This is my regular place to stay in Liverpool. Nice big rooms with everything I need. Wonderful staff and great location.

Very clean hotel, staff super friendly and helpful.

There’s no windows in some rooms and that was the case of mine, so it smells a bit moldy. But again, the room was very clean so no complaints.

I like the location, the well behaved staff members and the facilities provided in the room.

We were i room 205. So 2 storys below ground level This was not a problem as we are able. The down side is that the room had a musty smell, temperature was boiling hot as the room is maybe 6x10ft. Again the size of the room does not bother us, just like Japan :) However being underground the heat is unbearable, and the aircon in room 205 was not working. The Blades move but no cold air, and not even the fan mode worked. It is an office based aircon unit, which would cool the room adequately... if it worked. The ensuite was perfect apart from the shower drainage. The floor flooded after a few mins. But again, ensuite is perfect for what we needed. We where only there one night as we are visiting to get our son settled for Uni.

Unreliable WiFi connection and there’s no service cause you’re on floors -1 or -2. Constant noise from a machine (must be in the facilities) makes it nearly impossible to sleep

All of it , was so welcoming . Dan kept us entertained till early hours with his chat and banter . Lovely lad made us feel like we was at home

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great location. Comfy beds, tv right infront of you in bed. Nice to have hot chocolate aswel as tea and coffee. They make it very clear that there are no windows so no false advertisements. Good value for money. Would stay again.

A polite and friendly receptionist was a welcoming first impression.Also had a great conversation with gentlemen called paul who i think works there was just brillant.Allowed me to check an hour early (many Thanks ) The room was great just what i needed , the bed was so comfortable

Proximity to city centre, cheap but for a reason.

Dirty air con unit above the bed spat dust and debris all over the place turned off due to it making loud noises only for it to randomly make the same noise intermittently throughout the night clearly not serviced or cleaned. Hotel was noisy until early morning constant opening and closing of doors and slamming. Electrical cupboard on corridor left propped open with a plastic cone and excessive heat coming from inside despite the door clearly saying fire door. Staff none engaging and don’t make you feel welcome on checkin and same again for checkout. I wouldn’t stay again.

Extremely disappointing experience at Podworks Hotel. There was no hot water from the shower in our room. A receptionist came to the room, tested it himself and witnessed the problem, yet said they could not do anything about it. Apparently after us complaining he called the handyman who refused to attend and instead claimed remotely that we must have been operating the shower incorrectly. As the hotel was apparently fully booked and the manager was off, we were offered no solution: no repair, refund, alternative accommodation or access to another shower. We spent a significant part of the day repeatedly chasing reception instead of enjoying our holiday. We had travelled to Liverpool to celebrate my partner’s birthday, but the first day of our holiday was completely ruined by the inconvenience, stress and time wasted trying to resolve what should have been a straightforward issue. The following day, the hotel finally moved us to another room with a working shower. While this resolved the problem for the remainder of our stay, it did not make up for being left without a basic facility in the original room or for the disruption caused. We subsequently requested reasonable compensation, but the hotel refused to offer anything. Faults can happen, but the way a hotel responds is what matters. Being dismissed, left without a usable shower and then refused any recognition of the inconvenience made this a very poor experience. I would not stay here again, and I would certainly not recommend it.

My room has no window as most rooms are on the lower level. Noise was tolerable. The key card needed resetting everyday.

The smaller rooms were actually quite cost, it was very cheap and the staff were nice

Bedsheets and towels were stained, i stayed over with a friend and her room reeked of damp/mould, she asked to swap to a different room but every key she was given the room smelled exactly the same, it was one entire half of the building, i stayed on the other half and my room smelled fine, so you’re basically gambling on that

It was conveniently located and very accommodating of us checking in early

That at 10.30am the cleaners were knocking on the door telling us we needed to get out when the booking states check out between 1030 and 11am.

Clean, wonderful location, friendly staff, room had everything you need for a one night stay. Would stay again.

The room stank like a toilet, the smell was outside the room. The smell was every where e.g. in stair well. Constant noise all through the night. The noise was not form other residents. It was electrical. Air con did not work.

Exactly what I was looking for, clean room, 24 hour reception, easy check-in/check-out. Excellent value for city centre location. Bed was comfortable and having tea/coffee making facilities was very welcome.

A damp smell permeated the hall, sewage type smell.

Noisy pipes when the shower or sink ran. Thin walls and very easy to hear other guests.

Had a real damp smell to the room, overpowering at times. WiFi didn’t reach or work at all for the most part which was disappointing.

We stayed in a room without a window, but unfortunately the smell in the room was absolutely terrible. It was almost like a bad sewer smell. The bed also was not very comfortable, the mattress was very thin and the base was made out of wooden slats. Room 101 really needs looking at.

Personally, I don't understand negative comments. Price was adequate to the quality of the place. If I would like to stay in luxury hotel and spend a lot of money I would just book H hotel 5min away. I wanted a cheap accommodation with bathroom and shower in a good location and it's exactly what I got. We interacted with 3 members of personel in the reception and all were very friendly. Room was small, but ok, comfy matress, we didn't use air con. We were able to leave luggage for few hours free of charge after check out

It takes a while to get warm water in the shower and sometimes the smell on the corridor is not pleasant, but the rest was ok.

La habitación no tenía ventanas, era extremadamente pequeña y olía constantemente a moho y humedad. Además, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba. Cuando se lo dijimos al chico de recepción, simplemente nos dijo que no funcionaba y nos dio una pequeña maquina calefactora que hizo que se disparara la alarma de incendios en la madrugada. No nos ofreció cambiar de habitación ni ninguna otra solución alternativa. La humedad era todavía peor al ducharnos. Al no haber una ventilación adecuada, toda la habitación se quedaba extremadamente húmeda. Incluso el papel higiénico y las sábanas de la cama se sentían mojados después. Las habitaciones están situadas en un sótano y, en cuanto empiezas a bajar las escaleras, se puede percibir un fuerte olor que combina el alcantarillado con un ambientador artificial de vainilla, lo cual resultaba bastante desagradable. Sí, la ubicación está cerca del centro de la ciudad, pero para nosotros eso no compensa en absoluto las pésimas condiciones de la habitación. No volveríamos a alojarnos aquí, ni siquiera aunque nos pagaran por hacerlo.

The smell in the hall and stairs, like a nappy bin! Room itself smelt of damp (it’s a basement). Shelf over sink makes it hard to brush your teeth?! Shower was weak.

Staff member allowed a stranger to wait in the bar for me and check if I was in my room multiple times while I was out and then confirmed me staying and my room number on the phone and allowed the person access to my room

Dirty and disgusting - pubes all throughout the bedding which was also stained and ripped. Mattress was rock hard and squeaky, the floor was dusty and visibly dirty. The toilet was hanging off the wall and a plug socket was ductaped over and poked through as if it was safe to use still? Had nowhere else to go as we arrived in the middle of the night after a flight and have been thoroughly disappointed by both booking.com’s handling of this and the hotel’s refusal to answer any calls from them to try and arrange a refund. DO NOT BOOK HERE

I used to use this hotel all the time and never had a complaint, however it has gone downhill massively. The beds are very hard, the pillows are ridiculous.. one pillow which is very hard and thin. I've come away with a bad neck. We asked for a spare softer pillow and got told by the night manager they didn't have any (hard to believe a hotel wouldn't have any spare pillows) The next day we asked the woman on shift and she made sure we got one, however it was no improvement, just another hard one to add to it. So as a result I'm now in a lot of pain. The side of the bed frame is peeling and splintering which hurt when I caught my foot on it. Toilet seat loose and moved about constantly. Hallways smelled like walking into an unclean bathroom. Under the tap on sink was an old booger, and shower tiles were falling off from water damage. Could have been cleaner. There should be a lamp or option to turn off the spotlight above the bed as it was so bright and hurt our eyes. There were gaps in the door so you could hear everything outside and the sound of some sort of pump going all day and all night. Two nights there and we've both come away tired and sore. The morning we were checking out, we were getting ready to leave. Checkout is 11am and about 10 minutes before our checkout time the guy on reception came down and started knocking on every door rushing everyone out. Absolutely ridiculous. All in all, wouldn't come back and very disappointed.

The height of the bed

Room was clean and comfortable. The room was really well thought out for the size of it. Has loads of storage for a pod room. Staff were great and helpfull.

Musty damp smell. Didn’t feel clean. 3x usual price because of demand during graduation week (£150 per night compared to £48 per night the following week). Only Booked this to stay after a graduation celebration night out as getting a taxi home when England were playing in World Cup would have been difficult and expensive. Would have preferred to get the bus home.

Location was really good. Able to drop luggage off early and leave for later collection on departure day.

Stayed in room 201. No previous reviews have mentioned this so it may be isolated to this room only. Can only be described as running water / drains emptying all night. The sound of constant washing water happened all night making it impossible to sleep, not entirely sure what or where the water noise was coming from but it was horrendous.

The air conditioning was incredibly noisy. We noticed a leak in the main cupboard which we reported to reception. Our unit in the room became too noisy to sleep during the night. Reception moved us to another room and the same happened again. We were then moved to another part of the building which was much better. We eventually managed to get to sleep around 5am. This had quite an impact on our day as we woke up late and were both tired. Cannot fault the helpfulness of the guy on reception. Other than this the stay was good.

You have to accept that your room will be windowless. After that, the hotel offers clean and comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. The rooms are small but contain everything you need.

Got a room the air con didnt work and no remote for tv also offered a room that wasnt anything like we ordered, ended up in a room the bathroom sink didnt work but everything else did, i cant praise both members of staff enough they were amazing...... the gentleman that was the night porter and the guy before went above and beyond and cant thank them enough, we were provided refreshments as we didnt have water to re hydrate in the room with sink not working, with the understanding that things can break at short notice, nothing was checked or noted for the hotel not to have that issue and the understanding that england were also playing me and my partner havent done anything in the ladt 3 years with working commitments, it could off destroyed the final day we had but the staff were unbeliveable and want to show them the reconigtion they deserve and made our stay comfortable

Lovely wee hotel and for such a great price! They have aircon/heatpumps in the rooms which is an absolute blessing in this weather. The room was cosy and had a comfy bed, it was perfect for my 3 night stay in Liverpool and had everything I could possibly need. My room had no windows, which was outlined in the listing, and I actually thought this was great because I had a best sleep ever without the sun waking me up and no loud noises from the street! The hotel workers were also super lovely and helpful!
