Reviewed Sep 17, 2026The staff/owners were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the shower had nice water pressure. We were travelling with a trailer and were very pleased that they had some extra long parking spaces to accommodate us. Highly recommend.

The only issue was the barking german shepherd dog that belongs to the owners. Woke me up numerous times. The dog was also loose which is a big concern.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026This was a clean and comfortable layover if you are driving from the GTA to Northern Ontario. Super happy with the bathroom and shower facilities. The complimentary bottle of cold water was a refreshing touch when having to unload the luggage on a scorching summer day!
Personally, my only small complaint was the condition of the carpets.

Všetko bolo ok. Vhodné by boli raňajky, ale v okolí je veĺa možnosti stravovania, takže aj bez raňajok to bolo ok.

The lady at the desk was delightful and cheerful.. after spending a long day traveling it was the perfect place to settle in. The bed…… omg it’s like a cloud!! I give this place 5 stars x2.

The bathroom door didn’t shut properly. It must have swollen from humidity and needs to be planed down. Also if there were glass/ceramic mugs to warm water in the microwave for tea that would be good.

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026De staff/I think owner was super friendly. Our room was big enough and we could park very close. Everything was clean and the bed was also comfortable. The owner also showed us the ice machine when we asked for it.
The outlets are not in great places and with a travel adaptor, we weren't able to use the one closest to the bed. Other than that, everything was perfect!

One must remember this is an old type Inn and I don,t think they can inprove the rooms any more than they have done. Great stay.

The Microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator were newer units and clean. Plenty of towels in the spotless bathroom. The motel is next door to a restaurant. I liked the 'vibe' of the motel. It reminds me of the 60's when motels like this were found along the highways, and we would only need to find the the next lighted "Vacancy" sign.

It was just fine for a layover from Thunder Bay to Ottawa when you don’t want to break the bank on a bed and a place to rest. Everything worked and it was clean and safe. Staff were great. Pizza place next door had delicious slices for sale.
Mattress was old style. Springs creaked when you sat on the bed but it was totally comfortable. I’ve slept in worse spare rooms in my friend’s homes! Building was older so wasn’t expecting much.

Reviewed Oct 16, 2025I stay in this motel almost every time I pass through the Soo. I have stayed at least 6 times not disappointed even once. I usually go through the Soo 4 times each year. I will use the TRUNK again in the future. Nearly impossible to beat the price along with a nearness to breakfast or dinner restaurants. Junction to the TransCanada is close. I always stop for gas on the Garden River Reservation. This motel is a great stop over along the highway. Not set for scenic views.
I can not find fault enough to say anything about it. I know I am not staying in a thousand dollars a night inn. I would not have stayed here twice if I was unhappy once. I have stayed here at least 6 times and there will be more.
