Motel 8

Very old and dated. Didn't like the smell of curry when I walked in the office. Very cluttered and of poor taste.

Convenient location safe place to park

The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating! Cannot thank her enough, as she went above and beyond!! It was exactly what we needed for our stay in Olds. Had a lovely stay at Motel 8.

Television worked first night but next day wouldn’t turn on. Left messages on phone and in person at front office but tv still wasn’t fixed before we checked out. Also window was quite dirty. Breakfast was minimal. Overall the place is okay for the price and I would probably stay here again.

The property had good value. The beds creaked as old bed fixtures. Air conditioner was available. Food options NON Existent, very poor selection.

Everyone was very kind and the room was clean and neat. The room was cleaned everyday. It was a great pkace to stay.

The property was old rundown in desperate need of updates. The walkways were unkept, cans filled with cigarette butts and alcohol bottles left laying around. Outside light shining directly into the windows all night long as the curtains were not black out. It was noisy when people walked around in the room and walk way above our room. The bed was okay. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic but the tub is definitely needing to be replaced and the tiles grouting repaired. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast as the area was cramped and not welcoming

The woman that checked us in was very helpful.

I found it clean and quiet and the staff friendly. I would stay again.

It is ok for a one night stop over

Asked "booked on line" I reply yes and a key was given to me very coldly."here" was all she said. Room stuffed in corridor with flimsy key knob but dead bolt worked. I didn't feel really safe in the outside hallway area and run down look Multiple families living in building. Won't stay again.

The pictures are not accurate!!! Not clean, towels are few & thread-bare. Parking area is cluttered with trash & dead plants.

Simple room. Simple breakfast. Good enough for a one night stay.

Booked this for a freind to stay at while we had business in town together, she requested a cheaper hotel to fit her budget. Reviews weren't bad for this one so I chose it and that was a mistake. She informed me the next morning the facility was really dirty and she felt unsafe in the room. Door didn't lock properly and in order to get to her room the part of the hotel she had to walk through was dirty and had broken glass around it. She said the room was so dirty she removed the top sheets from the bed and slept in her cloths. Then the "breakfast included" wasn't out when she left at 7:00am and when she asked the lady at the front desk the receptionist went into a back room and offered her a questionable looking muffin. Dont know how it had the reviews that it did but I will personally not be staying there agian.

No one answered the desk. Twice. Before and after dinner. Went the siesta motel

Good place for the price. Everything worked and beds were comfy Also very clean / room was renovated (fresh paint) , vinyl floor planking. Was quite impressed for a motel and will stay here again when there’s a horse show at the megadome !

Very difficult to talk to the lady that checks you in and also cleans the rooms. Numerous requests for towels as there was 2 adults. She kept telling us there was towels but not enough. All I can say you get what you pay for. Only place in town that had vacancy for the dates we needed.

I originally got a room and I couldn’t lock it on the inside. Not to mention the rooms were full of damage. When I asked for a new room they told me it was ok because it was locked on inside which I didn’t like. Got a new room and it was a bit better. Still a decent amount of damage in the room. The shower pressure was terrible and kept going from ice cold to scolding hot. Probably won’t stay here again

We had a a great sleep. And the room was very clean and crisp

It is older motel, but was clean and had what we needed. I was agreeabke with the price too.

Rooms are in very rough shape, and quite dirty. I was without water and had to move rooms. A random man barged into my room without knocking, he was startled and informed me " you no have water". I was not move rooms until late the next day.

They seem to do as good as they can with the motel they have to work with, which is old

Cleanliness should mot be reserved for luxury accommodations. Poorly constructed building and you can hear everything so peaceful sleep is not possible. After i locked myself out of my room is impossible to locate the owner. Waiting now for over 1 hr. I will update what the final wait was. I have commitments that i will.miss now as i can NOT retrieve my things from my room This place is a JOKE!

The property needs a few $$ to upgrade eg walls and bedding. No closet to hang up our clothes and yet it had a kitchen unit

Check in was horrible, she didn't have a clue. Bathroom door was falling apart, towels were brown and looked dirty. Didn't even bother to shower because of that. Thank God the beds looked clean.

When I checked in the gentleman was friendly. The room was clean. There was supposed to be breakfast available at 6:00 am until 10:00am, there was expired yogurts in the fridge and there was only muffins available at about 8:30. There was no one available when it was time to check out so I left my key on the front desk.

just a dingy place, no blankets, just a bed spread you know doesn't get washed everytime because it smelled like cigarette smoke, and a sheet. Unsavory characters in the parking lot and the breakfast was beyond bad..like inedible.

There wasn't any instructions on how to work the TV/cable. Manager came up and fixed it promptly. :) Limited hot water. Shower was luke warm.

Olds is a small simple little town. This motel is older and its condition shows that. Prices were reasonable for what you get. Our room was clean and without odor but dated. This is an owner run property. I stayed for 6 day's and for the money I can’t complain. The owner is honest. I left some money on the bed for the person cleaning the room and the money was put on the dresser. Breakfast was marginal at best and hit a miss. Supplies were very sparingly put out. I only went to breakfast twice and that was my observation both times. A few bananas, a few small yogurts, several breads and a roll of 6 bagels on one day no bagels the next. Several small jelly packets containers with juice and milk in mini fridge A couple mostly empty cereal bags. All This would be an easy fix. Owner appeared to be foreign born and very conservative. I’m guessing that has something to do with it. She even cut her own grass. I would stay there again based on price to value.

I liked that it was quiet.

The lady was very unfriendly and it took a long time for her to even come to the desk. It is a very old facility that they have not bothered to update at all. Broken taps and torn bedding. They need to put a little back into the business.

Air conditioner would not stay running so room got very warm.

This is a clean hotel basic accommodation the o e thing I’d say is more attention to cleaning up the grounds and the back lot the lady at the desk was very helpful I’d recommend staying here if looking for inexpensive accommodation

Check in was very fast. The location of the motel is very central. The people working at the hotel were very friendly. The motel overall was very quiet. It was great for our putposes

I seem to have forgotten & accidently left behind in the room I was in and expensive Harley T-Shirt I had boughten for my Wife o9. I would Very Much Appreciate if you could send it to me ( COD ). It was in a smaller Harley Davidson plastic bag. I would really appreciate having it. I would have left it either the first Night I stayed there or the second time I returned and stayed there. No Ice I called the front desk and they said no ice and they will not be offering ice ever? Very late noisy people but it finally quieted down after midnight

quiet & easy to get to. Only pillows were flat, I like fluffy. stayed 2 nights had good sleep both nights.

We had to find a place last minute and wanted a clean budget friendly spot. That's exactly what we found. We were upgraded to a King bed. It was clean, quiet and super comfy bed. The check-in lady is wonderful. Bright, smiling & joyful. Highly recommend this little diamond in the rough.

Motel 8, in my opinion is a 2 star. The rooms were clean, but certainly need some updating in the bathroom area. Door to the bathroom sticks, so is noisy openong the door. A good paintjob would help. Buy it was just one night, and served the purpose.

I wasn’t overly impressed with this motel. I found a sticky spot on the floor infront of the sink, the toilet paper roll wasn’t a fresh roll, the room needed some major redoing. But the worst was when we caught the owner/worker’s teenager urinating on the front of the building, just to the right of the office when we came back from an evening walk. Don’t think I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends

Very noisy. Young boys running along corridors and shouting until 10 every evening. Men yelling at each other until 1 or 2 in the morning showing no respect for their families or other guests. Women who worked there seemed to be trying hard.Building looked like a fire hazard.
