthani delights too. If there, do try out their special coffee! I must mention the courteousness of the owner who proposed to pack us food when we were leaving for the airport after a hearty lunch there although we had checked out a day earlier to stay at a desert camp. Highly recommended!

The hotel looks lovely and is ideally situated. Close to the Jaisalmer fort and walking distance to other sites. Food especially the pizzas was good… it is a veg hotel though! Beautifully designed rooms and sit outs . Very friendly staff. Sumptuous breakfast . Overall excellent!!
