Had such a lovely stay at Nice Hotel. It’s a beautiful spot with so much character and charm. The room was stunning, super comfortable, and had all the little touches that make a stay feel special. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had such a warm vibe. Great location and the food was amazing too. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend for a nice getaway.

Fantastic location & suite was spacious with everything we needed, it was great sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine.

Nice Hotel is such a standout. The way they lean into the building’s history is brilliant, and the staff actually know their stuff—they aren’t just reading from a script. Whether you’re asking about the hotel’s past, the weather forecast, where to grab a bike, or the best dinner spots for those tricky Sunday and Monday nights, they have an answer for everything. Staying there honestly feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket of hospitality. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was perfect, and I was especially obsessed with the amenities—the scent of their bath products is just incredible! We actually live right here in New Plymouth, but we’d book a stay at Nice Hotel just for the atmosphere. It’s wild that we can feel like we’re on a total vacation and completely wind down while being only a five-minute drive from our own front door.

Put in room that was road side so noisy . Back on to kitchen noisy paid way to much for this room should not be a room they use have to walk thru dining room would not recommend had they been up front about room would have never stayed .

The breakfast menu looked fantastic but we were out with friends early. We had dinner in with friends; the meal was delicious, 5star complimented with a fine wine selection.

Terry was a fantastic host - so welcoming and my parents absolutely LOVED staying there. They had an amazing dinner at the in-house restaurant and have not stopped talking about how fabulous their stay was! Highly recommend and I have no doubt, they will return.

The interior looked vintage and like your were inside a old palace. The wall papers were superb.

The dust on the blinds and air con.. Seems like need cleaning..

We missed out on their usual delicious dinner as the restaurant was closed. We have dined there several times previously & the food and service were 10/10

We loved the tasteful decor of the rooms. As this is a small boutique hotel, you must book your stay early. We made a last minute reservation (around 5pm) therefore we were unable to eat at the restaurant on the evening we arrived, and we were unable to have breakfast the following morning as no chef had been arranged. We had read online that the rooms were very quiet had soundproofing - this was not true and we were glad we had brought earplugs. It is quite close to the road and the traffic was noisy. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

The decor took me back!! Quirky and fun. Beds were so comfortable and loved the additional little bits like cookies, toiletries, and coffee machine in room.

It has everything we needed for a comfortable/restful stay. So clean everywhere we looked. The decor is fascinating! It's like being transported back in time but with all the amenities of a modern hotel. We enjoyed visiting New Plymouth but the Nice Hotel is a site to explore in itself! Thanks!

Very welcoming and friendly. Extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. Fabulous surrounds and furnishings. The best restaurant on site with exceptional meals. Definitely a destination in its own right.

Maggi was so welcoming and accommodating! Food from the restaurant was stunning, drink selection was amazing, beds were dreamy and the rooms were so convenient! We loved the location of the accommodation/ restaurant as everything was in walking distance for our family!

The décor was absolutely stunning. It felt like staying in a European home. Terry and his team were warm and easygoing. My room was spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable 3 day stay: a kitchenette, tableware, and a bathtub perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. I also enjoyed a drink in the beautiful garden while reading in the afternoon. A big plus — The Table restaurant at the hotel is one of the best in New Plymouth.

If I had to mention one thing — my ground floor room had beautiful windows, but I couldn’t open it( not sure if they were meant to open). I do like a bit of fresh air each day.

Location was perfect, style of facility great? History of home very interesting. Services offered were good.

A little noisy, got used to it. Bathrooms needed to extractor fans as they got super wet and slippery everywhere.

Professional, friendly, and accommodating staff. They understood when family joined me for the remainder of my stay, providing extra bedding at no extra costs. The onsite restaurant served quality kai in a beautiful setting. It is a great location and close to Pukekura and CBD.

The mini fridge placed inside the wardrobe was warm to touch. I suggest relocating to beneath the bench.

Bedroom next to very busy noisy main road no double glazing, could here next bedroom shower and toilet flushing, cobwebs on ceiling, thick dust on air conditioning unit and both bedside lamps, lots of cobwebs on television and bracket and also dirty toilet. On second day no electricity from 08.45 until 16.10.

Wonderful location with great atmosphere, super friendly staff and comfortable room. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent.

Aptly named Nice Hotel. Quaint and Quirky. Loads of character and charm. Spacious and well set out. Chef provided excellent food. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Handy to downtown New Plymouth. Would stay again if ever returning to the region.
