Wairoa Motel

We were greeted from outside not in the office real friendly attitude. We were up graded. Our experience at this motel was over and beyond. We will be back.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Friendly staff, Central location

Toilet had not been cleaned properly down near the S bend. The driveway had pot holes

I loved how the room was spacious and cosy

I had an amazing stay, the room was nice and cosy for myself and 2 children/teens. Staff were amazing, I'd recommend 10/10 for anyone to stay.

Quiet location although there were a lot of dogs barking at one stage in the night. The staff were very helpful.

No coffee plunger or wine glasses, although when I asked the reception staff about a plunger, one was found for me in the shed. I just needed to give it a good wash but I was very grateful.

Great wifi but they must have had some filters on as I couldn't watch Netflix or TVNZ+. Unit was very clean.

Chairs were very uncomfortable to sit on. They sloped back. Water pressure in shower was very low.

Quiet neighbouehood

Outdated and long overdue for renovation. Poorly equipped, kitchen utensils very sparingly provided, eg 1 tablespoon for sharing.

We stayed for one night to break up a long drive and were very satisfied with our studio. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The only small improvement would be a more modern sink with a single mixer tap instead of two separate faucets. Apart from that, we felt very much at ease. Communication with the owner was friendly and uncomplicated.

I loved how quiet the motel was, no noisy traffic or anything like that, very clean & comfortable facilities. Friendly staff who checked on me when I locked my keys in the car!

I think amenities like the Tv, stovetop could use some work as there was only sky & there was Netflix but couldn’t get the wifi to work on the tv. The stovetop was a bit difficult to figure out so we went out for dinner instead.

We booked the 2bdrm cottage and travelled from Rotorua. We were greeted by the owner, Mihirangi, who was friendly and informative. The cottage was large, private, comfortable and had everything our family of 4 needed for the 2 nights we stayed.

Highly recommend Wairoa Motel. We stayed for 3 nights and it was truly lovely. It felt like home away from home and was so peaceful. Great location, clean rooms, good facilities and excellent customer service. Big thank you to Mahinarangi who was super helpful, especially with the booking process and getting the appropriate room to cater to our needs. Thank you so much 🙏 We would definitely stay again.

Das ich das bestellte Cottage mir der neuen Ausstattung nicht erhalten habe. Die Ausstattung war alt und durch gesessen sowie die Betten durchgelegen. Das Bad war alt.

It was so nice and homely and the host was amazing we were arriving late and she made things work she also was always willing to help us out and let us know what we needed to know.

The staff looked after us took at night to the RSA Club for Dinner in Private Transport

Location was fine in term of proximity to the event we were attending.

Parking, a bit of a squeeze getting in and out of the parking area.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and it was lovely to turn up to a warm room with the electric blankets switched on after a long trip.

Thank you Mahinerangi for being so welcoming its always good to come back home to Wairoa.

There were great overall amenities and service, and the price was competitive.

Not a don't like, but don't expect that a motel in rural nz is the same as a 5 star big city hotel! Byo hair-dryer.

This town does not have a lot going on at all but it was ok for a stop over on our travels

Excellent staff, super friendly!

Although the beds, pillows, and  towels are great, the bar soap is too tiny. I appreciate the white towels.  Additionally, because the appliance unit is a two-in-one, the hot plates  are positioned high, making it  impossible for short people to cook.

The bed was very comfortbale and the furnishings in the bedroom very modern. I would gladly stay again In the future.

We got rained off at rnv and planned a stay for the same night in the peak of holiday season. Hotel fully facilitated our initial plan to check in at 3am but we had a sulk and came back earlier which was also zero issue. Had the heatpump and electric blanket on ready for us and extra towels, laundry left open and somewhere to rinse the mud off our car. Even let us have a late checkout so we could recover before the rest of the big drive home. Room was toasty, clean and dry and so were we after a rather rough day. 3 very happy campers at the end of our sleep in, zero complaints whatsoever. Very comfy bed, sky tv with heaps of channels and a full kitchen which is a bonus.

The staff was incredibly helpful, kind and wonderful. Staying at this motel made my week and i had never been so happy to sleep in a bed before in my life. The property is beautiful, the rooms are cozy and comfortable and clean and i cannot stress enough just how amazing the staff are. I absolutely will recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Wairoa.

The room wasn't as clean as it should have been toilet bowl hadn't been cleaned and couldn't sleep in the bed. Cleaner was not nice so customer service was a huge let down

No room key so was given master key to use overnight. Lights not working. Smoke alarm hanging from ceiling with no battery. Tatty bed linen. Out of date sky guide and no instructions for tv. Oven not clean. Air conditioner plug imbedded in hole in wall behind bed so not able to use. Room unbearably hot.

A comedy of errors didnt get our stay off to a good start. The motel is quite worn and the room could do with a good coat of paint and the ripped dining chair could do with a replacement plastic cover. On the plus side, the room and bedding was clean and quite spacious and it was a quiet location at night. Would we go back again ................. No, we would look for somewhere else.

nothing really to say about this place not enough utensil in our room only 1 cup for 2 adults but needed a room for 2 nights and nothing else was available

Somewhere to sleep was all that was required and that is what we got.

They had accidentally double booked us, but promptly found us a room in a nearby motel for the first night. The next two nights were back in the Wairoa Motel.

Nice place to stay. Comfortable bed , very clean. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Quiet residential area but a short drive to town.

Motel was perfectly ok for our one night stay.The weather was extremely wet so we only stayed indoors.

Friendly & helpful staff, rapid WiFi, ultra thick bath towels, oven with stovetop, motel is rather dated but very clean, mattress a bit sunken, no hangers in closet, small flat-screen TV high up on shelf, white compact fluorescent bulbs, no "auto" mode on heater-a/c unit, large trampoline for kids in courtyard.

The place was adequate for what we needed. Tidy and pleasant
