Outstanding venue! Old, well-kept villa that was very nice and comfortable. Cocktails on the lawn patio. Shuttle to Venice was an unexpected treat. Restaurant was very good and the staff personable and helpful

We liked our stay at Villa Barbarich this August. The history, property and surrounding area are so peaceful! The staff were kind and helpful as well. The only negative was that we felt the carpet in the rooms was very worn and in need of replacement. The bathroom lighting was also very dim. Older eyes need better lighting. Other than that, we enjoyed the villa.

It was a great quiet retreat to end our vacation. Beautiful grounds and great staff! Restaurant has a variety of food options.

The property was beautiful and very close to Venice. The service was exceptional. The included breakfast had a variety for every taste. I highly recommend Villa Barbarich.

Beautiful place to stay, close to Venice, but in a quiet secluded area. Second floor room was large with high ceilings. On-site parking was available for those driving in.

We loved the villa’s classic old world charm and modern amenities. Even though it’s not located directly in Venice, the free shuttle service makes it a great alternative at a reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever had during my travels in Europe, and dinner service was equally impressive. Our wait staff, Ilisa and Francesca, were professional, attentive and friendly. We’ll choose Villa Barbarich again for our next visit to Venice.

Villa Barbarich is a lovely place to stay. The building has unique characteristics and it is in a quiet location. Staff are very kind and helpful. We would definitely return and recommend this as a “home away from home”.

The 2 staff at reception were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Above and beyond what was expected. My only complaint was that the pool wasn’t open, which was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. Apparently it doesn’t open until May.

We spent two wonderful nights at Villa Bararich! It was beautiful and terrifically clean and quiet. The breakfast was yummy and evening meal very good. The shuttle driver and front desk staff were very helpful with transportation and meal arrangements.

Free shuttle , taxi service for a fee , free breakfast each morning and bar but no restaurant. Need to taxi a taxi to get around you can order food and have it delivered. But we will stay again .

Beautiful place, easy shuttle access to Venice

Stayed in a big loft like room. Nice big bed that was very comfortable and quiet. The pool was terrific and peaceful. Great breakfast. We stayed here because we were on a road trip and wanted to be close to Venice but have parking and space. It exceeded my expectations. Good value.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic breakfast buffet to enjoy and very welcoming staff. We are vegetarian so there were a couple of options but not enough option to keep us eating in the restaurant each night. We had our dinner on the first night and went elsewhere on the others.

very quiet and serene

We really enjoyed staying at the Villa Barbarich! They had a shuttle to and from Venice which was super convenient, but the train station was also a short walk away and was another great way to get to and from Venice. I am so happy we stayed here compared to right in Venice, gave it more of a luxury holiday feel. The breakfast every morning was great and the staff were lovely. We had a garden room facing the pool which we really enjoyed. The property is so beautiful and has a lot of history! There’s even a nice path to walk behind the hotel. If we were ever to come back to Venice we would stay here. The only downfall was the flys!! When you were sitting out by the pool they wouldn’t leave you alone. But that’s just nature!

I lovely place to stay with convenient shuttle to Venice. We will be back.

I’m not usually one to write a review but this was a truly exceptional stay. The villa is so beautiful and peaceful, the service is exceptional and the food is divine (and very reasonably priced considering the quality) I cannot recommend this place enough. They even offer a shuttle to get to Venice island included in the price of your stay.

This villa was very beautiful and lovely to be away from the busy Mestre and Venice. You’re surrounded by beautiful gardens and water but only 30 minutes away from Venice via bus or train. Elena was very helpful when we checked in to explain the best ways to get around and into Venice. The room was spacious and beautiful as well and dining was spectacular. The staff is friendly and helpful with a bar open until 2300 and a wonderful breakfast option in the morning. Highly recommend staying here

I am glad to say that Villa Barbarich is one of the best Hotel that I have been; the location, the service and the food make your stay comfortable and pleasant.

Very Quaint & charming place. It was a nice place to rest after a long flight. The dinner was extremely good & a bit pricey - but romantic. Enjoyed our stay & nice to get away from craziness of Venice. Would definitely stay again - wish we had time for the spa.

Exquisite historic immavulate authenti Villa modernized for comfort. Dining was a delight and Daniel at the front desk catered to every guests whim! What a lovely was to experience Venice. The free shuttle everyday was convenient and pool was so peaceful and beautiful. The staff was absolutely excellent.

Beautiful villa, peaceful and quite, wonderful breakfast spread and excellent chef’s menu for lunch and dinner (we tried and loved everything). The staff here is wonderful, and there is a free shuttle to and from Venice (so you can visit during the day and get away from the crowd at night). Top notch place!

Wonderful property. The historic villa is a visual delight. The pool was so nice on the hot days. There’s a spa and massage services for an extra expense, very reasonable. Wonderful breakfast. While the building, the rooms and the location are beautiful, what sets the Villa Barbarich apart is the staff. The staff is so very friendly and helpful. We spent 32 days in Italy, in dozens of hotels. Villa Barbarich had the nicest staff of all.

Its a lovely location, feeling like being in the countryside. Great pool. marvelous dinner setting in the garden. Our waiter Salvatare looked after us , organized a tasty seafood pasta the 2nd night on our request. Receptionist have been awesome organize Covid test locations, hairstylists etc. Oak beamed ceiling in our room hotel has character. Free shuttle into venice.

A really relaxing location and away from the Venice crowds yet easily accessible by car or hotel shuttle. Old property with Venetian charm. Particularly hot June so tge outdoors pool was a bonus. Clean and refreshing. Pool service was a little slow but nothing significant. Booked a king deluxe and the first room we got was dark and facing the parking lot. After some persistence we managed to get a nice bright (big) room.

The staff was so friendly and jumped to help us. I was worried about the language barrier but they spoke English as well. Beautiful setting and the glass chandeliers and Fresca’s were amazing.

Restored old building with great frescoes in the 2nd floor dining room. Great place to relax and get away from the craziness that is Venice.

The hotel was beautiful, the swimming pool was great and lovely comfortable rooms. The breakfast waitress Christina was very welcoming and attentive.

Lovely manshion like hotel beautiful wall murals. The outdoor swimming pool was outstanding. A great locatiom bus stop outside with regular buses to Mestre or even direct to Venice itself. Tickets for public transport available from the hotel. Restaurant excellent.The menu is limited but the food is delicious.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were all excellent and very friendly but we noticed at the airport that they had charged us for a number of items from the minibar that we had not had! Obviously not checked properly and as were on a rush we did not have time to check. So, we were overcharged by about 50 euros leaving a pretty bitter taste in our mouths. A disappointing end to a good stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Francesco, who couldn't do enough for us. Hotel itself was beautiful, our room was beautiful and sheets/towels changed daily and bed made. Pool absolutely amazing and very clean. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from and so glad we added this to our booking!! Location just outside of Venice (centre) but transport really good (bus stop 2 mins walk from hotel-literally round the corner, catch the 5e or 6e) and if you catch the bus before 9:30 you can get a direct bus there which only takes about 20 mins. After 9:30 you have to get the bus then tram (or another bus) which adds another 10 minutes to the journey but very cheap and buses/trams run very frequently - every 10 mins. Only negatives from hotel were the ants outside in the garden area as we got bit quite a few times and some of the food can be quite expensive compared to local alternatives.

The hotel and grounds are excellent and have real character. The ground floor rooms have private gardens which is quite special. Breakfast is good and served in the main restaurant which is spectacular due to the amazing frescos. The hotel is quiet and relaxing and the staff are very helpful. Public transport in to Venice is via bus and tram and are good although busy and takes 45 minutes. Taxis are about €35 and takes around 20 minutes. The restaurant is pricey but the food is good.

This is a gorgeous Villa that has been restored and a new wing added in keeping with the historical look. We had a large suite, very nicely appointed. Buffet breakfast was terrible, no food, no staff and many complaining.

I have stayed her many times and it is always excellent.

The character of the hotel was great, the location too. It's ideally situated for places around the whole area.

We booked a suite for 3 days, it costs 240 euros per night! Not worth at all! There are TV in both sitting area and bedroom, we can't find any remote and asked for it, but the staff told me the TV in the sitting area was not use for watching TV, it is only use for showing a welcome message to us! How ridiculous ??!! Window was broken in bedroom, we didn't dare to get close to the window, so we didn't have much chance to enjoy the view for our whole staying. For toiletries, we found none of the toothbrush nor body lotion, but found FOUR bottles of hair conditionier ?! After cleaning of our room next day, the glasses were not cleaned and no refill of the teabags, so we didn't have tea time on that day... Wifi was only good at sitting area, not at bedroom. Not much choice for the breakfast buffet, I asked for hot coffee with hot milk, but the milk came after my coffee got cold already. No refill with coffee, too. Pool opens at 10am, isn't it too late to open for a traveller? It's our very first time to experience the pool which open that late! It could be acceptable and understanding if the room rate is below 100 euros per night, but it costs 240 euros per night, I have to expect more, am I right?

property looked better than the pictures, but unfortunately we did not get to spend the night due to an apparent leakage , which no other guest knew of, and we felt we had been transferred to possibly make room for guests who wished to stay for a longer period, felt cheated and very disappointed, possibly put off using expedia if this is normal practice for the hotels they offer.

The room was fabulous. The breakfast was average minus and the car parking is far from the room/reception and no assistance was offered (but also we didn’t ask)

The hotel was full of character and history with beautiful murals on the walls and ceiling in the restaurant. Our room, although not huge had a lovely private garden with direct access to the swimming pool and an excellent large bathroom. There was a well stocked frigobar in the room and tea & coffee making facilities. Although we had a very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel we found the restaurant and bar extremely expensive.

I had given my son and daughter in law a 2 night stay as part of their honeymoon trip. They told me that they really enjoyed their stay at the hotel and that everything was very comfortable. I have stayed at the hotel myself with my daughter on my trip to Venice 2 years ago and thought the hotel, staff and grounds were beautiful. The bar tender was particularly attentive and went out of his way to make our glass of wine and nibbles special on the patio.

A beautiful hotel. The rooms were immaculate, large comfortable beds, fantastic bathrooms. The dining room was amazing. The outdoor pool looked well kept in lovely grounds.

Located on the mainland and not the islands, but ideal if you need parking and prefer day trips in. €20 for a day pass which includes bus & tram to the islands (30 minutes and very easy) and also includes water taxis all day. The local area is also loaded with amazing restaurants which are much, much cheaper than the islands and possibly some of the best food I have ever had! The hotel itself is amazing. Pool and gardens are amazing and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Decor is old school but nice and makes you feel like your in a traditional roman villa! As if that wasn’t enough breakfast was awesome. I throughly recomend this place as a cheaper alternative to staying on the islands (particularly if your driving) but not passing on any luxury!

I liked that it was easy to get to, the busstop is not far away and you can connect to any where from Mestre Centro. The staff were very helpful and kind

Location is good and away from City. Considering the rooms and food and accessibility, rate is very reasonable. Staff has been courteous and helpful . Overall a good place and would love to be back here with family soon .

Beutiful Hotel, within reach of Venice. Attentive staff and comfortable surroundings. Only 2 niggles with the whole stay were a limited hot choice for breakfast and limited entertainment on the tv for english clients.

Hotel Villa Barbarich is simple amazing with a royalty feel to it. The hospitality is second to none, the decors are stunning, the property is well maintained and the rooms are breathe taken. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful, very welcoming and flexible.

First impression late at night ; dinner in the dining room. Few vegetarian options and costly. After nice sleep woke to fabulous buffet and was able to appreciate the frescoes and refurbished villa. So lovely. Would return for sure. Hope they will offer free transfer to /from train station in future. Easy to catch bus or get to Venice or Mestre .

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is beautiful with very helpful staff and comfortable rooms. The restaurant is also excellent. We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Venice. The hotel has a shuttle to Venice at 9:30 AM and a pick-up in Venice at 5:30 PM. We definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Best Hotel outside of Venice in Mestre. Beautiful with parking! Easy trip to Marco Polo airport. I’m a frequent traveler and “know of what I speak”.

Wonderful Hotel 15 Mins from the Marco Polo Airport ( The Hotel can be contacted in advance to lay on a Taxi to pick you up - E35 each way ) The Hotel also lays on a free Shuttle Bus into Venice ( across the Straight ) free of charge at 9:30am and pick up at 5:30pm ... you can of course just use it to go into Venice for the Evening.. a taxi back will be about E35. The Rooms were good and the area very peaceful. The Breakfast is included and was also great. The Restaurant was very impressive and service brisk from the friendly staff. The best part was the Swimming Pool which is immaculate in the lush green lawns and also had a Jacuzzi attached. The Hotel also offers a free Gym and Steam and Sauna room for the cooler months.

Peaceful setting, Only 15 minutes from Venice. Hotel is ultra clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Special thumbs up to Francesco and Sofia for both making our stay extra special and for going above and beyond.

This place was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful with whatever you needed! We saw Francesco and Sofia at the front desk the most, and they were always so helpful and easy to talk to! They have bicycles that you can use if you want to explore the small town mestre a lot quicker! I wish we would have known that earlier in our trip, but we never asked until the end. The pool they have is really nice, but it is cold! It felt great while we were there because it was 90 the whole time, but it did shock us the first time we dove in! Breakfast is complimentary and is really good! We had coffee every morning with a nice selection of fruits, veggies, eggs, prosciutto (looks like fat bacon, tastes like ham), pancakes, croissants and more! Carmela was wonderful! We stayed for 2 weeks and had dinner 2 nights there. We had heard it was expensive and the portions were small, and we are budget travelers. The first dinner we had, I got lamb and the spouse got fish and veggies. Both plates had quite a bit of food on them, and we left full. The 2nd time we both got the lamb, and the portions were significantly smaller, and we left still hungry. The rooms are great, but you can hear everything from surrounding rooms. It said check in wasn't until 4, but we got there at noon because of our flight schedule. We were exhausted from flying, and they had a room ready for us, so that was a huge plus! All in all, a wonderful place to stay, and we will probably return next year!

Was strange that front desk lady came to the room after check in! Motel style front desk! Room was uncomfortable: No window to open. Spa is really outdated and not useful, no steam in the steam room!

A beautiful room in a quiet location. 15 minute walk to a large shopping mall. Valet mini van to venice was a very welcome addition.

I really enjoyed staying at Hotel Villa Barbarich. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was great. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.The hotel is close to the airport. They also sell bus/boat tickets at the hotel. My friends and I took the bus to Venice. The bus stop is very close to the hotel. It was convenient. On the last day, we did not have time for breakfast as we had to leave early morning for the airport. The staff offered us a to-go breakfast ready at our checkout time. I was impressed. I would stay here again if I come back to visit Venice in the future.

Beautiful hotel, a 15 min drive to Venice and a short walk into the village where there are a few shops, cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours! A wonderful haven after the hustle and bustle of Venice. Lovely pool and gardens. Great food in the restaurant - try the fish it is amazing - and the setting with the frescos on the wall is stunning. Our room was very comfortable. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We hope to visit again in the future.

The place is amazing, very clean, the staff is very friendly and professional, breakfast is amazing and to top it all it also has a spa you can relax in after a day of walk around Venice. The villa offers a free shuttle to and from Venice as well, but you have to register for it at least one day in advance. In conclusion, you can't go wrong with this place, we would definitely stay there again once in Venice.

This hotel is a real gem!!! The hotel is a very old Italian Villa. We went through the dining area taking pictures after breakfast (highly recommend the buffet). The staff was extremely friendly and showed us the rooms in the old Villa. Frescoes on walls and ceiling are original. The bedrooms are added onto the Villa, so are newer. Rooms open to an outside patio The beds were very comfortable.

Our recent stay at Hotel Villa Barbarich was beyond our expectations. The hotel itself a fantastic 16 century mansion remade modern and comfortable. The staff was exceptional in everyway, the Chef a master with a dining room restored to its original beauty. We could not have asked for a better hotel, with free shuttle to Venice the hotel was quiet and set on a beautifully manicured lawn. The staff was there for you and we could see they enjoyed their job and took pride in everything they did. Thank you for everything.

The Hotel Villa Barbarich lived up to the expectations from previous reviews I read before I booked. We arrived at 9am but the very helpful receptionist said our room was available for us which was great as we could unpack and set off to explore Venice for the rest of the day. We bought a 2 day pass for the public transport at 30 euros per person and used the buses, trams and waterbus. We also used the hotel's free shuttle service into Venice one morning. The room was fantastic and the food in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner was very good. Thoroughly recommend a stay

Very nice location for a wedding. But also nice for a couples getaway with spa facilities. Breakfast was a feast everyday in a hall of high frescoed ceilings. Rooms are very clean, in condition and with SMART TVs. It was a blessing to be able to switch the movies from Italian to English. 2 shuttle times in and out of Venice. But there was a convenient bus/tram service which could take about 45 mins each way, if your timings aren't exact. Service was very good and friendly.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Breakfasts were very good with a huge selection of different foods. Very easy to get to Venice from here by bus and tram, and you are able to buy the tickets for these and the water buses from the hotel, which is vey handy. There is a large indoor shopping centre a short walk away, and in the other direction there is a nice little village with some shops, including a wonderful patisserie/cafe. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to visit Venice.

We stayed at Villa Barbarich for our mini moon and it was perfect. Hotel room was spotless with very comfortable beds. I would recommend this hotel as long as you don't mind a 40mins bus ride into Venice.

Dining room like eating in the Sistine Chapel--frescoes walls and ceiling. Food and wine delicious. Very large pool. Only negative was that parking is 100 meters away from entrance.
