The fact that you have to pay cash. The TV was very poor and kept freezing if you tried to change channel. Really the tv is too cheap and nasty with poor channel selection for what you pay.

Reviewed Dec 3, 2023I have always stayed at Barrington when in Taupo and is my motel of choice.
This time for unknown reasons the noise from the next door neighbours was very loud with chuldren yelling and screaming. They also could look into my room. This is not the owners fault, but a fence like that has already been put up between the main house and the rooms would alleviate this. It is not a criticism of the owners but somehing that they need to be aware of.

Wifi...the connection did not work. I followed instructions, scanned a QR code followed password on instructions and could not login. It was comfortable for short notice.

The tv system (G3?) was unfamiliar to me and took a little time to get working. Our unit was at the back of the owner's accommodation but since we are fairly quiet it wasn't too much of a problem.

The person sitting between the unit and the house, probably the owner or owner's partner, didn't have a word to say. We left the dishes in a place where they would be seen, but they weren't collected for washing. Neither was the next door's.

Room quite small. Toilet and shower areas separate rooms. Wifi cut out constantly. Room stuffy as no air conditioner but fan provided. Ground level and when you have to leave window open for airflow safety can be a concern.

Reviewed Feb 20, 2023It was Immaculate. Superbly maintained and spotless. Never seen such a clean motel room. My room was number 5 which is at the back of the main building, this might have made the room that bit smaller but hey, I liked it
It's not a dislike but the kitchenette was just that and I found it a little difficult to work but that probably says more about me. Oh, the TV reception was a bit poor but that's down to tge situation. I'm at another place in Taupo and the reception is far better.
