The view was great. Loved having the balcony. The room was clean and tidy and the location great for accessing everything we wanted to do/see.

I would recommend more comfortable seating on the balcony.

Unfortunately couldn't make this accommodation due to flooding and road closures and staff were not at all accommodating and refused to issue refund or credit, such a shame.

Reception not manned, had to phone for instructions which was difficult as my phone wasn't working. Had to borrow from a kind stranger. Found working the tv very difficult as required 2 remote controls. Not being tech savvy it was quite stressful and ended up with no tv service and without a mobile could not phone for assistance. Some written instructions re the tv would be useful.

The room had a nice view to the water. The location was ideal and within walking distance of everything we were interested in within Akaroa. The room was clean and comfortable. A few things are dated, but functional. There are some very good restaurants nearby.

Perhaps more power points and an updated microwave oven. But what is there is functional.

The place was just across the road from the water which was stunning.

in a close by unit they played exceptionally loud music til very late at night that carried through to our unit..earplugs may have been good. Sorry.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the accommodation considering the price. In particular, having three bedrooms and a spacious living room was a great advantage, and overall, we were very happy with the property. I had already checked the previous reviews and knew what to expect regarding the furniture and facilities inside the house, so there were no major issues. The only minor inconvenience was that the shower head could not be fixed securely in place. However, the water pressure was excellent, and the hot water was also very satisfying. Overall, it was a great stay and offered very good value for the price.

The location is perfect. We had a room with a view of the water, the evening sun poured onto our balcony making a perfect spot to sit and watch the world pass by.

The check in process was appalling. At 2pm I went to check in. the girl at the counter said she had been over to the room, unlocked it, left the key inside and put milk in the fridge. On a map she showed me where apartment 4 was. Note this was not in the main complex but across the road. What she didn't highlight was that there are two apartment 4s within 20 meters of each other so when we first went to find our room we tried the door of apartment 4 and it didn't open. We walked back to reception and it was pointed out our apartment was along thecroad more. Great we found it, climbed the stairs with our luggage only to find the door was locked. Back to reception feeling slightly frustrated. The girl came with us, she tried the door, yes it was locked. She had to leave us with a master key as she didn't know where the keys were..obviously she hadn't been over earlier as she'd stated. The room is lovely, we settled in. It wasn't until later when we went to have a cup of tea that we realised there was no milk. We weren't going back to reception! I think the whole checkin process needs to be much better organized.

The location is great for the view but could be noisy as it is above a restaurant and bar, and the street.

The reception is poorly sign posted, and the entrance to the apartment was a back way past the bins of two restaurants.

The room I initially booked was supposed to be ocean view and it wasn't so changed to an ocean view and had to pay an extra $10.00. But apart from that it was okay.

Only downside was construction going on across the street but stopped for the weekend so it blocked our view

The location and balcony view were incredible. The spacious and comfortable room, along with the well-equipped kitchen, made for a great stay. The shower was good but the extractor was a bit noisy.

The only downside was the slightly smelly entrance to the apartment on the back of the restaurant. However, the smell was only outside and didn’t permeate the room.

Great location and very good communication from the property. We checked in after the reception closed and we got a text message from the reception with instructions to get into the room and where the key was. Very efficient and good place to stay. We will stay here again given the chance.

No information online about checking in. It should say that there is an onsite reception as this was not explained leading me to call several times and no answer. The shower was terrible. The arm holding the shower head falls off and the pressure was terrible. Couldn’t direct the shower head outwards produce to the broken holder

Musty smell on entering room that open windows and air freshener didn't get rid if. Heat pump loud and noisy. Silverfish in the cutlery drawer. Some windows wouldn't open or close properly. No electric blanket for the cold nights. Soap only provided, no shampoo, body wash. Shower lovely and hot but very poor water pressure. Stairs to apartment had a small tread making it dangerous walking down and no signage to be careful. No one to greet at reception as closed with a sign to ring a contact number.

Location was fantastic - less than a 30 sec walk to the centre of the town. View was gorgeous.

The room was a bit tired - chips in the shower walls, very old toilet, very old and tired kitchen. Could do with a refresh. The balcony door didnt close properly and the heater didnt work so I was quite cold all night.

Location and view was good - the outside seating for Aihe restaurant has an excellent view into the lounge/kitchen area, but great view of the water. Luckily I didn’t pick a room closer to the pier or our view would have been obstructed by the construction going on right outside.

Bathroom had no extractor fan so areas were water damaged and ceiling was mouldy, and the whole place was uncomfortably cold even with the heater on full blast. The power distribution/wiring seems to be outdated, couldn’t have both the heater on and the lights at full brightness or the lights would start flickering. The room was too narrow for the bed - every time you wanted to get to the other side of the room, you had to squeeze between the end of the mattress and the wall.

Fab location. Warm and cosy.

The view was excellent, good shower, comfortable for what it was.

Over the restaurant(would be very noisy in busier months), no table with the chairs on balcony, tired & run down. Cleanliness needs to be improved and bed was not made up well.

Very nice room big bathroom awesome view and balcony. Location was great. Room was well appointed and had everything we needed.

Only complaint would be a small area of painting required in the bathroom where some paint has peeled away.

The accommodation had lots of space, was quiet, and had a lovely corner window with a view of the harbour. Central location, close to shops and restaurants. The style of the apartment was a bit dated but very fun and quirky - we loved it.

It was a bit hard to find visitor carparking when we first arrived. There was a lot of parking but not well signposted where we could park for Reception purposes. Also, the water pressure in the shower was really bad. Otherwise everything else was great.

Accommodation needs a refit as facilities are older and tired. However, you get what you pay for, and the winter rate we paid was fair - however, higher charges for more seasonal accommodation would likely make this poor value.

Stairs up to the room were narrow, steep and the entrance not so inviting.

The location and room for the price was great value until it came to trying to sleep. We stayed in suite 72 which is above the laundry. Every 30 seconds what sounds like a water heater, maybe some kind of valve made a noise that made sleeping impossible. I ended up moving to the couch where it was a bit quieter. The whole family had a very bad sleep and would not have stayed had we been there for more than one night. That’s our only complaint but it’s a biggie

Great location and set out. However living was upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. The only heating apart from electric blankets downstairs was a fan heater in the bathroom. Unfortunately it was too cold for us in winter.

It was supposed to be a deluxe unit with a spa bath according to my booking which it wasn't you could not use the hair dryer as there was no plug for it.

The weather was miserable while I was there but it was comfortable and warm in the unit.

No kitchen towels to clean or dry the dishes. No dish soap. Not enough heating. only one bedroom had a portable heater. Wifi keeps hanging and is unreliable.

Heated floors. Range of games and entertainment.

The property had everything we could possibly have wished for! We really appreciated the help also provided by the manager Darren when we first arrived, as he went above and beyond!

There was absolutely nothing to not like about the property, it was just perfect.

We had a brilliant stay in Akaroa and our accommodation was key to this. Having a nice, open, spacious apartment to retreat to for afternoon naps was perfect. The location was ideal, the views were amazing, and the staff extremely friendly.

Wharf Apartment #3, disappointing, noise from restaurant below frustrating.

We have stayed at the Akaroa Village Inn many times, at different times of the year and in different units, and it has always been an absolute pleasure. The hosts are genuinely friendly, helpful and always available to answer questions. Akaroa itself has become our destination to relax away from everyday life and never having to worry about the quality of the accommodation makes it evn more special.

Location was excellent, the apartment was gorgeous.

Bathroom was missing hand soap, and the bath had a few hairs in it.

The room is warm and clean! The view is superb! The location is ideal! It's nice and quiet! Everything is perfect!
