Amethyst Court Motor Lodge

People placing friendliness room as per specs quiet

Rooms are inside a corridor - just need more journeys to the car for all your gear, corridor echoes and doors not soundproof - it was all good until a karen returned to her room 0352 however staff were to talk to her about respecting other patrons.

Go back to normal milk not UHT milk.

Right from the moment I enter, the atmosphere was welcoming. Very friendly front of house staff. I was given two key cards and with my request for both cars (as we were out of town displayers for the WellLug Brick show) to be allowed to be parked on site. You truly made our stay enjoyable. Loved the shower. Very comfortable beds too. We will certainly return.

Nothing

Most comfortable bed I've slept in a hotel ever.

Great location

It provide everything that we needed and more.. lovely and warm..

Great location for attending a convention at Te Rauparaha convention. Lovely friendly accomodating at reception and very kind to allow us parking thank you

The wifi was flashing didn't know how to stop it just put something in front of it worked

Most of all i loved the bed, it was comfy and location was great

It was great all round

The closeness to the mall and the availabile items in the room also ample parking

There’s a dog up the road that parks a lot and you can hear the other people’s doors if they are wandering about but that unavoidable noise

Close to bowling. Clean and spacious

Could hear the road. Had to drag bags upstairs

I have had a few stays here now, and will continue to stay in the future. Always clean, friendly staff. Close to the mall, restaurants and cafes. Walking distance to the train station if needing public transport north or south. Plenty of spacious parking

Convenient location

The shower rooms extremely slippery as the floor stays wet. We normally stay in a spar bathroom with no complaints will book this from now on

I've stayed at Amethyst Court several times in the past and it was always a pleasant stay - but imagine my delight to find the amazing refurbishment by the new owners that lifted this reliable favorite to a whole new dimension! The rooms are stylish, bedding super comfortable, coffeemaking and a microwave, tidy bath, and very fast wifi, safe parking, and walking distance to the Porirua mall, or a short drive to the many dining options in Porirua city.

Beautiful clean room

Nil

Very comfortable, warm and clean.Great location for the train station and for the center city..

No breakfast

Shower head needs some attention. Shower screen doesn't prevent water getting on the floor

Location was great, across from the mall and close to everything you would need in town. Staff / owners were great, they organised a cot for us after requesting.

Room was cold, like fridge cold and the heater was seemingly useless. Room could use a bit of decorating, was clean and tidy but as cold as the temperature.

Clean room well equipped

Washing of our dishes in the bathroom sink

It was clean and very convenient. Had everything we needed

Just needed the beds to be more firm please

Clean and simple place. Perfect for a families

Nothing much

Clean room, milk, tea, warm, train station and shops nearby

Busy road to get across when going for a walk/ walk to shops or train station

Cleanliness and quiet

No complaints

Clean and had everything you need - close to amenities as well

Very noisey from people upstairs so couldn’t get to sleep

good beds, clean with comfy couches

all good

Very comfortable beds, warm and clean and excellent location.

Only grumble was the fridge didn't work.

Easy to find Easy to navigate to close shopping centres

Great location for my needs. Easy access to after-hours check-in box.

Recent knee injury made walking up the stairs a challenge.

The sheets, the shampoo, the suite

Only saw staff on arrival, haven't seen any FoH since. Admittedly they were at the end of their shift, and ready to run, but a smile wouldn't have killed any of them. We asked about accessibility options as husband is recovering from a brain bleed and the stairs looked daunting for him, and we got shut down with a 'No', and they carried on with whatever they were doing before we arrived. Thank you to housekeeping for all that you did while we were away. Very much appreciated thank you❣️The rating was on FoH sorry.

Clean, tidy, warm and comfortable.

Busy road outside.

I have been here before Rooms.are clean and well stocked

Wasging dishes and getting the water from the bathroom - culturally not appropriate

Great accommodation in that the bath/spa was a key feature for us. Close and convenient location. Friendly, approachable staff, no fuss, no bother. Thank you

Next door "neighbors" a bit noisy, making it a bit difficult to sleep, could hear them talking outside until late.

very clean and comfortable

No staff present at all

Close to mall and dinner options

The room has a very musty smell, seemed to be coming from the bathroom but smelled the entire unit out.

Very close to mall and good price for room

Location and staff

Nothing

Such a good location and clean, tidy and lovely staff

Nothing

Warm, cosy, clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. 2nd time staying at the Amethyst and will more likely choose this motor lodge every time I come to Porirua.

Some aspects of the room were very tired (couch, some chairs, table) Plus, no road noise as we were at the rear of the motel. Cleanliness was good.

The room was very clean and tidy. The room was a good size which included a small table and two chairs so no having to sit on the bed. Bathroom was lovely and clean. The staff were very helpful and very accommodating!

A lovely welcome by name when I arrived. Facilities were clean, tea, coffee etc available. Very good location, across the road from the Porirua Mall. Within walking distance to Whitoreia and the Arena.

I really don't have aything to complain about. A vast improvement on the last time I stayed there. ?New owners

Location was 10/10.

No lift, I have bad knee

Convenient to everything mall petrol. Very comfortable.

The wifi box was very bright when lights are off. We covered it with our backpack. I advised the reception .

Clean, tidy, comfortable and serviced daily. Walking distance to the mall, several restaurants and the train station. Easy access to the motorway,

As mentioned above the rooms were clean and tidy, beds were so comfy and staff were super friendly.

Mirror in the bathroom was unusually low to the vanity which annoyed us all. Lounge leather couch needs updating and for 4 people staying, only 3 people could lounge on the couch at a time. You need an extra couch single chair in the lounge. We ended up taking a mattress from the bedroom on our last night there.

Best bang for buck! Staff are super friendly room was clean and well stocked. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, will definitely stay here when I’m in the area.

Can’t fault them at all.

Liked how the dishes were taken away each day and new ones were replaced, this was very helpful as we didn't have a sink to wash them in and I don't believe in washing your dishes in the bathroom sink.

I was disappointed that when I booked the room I didn't understand that there was no cooking facilities. We only had a jug and a microwave. There was an odd sewage smell coming from the drains but once we had a shower it disappeared.

The bed & tv. Most of the staff were really friendly & supportive.

I didn't like having to walk so far to my room. Due to many previous injuries, carrying my luggage & groceries was dangerous & strainful. The room was cold & on the dark side of building. Maybe the staff could b more considerate to the elderly?

Location and cleanliness

Everything

Room was clean and tidy, very spacious. Location was great to walk to our event at the Arena. Staff were friendly and helpful

Nothing

Clean and comfortable - good location

Beautiful, modern, clean. Reached out to us to ensure we would have a smooth check in as it was after hours. Went above and beyond for customer care.

Great location. Clean and tidy... no issues

Everything was excellent. The room is even bigger than it looks in the photos. We were able to do a late check-in, thanks to the very friendly staff. The bed was super comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. I would definitely come back!

Comfortable bed and great location. House keeping also very good.

Sky sport continuously cut out and said it was already being watched by someone else which was highly annoying when we were trying to watch the rugby. Rooms also very noisy could hear people above us stomping around. Needs better sound proofing.
