I was very impressed that even though Fernhill Motor Lodge was not accepting any clients, the owners honored the booking we had inplace. I would return to Fernhill at a later date but I would check ahead to see if they were open to the public yet.

Place is looking tired, recreation room very dusty and there was a strange smell in the appartment

Very dated could do with a tidy up big grab under the outside door could smell smoke from other people that were staying there. Spend a few $$ on the place doing up rooms.

Was disappointed to find the spa bath barely worked, and the restaurant is non existent so I had to order in as I had no vehicle to go looking for food.

Fernhill is a great place to stay with our Golden Retriever when we travel and conveniently located for getting the Ferry.

We have stayed at Fernhill on several times with our Golden Retriever and have found it it to be our home away from home. It has everything we need there and our 'boy' even remembers the room he was in last visit ❤️

Great location for accessing Wellington activities, close to public transport. Good size room and spacious facilities.

No air con so rooms were very hot and with windows open was quite noisy with motorway adjacent.

Staff were really nice. Nice quiet location, very cozy room.

My Stay of choice when in Lower Hutt. Lovely management & Staff, great parking, room was cosy & comfy. Loved the private outdoor table & chairs - lovely sitting in the sun

Dodgey and noisey guests coming and going at all hours, suspect this property is also used for homeless government housing. Full on domestic arguments in the car park and speeding cars coming and going. One guy walked out of the motel and smashed a whole box of beer on the ground out the front of the car park. Unusual odours in room and mould in bathroom

Staff waited as we were catching ferry and we just made it before office closed. Our room was everything thing we wanted for our stay. Recommend to anyone wanting to stay.

Good location

Ground floor room felt and smelled damp. Sofas were filthy with dust and crumbs. Also sheets were clean, there were black hairs throughout the beds which had probably fallen in while they were being made. There were also quite a few holes in the walls and some wallpaper peeling off.

The staff were excellent. Life was made much easier as a result

Been here before, its a bit old and tired, but clean, lots of parking, kettle, microwave, toaster, good shower and 15 minutes from the ferry terminal, all a traveller needs for a night.

Couch was uncomfortable,no heat pump and heater that was provided was noisy

I had trouble finding the place

Suite with two bedrooms was spacious. Had a basic functional kitchen. Location was OK, not too far out of Wellington. On-site parking, friendly and helpful staff. Wi-fi was fine.

Place was old and tired. Our suite was on the Western side and the afternoon sun made the suite hot. There was no air-con so the manager kindly lent us an extra fan. We opened the windows to get some air which helped but the highway nearby was noisy with open windows. Double-glazed windows cuts out the road noise well.

Staff were absolutely amazing and friendly, allowed a last minute early check in without hesitation service is impeccable thank you for our stay 😍 we will definitely recommend and will be back again soon!
