Everything was fantastic. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and very safe. The resort is surrounded by nature and feels like a hidden paradise in the Indonesian forest. Everything has been built with great love and attention to detail. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming every single day. The food was also excellent
Nothing. Everything exceeded my expectations
Beautiful paradise and very comfortable room. Breakfast was substantial and included and the menu is extensive
Maybe an ocean pool would be good as it’s difficult to get into the ocean as the waves can be rough.
It is a green garden with many paths like a labyrinth and the rooms are hidden away. The best thing was the massage with the sound of the sea. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The food was wonderful, I recommend ordering local specialties in advance. It's the rainy season and there are hardly any guests, so I was allowed to use the yoga seminar on my own. A beautiful moment! Beds are fresh like flowers. The rooms are clean and open.
I liked wverything. Just keep in mind: Suitable for anyone who appreciates nature. There are spiders, insects and frogs, you should get along with them to enjoy your stay.
We had one of the most relaxing stays at Villa Boreh. The location right by the sea in quiet Tejakula was unbelievably peaceful. Our villa felt beautifully Balinese and comfortable, with lush gardens everywhere. The spa treatments were some of the best we’ve had, deeply relaxing and excellent value for money. The on-site restaurant served delicious Indonesian food. The staff were exceptional, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Villa Boreh is perfect for couples and families looking to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy Bali's quieter authentic side. I highly recommend this resort and we'll definitely be back!
It’s important to know that the resort is remote and a long drive from the airport, but that’s also what makes it so quiet and perfect for rest and wellness. Once you arrive, you truly feel away from everything.
Nichts
Everything about this place is AMAZING!! People were super helpful, especially Ari! The food was really nice the location beautiful. Probably the most beautiful place we stayed at. Will definitely return!!
The gardens are wonderful, the staff is lovely, qlways helpful and extra caring. Our bungalow was perfect and they were very accommodating to any of our needs, we travelled woth a 3 y/o, 1.5 y/o and 6 months old and it was a magical holiday.
The place is stunning, great houses, super kind staff and ok food (nothing out of the ordinary for good or bad). Location is stunning, but quite isolated
We had two awkward situations happening.. They gave us an old bike when renting from them that broke out of nowhere and would stop accelerating, even when completely stopped, the only way to make it stop was turning it off, quite dangerous if by chance is someone with not a lot of experience driving bikes. The fact that this was brushed off with a quick sorry says a lot. The second was a bad hair treatment (paid apart as an extra service) where the lady did not know how to take care of dry hair hair properly and made it even more tangled to then pull really aggressively when brushing it. It definitely wasn't a pleasant and relaxing experience. During scalp massage the lady was told twice to be more gentle, the same when brushing the hair but the requests got ignored.
Lovely setting, great rooms and bonus bird Bella
Meals on one of our nights was very average
Property and facilities were great. The staff were very attentive and the meals were amazing. There was a Tucan named Bella that was a pet that hung out in a tree near the pool. There was snorkelling gear that you could borrow to look at the fish in the sea.
The clean calm and comfortable environment
The food
The Villa Borech is a beautiful place — the building, gardens, and overall architecture are very nice, well-kept, and culturally sensitive to the area and local customs while still feeling welcoming and comfortable for visitors from anywhere. Getting there can be a bit challenging since it’s quite far from Denpasar Airport and the surrounding areas outside the villa aren’t really suitable for walks — having a good local driver is essential. I was lucky to have the best driver and guide, Ari, who took me to amazing sites and temples and shared so much interesting information about Indonesian customs, religion, and traditions. For anyone who truly has a passion for Indonesian culture, this is a wonderful base if you have transportation. The food at the villa was excellent — fresh local produce, fruits, and spices, with delicious flavors and options that are clean and friendly for healthy and organic eating. The team at the villa was super kind, attentive, and a pleasure to be around. The Indonesian massages, facial, and hair treatments were absolutely superb! Overall, I’d highly recommend The Villa Borech to travelers looking for a beautiful, authentic Bali experience — just make sure you have a good local driver to help you make the most of it.
Getting there can be a bit challenging since it’s quite far from Denpasar Airport and the surrounding areas outside the villa aren’t really suitable for walks —
the ambiance is great it bought me back to my caribbean culture the staff is great and the breakfast was lovely
no tv but I had my tablet and strong internet
Location, Garden
Very nice and peaceful place
Sometimes insects come into our house But it’s nature 🙂
the place is right on the beach, it is quiet, they have yoga mats in the room, and the food is good. BUT
for a 100 USD/night in a remote part of North Bali I expected way, way, more. (1) The room smelled of mould; (2) the beachfront is not walkable, nor can you really swim/snorkel there ; (3) no dedicated space was made available for doing yoga, besides the "deck" (where people were fishing) or the poolside, which is, well, poolside...; (4) there are two pools, but short and mostly shallow, so not possible to do any laps at all.
After weeks of traveling in bigger cities, this oasis on the black-sand coast of northern Bali was absolute perfection. The room we stayed in was an open-air bungalow and the fresh air and sounds of nature (while protected with mosquito netting) had me sleeping the best I have in months. Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly, and welcoming. They took such exquisite care of us and our kids and made us feel like family. The food was delicious and varied enough that we never felt we were missing out by eating at the resort restaurant. We loved it so much we extended our stay from 5 nights to 9 and will absolutely try to make it back one day.
This place was the total package for us. What is there not to like?!
Such a friendly place, greeted so nicely with a very much needed welcome drink. We will stay here again. It so quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to breakfast later.
We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay, including the exceptional staff, the delectable cuisine, the relaxing massages, and even the delightful bird named Bela, who resides at the resort. This establishment stands out as the finest we have encountered in Bali thus far. If you seek a tranquil retreat, I highly recommend this resort.👌💯
Nothing because this resort is amazing, with great accommodations and wonderful staff.
The staff and hotel were exceptional. They made our family feel very comfortable.. Plus, we loved The Local hornbill bird. He was a welcome guest at our breakfast..
One of the best hotels in the world. Beautiful huge garden in Balinese style, cottages made only of natural materials, no plastic, no TVs, so there is no matrix noise, you can only hear the voices of nature. Everything at a very high level and a really low price. This resort is so good that I would like to keep it just for myself ! PS. Getting to this place I guarantee that it will also be an adventure unforgettable for the rest of your life :))).
I really liked the grounds with lots of vegetation and the location, right on the beach and in a quiet zone.
Overall the hotel left us with a sensation of decadence. A bit run down. A good example of that was the beach bar with is multiple empty aquariums and closed. Regarding the rooms no privacy at all, you can ear your neighbours as if they were in the room with you. Same concern with the bathroom. No hot water at the end of the afternoon.
The toucan & snorkelling. Also the staff, the tranquility, the physical beauty of the resort and coastal position.
The fact we could hear everything our neighbours said or did, very thin walls
The food, staff and the vista tranquility
Bed was far to hard
The food, the garden, the architecture of the property. Bella - the bird :)
All great - nothing
It was lovely. Really beautiful and peaceful.
Nothing that can be changed
Great balinese house, garden and close to the ocean, really exceptional.
The place is magical, The view on the ocean, the beautiful garden, the cabin where we slept but special the staff was really amazing. I can't say anything what disappointed us. By arrival we were received so friendly by the manager and during our stay we did 2 times a tour with Ari and it was amazing how he took us around and showed us the special places in the area. Thanks a lot Ari, we want to see more and next time you will be again our tourguide! Also our little daughter Hannah really love you! The massage by Satya we can also really recommend, she did a great job!
We already miss you Bella bird, the most polite and calm hornbill. Thank you Putu, Ari, Putu, Dewi and gentlemen who caught and cooked us a little fish, and all the staff who engaged with us, many I didn't get names. The villa without walls was next level and very comfortable and joyful-tree-house-like for our 7 year old. The pools were divine. Food was authentic Balinese incorporating local variations and absolutely delicious. Greens are grown out back in a massive and serious self-sufficient veggie patch and aquaponic set up. Even there are goats. GOATS! As fellow organic veg growers we were impressed and this was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed, a total oasis. A hidden gem, off the beaten track that forces you to enjoy the resort and relax!
I loved the spa design, rather smart. Treatments were spot on. The white fish that follow you, added to the natural serenity and my absolute joy. The pillows (not too big and puffy) and mattresses were so comfy, just how we like it! Gardens and architecture an absolute pleasure to be amongst. Our overall score is 11 out of 10.
Sprawling, lush, forested grounds; varied and comfortable accommodation; gorgeous sea-front location; incredibly kind and welcoming staff. Food was healthy and fresh and delicious. They even took great care of me when I was unwell one day.
Nothing, it was just beautiful!
The resort feel of being one with nature. The spa services and the staff were very nice.
The air conditioning system was struggling at our villa.
Amazing experience. Typical of Bali. Ocean side with snorkelling. Great spa. Cooking class was brilliant. Breakfast and dinner was terrific. The villa absolutely met all our needs with a private pool and a private meditation/yoga area. So cool. However, the staff just make your stay incredible. WOW. Thank you Putu, Leah, Ari, Ajik and all the staff

We had booked a villa for the three of us (Beach Alang Alang). The garden and swimming pool were/are wonderful with beautiful plants and statues. We received a good welcome drink (green coconut) and a water kettle for making tea. There were mosquito nets on the beds. There were two bath rooms with hot showers which were fine. The breakfast was very good with (excellent) sourdough bread and home made jam, but it was somehow little - we did not take other meals; the restaurant staff was nice and before closing in the evening asked us if we would like to have dinner. Our driver also told us that he was offered a free coffee at the reception; nice gesture. The place seemed quite isolated - no shops and warungs close by. It did not disturb us as we had a car with driver. The history and culture of nearby village Julah is highly interesting - worth visiting.
We arrived in the late afternoon and had to pay immediately with an additional 3% bank charge. In very few other places in Bali did we have to pay these extra bank charges - and in all other cases we paid when we checked out. Instead of getting a tour of the compound we would have preferred to be taken straight to our accommodation - and have a little swim in the pool (I don't think one can swim in the sea there - but don't know). We would have definitely expected more upfront clarity on what the facilities in such a villa would be, especially with regard to 'number of rooms/beds with air condition'. In this villa we ended up getting one tiny air conditioned room with a very small double bed; - the third person had to sleep outside in the heat; she tried the first night upstairs (stairs without railing) but was 'eaten up' by mosquitos; it was also extremely hot - so she could not sleep. The next night she staid downstairs with a fan - but 'on the stage' next to the entrance - all on her own. In the course of all the discussions about our disappointment we were offered on the first evening to get a second air conditioned room, but against an additional charge; we did not want to pay even more. On the next day we were offered two double rooms with air condition without additional charge; - for one night we did not want to change. We had massive problems with mosquitos - except in the small air conditioned room. We were bitten all over on the verandah and everywhere else - in the pool and when walking around the garden; it was unbearable. The website should indicate this problem and should tell guests to bring very strong repellent.
Great location on the beach
Just watch out for mosquito s
Quite simply the best resort I have stayed in, the closest thing to paradise, I highly recommend to those looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting
Nothing
Wouahhhhh…
Friendliness of stuff, beautiful area, quietness and pacification. Amazing massage, the best in Bali.
That was my fault I didn't pay attention there's no air conditioning. It's a bit too hot to stay for long periods of time without a/c Again, if you are aware of this ahead of time and absolutely okay with that, you'll love the place 10+!
One of the best places I've stayed in, stunning location
The breakfasts & food on the menu was great at Villa Boreh, including their homemade bread, which is good because the distance to anywhere else is a bit far! The staff were very kind and attentive and the grounds were lush and beautiful, with many statues and sacred areas, and very tall trees. The hornbill is a gorgeous friendly bird which moves around the resort freely. I had a spa treatment and it was excellent, well organised, and the spa room was the best I’ve been in- surrounded entirely by ponds and the sound was so relaxing. Our 2 room bungalow was split level with steep stairs, enormous beds, mosquito nets with fans. Very authentic traditional grass room and open air (but does have 2 types of curtains!) The 2 pools were lovely, with views overlooking the sea. Lots of places to sit during the day, and lovely atmosphere at night. There is a tiny gym on the grounds too, but there isn’t a fan in there.
The staff are doing really well here and nothing I didn’t like!
The setting among nature was beautiful. Spacious rooms and magnificent grounds. The perfect place to just lie back and relax.
Not being able to make a cup of tea in our bungalow was a big disappointment. No fridge. For the price I expected more room facilities. The beach is too rocky to swim from - we tried.
This is a very special place not only in terms of Bali but the whole South East Asia. This retreat is the place where you find real peace and quiet. It is created for people who need to unwind. That means that owners make a real effort not to disturb the peace of any of the quests. There is no music at the restaurant, there is no music at the pool, no music in Spa. Instead, you meet nature - the sound of the sea, birds, frogs, streams, and all local fauna and flora including roosters at 5 am :). All maintenance works are done manually, swiping, and cutting grass; nothing noisy is used, which makes this place so unique. Apart from the cleanliness and quality of materials of the Balinese houses, bathrooms, and common places, there are very few guests at the same time. There is also a house pet - a tamed hornbill - that adds to the uniqueness of this place. I need to mention the Villa team - a very warm and caring people! Also, the trips offered here are unique. You can learn how to do Balinese offerings, you can also do cultural trip, go to the real Balinese houses and try to understand their day-to-day. I travel a lot, but there are single places with the soul during the last 2 years of my travel - and this is a gem among them!
The only minus is that to get to the Villa you have to somehow get yourself to the north of Bali. This asks for additional effort and funds. But its worth it!
Breakfast was delicious and healthy.
The mosquitoes loved to bite me, but that was not the fault of Villa Boreh, that's nature. Villa Boreh staff provided a lotion to ward off the mosquitoes, so that was great.
The location; the environment - the gardens are beautiful; the designs of the villas; the restaurant setting by the poolside and sea; the staff are so helpful and warm and friendly - nothing is too much trouble for them; the spa treatments; the early morning boat trip; the pool and pool area; the beautiful, friendly tucan that lives there; Pretty much everything! We spent a truly wonderful, relaxing and rejuvenating two night at the Boreh and would love to return.
The food was good but not exceptional. The bathroom, although beautiful in design, attracted very large ants that were crawling all over the toilet at various times of the day. Perhaps that is unavoidable given the setting.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The food was the best value for money that we got in Indonesia (plenty of protein and veggies). The juices were very good. The room was great, super comfortable. If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge your batteries, then don't look further. The place is located around 4 hours from the airport and you can organise pick-up with the property. Great place to see the sunrise ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We will definitely go back to this amazing place.
Staff, particularly going around with Ari was like being at home. Hospitality by Putu and Chan was at the best. must stay for a calm and layback, away from busy schedule life. not for sea activities or party people. if you want to unwind doing nothing and at serene place, this is for you.
well, it is very difficult to say because everything was amazing! The personal is just outstanding. They were so helpful and nice. I spent my birthday there and they prepared for me a very nice surprise. I can only say, this accomodation is a 11/10. If we are in Bali again, we would definitly come there.
The staff were all really nice. Our villa had a spacious outdoor bathroom with a shower (but we changed from another villa of a similar standard that did not have an outdoor bathroom and it looked pretty dark in there). The bathroom was bright and had some plants growing in there. The shower head worked well and the water was hot. There was daily housekeeping. The garden was maintained well and the pool cleaned daily. Lots of trees and greenery. One of the pool had very little chlorine so our little daughter could use it safely. There was a big degree of intimacy as the villas are spread well apart. It was quiet at night, except some birds screaming at the sunrise, but this is the nature so I enjoyed being woken up actually. There is a choice of different types of accommodation in the resort. Two lovely looking swimming pools and deck chairs. Lots of shade, towels by the pool and nice juices on the menu. A toucan bird-mascot was entertaining (although I’m not a fan of keeping wildlife as pets, this bird has been there for many years and it is old now…and looking quite used to the place).
The food quality was not adequate to the price of the resort, especially that there are additional charges on top of the actual price written in the menu (tax, service charge etc). We tried different options from the card but were disappointed almost with everything (except the juices). Travelling for 11 weeks around this part of Indonesia we felt trapped for the first time because of no healthy options for our 3 years old daughter to choose from and because of the fact that there were no other restaurants around. We were driving on a motorbike around 15-20 minutes one way to reach the warung with some decent food and good ambience. Not all juice’s from the menu available. Very limited choice of vegetables. The rooms in the villas were quite dark compared to other places we stayed, although very clean. No fridge in the room so we had to store milk and drinks in the main restaurant fridge. Breakfast did not impress us with anything yummy. Same with lunch and dinner. The accommodation was non refundable what actually affected our plans. I did not notice that when booking so my bad.
The tranquil serenity, excellent staff, and beautiful location were second to none. The freshest vegies and fruit grown on site and used to create delicious meals. Wish I stayed longer, we'll be back!!
The beds were much than I am used to.
I literally love everything about this place! The bed and pillows and zero noise barrier to your neighbor may be bothersome to some...But honestly, the place is so magical and beautiful even that didn't bother me. I live in Bali and will be frequenting this place for sure. Albiet BYOP (Bring Your Own Pillow) ... but hey... I'm a pillow snob! I had a facial and hair treatment with Trisna that was divine.. And a massage the next day with Sri that was also great!
The bed and pillows weren't super comfortable.
Asking setting with superb staff. The grounds are spectacular and the booking.com photos don't do it justice. My children were especially fond of the hornbill called Bella. It's a really special place. Great massages,
Sometimes somethings on the menu aren't available which can't be helped but it is a bit frustrating
Loved the massages, being immersed in green trees, the friendly staff.
Quiet jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Restaurant staff very friendly and willing to please. Food was a good average. Great place to relax.
The introduction needs refining. Would prefer to go straight to our room on arrival rather than a tour of the property. Ants in the bedroom including the bed and toilet bowl. Food was a little pricey once 21% was added onto the price. Not a place for those who like activity or exploring the local area on foot.
Quiet place to allow to have a good rest during our Bali road-trip. Staff was really nice and helpful at any time.
We should have stay there a bit longer.
The villa is exactly what i thought Bali would be. It is a peaceful place where you can enjoy the nature. The Spa is great, stuff very friendly, the place is clean and very well organized.
The location is far from the airport, make sure to book a car in advance. The food options are a bit limited but tasty.
Very friendly staff and amazing comfort away from the buzz of Ubud or the sud of Bali in general. I was there with my family and we enjoyed the pool, the massage, a short excursion with very nice staff Andy. If you look for a remote place to recharge your batteries, this is the place for you. Amelia, 5, says "2 thumbs up for Bella, the hornbill"
Obviously, when you are in a resort like this, you spend some more money than planned (even if its good value for money). Location is nice but it took us 5 hours from Bali airport due to traffic in Denpasar and Ubud and windy mountain roads in the dark, so dont plan on 2h30 drive ;)
It was such a beautiful place to stay. The location is quiet right on the beach, the grounds are beautiful and room very spacious and comfortable. The staff are all so friendly and helpful.
Nothing, I liked everything!
It’s really beautiful place to stay. Calm so green and peaceful. I love to stay there. I had a really good time staying there. I stayed with kids 3 and 5 years old they love to be there too. I need to admit they gave us nice house to stay with a swimming pool
Nice view and garden inkl pools. not so noisy / chicken scream etc
all good
The host was amazing. We stayed one night, it is a place for a longer stay. The entire crew was happy and showed they love their job.
Swimming pools are a little dirty, they need scrubbing .
This may be our favourite hotel and will be back. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We had originally booked for 3 nights and stayed for 5. Really quiet area and relaxing.
very pleasant and quiet, tropical surroundings kept very clean, staff good and friendly.
