A great place to stay. Warm including underfloor heating in winter. Nice Thai Restaurant on the property. Good bed, great shower. TV controls sometimes did not work. Easy walk into the shops and entertainment area. This will be my go to stay in future visits to Taupo.

It certainly was the right place, right location, and perfect for a quick visit.

The toilet smelled of uri e in our room. The bathrooms are old and I think the urine smell could be in the tiles.

Staff, amenities, Internet, service, powerfull heat pump, everything was clean...

Clean, comfortable, well organized & clear, helpful property info & expectations. Loved having an efficient room heater & a/c. Called to alert I would arrive just 5 min. past the 8p check-in & Ron was very pleasant & accommodating. Will definitely check out other Asure properties.

Parking was good it was clean and tidy, rooms clean and it was very handy to town center,Everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and help full and the owner took an interest in you as a person and always checked to see if everything was ok.. thanks for a lovely stay I would recomend anyone to stay there

little more fridge space would be amazing. Otherwise very good set up and amenities in room. spacious with two double beds and large bathroom. provided secure room to keep bikes which was very helpful. given the number of cyclists/triathletes to the area it's probably worth asking on check-in if people have bikes, as like others we didn't read the full guide in the room.

It had everything we needed and wanted very pleasing

The lodge was ok to stay for 2 nights. No complains. They dont have aircon in the bedroom and leaving windows open during nights is an invite to flying insects. Overall ok to stay.

We loved our stay here. Perfect location, walking distance to everywhere. The room was huge, with a mini kitchen and lounge area. Ron is so friendly. We will definitely be back! We also loved the Thai restaurant attached to the motel.

We had a unit with a lovely new bed and tv so was very comfortable. We don’t like that the bathroom doesn’t have an extraction fan.

The owner of the property gave us a warm welcome to the motel. We booked online and we were shown to our room for the night. The room was immaculate to say the least. Everything we needed was supplied and I would have to say the motel room was the cleanest and tidiest motel room we have ever stayed in.....we have stayed at a great deal of places over the years. While sitting outside at the table and chairs just outside the room door we were asked by the owner if everything was to our liking? Everything was nothing short of perfect and we fully recommend anyone looking for a place to stay in Taupo to book at this motel. We WILL definitely be back again soon. Thank You sooo much for a wonderful stay.

Lucky The property owner called at 5pm to see where we were at! That’s when we knew the reception would close at 8pm and our paid booking could be cancelled due to not checked in in time. It was maybe written in the fine prints but let’s face it. Not many go through t&c. So was grateful that Rob called and we could make other arrangements re room keys Thank you for the call

Friendly welcome. Clean, roomy studio containing everything we needed.

I liked being able to watch Netflix on the tv, and 2 tvs was good, sky tv good. Couldn't watch the lounge tv with the lights on as reflection was unbearable, and no other lights in the lounge. air cond, or something behind it, was like an alarm clock going off occasionally. Bathroom tile grout ugly.

Great place to stay in Taupo - great location and the room was huge with lots of space and great facilities. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a surprisingly nice motel. The rooms are large, plenty of room to relax in. The bathroom was huge and has a lovely spa tub to soak in. Ron, the innkeeper, was very attentive and suggested places to eat. Just a couple of minutes walk to lots of restaurants on the waterfront.

Only stopped for a night on way from Auckland to Wellington. Staff lovely, room clean and tidy and everything you could need. Little bit dated but perfectly equipped.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious. Big screen tv, laundry machine available, iron/kitchen/tea/coffee/hot chocolate in room, big comfy bed, air conditioning works well, shower was large with a strong flow. The room was close to the bus stop, good eats, Lake Yahoo, and the Huka Falls hike. No complaints about my stay here.

Clean rooms with everything we needed. Highly impressed with the owners/staff who went above and beyond when we arrived late. They rung to see how far away we were, told us to please take our time and drive safely as they would stay open until we got there. The accomodation is so close to town and we will be back.

Absolutely 5 star service. Accessibility wonderful. Recommend for anyone one needing wheelchair or mobility access.

Lovely stopover place to stay. Nice room. Good food and craft beers to try. Only downside was no AC it was too hot to sleep even with the windows open and fan on.

The rooms were very clean, owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They recommended places to visit and gave time frames to complete the recommendation, allowing you to either complete or cancel what you planned to do. Also recommending local resteruants to eat. Overall a very enjoyable experience, I would recommend the lodge to anyone.

Our experience with the lodge could not have been better: room was clean and comfortable, high speed internet and just a block from the lake. We had a taxi fail to show up when we were headed to the airport and the hotel owner kindly drove us. We won’t forget the favor!

Pleasant stay good location,helpful staff, recommend this motel

This motel is two blocks from town and about two blocks from the lake. We stayed in a room tucked away in the corner and it was extremely quiet. Every room was occupied and there was a road quite near the bedroom but no noise penetrated the room. The bathroom was a lovely size and really appreciated the "make-up" face cloth. The layout of the room was also very clever with a tv in the main lounge area and the double bedroom but with the bathroom in the middle so that the rooms were separated.

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival . The owner provided plenty of information on surrounding restaurants including the one on the premises. We dined there on our first night and the food and service were fabulous. Our unit was a little dated however was spacious, very well equipped and clean and tidy. The central location meant we had an easy stroll into town for dining and shopping and similarly the lake was within walking distance. Well priced accommodation and whilst not sparking new it represented good value for money and the owner who we talked with was super friendly and helpful.

A really quiet, comfortable and close to everything motel. We also really enjoyed the real coffee and the tvs in the lounge and bedroom was a nice touch.

The Motel was bursting with young people and their parents in town for a sports event when we arrived. The manager in a very friendly manner immediately offered us a solution to our immediate parking needs, and ensured we had space when we returned from work after midnight. Further when hearing of our long working hours he offered to ensure the heating made the room cosy for our return, which he did. Best of all he offered to turn the electric blanket on on our bed so the bed was a warm haven after along day. Thank you.

Spent two nights here and it was very comfortable. Beds comfy close to shops and restaurants. Only one street away from Lake Taupo.

We were late arriving (check-in closes at 8pm) and in a bit of a fluster as we were heading to a family funeral and just got back into the country the same day. The operator had kindly sent us a text but as we were en route we weren't checking the phone ... so there was also a note taped to the reception door telling us where to find our key. Very much appreciated. Although we arrived late and left early, we appreciated the spacious, comfortable room - and spacious, comfortable bed. I was sorry we didn't have the chance to try out the spa bath,

We arrived early, but somehow ended up with the worst situated and damp smelling unit. We hoped that the smell would disappear leaving windows ajar, and having the airco on, while visiting town. I complained a couple of hours later on our return about the smell, showed the unit to the manager, who swiftly put us in an upgraded unit. This part was mostly appreciated. It is however still a puzzle to me why nobody knew about this problem, even assuming that it might have been caused by the heavy rain from some days earlier. There was a coffee plunger in the unit, but no coffee. Couldn't get a reply at the reception in the morning to get some coffee, and felt obliged to buy some coffee "on the go". On my return the manager was doing his rounds and supplied a sachet of coffee. Our upgraded unit was comfortable and clean, nice bed in separate bedroom, a spa bath and lounge area. People without airco experience might have found resetting the "swing" and fan speed a problem. When we arrived the swing was directly aimed at settee. It might pay to have some instructions handy.

Rooms were large with ample parking. Walking distance to shops & restaurants, but needs a complete facelift. Kitchenette very dated & not enough accessible power points to be able to charge multiple devices.

We had the most amazing trip, centred around this place. We walked into town several times, we walked down to the lake. The staff were friendly, even giving suggestions of things to do. The room was clean and tidy when we arrived and cleaned each day. The pillows were fantastic! We spent a good portion of our evenings/afternoons watching tv because it felt so comfortable and homely. Really really recommend!

We had not used the lock on our bathroom door.after use I exited had shut it but when went to use the bathroom again it was locked.We got relocated to anorher room. We where happy with the quick response and problem solving Professional Thank you.

Close to Lake Taupo and town centre. Easily accessible

For a budget Motel centrally located this was OK. Kitchenette is cramped. If you do not smoke be warned the smoke from those next door smoking outside seeps into your room even with windows and blinds closed. Only a small 2 seat sofa which means if 2 in the room get cosy or someone has to sit at dining table. Website says laundry facuilities included not true you have to pay.

Everything was great but the Alleyway Suite was very dark in the lounge. Would not pick an Alleyway Suite again, but would be happy with one on the courtyard.

Great welcome, room large and clean with good facilities, wifi was fast and very good. Easy parking, close to lake and all restaurants and bars in Taupo, this was a good choice for us'

This motel is managed by a manager not suited to managing - flustered, not listening and really not enjoyable to deal with. I wouldn't stay again. The room was clean but pretty tired.

The prince motor lodge is one block away from the confusion of Taupo holiday chaos. It is roomy, quiet and has everything you need in one complex. The added Thai restaurant gives guests more options. The bed while soft was so comfy and the air conditioning meant that you could regulate the temperature to your comfort. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The other guests were quiet and considerate. Would I stay here again? Definitely!

Very conveniently located within a short walking distance to the main shopping centre with lots of good restaurants to choose from.

Stayed one night in a 1 bedroom unit. First impression was that the room was very clean and tidy and all furnishings were in good condition. Bathroom is excellent, very roomy and clean, and for once, the lighting, particularly above the bathroom vanity/mirror was excellent! It was nice to have the spa bath however this benefit backfired when we attempted to get some sleep at 10.30pm. This was difficult because the sound of the spa in the neighboring room could be heard through the wall! This is the main concern I have about staying here again.
