Beautiful beachfront location with stunning views and direct access to the beach. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our family. We loved the peaceful atmosphere and appreciated how easy the hosts made our stay. We'd definitely love to come back.

Geweldige ligging, fijne eigenaren, comfortabel, voldoende inventaris, mooi uitzicht, de hele dag zon op de veranda.

Een parasol zou een mooie toevoeging zijn om ook in de schaduw op de veranda te kunnen zitten.

The location was fantastic with direct access to the beach. The apartment was spacious & stylish with a relaxed holiday vibe feeling. There was a secluded terrace with outdoor seating and inside was very comfortable with air conditioning, dishwasher and a large bathroom & dressing room. Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday, will definitely come again.

Steps away from the beach

Easy access to the beach without stairs. Beach view.

The location was just stunning. The apartment was very modern but had such a cute retro feel. Loved just how clean, tidy it was and it had all the things you need when you are away.

We stayed for 6 nights. When we arrived the door was unlocked but had my name written with welcoming words on the glass in large fancy letters which was a nice touch. The glass sliding door opened up widely to the deck facing the beach. The beach was right in front of the deck and the views were lovely. The kids loved swimming in the ocean that had large waves on some days. The rock pools provided a good area for snorkelling for the kids when the waves were calmer. The prpoerty was very clean and modern and the kitchen was well equipped, including a good BBQ set up that we used one evening. It was really nice waking up to the sound of the beach every morning and being able to slide open the doors wide open as you felt like you were letting the ocean breeze right into the living room. The manager/owners were also very friendly and helpful.

The driveway down to the property from the road was quite bumpy and needed resurfacing. There were some deep groves that the car had to avoid in getting down the shared driveway to the beachfront properties.

Had a lovely time at Golden Sands beachfront cable base stays. We had the unit under the main house which meant it was extra private. The views may not have been quite as good as on the beach but the extra privacy was well worth it.

Our family had a great stay here. The beds were super comfy, pet friendly, all of the things we need at the tips of fingers. The weather was great and the sea was most beautiful at day and night. The air-conditioning was a very big plus as the nights were very warm.

They had other options that were on offer that we would have explored if it was on the bookings.com website. We only came across these other options on arrival as we looked in there book that they had in the rooms. Overall there was nothing we didn't like. Our stay was very homely and great!

La vue, incroyable sur la baie, à littéralement 10 mètres de l’eau. On a testé la Pacific Blue et la Phœnix Red, les deux sont très bien, propres et confortables. N’hésitez pas à demander à Brian et Rosie des endroits à visiter dans la région, ils sont de très très bon conseil !

La Phœnix Red avait des lits à roulette, et ils roulent bien ! C’est pas très pratique pour lire, il faut les caler.

Great helpful hosts, great location!

My sister and I flew over from Australia to take our father (97 yrs old) up to Cape Reinga. He has never been there, and this is a great place to stay to break up the trip if driving from Auckland. It's a great location right by the water, and the apartment has everything you need. The weather was just perfect, and it's all about chilling out and creating lasting memories. A special mention to our hosts who were just your typical friendly down to earth people. Thank you for making our stay very special.

Very comfortable with everything that you need. Was fantastic to have laundry facilities after 10 days on the road. Beds very comfortable.

The location was perfect, right on the waterfront, a 30 second walk to the beach. Parking right out front. Nice and central to local amenities. The view was stunning.

There was nothing to fault this property. Wr had an issue with our bbq but it's was quickly sorted by Brian our host and we were cooking in no time

Beautiful property. Room was lovely and spacious. Streaming services were provided with the TV which is appreciated. The mini kitchen, including the microwave, was perfect since you’re more likely to get your own takeaway in this town rather than go out to eat. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Beautiful views over the water. Parking is available. Wish I had booked for longer.

Not necessarily a bad thing but the hosts literally write your name on the glass wall on the outside of your room to identify it. Interesting practice. So if you’re, for some reason, uncomfortable with everyone knowing your name while there, maybe tell the hosts beforehand.

Het absolute hoogtepunt van deze plek was het schitterende uitzicht over de baai. Ook is de speeltuin op kruipafstand heerlijk met een jong kind en het eetcafe iets verder erg handig. Daarnaast was de gastvrijheid van de host super en deed hij zijn best om mee te denken met onze plannen. De badkamer is ook erg netjes.

De omschrijving zegt dat de kamer retro is. Voor ons voelde het vooral oud. Niet vies verder, maar het stak af tegen de nieuw ogende badkamer.

We had a wonderful stay at Cable Bay. The location is stunning with beautiful beach views, perfect for relaxing and taking photos. The place was peaceful, tidy, and had everything we needed. A great spot for a family getaway – we would love to come back again.

A return stay that reinforced our love for this spot. Right on beach with ocean view to the islands and Karikari peninsula. An excellent return to the 1960s? decor. Excellent bathroom . Beds comfortable. Good workable kitchen and laundry. Great contact with the owner and her Dogs. Would loved to have stayed longer.

An absolutely stunning place to stay. Beautifully presented with everything you could want for a break away. So close to the beach but private as well. We will definitely be back.

Breakfast was fantastic. The motel was pretty, had red touches here and there. Right on the beach, great.

The heat pump wouldn't work, little did we know, you turned it on outside first. The tv didn't work, no light came on even.

Posizione strepitosa, direttamente fronte mare dove abbiamo visto tramonti e albe stupende. Appartamento ben attrezzato, abbiamo apprezzato la lavatrice/asciugatrice personale come pure la presenza della lavastoviglie.

Abbiamo trovato che la pulizia lascia un po' a desiderare. Inoltre suggerirei di rinnovare i mobili (stile retrò è ok ma li aggiornerei - vedi altri appartamenti dello stesso complesso). Comunque la posizione ha fatto andare in secondo piano i punti negativi.

Great location right on the beach. Lovely bathroom and products gave a sense of luxury. We would have loved use of the large deck if the weather had been better. Very comfortable beds, cool retro feel.

Close proximity to the beach/water was superb. The house is compact but snug/comfortable.

Can’t get all the Freeview channels on TV. Spare toilet paper was in the hallway cupboard rather than in the bathroom.

The te reo greeting on the door was beautiful. The host was fabulous. We left something behind and she informed us before we even realised. Then was super helpful in enabling us to arrange collection. Very grateful.

Gorgeous retro, clean styly place! Beach location was fantastic. Unfortunately we were there in a wild storm!! But were cosy and the roar of the sea was a sight to behold!

We loved the retro vibe and all the little extra details that made it feel comfortable. It was also lovely that Rosemary popped in to see if we had everything we needed. We can't wait to plan another stay ( for longer next time!)
