Dinner was excellent, breakfast was not as good. Scrambled eggs were not freshly prepared and were rather dry and tasteless.

It was close to the train station & the attractions. The continental breakfast included juices, smoked salmon and capers, fresh mini croissants, cut melon and watermelon and pineapple, usually fresh blueberries and strawberries or grapes, different cheeses, breads, cereals, and coffee machines to make multiple different styles of coffee.

It’s fairly dated and needs renovating. The caulking around the tub was full of black mold. The handicap grip in the shower was loose on the wall. The casing around the shower curtain rod attachment was loose. I found empty cans of Guinness in my room when I arrived.

Reception closes early and had to knock to get back into hotel. If you are expecting to stay out late I wouldn’t book here. The key cards also malfunction often.

The stay was excellent.

All the staff were incredibly helpful and nice.

There was an annual car rally happening when we arrived. 300 cars prevented us from reaching the hotel fiat an hour. This was not the property’s fault and nothing could have been done to prevent it from happening. Once the rally ended everything was great.

It was a great location and a very unique place. Parking was a super huge bonus

For the value… the room was very old and not overly clean. We had slightly damp clothes that we needed to dr, so we hung them in the closet. We decided to use the portable fan to assist drying. The dust and dirt that flew off the fan was all over the room and stuck to the carpet. It was a lot of money for this place.

The location was perfect, as it's so close to the bus stop for Airport drop off and pick up and close to town . Friendly staff. The bed was comfortable.

The hotel reception was very nice but once I got out of the lift I felt the hallways and the room were very tired and in desperate need of decorating and carpets needed to be replaced throughout. It.The dark wood furniture in the room felt very sticky to touch. The hairdryer was caked in makeup and sticky. Had to ask for shower/hair gel as the bottle was empty but didn't know until under the shower so had to use the hand soap first morning. The room was very noisy. I was kept awake until 3.30am with the outside noise even though the window was closed which made the room very stuffy. No air con unit. Breakfast was OK for the money and the breakfast room was very nice, however, the fruit basket had rotten apples and mouldy oranges in it!

Breakfast was very unsatisfactory. The scrambled egg was unedible due to the unacceptable smell of the eggs. Clearly cross- contaminated with some other food - possibly smoked salmon. The food was sent back because it was not safe to eat.

Attitude of the management concerning the unedible scrambled eggs. I wasn't the only one to complain but no apology was forthcoming.

The staff was nice and helpful. The location is in the middle between the city centre and the train station. The bed was comfortable.

The decoration is a little dated. It's quite expensive for just one night in a basic bedroom.

Rooms were not accessible by lift so had to lug bags upstairs. Old building and you can hear others moving about upstairs, so ear plugs recommended if you are easily disturbed.

Struttura tipica con molte sale che non ti aspetti. Camere in stile e molto confortevoli. Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. E' disponibile sul retro un parcheggio privato gratuito per gli ospiti della struttura. Essendo noi un gruppo con 5 moto, il titolare ci ha fatto ricoverare i mezzi in un garage coperto e chiuso, per una maggiore sicurezza. Molto vicino al centro di Kilkenny che è bellissima

The location for the town centre was good. The breakfast was excellent.

A soiled upside-down mattress was not an endearing start. Housekeeping must have known of the situation.The new mattress that was provided we were assured could be slept on immediately. Wrong! We knew that they take several hours to fully expand, which it did obviously. Staff in the dining room did not know the menu. I ordered a Salmon and prawn Combo at 17.95 (?) euro. This came then a prawn cocktail arrived which the water said was normal. I was then charged 2x 10euro for children's portions. The food was mediocre and for a hotel of this 'standing' not good at all. The room was stuffy and the windows would not stay open.

Die Lage war wirklich top, man kann super viel zu Fuß erreichen. Das unten angeschlossene Pub etc.sind richtig schön, genauso wie man es sich vorstellt. Wir haben davon in unserem Zimmer nachts auch nichts gehört. Ganz speziell muss man wirklich das Frühstück erwähnen. Das war echt sehr gut. Es gibt ein Buffet und zusätzlich eine Karte von der man weitere Gerichte bestellen kann - kostenlos!

Die Wände sind wirklich sehr dünn, man hört alles durch. Die Türen sind laut beim Öffnen und Schließen. Wer einen leichten Schlaf hat kann dadurch leicht wach werden.

It was very central, parking was included. I requested a single room, there was access facilities added, a double bed and a single bed, I did not use these additional facilities. There was a lady serving food and drink in the bar and serving breakfast the following morning and she was very friendly and helpful.

The room had a fake window with no natural light The breakfast was poor, it had been cooked for along time and was dried out The key did not work on 2 occasions and I had a long way to walk to get it reprogrammed, this happened to a number of other guests

Staff on front desk wouldn't blow you away with enthusiasm or a welcome. Internal layout is all over the place. Several stairs up and down to get to one room. Lots of strong bleach smells.

Hotel war etwas verwinkelt, Frühstücksraum, Bar und Restaurant sehr schön. Würden es wieder buchen.

Location was great, right in the town and surrounded by pubs, shops and restaurants. It's a hotel above an old pub. Very unique features in some of the areas. Meals are available in the pub and there is a beer garden to the rear. The room appeared clean but I noticed one or two areas in the bathroom on the tiling and under the sink that could have been cleaner. I was in an accessible room, which if you needed it might have been good as it had a large bathroom and was close to the lifts but I didn't need it. The rooms are a little dated but that doesn't bother me if they're clean. The bedding was spotless and the bed was comfy. Kilkenny itself is fab with lots to discover and there are a lot of lovely places to eat and drink.

I think if I stayed here at any other time I may have reported a different experience but I happened to stay during very high temperatures and that meant the room was horrendously hot. It's an old building so the window was a small sash and case style. This meant it only opened from the top a little. The curtains had to be kept closed as the room was even hotter with them open allowing the sun to pour in but this restricted air flow even further. The hotel supplied a small desk fan which blew around hot air. I found out late at night when I returned to my room that I was directly above the beer garden so had all the noise from that. Fortunately I never travel without ear plugs so managed to shut it out to get to sleep. I was unable to shut the window because the only relief I was getting from the heat was from the window. I was given an accessible room which at first sight I wasn't bothered about but after using it I realised the sink and mirror being lower were a bit annoying especially when brushing my teeth. I only ate in the bar on the first night. It was basic. Breakfast was ok but the Saturday service was a bit poor. Sunday had a more mature lady on breakfast and she knew what she was doing so a better experience all round. Staff on reception were a bit lacking in engagement, especially for Ireland where the culture is super friendly. I wouldn't stay here again and I do appreciate the hotel can't control the weather but they might need to consider mobile air con units on standby for the future because expecting guests just to suffer it, will have an impact. Furthermore, when a guest enters the breakfast room in the morning it is good service to welcome them, then explain to them where everything is if it's their first time. Then, show them to a table. That's just basic customer service. The lady on Sunday did all of this and was very pleasant with it so no criticism of her at all. The staff on Saturday did not.

Windows only open 1-2", no air conditioning. Room was hot, no airflow but hallways were oddly comfortable. Shower curtain sticks to you while showering and TV's didn't work in room.

Room had a slight musty smell to it when we went in first but it wasn’t too bad. There was no air con and it was during the heatwave so it was very warm and hard to sleep but there was a fan provided though thankfully so that saved us haha
