The location was good
The burger was under cooked. The bed was uncomfortable. The hair dryer was broken. The bar area had a leak under the floor for the 3 days of our stay. The bar area still had the previous nights empty glasses out at breakfast.
Clean well decorated. Good value for money.
Room I was in was noisy as it was adjacent to main road. Breakfast was good but bacon too underdone for me.

Fantastic condition and clean.
Nothing…
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, well decorated and clean. The Inn looked very welcoming.
Sadly, we booked the disabled room - which was a very nice room. However, after I checked in, my husband realised that the bed was too low for him. We understand many disabled people would happily have a lower bed, but my husband's condition means he needs a regular or even slightly higher bed to get in and out of without much help. The low height meant I would have to help him and, as we get older, this is not really something I can manage. Such a shame - the staff were very helpful and upset that we had to check out after just 15 mins or so.
Staff were very friendly. Room was lovely and had cleaner on each day. Perfect location for us to visit friends
Food in restaurant was just ok. Thought it might be better.
Lovely clean room in great location.
Nothing.
The food was good.Staff were pleasant.Room was big enough.
No toiletrie shelf in the bathroom & shower head leaking from spray adjuster.
Location - close to our family
Room had chocolate wrappers under bed so hadn’t been cleaned properly. Curtain non existent so sun streams in morning - broken toilet was filling all night, mattress like a slab of concrete, tv size of postage stamp.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the two rooms we booked through Booking.com at the Elm Tree Inn, Wisbech. I am requesting a full refund because the accommodation was materially unsuitable for its intended purpose and was very different from what we reasonably expected from the Booking.com listing and the way the property is presented. On arrival, we found that there were no available parking spaces, intoxicated and disruptive people were occupying the outside areas, and extremely loud music was being played from the pub/function area. The bass was so powerful that the rooms themselves shook and vibrated. This was not ordinary or reasonable background noise. It made it impossible to relax or sleep. My son also struggled to gain access to his room because intoxicated people were loitering around the entrance to the accommodation. The bedrooms were accessed via an external staircase above/adjacent to the pub, with the bar effectively functioning as reception. The overall environment was entirely unsuitable for what we believed we had booked as a four-star hotel stay. The situation was so unacceptable that we did not stay. We handed both room keys back to a member of the bar staff and explained that we could not remain at the property. We therefore received no meaningful benefit from the accommodation. I have since discovered that our experience was not an isolated incident. Recent independent guest reviews describe remarkably similar problems with excessive noise and bass from the pub/function room. One December 2025 review states that the guest returned to their room to find it "shaking" from the noise and bass from the function room below and specifically said they should have been advised of this at the time of booking. Another recent review describes the thumping bass from the pub below as being so intrusive that it actually made the toilet floor shake and continued until closing

Breakfast was fine thankyou.
Lovely room very clean lovely staff couldnt do more for you
Nothing
Food was good and location
Both rooms were so small and could barely fit in the bed. The size of the room wasn’t expected for the money and the overall cleanliness wasn’t great. Also didn’t feel overly safe, anyone can walk into the corridor and one of the rooms had massive difficulty opening the door.
Location good for our visit to sandringham.
Bedroom a little claustrophobic particularly because it was hot. Strange menu offering with a real lack of main course choice. Not big fans of burgers , hot dogs . Thought the steaks were overpriced and in particular £4.50 for a sauce addition.!!! Give customers some value and include the sauce in a steak priced at 31.95.
it was good value for money easy access and easy check-out. Shower worked and they had a fan and a variety of instant coffee. For what you pay is good.
Direct access from the street to the rooms no need for key. mattress was hard as a rock but decent.
Clean Quiet Easily Accessible Good Parking Good restaurant No fuss
No areas of concern at all - I would highly recommend it and I will stay again if I'm back in the area
The food was very good and comfortable room for one night stay.
The fact that you have to order your breakfast the night before and with the time you want it as well.
Comfortable bed spacious room and tea and coffee. The location was convenient for what I needed.
A small dusty fan provided that didn't do much and having to walk up metal stairs which when punters were sitting outside would stare at you as you walked down/up the stairs which made me feel uncomfortable.
Breakfast was cooked to order - there was a choice of eggs - fried, scrambled or poached - I was not actually asked! I forgot to mention when I went into breakfast & whilst waiting, I thought they may then ask, the default seems to be fried, I would have preferred poached, minor detail as fried was fine! Plenty of bacon!
As this all these establishments, the orange juice is from concentrate - it really is not very nice and pasturised orange juice is significantly better, ok, it costs more, yest they provide nice coffee (which I don't drink), I would happily pay and extra £1 to have decent orange juice!
The food at the property was very good but you had to wait nearly 50 mins for it to arrive
The bed was not comfortable and you rolled into the middle of it. It wasn’t as clean as it could be and the room was very dark and stuffy
The pub and restaurant below very good
No fridge in room
good dining area - we had a very good evening meal and an excellent full breakfast
Excellent food in the restaurant.Especially the Curry on the Friday night.
The electric shower was weak and the shower head wouldn't stay up. Room 6.
A very warm welcome on checking in. A very nice room with shower, and plenty of tea and coffee making facilities.
The bed although a double, was a small double.
Prachtige locatie. Sfeervol opgeknapt. Heerlijke kamer en heel goed restaurant.
Niks.
Nice pub with reasonable prices for drinks? Good breakfast
Food was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. Location was good.
Room smelt damp. Had to keep blinds closed as outdoor seating for the pub was right outside our window. Very noisy due to being attached to the pub on ground level. Also the metal staircase to the rooms above was right by our door which was very noisy when people went up and down. Bathroom needed a refresh.
Tiny room, couldn't open the wardrobe because of the single bed, which was also practically pressed against the wall on the other side. The desk was tiny and impractical for doing any work - it would fit my lap top but pretty much nothing else. It was more of a cupboard than a room
Good location, lovely room, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Excellent Stay Had an extremely good stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. Special thanks to Chef Sachin for the excellent food and hospitality. Everything was great, and I would happily stay here again.
Staff were friendly Bathroom was clean with small selection of toiletries
It looked very unloved with dead plants in the raised beds. The room was badly laid out with only four hangers and a rail situated over the tea making facilities. The bed was very low and pillows lumpy. Breakfast was an extra £10 but not really value for money
We only stayed the night as family lived 10 minutes away we was there to see new family members to be honest was not expecting much but wow everything was fantastic we will definitely use this place again as they had everything we wanted
Not a thing
Nice room very spacious.
Staff very helpful
Friendly staff. Room clean. Value for money. Nice restaurant
Perhaps better quality cereals bread and coffee at breakfast. However the breakfast was perfectly adequate
This was a brilliant find as I needed to stay close to Wisbech college for a few days with work. Staff were great throughout. Cheerful, helpful and attentive. Food was excellent and the room I had was a truly pleasant surprise. Everything I needed for a local stay and a lovely roof terrace area for an evening sunshine pause too. I will happily stay again and recommend.
Nothing. This suited what I wanted perfectly.
Breakfast was lovely
Free WiFi - not on listing
The room.
Getting on the various WiFi signals is tricky with different passwords and location availability. Also it was irritating to see that our payment was taken before arrival, because I was travelling with a colleague from another company and he wished to pay his own room.
Clean and quiet. Well-equipped and nicely furnished. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing. It was all fine.
shower was freezing cold
What a wonderful stay- was met by a lovely young lady who was very helpful. My room was clean and all I needed. Dinner was outstanding - the same young lady told me about the Wednesday burger special which I had. In the morning a very nice gentleman had prepared my table and I had a great breakfast. Excellent all round.

Pleasant staff in bar which where very welcoming.
Cold room on entering radiator was turned off even though they knew what time we would be arriving. There was only a bedside cabinet and lamp on one side of the uncomfortable bed even though this was a deluxe double room, next morning my husband lifted the mattress to find a broken wooden slat! Dressing table was one side of room with the only mirror in the room being on the wall the opposite side of room. Although this room was a good size I fail to see how it can be classed as deluxe. Breakfast Sunday morning was not what I expected, I had poached eggs on toast, the toast I had to make myself and the eggs had an overdose of vinegar! My husband had full English, streaky bacon is the cheapest cut you can get and what you would expect on a benidorm all-inclusive package holiday, this really let you down! I have visited your establishment for many years and enjoyed many meals with you, but I do feel you let yourself down on this occasion!
All nice
Milk was off need more electric plugs need a fram for your suitcase need water
The restaurant was really nice and served a good variety of food. The standard of food was excellent. Breakfast was also good. The rooms were quite small but adequate for a 1 night visit. Bathroom shower was good and looked pretty new.
The bar area was quite small and had a lot of loud locals. But the restaurant was on the other side of the building so didnt affect us.
Very clean rooms, though they do vary on size. Breakfast were a good size and the head chef was very welcoming.
The bed was ok.. slumped in the middle so kept rolling when trying to sleep. A king duvet may be better for a double bed, rather than having to fight for cover. The shower was really bad. Came out in a trickle and the hot water didn’t last for long. The complimentary shower gels were in small bottles that kept falling through the shower rack. After checking out at 11am, staff wouldn’t let us in the bar area to wait, so had to sit outside in the cold. Restaurant is extremely expensive. London prices, so you may need a second mortgage.
Very nice rooms
Everything was just great. Only thing if you travelling bit difficult to get their before doors closes had to rush
Clean tidy and great sausage and mash
Nothing
Food and eating staff .
Locals use as a bar and one was abusive and manager bottled it .I sorted it but he was out of his depth or in their pocket .
Warm welcoming staff. Excellent food
Spacious
Problematic heating and hot water
Clean, new looking room. Nice decking on roof and the Pub noise wasn’t an issue.
No heating on in room so it was cold. Local pushed in front of me at the bar and the bartender didn’t notice or didn’t care to. 1 noisy guest but that can’t be helped. Mattress was thin.
Lovely clean room, good size shower Nice evening meal
The bedroom only had a blind at the window and let in too much light Pillows were too hard for me, but others might like them
Arrived at 20.00 managed a Couple of Drinks whilst ordering my Meal . Superb Burger and Chips perfectly cooked
Nothing - Car park Water holes !!
Lovely gem of a place with beautiful food and great staff lovely touch with the outdoor seating area on the terrace with beautiful views
Nothing
The room was clean in every respect. The bed was clean and comfortable. Teamaking facilties excellent. The room was also a good size. We had one dinner meal which was excellent .
The lighting in the room was very poor.It had a very small window so little natural light.Impossible to read a book easily. The bedside lights were useless for reading in bed.The worst thing was lack of comfortable chairs. There were two chairs with small cushions which were horribly uncomfortable and a “sofa bed “which was also uncomfortable. Not possible to sit anywhere with any degree of comfort.we sat on the bed mostly and that was too low..The window blind was broken and would not stay up.The toilet was very clean but needed more shelf space for bits when washing or putting on makeup. The Muzak in the pub below, whilst OK in the pub bar,was very intrusive in the room ,the thumping bass actually made the toilet floor shake and it went on until closing time. The car park was small and there was brambles growing over the fence which tore clothing when opening the boot.Needed cutting off.
I made this booking for relatives travelling from Australia. They commented that although the room itself was clean the blinds were very dusty, and I believe one of the guests reported this to the hotel. Overall, they were very pleased and had a really good breakfast before travelling on to their next destination. Thank you for looking after them.
The only comment from them was that the blinds were very dirty but did not detract from their stay. Thank you.
Sehr freundliches Personal, Tee und Kaffee, sogar Bügeleisen und Bügelbrett im Zimmer
Auf dem Zimmer ist die Terrasse der anderen Zimmer, war morgens zum Teil sehr laut
Excellent nicely cooked and high quality of food and local Sorced
Nothing really
Bar & Food
The room size, the smallest room I have stayed in.
Good location for the trip we had planned.
The tv did not work. The heating was stuck on with no way of turning it down. The hotel was closed, therefore no facilities available even to get a bottle of water. We were not made aware of this fact when booking the trip.
Good location and the food was excellent
Nothing
Conveniently located to Wisbech town. A very attentive breakfast staff colleague who kindly provided a wake-up call to the room as I'd left my phone charger at home.
Small size of the room and ensuite and restricted car parking area.
clean, modern comfortable rooms in a location that is easy for me to meet with family in town.
When checking in i was advised that a Christmas party was taking place. This didn’t bother me until I returned at 10.40 to find my room shaking withe the noise and bass from the function room below. I should’ve been advised at the time of booking and i could have made an informed choice. I’ve stayed several times before, but not sure that i would in future.
Buena cama.Muy buen restaurante para cenar.
Desayuno Ingles completo, grasiento a mi gusto, pero no desayuno estilo buffet. Leche y cereales. Podías pedir huevos y tortilla Poca o ninguna fruta. Pan solo rebanadas. Nada de croissants, panecillos o magdalenas. Los domingo el restaurante esta cerrado para cenar.
The hotel is slightly difficult to find. It's a touch unusual but all in all I enjoyed my stay. Rooms are good, food excellent, plenty of free parking and staff friendly and helpful.
I arrived late and I think they had forgotten about me. If you are going to be late, ring them and ask to be let in.
The room was large and the bed was comfortable.
The music was loud during the afternoon but we went out for the evening, so not sure what it was like after 5. On our return at 10:30 it was quiet. The bathroom in Room 5 could do with an upgrade.
Great food and drink, staff were great
Room was a bit tired, and TV was very small, also the radiator was on all night so it was extremely hot and hard to sleep, and if you opened the window road was noisy, also we had water running all night from somewhere which was not great, we were in room 4
The food was fantastic!
No Abbott Ale, but other ales were available
Lovely staff and a very good chef
