7 Cross Street

I had the pleasure of staying in No 7 in Galway for the last two nights and would highly recommend. From the location in middle of everything to the most comfortable, spotlessly clean room to the very substantial breakfast and the very warm, kind welcome from Hazel and Scott. I felt very much at home and so very well looked after. I will definitely be back and highly recommend. 🫶🤗

Outstanding location for excellent restaurants nearby and lots of trad music. Rooms are small but decor is modern kitchy and very clean. Staff is wonderful and the buffet breakfast very good

Convenient location with lots of history.

Excellent location! Several pubs, restaurants, and shops literally outside the door. I read lots of previous reviews from others complaining about the noise at night, but it did not bother us and wasn’t extreme. If you want a quiet place with no noise, you shouldn’t be staying in the heart of this entertainment district/neighborhood in the first place. Rooms and hotel were very clean, and nice free breakfast. Rooms were a little small, but to be expected in a historic 600 year old hotel in a historic fun vibrant area. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in the heart of Galway.

The birthday wine was a nice touch. Thank you!

This is a very small property in a 700 year old building. That being said, my wife and I had a nice stay. It is located conveniently in the Latin Quarter—right in the middle of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. It is easily walkable. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep. My wife and I are in our 60s so this presented a bit of a challenge, but the young lady who was present offered to help. We declined, but appreciated her willingness. The room we had (Shakespeare) was small but comfortable. The bed is comfortable. The air conditioning worked but could not be adjusted. The bathroom is tiny, but workable. We had breakfast included which was continental style. It met our needs each day just fine. While not a five star mega hotel chain, the experience was fun and the location couldn’t be beat.

So grateful for the instructions to find parking beforehand! Nice location. A little noisy from nearby bars but nothing too crazy. If you travel with a-lot of luggage look elsewhere as there’s no elevator and plenty of stairs. Highly recommend!

Comfortable

Tiny room but a great location. They warned us that it would be noisy but it wasn’t too bad. Everything was a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and the staff nice.

So fun! We had a great time!

We loved our stay from beginning to end. The staff was kind, resourceful and the room, while small, was charming and clean. The location of the hotel couldn’t have been more perfect, with perfect access to the water, West Galway and cheerful barkeeps in the Latin Quarter!

Great location, boutique hotel, room was small but we really enjoyed the experience

7 Cross Street is right in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Galway making it a fun (although noisy) and very walkable place to stay. The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly, though sometimes hard to locate. The building is old and our room was very small, but they provide interesting historical information for the building.

This property is adorable! Beware: there is no lift, the stairs are narrow and the room is tiny. With that said, we loved it. The rooms are identified by the names of authors, the breakfast is ample and the location offers multiple options for food and drink steps from your door.

Hotel is right in the heart of the action in Galway. Excellent music in the bar next door although the music was quite loud in the room also. The hotel provided ear plugs so it didn't really bother us. Hotel is a very old 600 year old building with no lift, steep/narrow stairs so carrying luggage was challenging. The room was very small. The car park at the Spanish Arch has extremely small parking spaces and was daunting to navigate, for a westerner. Unfortunstely missed our first night at the hotel due to a plane delay and couldn't get a refund.

We recently stayed here as the last leg of our honeymoon! The hotel has a lot of history and is in an excellent location in the Latin quarter! Our room was quite small and decor was a bit outdated. The staff was friendly and helpful, assisted with carrying our bags up the stairs at check in, as there is no elevator. The included breakfast had a good spread to choose from and was included in the stay. The parking garage nearby, Spanish arch parking, which offers a discounted rate for hotel guests was so tight and difficult to navigate, at least for us Americans. You may want to consider parking elsewhere. They treated us to complimentary champagne for our honeymoon!

As mentioned in other reviews, there is street noise, but the hotel provides ear plugs. We don"t mind staying up until the noise dies down but if you like to go to bed early, you might want to find a hotel farther from the Latin Quarter. Rooms are very small due to the historic building but manageble for a 2 night stay. Breakfast had a nice spread of yogurts, hardboiled eggs, cheese and breads. Staff were very helpful.

Avoid if you’re getting on in years ! We had to climb up 7 flights of steep narrow stairs carrying heavy luggage as there is no lift Room tiny Blinds not Fit for purpose as let a lot of light in - waking us up about 5am NOISE - it is situated on one of the busiest streets in Galway with deafening live music until 1 am and then general crowd chatter- they do provide earplugs though! The shower is just a head stuck on the wall - water was a lukewarm dribble until our last morning when it was a scalding hot dribble - with no working thermostat so had to abound on or risk getting 3 rd degree burns ! I did tell the woman in charge but at first she pretended she didn’t understand and then just shrugged !

Very clean and tidy rooms small but have everything you need staff very good and friendly. Nice continental breakfast, only thing bad was too noisy a Bar across from you and couple of other Bars in the street music playing until 2 in the morning plus noisier after closing time. Great place for young people who party.

Although the rooms are a bit tight, its clean, you can't beat the location, and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

Wonderful little hotel in the best location. The staff were all fantastic!

This is a cute old hotel. Rooms are clean and comfy but not much bigger than the queen bed! But the staff and location make up for it. It can be noisy but the double windows help slot.

You are staying in a cozy, 700 year old building in the center of the Latin Quarter in Galway, with air conditioning! If you don’t understand the connection between Galway and Spain, look it up on Wikipedia. Fabulous location, fabulous staff, fabulous cozy room with en suite bathroom. Laundromat around the corner. The only downside is all the stairs but, 700 years old.

Hotel room and bathroom very small but clean and comfortable. We were on the top floor which meant carrying luggage up 3 flights of very narrow stairs, staff assisted - historical building, no elevator. Once moved in we enjoyed the stay! Included breakfast was fresh and delicious, staff was very welcoming. Right on pedestrian street with restaurants, bars, music - we enjoyed the proximity and walkability but some may find loud for sleeping.

So convenient to central Galway, really good breakfast, and wonderful staff and proprietor! Small rooms but comfy bed and nice bathroom. Historic and interesting!

Clean, central and historic location. Also tiny - like tiny-tiny - room and bathroom. People upstairs sound like they’re in the room with clogs on. Just be prepared. I don’t know how more than one person could fit, never mind with luggage. Again though, great location and super clean.

The staff at 7 Cross Street were extremely helpful and kind. The location can't be beat, you're right in the heart of things. There was a smidge of noise from the street at night but we expected that having read the description and other reviews. It didn't bother us. Overall our stay was very pleasant!

Charming old building in the old town with convenient parking a short two blocks away. Rooms are on the small side but provide all necessities. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very old and has a lot of character. The rooms have been recently updated so everyone is clean and in good condition. The room itself is very small and hard to move. The sink has separated spigots fur hot and cold water which is a little frustrating but not terrible. What is super frustrating is the shower water pressure. I had trouble getting tinsed off.

Liked everything

Loud music from 2300-0200 on a Tuesday. They said this in the advertisement, but it was really loud. Then other hotel people were mad and slamming doors. There should be a way to speak to the city and not have late music during the week at least. Room seemed clean but by friend said there was hair on her sheets. It’s fine if you don’t mind staying up late. Convenient location, close to parking and city center.

Lovely hotel, great location. Breakfast is superb Rooms are small and no pressure in shower

Great location, excellent customer service!

Great location. Didn't expect breakfast included so that was a nice bonus. Didn't get the issue others reported with noise. Didn't have an issue - you're opposite a pub so you hear noise but nothing excessive. Very pleased with the stay.

I loved the location right in the middle of everything, and the breakfast was satisfying.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in this delightful hotel. Our room was compact in size but more than adequate for our three night stay. The hotel staff member was very pleasant, made us feel most welcome and prepared a lovely continental breakfast for us. We would definitely return to this hotel

Staying at the Hotel at the moment. Lovely little hotel and because we did a little research before coming, we knew the size of the rooms, stairs etc . The rooms are small but perfectly usable. We travelled with only a weekend end bag so did not need much storage. The hotel and rooms look good and the bed was comfy. We were right opposite the the front door pub ( which is fab) and did not hear much noise at all but this may not be the case in the summer when people are outside and all the doors open, Due to the stairs it may not be perfect for some people. I would definitely stay here again as being located in The Latin Quater is great.

A splendid step back into Galway’s past in this boutique hotel situated in a medieval townhouse steps from the bustle of Quay Street. Our tiny but cozy room was on the third floor — and please note, if you have any kind of mobility issue, this is NOT the lodging for you, looking out on Cross Street (with some attendant noise at night) — but the emphasis here is on “cozy”, because it was comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were uniformly lovely, the included Continental breakfast very good, and the location can’t be beat for its proximity to the pubs and restaurants of Quay Street and environs. We love Galway for its music and history, and 7 Cross Boutique Hotel puts you right in the center of everything and makes you feel at home. Parking is discounted at the Spanish Arch car park about a four minute walk away. We would gladly stay here again on a future trip, daunting stairs notwithstanding.

Very nice place. The room was clean and comfortable. The room was a little small for us tho. We had a hard time moving around and the bathroom shower was extremely small. I also wish there had been an elevator as we stayed in the 3rd floor and had a lot of luggage. But the staff was very nice and helpful.

Assuming score of 5 for the location and kind service, minus 1 for tiny room, minus another 2 for the terrible sleep experience. Unfortunately, only 2 points left.

The workers were really awesome and kind, the bed was very comfortable and we had an amazing breakfast. Thank you to the staff for going above to call me when I left me camera there. Thank you again!

Location was incredible and for a small room it had a lot of character!

Right in the centre of the latin quarter

This is a very special place. Great location. Amazing staff that is incredibly accommodating! We will be back!

Awesome for us. Room was small but we didn’t spend much time there. Amazing location, maybe a bit loud at night for some but didn’t bother us at all. Great breakfast and amazing staff.

Small cozy room and hotel. Exceptional breakfast and staff who were available friendly and attentive to my wife’s food restrictions (celiac). So close to the action and

Lovely place, well decorated. The staff was great, friendly and welcoming. Only thing is the bathroom floor tiles close to the shower that were broke and need to be replaced. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was delicious too

Small room but super location. Friendly staff

Lovely and friendly staff. Great location. Pet friendly

Lovely little hotel albeit very small and noise can be a factor. They do give you ear plugs to mitigate. The windows were hard to open and close. Can't beat the location - right in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Galway.

Very noisy area, the bars downstairs play live music until 2am. Water pressure is low and especially poor for hot water in the evening

Location is right in the heart of the nightlife hub. Centrally located.

It is very noisy until 2:00am

The history is amazing

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property was in an excellent location; close to all the pubs, shops, etc. A beautiful old building with lots of charm. The AC was great the first night, however it wasn't working the second night. Had we not gotten back to the room so late we would've called them to look at it, I'm sure they would've had it running ASAP as they were very helpful there. Overall I would absolutely stay there again!

It's a very small hotel but has everything you need. The hotels location is fantastic. Great breakfast and comfortable beds. Don't let the location and fear of street noise put you off. The windows seal things up tight. Thank you very much. We would stay there next time.

This is an old property in the middle of Galway’s ‘Latin quarter’. It is super busy with shops, pub cans music but the hotel was an oasis in the middle of the busyness. We had a lovely room, comfortable bed and all one would expect from a building that originally was built 400 years ago. No lift and rooms aren’t hugely but it had alot of character as well as comfort. We loved it, will say again!

Wonderful small hotel

Hazel had created a lovely spot to stay in the Latin Quarter! Walk out the door into a world of pubs, live music and shopping! Kudos to the staff for friendly and kind service!

Wonderful location , lots of steps to the rooms as advertised. Rooms are small , spotlessly clean . We were top floor and the shower pressure was very poor . Breakfast was 100% , great staff . Would definitely stay again for weekend trip .

Very small room and a lack of water pressure for the shower.

This is such a quaint hotel. Great location and walkable to everything. Hazel gives great directions to get to places. Breakfast is great with good fresh fruits and yogurt, cereals cheeses, meats and an assortment of breads and bagels. We highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful location and nice staff made this an excellent stay. Would highly recommend!

Friendly service

Perfect property in the heart of the Latin Quarter. There is no elevator given the age of the building so be beware of that. The noise of the nightlife did not bother me but my wife did end up using the complimentary earplugs the hotel provides. For the location, it cannot be beat.

Wonderful location and helpful staff. Parking is a challenge given nearby options.

Easiest check in and friendly staff. They even started breakfast easy for us.

The location is ideal - just walk out the front door and you’re in the heart of the Latin quarter with quick access to restaurants and bars. Great vibe around that area. . The rooms are very small (as noted). Ok if you’re traveling with a small carry-on case or small backpack. Little or no space in the room to store your luggage. Nice continental breakfast. Bed was not that comfortable. A little pricey for what you get.

The staff was outstanding from check in to breakfast to check out. Place is micro but the most important is how central to everything it is… and clean! Would definitely stay again.

Good location. Room was cold and heater didn’t work.

This place is truly in the heart of Galway. It is a cute hotel with A lot of history and character. It is true the rooms are quiet small however we found it to very functional. The hotel does not have a lift/elevator so you do have to go up and down which is not a bad thing and the young man who checked is in kindly offered to get luggage to our rooms. I was worried since I heard it was very loud however they have an extra sound blocking window, that once it is closed, the noise from the pub area below is almost completely gone. There are Are plugs provided in the room but we did not need them. We enjoyed our stay and would return!

Great but noisy location, to be expected. Very helpful staff who went beyond to help our stay be better.

This location in Galway is perfect!! There is AC in the rooms and this was more than appreciated as there was a heat wave happening during our stay. Be prepared, as there is not an elevator, which is to be expected in a building of this age. The staff was exceptional and were more than accommodating. Christina is amazing. The breakfast was very nice. The rooms are tiny, but the beds were so comfortable. I loved staying here and would recommend to anyone who enjoys spending the majority of their time seeing the sights. The hotel has quite the history and I enjoyed learning about the establishment. Thank you for a great stay!

No lift. Stairs were very thin to carry luggage. Room was small. Just enough to fit a bed and very small bathroom.

Room was extremely small! Location was excellent, with dining and entertainment within steps of the hotel.

It’s definitely a cosy unique hotel & we loved our stay.

Cosy place with great staff and hospitality. A bit small rooms if you have luggage and noisy at evening/nights due to the live band nightclub below at street level.

Perfect European style hotel for us. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The hotel is in the heart of the Latin Quarter so there is noise outside but the dual windows and provided earplugs worked fine (I only used the ear plugs once)

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at 7 Cross Street. Christine and Marcielle went above and beyond during our time at the property. Everyone was extremely helpful and the property is in a great location. I would recommend this property to anyone who’s planning on staying in Galway!

The rooms were shockingly small. The staff were amazing

I booked the property knowing the rooms were tiny and noisy & the stairs steep. i felt the location in the Latin Quarter and the history of the property made the inconveniences worthwhile. Added bonuses were the attentive care of the owner Hazel and her staff and the interesting conversations at breakfast with other guests.

Room space is minimum, but the location is a real heart of the city. After checking out, a wonderful MIRACLE occurred. A exceptional staff found my small items, then noticed me, finally sent it me! It’s a real KINDNESS!

We loved our 2 night stay here! The staff was excellent and so was the hospitality of the owner! The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and the location was excellent! There is a pub across the street that was quite lively but once we closed our double panned windows the room was very quite! We slept wel! Great breakfast and team! We would definitely stay again! Gary & Luc

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Friendly customer service, clean and charming room, beautiful hotel and decor, delicious and lovely breakfast, in a super convenient location. Highly recommend!

Such a cool little hotel. Must warn, though, rooms are small. However, we were expecting that, so we weren’t surprised. What you don’t get in space is made up for in uniqueness. Location is in the heart of the action. Proprietor’s dedication is evident in the care she takes to ensure guests are comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

In the heart of the vibrant night life culture of Galway,

Good: Excellent, helpful, friendly staff. Convenient, fun location. Challenges: Rooms are a steep walk up and bar noise outside can’t be blocked out, so commit to rocking out until about 3 am.

Great location. Staff couldn't have been any nicer. Very friendly. I would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind stairs.

Great little hotel. Staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for you.

If you want history in the heart of Galway’s vibrant night scene this is it! A great location and friendly staff.

The service was very good, and our stay was so relaxing The staff was really kind and willing to attend any request

Loved it! Great location, small cozy clean room, great breakfast. Parked at parking garage, made it easier as it was hard to find and a festival was going on. 3 minute walk, super easy and I recommend it, much easier than street parking.

The room was tiny. When the owner opened the door it hit off the bed. The bathroom was tiny also. The room was literally a bed with a roof over it and four walls,so nothing fits in the room only the bed. I had to climb up on to the bed as no room either side. My son who was 8 had to turn sideways to get in around the side of the bed. One tiny window full of cushions which only make it all the more claustrophobic. So disappointing. The owners are very pleasant but I'll be honest I could not wait for the morning to come so I could get out of there. I didn't even have the continental breakfast on offer as the whole experience was so disappointing and a complete waste of money. My advice to you guys would be to completely rethink the layout of your rooms. Close for a few weeks and get someone in who knows what they are doing. You could have bunk beds, something along the lines of a hostel. The prices you charge are very unfair. Clever photography is pointless as when people arrive and see where they have to sleep they will not come back!

A Great location in the Heart of the Latin Quarter. The room was a little smaller than I expected.

Absolutely tiny room with no storage. Just hooks on the wall. Problems with hot water in the shower. Two very busy and noisy late night bars right outside with loud music till 2am. Breakfast ok and everything clean but would not return

Great hosts. The location is perfect. Restaurants and pubs are at the doorstep. We played a few rounds of golf-never more than a 20-minute car ride. And a couple of dips in Galway bay. Team Mc Ginley/ Gillin had a fantastic stay.

Great location, history and friendly young couple running hotel. Also, long night party makes it very interesting place! Cheers!!

Great place right in old town Galway.

Stuff are super friendly and very informative! The place is cute! Since the area is surrounded by restaurants and bars, it could be noisy at times but we can't complain since it's convenient to go around.
