Mulu Marriott Resort

Comfy room, nicely decorated if a bit dated, spotlesly clean, friendly and helpful stuff. Breakfast and dinner were really good. Shuttle service to park office and airport was so useful. We really enjoyed little cultural show prepared by employees plus we got to try blowpipe. All in all great stay.

We had minor frustration with doorlock batteries running low leaving us locked out few times. Staff was helpful, but it took them 2 days to figure it out and change batteries.

The location was ok as it was very close to the park entrance.

The blurb on the website for this place uses "5-star" 2x and "luxury" 5x - IT ISN'T. Firstly the "bus" that collects you at the airport is an open sided cattle truck. There were people having to stand because the bench style seats had all been taken - 5 Star? Absolutely not. The room was old, very dated and dirty. The A/C was a constant rumble such that it required the "roof space" access hatch to be left ajar because it was rattling as a result of the A/C. The pool was ridiculous in terms of people letting their kids run riot, shouting, screaming and generally completely ruining what little ambiance there was. Plus there were nails sticking up everywhere because the wooden decking was rotten. On that note the customers that this 2 star (at best) place attracts are the kind of tourists I would hope to never come across again. Arrogant, self-titled, ignorant and just plain stupid. There is also someone who may or may not be the manager who kept wandering around but completely ignoring the guests, a generally very creepy presence both around the place and in the cafe. Then there is the boardwalks which were being repaired occasionally whilst we were there through the use of a hammer and nails. They were rotten, the railings which one assumes are put there to help prevent a 2-3m fall are rotten and of no use at all (even signage is there stating not to lean on them!!). The wood was slippery, there was cat crap about every day and like the rooms, had never been properly tended to since the place was built. It is a run down, neglected waste of money but gets away with it because of its location. As a Marriott hotel it is shocking.

The staff at Marriott were super friendly, making our stay genuinely pleasant. The bed delivered the comfortable standard we expect from Marriott. We had a minor issue with a couple of towels on the first night, but once replaced, everything was great. A special mention goes to Dalglish! On our first night, we ordered fried rice that turned out much too spicy for us to eat. Seeing that we weren't eating, Dalglish was so attentive—he immediately came over to ask how everything was and happily offered to swap it for a non-spicy version. He was all smiles throughout the service, and that level of care truly made our entire trip memorable.

R Room Wi-Fi was unavailable during our stay, which was quite inconvenient in the evenings. Since the TV relied on a proper signal and wasn't connected to Wi-Fi either, we had very limited entertainment options at night. Fixing the Wi-Fi coverage and ensuring the room TVs have a stable connection would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

Il ristorante offre scelte molto limitate a coloro che scelgono di cenare a la carte, ma è un dettaglio. La natura circostante si fa perdonare qualsiasi cosa!

La camera, la pulizia, i servizi, l'intrattenimento, la piscina, i dispenser per il refill delle borracce con l'acqua potabile.

L'inglese delle receptionist/guest relations non era sempre comprensibile e il wifi presente solo nella reception (e non sempre funzionante.. cosa non ammissibile per un 5 stelle), la tv non funzionava in quanto non era connessa al wifi.

La struttura e’ stupenda, colazione fantastica e staff super disponibile. Abbiamo avuto un problema con il wc e con la chiave ma sono stati prontamente risolti

Rapporto qualità-prezzo pessimo: una truffa totale. Evitate questo finto 5 stelle e scegliete le homestay vicino al parco Soggiornare in questo resort è stata un'esperienza drammatica e fortemente deludente. L'unica cosa davvero magnifica di tutta la vacanza è stato il parco naturale, ma questo non dipende sicuramente dal resort. Anche le strutture e le homestay all'interno e nei pressi del parco, che costano molto molto di meno, sono immerse nella stessa identica, splendida location. Il mio consiglio per i futuri viaggiatori è di evitare assolutamente questo hotel: scegliete piuttosto le strutture un po' più spartane ma comunque molto piacevoli e vicine al parco. Sono decisamente più comode per fare le escursioni e non vi sentirete truffati. Questo posto non vale minimamente i soldi spesi, non ha nulla di un 5 stelle e i servizi sono da ostello di quart'ordine. Il disastro inizia dal check-in, pessimo e per nulla accogliente. Al nostro arrivo non abbiamo ricevuto nemmeno un asciugamano bagnato di benvenuto per rinfrescarci. In compenso, hanno mostrato una fretta incredibile nel chiederci di pagare immediatamente l'intero soggiorno. Subito dopo ci hanno letteralmente "buttato" i bagagli da una parte, lasciandoci lì in piedi senza alcuna indicazione. Abbiamo dovuto seguire la massa per capire dove andare e nessuno dello staff è venuto a chiederci se avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. Alla fine, un addetto ci ha registrato alla buona sulle poltroncine della hall. Una gestione del cliente vergognosa. La ristorazione è da incubo e totalmente fuori controllo: - Qualità del cibo imbarazzante: i dolci erano orribili e sapevano incredibilmente di detersivo. Niente banane disponibili alla colazione. Lo yogurt non era vero yogurt, ma una sostanza chimica che sembrava "Okkipuro". La panna cotta serale era chiaramente riciclata, fatta usando lo yogurt avanzato dal mattino.

We loved how in nature this property is was, it most definitely has the wow factor!

Just a few unfortunate negatives. There is no WiFi in the rooms, for the sake of the property being in nature we get it, it’s nice to “switch off” although, the tv didn’t work either. All channels were unclear or had no signal, so with a 6 year old son, this became quite problematic as we spent most of the time falling asleep or silent. The food, what there is available is mostly good. But often a lot has run out, curry’s with no meat left (at 7.30pm) the pancakes under the lights at breakfast(if there were any) were totally cold and hard. The butter in the dishes is also expired so that made toast of a morning quite awful, but being the hotel and the experience was amazing, it was a small price to pay, although food was most certainly not 5 star we still enjoyed our time there

ハイシーズンなので3家族近い場所がよかったが部屋がかなり離れてしまった。大人数の旅行の際は事前に確認しておくといいかもしれない。

Rooms were comfortable as expected. Found the booking process with Marriott Bonvoy inadequate and therefore had to book through a third party=, so missing out on reward points.

Felt the breakfast could start a little sooner as some of the tours start early. A clear schedule for transfers may help, as it can be a little hit or miss as to when they arrive depending on other transfers happening at the same time, eg airport run and park bookings. Boardwalk to the rooms were a little worn and slippy at parts.

Ok ... just stay here. Seriously. If you are planning to go to Mulu which, btw, is a special and exceptional experience in itself, the Marriott Mulu is such a treat. It's not a 'Marriott' in the tradition sense. It is a lodge, in the jungle, with a pool and a fab buffet (definitely worth getting the breakfast and dinner inclusive option). The staff are wonderful, the environment feels like a treat but also like an experience. We booked directly with the park when it came to our tours so I dont know the costs of those via the marriott. Big shout out to the fabulous and jolly driver who schleps people to and from the park. He encompasses everything we should be. Enjoy this wonderful lodge and the treat of being there (the pool is wonderful!). And the NP is fabulous. Spend more time there if you can.

The staff is amazing, especially JJ. She went out of her way to make the stay memorable. She made sure we were comfortable in the resort, organized tours, and even did a birthday party! Without her, the place would have fallen short of expectations. The room was comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were good considering the difficulty of getting supplies in this remote area. The baked goods were first rate. The swimming pool was great after a long day visiting the park. The airport and Mulu National Park are nearby. The bar was comfy. This is the place to go in Mulu.

Es un hotel con amplias y cuidadas habitaciones, con un buen desayuno, piscina para poder descansar y con servicio de shuttle gratuito al aeropuerto y al parque nacional.

Las habitaciones no tienen wifi y la TV no estaba bien sintonizada.

My stay at the Mulu Marriott Resort was exceptional. The room was spacious and had a very luxurious feel, with thoughtful touches throughout. I particularly loved the bathtub and the high‑quality amenities provided. The air dryer was excellent, the coffee machine offered Nespresso‑style capsules, and the staff were very attentive in keeping the water bottles and coffee supplies constantly topped up. Even the fridge was well designed — completely silent, which made resting very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, with an impressive variety of both traditional dishes and Western options, all fresh and beautifully presented. Dinner was à la carte, and every dish I ordered was well prepared, well presented, and of a consistently high standard.

What's there not to like?

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful hotel, set right in the rainforest. We could hear the sounds of insects there, and see interesting insects and birds just while walking around the hotel. The breakfast/dinner hall has a beautiful design. Breakfast was good, especially given that you're in the rainforest. They had a Sarawak cultural performance on one of the 3 evenings when we stayed, at 8.30 pm, unfortunately we only saw a part of it as we had a night walk that evening. The free shuttle to/from the airport and the national park is very convenient. The shuttle doesn't have a timetable, but it will run so that you can join the guided walks at the national park (we were asked to come and wait for the shuttle 30 mins before our tour). The shuttle is also available in the evening so that you can join the night walk at the park.

The tours offered by the hotel are very expensive - we just booked the tours directly with the park HQ (via email, it was easy), it was much better value. The main course for dinners was not very good on 2 out of our 3 dinners, and the salad bar could be improved.

Mulu ist beeindruckend - der Nationalpark im Dschungel mit Bergen, dem Fluss und den Höhlen ist ein Traum! Dass es hier ein Luxushotel gibt ist an sich schon erstaunlich, und das Mulu Marriott ist wirklich etwas sehr besonderes... Perfekt in den Dschungel integriert, sehr sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, ein schöner Pool - sehr entspannt und einfach Luxus. Die Essensauswahl ist lagebedingt etwas eingeschränkt aber immer gut, das Ayam Panshu war großartig. Ich war für 6 Nächte hier, das Zimmer war großzügig mit perfekter Klimaanlage und wurde täglich 2x gereinigt - ich habe im Zimmer nie auch nur eine Mücke gesehen... Durch einen Flugausfall musste ich meinen Aufenthalt verlängern - die Unterstützung durch den Hotelmanager und die Rezeption für die Anpassung meiner weiteren Reiseplanung war herausragend! Mein Aufenthalt war traumhaft und wunderschön - ich bin sehr dankbar, dass ich hier sein durfte!

De hotelkamer was heel erg mooi, in het bijzonder de badkamer.

Het resort ligt in de jungle, wat geweldig is. Det brengt ook met zich mee dat je met minuscule kleine diertjes in aanraking komt die je liever niet in je kamer wil. Gelukkig is het personeel bereid daar snel een einde aan te maken. De prijzen voor excursies zijn gewoonweg te hoog vergeleken met de prijzen die het National Park aanbieden.

Komfortable Zimmer mit den üblichen Mariot Standard, verteilt im umliegenden Wald und über Stege Erreichbar. Das National Park wurde mit einem Shuttle Fahrzeug nach Bedarf in ca 5 Fahrminuten erreicht.

Das Motorgeräusch des Stromgenerators ist überall zu hören, vor allem Nachts. Nach der ersten Nacht haben wir ein Zimmer auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite. Dort war es etwas leiser, jedoch das Motorgeräusch war immer noch da, so dass der Aufenthalt auf dem Balkon überschattet wurde.. schade, es hätte perfekt sein können.

No mirror in the bedroom area (there is one in the bathroom). No hooks for towels in the bathroom.

Staff services was excellent, food at Marriott Cafe was exceptionally good, rooms big and spacious.

Sehr schönes Resort, große Zimmer mit toller Ausstattung, großes schönes Bad. Alles über Wege auf Stegen zu erreichen, mitten im Regenwald gelegen. Auch der Pool war sehr angenehm. Das Personal superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war lecker, auch wenn es nicht immer alls gab, was auf der Karte stand. Wenn man bedenkt, dass alles per Flieger dorthin transportiert werden muss, ist das verständlich. Die Ausflüge zu den Höhlen waren gut organisiert, toller Guide und kleine Gruppe.

Everything was lovely about this resort but what really stood out were the very gracious hosts/hostesses there, from the reception staff, to the restaurant staff, to the cleaners and the gift shop girl. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and most accommodating. The swimming pool was lovely, the children enjoyed it thoroughly. The shuttles were frequent and quick between the resort and the National Park

The hotel is so close to the park and you can see bats flying around the hotel after sun set. Room was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. All facilities were beautiful and always clean. The food was very good.

Fantastische Lage mitten im Regenwald! Besser geht es nicht. Shuttle Service funktionierte sehr gut zwischen Hotel und Mulu Nationalpark und Airport. Fahrer sehr freundlich. Anlage insgesamt schön aber schon in die Jahre gekommen was bestimmt auch am Klima liegt.

Frühstück ist ausbaufähig. Service könnte da aufmerksamer sein. Abendessen im Hotel Restaurant können wir nicht empfehlen. Haben 2 mal dort gegessen und waren enttäuscht von der Qualität und dem Umgang mit Reklamationen. Hier stimmt Preis Leistung nicht.

Eine wunderbare Lage mitten im Urwald, sehr einladend gestaltete, gepflegte Zimmer, schönes Restaurant mit guter Küche, aufmerksamer Service. Sehr geschätzt haben wir den perfekten, vom Hotel kostenfrei angebotenen Shuttle-Service zwischen Flughafen/Hotel und dem Nationalpark-Headquarter: jederzeit abrufbar, kaum Wartezeiten, überaus freundlicher Service!!

Die Menüauswahl ist oft ziemlich eingeschränkt, der Service zählt bei der Menükarte erst mal auf, was „unavalaible“ ist. Auf Reisegruppen scheint die Küche zudem schlecht vorbereitet zu sein, dann ist das Büfett schnell leergeräumt, ohne das es ‚Nachschub‘ gibt. Auf den zweiten Blick besteht ein großer Instandhaltungs-Bedarf: die Vordächer z. B. über der Restaurant-Terrasse sind überall undicht, teilweise rauscht das Regenwasser in Strömen durch die undichten Stellen, die Klimaanlage im Restaurant funktioniert wohl schon lange nicht mehr, in den Ecken stehen einige große AC-Boxen, die mit Mühe den großen Raum abkühlen. Manche Türen zum WC sind im unteren Bereich völlig aufgeweicht und modrig. Die Sitzauflagen bzw. Sessel in der Lounge etc. sind mit Flecken übersät und verschmutzt, durchgesessen und/oder zerfranst.

Mooie schone ruime kamer met heerlijke douche. Ontbijt was goed verzorgd en het personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De koelkast op de kamer werkte niet en binnen 5 minuten kwamen er 2 mannen een nieuwe brengen. Super service.

The location was fantastic, and the rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable.

The only thing that let it down was the lack of available choices on the a la carte restaurant menu. However, what they did manage to produce was very tasty.

L'ensemble de l'hôtel et sa situation exceptionnelle. L'amabilité de tout le personnel, et sa prévenance. (Nous avons eu un gros souci de vêtements et de chaussures mouillés, et tout a été lavé et séché, y compris les chaussures!) Nous avons apprécié la disponibilité de la navette de l'hôtel, qui permet de rentrer à n'importe quelle heure du jour ou du soir, sur simple demande.

Nous nous attendions à avoir une connexion à Netflix, mais tout ce que nous avons trouvé, c'est la possibilité de s'abonner pour un mois! Nous n'allions pas nous abonner pour un mois, en restant 7 nuits. Sur ce chapitre, le technicien n'a pas été très efficace.

Our stay at Mulu Marriot was amazing. The hotel was beautifully set in the rain forest and so well maintained for comfort and style. The hotel staff went out of their way to look after us and make sure we had everything we needed. Our family enjoyed the tours arranged by the hotel to the National Park. Mulu was a real highlight of our trip to Malaysia. Also love that the hotel is working hard to make sustainable choices to reduce waste and keep this amazing environment beautiful.

Leaving! It was so nice we wanted more time. One small suggestion is to encourage guests to refill a personal drink bottle for the day trips to reduce plastic bottle waste.

The premium room was lovely, spacious, comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. Breakfast was varied and very nice. The location and hotel is lovely! We were lucky enough to have good weather, so were also able to enjoy the pool, which is relaxing and perfect for a long weekend! The free shuttle from and to the airport and national park entrance was really practical!

The choices on the menu for dinner were quite limited and there were 3 items which weren't available on both evenings, one of which I would have liked (beef randang). Otherwise, the dishes we ate were only ok, nothing amazing and also quite expensive! My wife ordered the pasta carbonara and it wasn't really carbonara at all and the portion was very small as well. I ordered the burger one evening and the burger itself was good but the fake bacon wasn't great, the coleslaw was sweet (yuck!) and I was given hardly any chips.

I had an amazing stay at Marriott Mulu! The room was absolutely stunning—spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The surroundings were breathtaking, making every moment feel special. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable; their warmth and friendliness truly made us feel at home. It was a long stay, but every day was filled with happiness and great experiences. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

The stay was wonderful overall, but I did feel that the food options could be more varied, and the cocktails didn’t quite meet expectations. It would be great to see a wider selection to match the fantastic experience elsewhere at the hotel.

Mulu resort is een echt unieke plaats midden in het oerwoud van Borneo. De staf is bijzonder vriendelijk en geeft veel advies voor activiteiten in de buurt. Het comfort van de kamers is hoog, de ontbijt faciliteiten zijn uitstekend. Verblijf in dit resort geeft je een absoluut unieke ervaring! Het gevoel ver van de 'bewoonde wereld' te zijn is bijzonder. De enige verbinding met her resort is via een vliegtuig, bedenk dat in de moesson periode deze verbinding ook kwetsbaar kan zijn.

・国立公園から戻りのシャトルバスを呼んだだが、すぐに来ないことが何回かあった。電話で呼ぶ以外にwhat's upで呼べると良かった。 ・夕食で150RM/人のBuffetを食べたが、味や種類も含めて今一つ。

The location amongst the natural, unspoilt surroundings. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Always to hand and nothing was too much of an issue for them, exemplary service! The food selection for breakfast was most impressive, catering for everyone's needs and dietary requirements.

Food selection was limited during our stay. Half the menu was not available probably due to the low season.

The room was perfect. Luxurious, spacious, clean and quite. It looks beautifully in such a remote place. Breakfast had a lot of options.

The prices for lunch and dinner were a bit high compared to the other restaurants in Mulu. The quality was good.

We liked the low-rise design of the hotel, deluxe king room was spacious and comfortable, buffet and a la carte menu in the restaurant were varied - especially good curries - service was friendly and helpful. The spa was excellent - we highly recommend the Balinese massages.

Hôtel magnifique, le confort au beau milieu de la jungle. Tout est fait pour être dans le dépaysement avec le maximum de confort. Les petits déjeuners et les repas sont très bons, les excursions sont superbes, les chambres très belles et spacieuses. Un paradis au milieu de la jungle
