Power plugs weren’t working for anything except stove

Clean and tidy like always! On our last stay the TV didn't work, the room was cold and we were placed in a 2nd story unit - which is extremely difficult to move gear back & forth to the car for a family of 3 and 2 dogs. I did feed this back to the guy at reception and he was very receptive and made sure on this stay he had us on the ground floor.

Had trouble with the oven, it wasn't doing what the instructions said. Turns out I just needed to switch it off an on at the wall to reset it!

Close to town

Close to the main road meant a bot of road noise Advertised with spa, spa was tepid

The owner is a lovely man. I have a dog and this place was perfect. Booked the Studio but he gave us a bigger room for the dog. We were at the end so lots of privacy. Thank you for allowing dogs.

Loved it all

Easy to find, great location and close to the city. All three rooms, units 1,2, and 9, good sizeas, lots of space to move around inside, very clean, comfortable beds, thanks for the electric blankets and extra pillows, most appreciated. Also thanks for the fresh towels. Cute bathrooms with the door separating shower from toilet, yes! Good car park spaces. Apperciated the wifi access, fast no problems at all.

Unit 9's door was tricky to slide open from inside. Could hear voices from Unit 2 but they couldn't hear ours. Road traffic will always be a big one especially if you have the units closest to the main road.

Easy checkin, friendly receptionist, room a good size for three people, very clean, was a bit concerned about the heater but it heated the whole unit sufficiently. The unit was well stocked. Great value for money. Plenty of room for parking. Comfortable beds. Close to town.

Wasn't a major concern but it was quite noisy being on main road into Whakatane.

The staff are very accommodating and easy to deal with. My stay was quiet and what I needed.

Everything it was very comfortable and accessible to everything! Loved the family vibe the motel gave to me and my family and the staff were very friendly.

What a lovely place to stay! Incredible staff, very friendly and helpful (I asked for a new kettle and a brand new one was brought to my room within 60 seconds!), lovely big room with VERY comfy beds, huge hot tub that was very well looked after. I was able to bring my little dog with me too and it was just perfect, thank you so much - we all really enjoyed the trip!

John and Alison(owners) are absolutely lovely. Clean and tidy motel and our Labrador was able to stay with us. Highly recommend this motel for anyone travelling to whakatane. Nita who is another staff member she is an absolute gem. Home away from home. Thank you so much love us❤️

Easy to find when you dont live in Whakatane.

Whakatane was predicted to be in the path of the cyclone Vaianu during my stay. Alison and John were outstanding. They offered great support and advice. My dog and I had an enjoyable stay.

Very clean owners were very accommodating close to everything

Lovely staff, cleanliness, short distance to big grocery store (10/15 minute walk). Loved the little seating setting and grass area at the back of motel.

Just the traffic in front of motel at peak times was a bit crazy but didn’t bother us too much

It is on main road so the traffic never stops even at night.

The service was amazing the location 👍🏽 the room was very spacious an very cozy

I loved that it was close to where i needed to be for my moko birthday. That i could also have my kuri there with us during the stay.

There was no Netflix on tv we wanted to watch the series on Netflix hehe

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the unit. Also the little notices which was very helpful. eg Tv remote, how to leave the dishes.

The room was spacious. Had everything in the kitchen ready to use. Spare blankets & pillows. There was a heater. The spa looked welcoming. The smoke area.. I liked the information on the wall on what to do.

I didn't like the parking but I'm not a good driver😂

Location, clean friendly staff

No air conditioner, fans provided were older type.

Clean and conveniently located. Good parking for our van. Friendly staff. The unit was a good size and provided everything we needed; very well appointed for the price.

Lack of air conditioning on 2 exceptionally warm nights made for uncomfortable sleeping, although a fan was provided which gave some relief.

Alison & her husband were really awesome hosts

The milk wasn't good in the fridge but it wasn't a hassle for Alison to bring fresh milk

The shower base felt like it was moving under your feet and there was a bit of traffic noise throughout the night no aircon

The woman owner/staff was not friendly to deal with.She made a couple of sarcastic comments regarding the ages of my grandsons, assuming I had said one was 19. I had actually said ages 4, 9,10. The motel was pet friendly...our room unfortunately had a distinct odor that had me thinking maybe this was a pet friendly room, which should not be the case, as most PF motels have designated rooms for this purpose. Overall, I will not be going back.

The fact we were able to have our pet dog stay. Host she explained facilities for ease of use about property. Quiet, clean and the room smelt lovely on arrival.

Can’t think of anything

Staff waited until we arrived which was late. They had turned lights and heater on so room was warm when we arrived. Beds were great, room was so spacious. Had everything we needed. Staff communicated with us ahead of time and made check in easy due to our late arrival.

Hot water ran out after one shower. This affected my opinion on the value for money aspect. However, we were passing through so only in the room for 10 hours and slept most of that time.

Traffic noise.

The owners were super considerate! Our car broke down on our way there. We told them we were going to be late. They told us to take our time, they left the light and heater on in our room, with a movie set up ready to watch! They called to check on us when we hadn't arrived by 9pm. They also said we could have a late check out. John and Alison are very down to earth, caring and very easy to talk to. The next day they looked after some of our gear while we waited fir our car to get fixed and offered to drop us off to the mechanic! We can't praise them enough. It's a dog friendly motel and great value for money! We highly recommend staying and we will be staying there every time we pass through! The location is great and the room is very spacious!
