The rooms smelt very musty like an old persons house and the shower was terrible. Couldn’t get the right balance between hot and cold at all. I paid 150$ a night and it was worth about 60$ a night just absolute shocking. One time while I was out they cleaned my room and made my bed but forgot to lock the door. I had hundred of dollars worth of gaming equipment in the room and they just forgot to lock it. The place is a 3 out of 10 and o would only recommend staying here if it’s absolutely necessary.

We booked two studios. The location is excellent however the rooms have a lot of issues. We had broken drawers, no tea towels, no facecloths, no toilet roll holder, broken towel rail, expired milk sachets, no storage in one room, no sky but sign says has 60 sky channels, broken light switches and power outlets were disfigured, dirty cups, dishwashing liquid in Pepsi and Powerade bottles, 1 pillow each on bed per person. If you want a cheap motel to just sleep overnight and spend little time in then that’s fine but really needs some TLC and updating.

When we arrived they had no record of our booking even though we had paid in advance, they put us in a room that looked nothing like the pictures online and smelled damp. Advertised as having 50+ sky channels but not in our room. No hair dryer, the coffee maker was an electric jug. Not great.

Poor communication between staff in terms of checking in. Facilities aren’t up to scratch. Best thing was the Sky and Shower.

I am particularly fussy about hygiene and it looked like the shower hadnt been cleaned properly nor the handbasin

Smells of Mold, old used soap and pubic hair in the shower, mess on the carpets and a general feeling of grottyness. It's like a concrete garage. The customer left after one night, yet they got paid for two nights. We would like a refund. This property is falsely advertising with its pictures and write up.

The motel had spacious rooms and was close to Petone Shops.

Convenient and a reasonable price

The host was welcoming and the unit was tidy. It was an older part of the complex but the room was suitable for an overnight stay. I have stayed here previously in the newer units which are nice. Unfortunately, the hot water did not work which was frustrating for showers in the morning. Hopefully that was fixed after our stay.

Good little area but the room that was given to me smelt musty n dusty everywhere and the shower was still dirty. Plenty of parking but cleaners coming through at 5pm was not it.

Advertised as Executive , very much far from it, would not stay there again, take your ID and CC into another room for "verification", think they are cloning them, receptionist very abrupt and rude

The room stunk when we walked in. There was no smoke alarm, and when notified staff didnt remedy. There was slimy marks on the walls and also a lipstick kiss mark above the headboard. The rubbish bin was broken. There was burn marks on the duvet. And the shower door rollers were rusted and not moving.

It seemed that there was 2 different standards of units and the ones pictured when we booked were for a different paying customer that on WOTIF customers.

The smell in the room was vile to say the least! Cross between musty and wet carpet. The bed was so hard and only 2 awful pillows. No facecloths or hand towels were supplied and the shower was so old its not cleanable. Nothing executive about this property.

A little tricky getting out into traffic as right on the intersection of a busy road at rush hour times even on a saturday. But friendly staff, clean and fresh room. When we got back to our room someone else had taken our park in front of our room, however we could still park in the hotel gounds. All in all great place to stay

Lovely staff and very helpful. The property isn’t very clean and it smells funny. The pipes leak water through the unit.

Only stayed one night so not enough time to judge the whole place. The room was good and spacious. The bed was uncomfortable and dipped in the middle. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work

Dirty plates in cupboard, previous occupants socks found in bed so sheets not changed, shower door didn't shut, dvd player not working, fobbed off by staff.

Had no towels in bathroom, someone called after checkout complaining that we didnt tell them about the no towels. People seem to be living there as we assume not sure though.

Rude staff, couldn’t be bothered to get off a call to even show me where the room was. it’s used for emergency housing so the rooms are not clean, they smell.

Mouldy bathroom, no extraction fan. Feeling insecure to stay.

Stayed here for Foo Fighters. Was clean and tidy. Walkable distance to Petone train station, around 15 mins. Have stayed here before and would probably stay again. Room had basic cooking facilites

Excellent bed but bit lacking in kitchen dishes, cutlery etc

On first glans the room looked great nice and roomy. But after entering the smell of air fresher hits you., then you work out its either the smell of sweat on the top bedding or its the rotting timber on the bathroom doorway. the building looks fairly new and this needs urgent work on it. I could not wait to leave this motel never to return.

Amazing how clean the room was!!! Stayed in a lot of places in Wellington and surrounding areas and this has been by far the cleanest in a long while. Thank you for taking such care in the cleanliness as it was a delight

The staff member at the reception was pretty friendly and welcoming. The room was quite clean as well but Property should definitely consider adding new carpet and curtains in their rooms. It much needed.!! Other then that the staying experience was fine.!!

I liked that it was a basic clean property and close if you're staying in Lower Hutt. I didn't like that there was no hair dryer, and the curtains in the shower didn't keep the water out of the other areas of the bathroom, meaning the entire bathroom was totally wet after each shower.

Location, clean & quite. Parking is a bit tight. Enjoyed my stay there.

Awful place. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless there's absolutely no other option. It's run down and the room smelt incredibly strongly of carpet cleaner or something. It was overpowering and made the space unpleasant to be in. Not reccomended!!!

Handy location

Clean and tidy actively looked after. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor. otherwise Highly recommend this property. Very close to both Petone and Lower Hutt Centres.

Would not recommend the service and attitude of the staff at all. Deeply disappointed in this accommodation would not recommend that people use it unless they are desperate for accommodation. DO NOT STAY HERE IS THE BEST TIP EVER FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT

Wish I read some of the reviews BEFORE I booked.

Was comfortable and relatively quite. My only gripe really was not being notified of the late hours check in (only 19:30 when states open until 21:00). Once a phone call was made, code entered into after hours box, key in hand and straight to room. Parking is a bit tight as there aren't enough off street for every room. Will stay again when next in Wellington.

lights and switches not working in sveral rooms and bathroom extractor fan not working switch flashe and fan would not stop. Management gave us new room on second night but more light and bathroom issues. They prommised one nights refun but 5 months on and several emails and phone calls still nothing

Loved my room, nice and clean and great size. Didn't use the amenities but really enjoyed staying in my room and enjoyed my night.

Non smoking room stank of cigarettes upon check in, second room smelt better, beds are old and very uncomfortable. Pillows or lack of were flat and old. Not 4.5star

The money was taken before we arrived. He called our room an upgrade it was an old house down the back nothing like the picture in the publicity. Yet again a motel servicing emergency housing. Will not be using motels again.

The units are very tired looking. None of the bedside lights worked, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned (hairs in the shower from the last person) an almost finished roll of toilet paper with no spare anywhere. The pull out sofa bed had a badly stained mattress and it didn't have enough bedding for warmth, although when we asked for extra bedding it was given cheerfully. I wouldn't stay there again and will not be taken in by the room picture on the screen.

The welcome at reception was warm and friendly. We arrived and we’re told we had been upgraded to a room with a water view and a spa! We very much appreciated this and had a lovely time.

Was very surprised to see that I had a broken wardrobe in the room, there was no soap and could easily hear the neighbours chatting in the next room. The rubbish wasn’t emptied from the customers before me. Definitely was not what I had expected from the photos on the website.

Very disappointed...our room was nothing like the photos shown on website...far from modern...old converted house with switch board to match...fuse blew due to electric heaters plugged in as both gas heaters did not ignite but did give off strong gas smell. Mould covered large wall area in shower/toilet where the door could not fully close. Long list of general maintenance items. Wish I had read reviews prior to booking

Poor cleanliness and facilities

Ran out of hot water for my shower and doing the dishes. Overall condition of unit is rundown. Although it has a fairly new bathroom it has not been well maintained - mildew and mould evident.

Not very clean especially the cutlery.

Bathroom floor was filthy, sink missing centre of plug. Otherwise everything in okay condition.

We booked a two-bedroom unit. We were "upgraded" to a 3-bedroom cottage. But it was cold, old, did not have the advertised dishwasher, the TV remote control had flat batteries, and the toilet cistern did not stop filling unless you opened the lid and manually lifted the ballcock. The cottage was nothing like any of the pictures on the web site.

The front desk people were nice, and I'm sure the studio rooms are great (as the picture shows) but they had overbooked & I was put in #12 instead, which is essentially an old house - way to big for one person (there were 2 bedrooms with 5 beds between them and another 2 single beds in the lounge). My issues came about with the condition of the house - the mouldy smell was overwhelming & closed my chest, mould on bathroom roof & walls, a hole in the bathroom floor covered by laminate material, shower head held together by tape (although the water pressure was good), torn curtains & stained carpets. A general 'eww' factor for me. I think #12 needs alot of work in order to make it habitable (and healthy) for accomodation.

The water pressure was poor in my room (apt 25) often resulting in no water flow through the tap, somewhat annoying while in the shower. Room was OK.

Lovely motel manager. Standard room was huge but smelled horrible and the fire alarm was bleeping. Needed a new battery. Then we were given a newer room which was definitely better but we found rubbish on the bathroom floor ( scrunched up aluminium foil) and the Skybox remote was missing.

The room was sad, dirty unloved and outdated. I got out as soon as I could the next morning. The light of day revealed an even more disappointing onlook.

Very friendly staff. We arrived late and that was organised very well. Room was very good and despite surrounded by highways we did not hear traffic.

Very disappointing. This is not executive in any way. On arrival, the room they gave me hadn’t even been made up so I had to wait around for them to finish cleaning a room. “Clean” is clearly not understood at this motel. Hairs in the bathroom sink, the tiled wall in the kitchen was filthy, a glass was still wet and had lipstick on it and the dishwash brush and cloth should have been replaced months ago. Beware, these same people own the Midway motel and Settlers motel next door. They have two cleaners for all of these....they should be ashamed of themselves.

The beds were comfy but what we got and paid for is definitely not what was advertised. The place was clean but there was graffiti on furniture, the toilet was leaking and it was like an old state house from the 80s. Not very *executive* or anything like the photos. the staff was friendly though.

Free off street parking,easy walking distance to Petone centre, easy access to motorway. Executive rooms a significant step up in quality/comfort from other units

Booked for three, my partner, son and me. Pull out Queen sofa fine but no sheets to put on the bed. Told them in the morning but was told I should have rung the bell but ferry arrived late and we got there 11.45 pm didn't want to wake anyone at that time of night.

A pleasant stay for a couple of nights in an easy to find location.

I was booked in for the $139 executive suite, standard studio room. I was put in room 11. Dust, ants, mould on the bathroom door which was not fit for purpose - it was more like a pantry cupboard door. Bathroom sink beside the bed. Tv wouldn’t work, microwave didn’t work either as the cables were broken and wiring exposed. Shower plug blocked so I was basically having a bath by the time I finished showering. Strange service - Very unhelpful when I asked to upgrade my room at my own expense (I was on a work trip). The other people on my business course were booked in for the $159 suites which, for the minimal price difference, was vastly better. It doesn’t make much sense to me how they can charge what they did for the shoebox I was in. Bushes were overgrown outside my window so I couldn’t open my small windows unless I wanted bugs for Africa in my room. I have never stayed in such a bad motel in New Zealand.

Do not be fooled! The use of the word "Executive" in the name is completely inappropriate. Run down, tired, ant infected, poorly maintained property. We requested a room change but they were fully booked. We left and found somewhere different.

Worst stay ever, check in useless. Hotel couldn’t find my booking, told me to pay again when I paid already. No effect from staff to assist. Average facilities, for what hotel charges it’s not worth.

Nothing like we expected from the website but it worked for us as a large group. The property certainly needs some work done to tidy it up.....mildew on the window sills and terrible curtains that would not close very well.

Do not be fooled - the photos show the new block, but they will put you in the old wooden rooms, drafty, dirty, smelly and cold. Booked for 6 people and arrived to find only 5 beds, requested extra towels and blankets and only received an extra blanket on day 2. The kitchen was over run with ants, when speaking to the staff they were rude and un-helpful , saying that we booked online not with them so wasn't their problem. Couch had broken arms, the table was wobbly and only held together with a few screws, the tv constantly came up with an error code no HD as it was a basic tv unable to handle to HD Sky tv feed. Will never stay here again!!!

Unhelpful with flexibility due to changes that are typical for business travelers. Work up in the morning to the biggest ant infestation Ive ever seen, and I wondered why I was itching all night. Tried to complain, was told the manager would call me, still waiting, obviously don't care

Rather dated, the picture of the unit must be of an updated room because our room was much older in style.

great location but the rest was disappointing. The room smelled. I thought it smelled like it had dogs in the room .at least that was my association. I asked to be moved and was refused - I was there 4 nights. The room run out of soap and toilet paper and was not re-stocked in the entire time. I will NEVER stay here again.
