Sehr schönes kleines B&B mit bester Lage und großem Zimmer mit Gaskamin. Sehr nette Gastgeber die auch viele Empfehlungen für Unternehmungen parat haben. Und ein Frühstück das keine Wünsche übrig lässt. Danke Ron für die perfekten pochierten Eggs🤩.

Beautiful well appointed room, comfortable beds, roaring fire, a cozy lounge, an outstanding breakfast and absolutely delightful hosts. Perfect in every way and a great base for a stay in New Plymouth as there are great restaurants within walking distance and yet it is superbly quiet

Nous avons absolument tout aimé à Hosking House. L’endroit est plein de charme, notre chambre était super confortable et impeccable. Le petit-déjeuner est un régal : produits frais et des ingrédients frais du jardinage. Notre hôte a été adorable, toujours attentionnée, ce qui a vraiment fait la différence. L’emplacement, en plus, est parfait pour découvrir New Plymouth. Un séjour inoubliable — nous reviendrions les yeux fermés !

Nothing we will absolutely stay at Hosking house each and every time we come to New Plymouth

Hosking House is an old late 1800’s home that has been lovingly restored in keeping with the age of the property. Rachel & Rodney make guests feel as if they are part of their family - you are cared for in every way - from crisp white linen, fluffy bath robes, a guest lounge with an abundance of looks & games, to the outstanding continental & cooked breakfast each morning. Pukekura park, the CBD & the Coastal walkway are within walking distance. Staying here was a memorable experience.

Leider wurden wir in der Unterkunft erst zwei Tage später als gebucht erwartet. So mussten wir am Abend kurzfristig mit einem lärmigen Zimmer in einem nahegelegenem Hotel Vorlieb nehmen, anstatt im gebuchten Zimmer zu sein. Offensichtlich ein Problem mit dem Buchungssystem des Vermieters. Unser Zimmer war sehr schön, hatte aber weder Schrank noch gross Ablagen für Kleidung etc. Bad und vor allem Toilette waren offen gegenüber Schlafbereich.

Tricking parking

The room was beautiful, and the attached bathroom came with toiletries. The breakfasts were fabulous and cooked just for us and were ready at the time we indicated each morning. Rachel and Rodney were very friendly and welcoming and had some great suggestions on places to eat. There was even a little jar of treats for our wee dog. Would definitely recommend

Highly recommend Hosking House. The accommodation is immaculate and stylish with many amenities. Centrally located, with an easy walk to Pukekura Park and various attractions. Rachel and Rodney's local knowledge (along with amazing breakfasts) made for a pleasant and memorable stay.

Sink drain was clogged and the bathroom light was too dim to apply makeup.

A beautiful villa with lovely comfortable rooms. I had a lounge and kitchen to use. I felt like I was at home. Very friendly & kind hosts. I was made a lovely evening cheese & fruit platter, rather than bfast for 2 days & on the 3rd I had a buffet of cereal,yogurt, bacon, fritters and fresh veges.& juice Yum. The host even dropped me at the airport, that was unexpected and very appreciated . I will be back .

The hosts couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating, from providing help with food, suggestions for what to see, laundry, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The location was perfect, just a short walk to downtown New Plymouth with restaurants, museums and the coastal walkway and an easy drive to Mt. Taranaki and hiking trails. All in all, a wonderful way to start our visit to New Zealand.

Modern, clean and spacious. Rod and Rachel were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing. Location to centre of town and park was perfect especially if you’re in town for the Festival of light. I really enjoyed the bath after a long walk. A perfect stay for couples and solo travellers.

I loved this bed and breakfast in a beautifully renovated villa. Guest rooms were located on the main floor, with a separate entrance, lounge and kitchen for guest use. Large guest rooms and lovely modern ensuite bathrooms. The breakfast was superb with homemade cereals, toast and a cooked breakfast if desired. A huge selection of all sorts of teas, coffees and other drinks. The location is walking distance to town and Pukekura Park, Marsden Hill lookout, and a riverside bush walk is practically on the doorstep. There is driveway parking provided. And the hosts Rachel and Rodney were so kind and accommodating.

Excellent breakfasts. We were there for three days and had something different every day. The hosts were really friendly and provided lots of useful information for things to do in the area. Great accommodation, thoroughly recommend it.

Very pleasant setting in the sun overlooking the garden Location - very close to the city , but with fickle weather we tended to take the car downtown. Having the use of the sunny living room , plenty of reading material , and excellent info on local activities , eating places etc.

A longer stay would have been nice! Being the only guests we could park in the driveway. A challenging exit on to the road , but ok after the first couple of times.

Breakfasts were great. Room was comfortable and roomy and hosts were very friendly and helpful in offering travel suggestions.

A great mix of continental and cooked breakfast which varied each day. The property location allows you to easily walk into the city and access the local park. The hosts were especially welcoming, and we also enjoyed meeting and talking to other guests.

the house got its historic character … which is fabulous… the host is exceptional… I lost my earrings in the sink … they helped me to get it out… also gave us very useful tips to travel to Taupo… it was a great experience!

Breakfast was a lovely little treat each morning and beautifully presented. Rachel and Rodney were such lovely hosts and very accommodating with our Boxer who was recovering from a bad injury. they went out of their way to make all of us feel at home and especially boxer Jasmine!

Rachel was warm and welcoming. She could not do enough to help us and make recommendations of what to do and where to eat. We had an easy walk to most things and the Park across the road is amazing.If ever you go to New Plymouth you must stay at Hosking House.

This hotel (more like a private home!) is so super awesome that it’s difficult to describe in words. Very very elegant and so spotlessly clean! Very comfortable bed with loads of pillows. Bathroom has shiny polished wood floors with a glass shower and a heated towel rack. Room has a refrigerator and large windows that can be opened for a cool evening breeze. Right next door to a huge botanical garden and only a few minutes walk to CBD and the ocean. But the best part is the breakfast!!!! It’s different every day and includes such things as poached eggs, bacon, toast, corn fritters, jam, cereal and orange juice, tea and coffee. You definitely won’t be able to eat it all!

Outstanding B & B - Best we have stayed in in over 50 years of travelling anywhere in the World. Rachel's professional and friendly service and advice was much appreciated including booking of a restaurant close by on our arrival. The breakfasts were exceptional, equal to any 5 Star Hotel. We highly recommend Hosking House to any visitor to New Plymouth

Hosking House is a real find - located within easy walking distance of the CBD and the Coast. The proprietors are extremely helpful and friendly, gladly taking care of little extras such as booking taxis and restaurant reservations, and the scrumptious full breakfasts make mid-day meals unnecessary! Great value, and highly recommended.

Close to buckland park , beach & city centre. A beautiful home ....cosy & very comfortable.

This was more like a boutique hotel rather than a B&B. Great period accommodation within walking distance of most activities. Just that right mix of Kiwi hospitality and 1st class service from our hosts. The guest rooms are separate to the hosts private quarters providing a nice bit of privacy. Highly recommended.

Rachel made us really welcome, and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is next to Pukekura Park, which is really worth a visit. The hotel is only a short walk from the shops, museum, and restaurants.
