Traveler's Inn

The room was ok . Had to check in at another location. The address did not match up gps took me else where.the bed was lumpy but very clean

The Traveler's Inn was a good basic hotel with a comfortable bed and good temperature settings. It's inexpensive by Kenora standards and I would recommend it. The Traveler's Inn must have an arrangement with the Travelodge across the road. We arrived late and had to check in at the Travelodge to get our Traveler's Inn key. This would not normally be a problem, but I have mobility issues and we had to cross the Trans-Canada Highway from one hotel to another, without a traffic light or crosswalk.

We stayed at the Traveler's Inn for two nights, in September 2025. The Traveler's Inn is an aging motel that has had a renovation not too long ago. The check-in process was a bit unexpected as you must go to the Travel Lodge across the street to check-in and get your room key. Thankfully, one of the other guests let us know. We did the same for some other guests the next day. The Traveler's Inn is conveniently located for travelers using the Tras-Canada Highway, as the motel is immediately adjacent to the highway. As the highway traverses Kenora, the speeds are reduced to 50 km/h, so road noise is not noticed in the motel room, most of the time. The downtown core of Kenora is a short drive away. Wi-Fi worked well and room key did not need to be reprogrammed as we have had that as an issue at other motels/hotels in our travels. The Traveler's Inn meets the needs of travelers.

Clean room, convenient location.

Very convenient location. Few minutes drive into downtown. Lovely bike trails nearby.

We booked the room prior to reading the reviews. The reviews for this facility were terrible. We asked for a refund but the agent that I chatted with on the Expedia app contacted the hotel and asked for a refund on my behalf but was denied.

The room was as expected for a motel. No office at the building or note on building saying you had to walk a block to another motel to get key.

We arrived there around 12 am to quickly sleep before having to drive again. First there was a lady walking down the road that wouldnt stop talking to me even when my dog wouldnt stop barking at her. Later on there was a drunk guy throwing cans on the floor infront of the building and check if doors on the motel were locked and peaking threw the windows. The bed sheets had blood on them and the floor didnt feel very clean. The bathroom was clean and the staff were very helful. I wouldnt recommend this property because of how bad the area is.

It was dirty, they cleaned with an strong chemical but they didn't rinse

If you enjoy sleeping in an absolute dump, complete with dirty bedding and a horrid stink enjoy this place for just under 200.00!! Better off sleeping in a tent

It was a nice clean and comfortable room to stay

This was a Travellers inn associated with Travelodge, which I didn't realize. Location was on a busy street. Room key failed to work after returning from dinner. While we were having a nap in afternoon hotel staff unexpectedly came in to our room. Would'nt stay or recommend this location. Jim McMullen

The property is in a very bad location on the street and is in questionable repair as well as the owner did not list all relevant information in advertising. Do not stay here.

Not what was described

Overall, it is a good motel for road travellers

Clean room. Good beds. Great breakfast across the street. Yesterday Restaurant.

The room had an overwhelming smell of some kind of cleaning product overall was not impressed

This property was great, provided you fulfilled the conditions necessary to escape a few caveats. It was quiet! For your head being meters from the trans canada. It was clean! If you remembered not to step on the floor with bare feet and feel the layers of bleach awaitig a reawakening on your skin. It was fine! But it was certainly not more than that. Maintenance guy, however was a legend; almost worth it to have something broken in the room! (in this case the inescapable window).

Location has lots of nearby eateries.

They did not honor the credit card we booked with. Our employee had to pay for the room himself. I am worried about being double charged and will have to watch for that.

Small and gross.

An exorbitant price for very little.

Wall are paper thin can here everything.

At least the roof did not leak...otherwis overpriced for the quality

Had to check in across street at another hotel (was a sign in window you can’t see at night. ) Very confusing. Was expensive for a very basic room!

Nowhere does the hotel inform you that you have to check in at a different hotel across the street! I had to learn that from negative reviews. The street included drunk people passed out and screaming. Worst value hotel I have ever used.

If you can find better or even camping is better than staying here .Been to Kenora before this time of year accomdation fills up . The placeis noisy because of a road going by ,I had touse ear plugs.

Noisy area of downtown, inconvenient parking and no reception. You have to cross a very busy highway to check in at the Travelodge.

The inn is seperate but have to check in at main hotel up thebstreet with no access to those ammenities

Very expensive town to stop over for the night. Although it was the least expensive. I usually get the last minute deals for $100 to $125 that includes a breakfast. This room cost $250. This very small room with one double bed was quaint. Included mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Having said that I got the last room. Personally I will plan my trip better to get off the road sooner than or later than stopping in beautiful Kenora. Again, i wasnt on vacation. I was just passing thru

It was a basic double room no frills but was perfect for us travelling through. Small fridge and microwave meant we could have a non-restaurant meal for a change. Bed was comfy, Shower was good. Parking was convenient either in front or behind building but do note, you check in across the street at the TravelLodge as there is no desk at the Inn. Was easy to travel with the dog and walked the nearby neighbourhood. Lots going on in Kenora over the weekend but it was quiet through the night. Close to lots of nearby shopping and restaurants.

The room: clean and unfrivilous. Appropriate for travellers in need of a night's sleep. This is not reflected in the price. The front desk help across the street were helpful and professional in the midst of the most chaotic scene we've ever walked in on. Whatever they are paid, they deserve double.

It is on a busy street and it was hard and unsafe to cross the road to check in. There is parking out front but difficult to access so I parked in the back and wasnt even sure if it was their parking. The restaurant across the street was good. I dont think it was the safest area, Lots of homeless people in the morning sleeping by the restaurant.

Clean, outside of property not clean. Location very hard to access and park. Office in separate building down the street on opposite side of busy road.

The room was great modern and very clean. But was charged alot more than reservation on expedia.

For the price the rooms were small but, clean. The air conditioning was noisy and in my opinion did not do an adequate job cooling the room. The bed was ok and the pillows were a bit overstuffed. The accomodations were ok for one night. Anything longer I would want a larger room

Sewer smell from the bathroom. Very small.

You have to book in at another site across the road, but a sign indicating this is hidden by parked cars, making it confusing. The room was small but clean, the bed was a double, but the mattress was squeekey and uncomfortable. The price was low compared to other properties in Kenora, so I guess we received what we paid for.

You have to check in to a hotel down the street. You have to walk across an unsafe highway to check in. No ice available. Mat inside front door is super slippery.

You get what you pay for, just a place to lay your head nothing special. If you can fall asleep that is.

The lady at the check in desk was not helpful at all. You also have to check in at a different hotel, the room is very small. I stopped here for a night and the price was expensive. I would go somewhere else.

Confusing check-in across the street at Travel Lodge hotel. No signage to indicate this. Found out when called the hotel.

By good luck after I parked a housekeeper saw me looking puzzled and told me to go across the road, past the restaurant and check in at the Travelodge

Need to fix the “sewage smell” coming from the washroom. It was clean overall but the odor in the room left my clothes smelling like it also. Parking is not for beginners if you have a large vehicle. Just barely fit with the sidewalk just behind the vehicle. Just beware for early drivers. Other than that. It was ok

Travellers Inn is a sister hotel to the Travelodge. The price we paid was outrageous for what we had. We checked in at the Travelodge and walked 1/2 a block to the Inn. We walk in to an icebox, the a/c was crancked. The smell of the cleaning was overwelming, if anyone has a scent allergy, we do not recommend.

This is Tavelers Inn MOTEL. No office on property; go across road to Travelers Inn Hotel to register and anything else. Looks unappealing outside, but someone is trying to clean things up and the inside is clean, with all modcons in unit, although somewhat elderly.: HasTV, microwave, coffee, bath/shower, 2xdouble beds. Not the lap of luxury, but good for nightor two in transit. Cheapest in Kenora mid-July and available last-minute.

I had to cross a very busy street to check into the travelodge, which was not the place I was staying. I was provided a room that already had a family in it. I had to wait for the front desk clerk to bring me another key to a different room. Very dissatisfied

rude

DO NOT STAY HERE. I stayed one night for 220$. They have a major sewage problem. You will not be able to sleep in those rooms. They did not tell me about this and they did not offer a discount. I wish I knew before I booked.

Check in down the road at Travelodge Room took me back to my flatting days

Too high price for those rooms Net worth the money But on the other hand All day places in this area are very, very, very overpriced

There was little vacancy available in Kenora. This was the only room we could find that suited our budget. Very sketchy neighbourhood, a lot of cracked out people in vicinity. Stairwell to go up stairs looked like a homeless person was squatting there. One of the beds was covered in dead bugs from the dirty AC unit. Management refused to do anything to make amends. Way over priced for this dirty room.

Was a little confusion to check in as the main lobby is at a different hotel but was perfect for over night stop

No frills but a good place to lay your head for one night.

Will not likely stay there again. No breakfast which was advertised asbeing offered. Floors were very dirty. Scary parking when you have a truck. Noisy. TV didn't work. Wifi never did connect to any of our devices. And no breakfast for the price.

Interesting experience. Arrived to find that there is no office or check-in desk. A woman sitting outside a room directed us to the Travelodge, a block away. They checked us in, then upon returning to the Traveler's Inn, the Hells Angels arrived (yes, the real thing). With thin walls and ceilings, it was a noisy night. The bathroom floor was not thoroughly cleaned. For the price (high), terrible.

Extremely dirty room and bathroom, massive stains on the sheets and house keeping left the toilet unflushed, i left the motel and didnt stay the night and stayed in my car instead

Ac didn’t work

Convenient, very nice clean room

Very clean and nice room

Recently renovated and very clean. Not much parking and very close to road, but minimal noise.

Just passing through town quickly while driving to Calgary. Great stay for the cost. Awesome indian food next door.

Everything about this place is awful except the lady that checked me in. Stay far away from this placd, its dirty, stinky and you need to check in across the roaf which is weird. Find another hotel, this place is a dive and not worthy of your money.

Great store in front

Just by the road, an Anex to a main hotel but apart.

Terrible sewage smell coming from drains. Didnt like that we were 6ft off the main road.

Motel has been upgraded but still feels old. Did not turn on A/C because had years worth of dust inside the vents

Found used needle on the stairs The room stank of feces Room was not cleaned

It was interesting that we had to cross the busy street and sign in at the Travel lodge

The base boards around the room have never been cleaned, and the floor around the perimeter of the rooms had massive dirt build up. The toilet had been USED and not FLUSHED prior to my arrival, and the bedsheets were stained. The family staying above me had children who wouldn’t stop running and stomping, but even when they went to bed at midnight, it couldn’t be helped that the rooms have no soundproofing since you can hear every snore and footstep. The inn is also about 20 feet from a busy road, so you can hear every vehicle driving by all night long. The entire room smelt like it was entirely smothered with a bar of dove soap, giving a false sense of cleanliness.

The hotel service desk is across the street and this was not clearly labeled as after I parked, it was not clear how to get a key. Room itself was clean and comfortable and very basic. Overall, it was good value for a overnight stay on a road trip. It was priced less than almost all other options in Kenora but it was in the end the most expensive place we stayed in on our trip across northern Ontario.

Property accepts credit cards only. No office available. Must check in at travel lodge to get keys. No elevators. Small rooms

The hotel was mis-represented on the website concerning price, because we booked and there were no other rooms available in town, ended up paying $225 (original price was $162) for a room you can get for less than $100 in any other town, was an old building renovated poorly, office was down the street in another building, wifi would not hook to the internet, would not recommend to any travellers

The motel was not as advertised seemed unsafe, had NO lobby and had to walk half a block across the busy road to pick up keys to check in!!! Utter garbage there is a reason why there are NO pictures of the building! It seems unsafe, unclean with zero amenities. If I could give zero stars I would!!!!!!

Good

No good

My and my two young children were woken up at 1 am to screaming and fighting, doors slamming, paper thin walls, small rooms, small beds. I would rather sleep in my truck next time before paying 170$ for this.

Check in was across the street. Thin walls, other guests talking loudly until 3am. Was overpriced by a minimum of 100 dollars. Would not stay here again. Ever.

We enjoyed our one night stay

It was a very ok place to stay

The descriptions for the office is so hard to find. We need to call 3 times to have the directors. So hard to find a cheap hotel in this city. Not my best experience till now. The room is good but i just went for sleeping one night. So no further comments.

Used needles on the premises, needle in washroom. Rooms were recently painted but mold was coming through the paint. Horrible.

Zoe at front desk was knowledgeable, professional, kind, & attentive. Zoe helped me upgrade my experience to suit my unique needs. Exceptional customer service

Kind of a pain to have to check in at travelodge across street but no big deal.

Very clean

Nothing

Property was not plowed, someone eventually came by but proceeded to plow us in. The keycards only worked the once and then not again. The phone didn't work, had use my cell phone to call rhe front desk about the clogged toilet. Definitely stayed a better places for way less $$

The room was very small. There wasn't a hair dryer. The internet kept cutting out. It was way overpriced.

The Inn was not lit and looked like it was closed. An Old sign taped to a door directed you to check in across the street. There were no amenities such as a restaurant. It was noisy with traffic noises and the voices of other people from their rooms. it was clean but very sparsely furnished with only a bed, a small table and two hard chairs and a TV hung on the wall.. No art on the walls. It wasn't very welcoming. Didn't know who I would contact if I needed extra towels etc..Not worth the price. I would describe it as a place you would only want to sleep a night and leave asap. The service attendant across the street gave me the news there was no restaurant and directed me to the restaurant next door which was very good and he also gave me two free bottles of water.

No hot water

Sheets on bed were dirty with hair on them. Floor was dirty. Bathroom was clean though. People partying in hotel till 4am.

Enjoy my stay

The room had not been cleaned at all. Food left unmade bed dirty. Needles around the area. Expensive. We did not stay.

The property was outdated way to close to highway. Noisy. It was not clear where to register sign in a door of another building other than hotel informed us to go to travel lodge to register. Pleasant staff during registration. Rooms were small difficult to regulate the heat.

Noisy and small.

There is no staff. Note on office door saying to check in at travel lodge across the street. This should have been noted in reservation. Address is incorrect, gps took us to a neighborhood. Patches on walls in bathroom, did not bother to paint. Stairs need handrails on both sides, and need to be sanded.

There was blood drops on bedsheet. The windows lock were broken. Small insects like spider was all over the room. Very disappointed. I have pictures of these.

Notting

Terrible room. There were flies inside the room and the room had a weird smell. We couldn't stay even 10 minutes there.

The price is too high for the facility that we get
