Amazing concept: everything you need in the middle of Canadian wilderness. A hot shower, a comfortable bed, lovely surroundings and mindlike people. 10 out of 10

Pour démarrer un séjour dans l'Alberta, c'est une super étape pour être dans la nature..Nous y avons passé une super première nuit de notre séjour en famille, dans cette auberge de jeunesse à l'ambiance très conviviale et très confortable. La salle commune avec les fauteuils et livres est super. La cuisine très pratique. Le personnel très sympathique. Et super, la soirée autour du feu ! Cela permet une vie en communauté très respectueuse et agréable

Staff was so kind and other guests as well. Hostel was all around clean. Felt very comfortable and homey.

Very cosy location. The kitchen and dining area were spacious and had everything we needed, and the common area was cosy and comfortable. The toilets and showers downstairs were really nice. Tiz, the host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The dorms are very simple as was expected, the mattresses are thin but comfortable enough. Great location to access hikes in Kananaskis!

Improvements to the dorms could include privacy curtains for each bunk bed, a small shelf for each bed to store items like a phone and water overnight, lockers to put bags or dedicated storage shelves/drawers for luggage, and better air conditioning - it was quite warm in the dorm whilst we were there.

everything! the place is taken care of very well, sits quietly and secluded but still close to hw40, cathy and her husband make you feel very welcome :) i booked an additional night and would've booked more but alas, they were full. i'll definately recommend it back home and will come again. Kananaskis has so much to offer and the hostel is placed perfectly for exploring!

The staff were exceptional, the place is cosy and quiet and really well kept. It's basic, but has everything you need and feels like a little community ♡ I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

I would have loved if there were lockers available, just for important things like passports. You're so far from everything, it's not like someone will just walk in off the street and take things, so I didn't have any issues, but it would have just given a little more peace of mind to be able to lock things up.

Our stay here was amazing, the surroundings are beautiful, but I think a sauna would be great. Cathy is a great host. The place is very well equipped, from the kitchen to the bathroom. I 100% recommend you stay here.

Accueil des jeunes employés de l’auberge parce que nous étions arrivé d’avance … à 15h… au lieu de 17h il nous ont demandé de revenir plus tard …et il pleuvait à boire debout !

My room was right off the kitchen so a little noisy. There was a door, I closed it, but someone opened it again. Because there was no private bathroom. When I got up in the middle of the night or early in the morning, there was often someone in the kitchen one guy was just staring at me and it kind of creeped me out.

It is a very nice Hostel. It was clean. I appreciated the welcoming by the staff. They showed me around. I liked the shower area.

It took me abit to get the sheets on my bed organized...so I didn't feel the coolness of the mattress. I was able to open the window a crack...to let in some fresh air, which was good. I am 63 and haven't stayed in a Hostel, since I was in my 20's. It is a very nice Hostel, with some really nice hiking trails nearby. I went for a hike up the Ribbon Creek Trail. It is a beautiful hike.

Mattresses were not good quality. Thin and loud anytime someone moved. Arrived early but wasn’t allowed to even use the bathroom until 5pm when check in opens.

Our host was friendly and really made us feel comfortable as this was our first time here.

The dorms can be a bit noisy with people in and out, but we were provided earplugs, so I didn't hear anything.

I love staying here. The location is great.

One thing I noticed that there should be lamps on each bunk bed in all the dorms. Having the lights flicked on for the whole room, while the host checked in new guests @9:30pm while 3 of us were asleep was not good. I think the host should do the check in information in the other room, and that each bunk should be numbered. Having to walk in an tell guests where there is a bunk bed at night is not ok. I have stayed in many hostels. If the main room light is off, keep it off, go to your bunkbed with your cell flash light, and turn on your bunks light. Being startled I jumped up in bed from the light, then the host said " No one must be sleeping". Please. Label the beds, give out the letter or number upon check in, talk with guests outside of the dorm, and apply a light to all bunks. Also, please lock the front door at night time, so weirdos don't come in to the building. Being open 24/7 is not a good idea. A code for guests would work well.

Super cozy hostel, remote location which I personally liked a lot. The living room area was super cozy with the chimney, the kitchen was great for cooking and the showers were very pleasant as well. Will definitely come back!

The hostel is typical. It is clean and there are 3 private rooms in addition to the dorms. The kitchen is large and well stocked. The common sitting area is large with a fire place and comfortable chairs/couches. The location is great. There is an outdoor bonfire area and a bbq.

The private rooms are small so not a lot of room to maneuver. The bed was comfortable but not amazing. The bathroom shower was okay but not great and was shared with 2 other rooms. The coffee maker didn't work so well. The only doors that locked were the bedroom doors. The outside door and hallway door to the rooms were never locked.

The atmosphere of the place was super nice. It was well equipped. The wifi worked well. The common area has lots of tables, dishes, and a fireplace. It is in a good location for exploring Kananaskis and the Nordic spa. Also not too far (in Canadian terms) from Canmore or Banff.

The kitchen, the common room was nice and the dormitory was clean. The wifi works well despite what we read on the other feedbacks.

Well located for the activities we were doing, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the showers, free parking, WiFi, big fridge.

There wasn’t a lock on the shower room door which made for a needlessly stressful experience. Quiet hour wasn’t observed and nobody seemed to shush a very loud group which we didn’t appreciate at 1am when we shared a wall with the kitchen. Worth mentioning that their water is from a well so they provide a water cooler for drinking and brushing your teeth.

Beautiful setting in the Kananaskis valley. Rooms were simple but clean. Excellent facilities to cook own food. Very kind and helpful staff.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. Drinking water (non-tap water) and morning coffee were complementary.

The size of the bed I slept on, being tall. The difficulty of being around others and trying to sleep, also trying not to wake anyone up.

WAY TO HOT IN THE BEDROOMS

I love the location and cost of a private room compared to other options. Fully stocked kitchen is a bonus as it allows us to eat what we want when we want.

I sent an email about bike storage that went unanswered. And when I called the central number they were no help either saying I’d have to ask the manager. But I couldn’t call so that would need to be done in person. I needed an answer before we left. The WiFi being limited to a few hours but being told it’s to encourage engaging with others is a bit patronising if I’m honest. We’re not children, most are hard working adults. I get it, if it wasn’t there we’d cope. But truth is in this day and age it is available. We switch off on the trail.
