Great location, well priced and easy to book and deal with the communication. Small and old rooms but that is what I knew when booking. Would stay again. Thanks.

Noisy people late at night on weekend.

Great value for money. Good location in the central city and being nearby Hutt.

Obviously when you stay over a pub you expect noise. I wasn’t quite expecting people screaming outside the room at 1:00am.

I like the clean facilities and rooms, the shared showers and bathrooms are clean and don’t get that busy. The rooms have a place to hang up your clothes which is great. It’s right in the town centre with the supermarkets and restaurants just a short walk away. The Methven I hub is right next door which is one of the pick up locations for the Methven Ski bus. Checking in and checking out was very easy.

The airfryer doesnt work properly. There is a bit of noise at night but that is totally understandable because it is on top of a pub. I just used earplugs.

The room was above the bar and both nights it was very noisy with a band going till 1 pm on a Friday night and the following nite

The kitchen area didn’t work. Toaster so high up you could not see it. I was in a 3 bedroom room and it would be good to have more hooks to hang towels etc on.

Room decor dated but it was within the age of the pub. Could perhaps do with abit of stairs lighting at night as once the hallways lights turned off it was pretty dark getting up the stairs

Great location, close to Mount Hutt. Nice meal in the pub. Great shared facilities.

They ask you to be quiet from 10pm to respect other guests (totally reasonable) but then proceed to play music with lots of bass until 1am??? The noise from the pub was so loud we couldn’t sleep on the Friday, it was a quieter band on Saturday so we did sleep better but continuously woken by guests leaving the pub until 2:30am. Not a great sleep after a long drive or a long day on the slopes.

Fabulous location right above the pub close the all the happenings. Awesome accommodation for a big group being able to book out lots of rooms and share a living/kitchen area together.

Would be better if pub was open for breakfast.

Küche war eine Mikrowelle. Wer damit umgehen kann, jann auch Brokkoli und Rührei kochen.

The non noise insulation like everywhere else in NZ. Felt like people were talking in my room

That the location was central & we had a restaurant & bar (although it was treated very separately)

The rooms are only accessible from a dark rabbit warren staircase There was little to no kitchen stuff supplied eg no tea, coffee, cups teaspoons, teatowels Even though we were staying we were treated like everyone else entering the restaurant & bar facilities It was very noisey & bright in the rooms (badly fitted curtains & a window that spilled lght from the hall that was not able to be covered) The staff were not friendly and seemed annoyed even checking us in

We left early so missed breakfast.

The burgers were good I had the Big Mac was nice beef & lots of cheese just the way I like it.

Bang for buck, this place is great! The room was spacious and warm, the bed was comfy, and the showers were great. We were there on a Saturday night so they had live music, which wasn't as loud as I was expecting in the room, but I can imagine some people would need ear plugs to get to sleep.

For the price, there wasn't anything that didn't meet expectations.

Felt it was pretty pricy given the vibe of the whole place.

Great location in the heart of Methven

The Duty Manager was berating her staff in front of customers in an extremely unprofessional manner, and seemed to be stressed to the point of not being able to manage her responsibilities. Everyone present was shocked and sorry for the staff and the wider business.

Food was great, staff friendly and beds comfortable.

Was noisy, and same unisex sinks post toilet, and for cleaning your teeth I didn’t like. Couldn’t switch from a 3 single and one single to two twins yet rooms were available.

Good location, facilities were clean and the bed was comfortable.

Take ear plugs. We had room number 12. Do not book that room. It's close to the bathroom. You can hear everything including the drunk people throwing up along with every step the person next door makes on the creaky floors. The room has no lamp so it's either daylight or pitch black, which is really awful when you just want to relax.

Iconic Blue Pub loads of history and suited what we needed for one night.

No direct access from the pub to the accommodation so we had to walk around the back in the dark. Also no hot water for a shower in the morning.

Location is good, right in the middle of town. Close to amenities, supermarket, restaurants, service station (for fuel)

Accommodation is situated on top of the pub. On Friday night, loud music blasted until well after midnight.

No breakfast at the Hotel but supper which was very good

Ace for the price.

Full of character and right in the heart of Methven opposite the ihub where the ski bus leaves from. The room was warm. The restaurant and bar were busy and cheerful and the food was plentiful and tasty. The shared facilities were clean and I never had to deal with any queue.

This is definitely an old style pub and there isn’t much sound proofing. The accommodation is up a flight of stairs. There are no laundry facilities on site, and there isnt a drying room if you are staying here to ski. That said I had enough room to hang up my gear so that wasnt really an issue for a short ski visit.

Good location to eating places... wasn't keen on 3 flights of stairs but it's a big old Pub so can't expect much else..struck a night with a DJ so not much sleep but lots of young folk about to enjoy it in this very small town..It's SKI season so should have considered that when booking...otherwise Staff were pleasant.

Probably best described as a Back packers accommodation so if your into that then that's what you get

An interesting small hotel located in 2nd floor of bar and restaurant. Attractive price. Good fast service in restaurant. Expect noise from the bar before midnight.
