We loved the solitude. The beach was great. Wish I knew we could gather clams and oysters. I would have been better prepared. Next time.
It was all good.
Tuwanek hotel has gorgeous views from the top floor rooms and is incredibly romantic at sunset. Stayed in the Casablanca room and the massive room has a king bed, full body shower and claw foot tub. The hotel also allows you to use their Kayaks & paddle boards on the water in their backyard. This place has a very unique setup for their hot tub underneath a bunch of grape vines that add such a cool atmosphere while enjoying the tub. There's also a steam cave, bbq, smoker, multiple areas to relax and a firepit. Highly recommend staying here for your anniversary or romantic getaway.
Beautiful room and location. Perfect for couples
Property has lots of character and great activities on-site.
This place is an absolute dream. If you're interested in a cozy atmosphere not far away from town, this is it. You found it. We stayed at the sunset Beach suite, which gave you access to their game room. It has a mini fridge, a bar, a pool table, and a home theater room. It is well stocked with board games, fishing gear, as well as a couple of guitars should you be inclined to play. If you're the outdoors type, there are numerous hikes you can embark on not very far away. There's a private access to the beach. The water socks, kayaks, canoes, life jackets, are all within reach for you to use. Give it a chance, and you'll likely be planning your next trip here as soon as you arrive.
We came to relax, and that's what this place was perfect for. The attention to detail when it came to the amenities was outstanding right down to the small details.
The Tunawek hotel is a hidden gem with incomparable ocean views and activities at your fingertips. Donna and Adrian are lovely and super cool hosts, and the kayaking there is unbeatably beautiful! Highly recommend and we will definitely go again.
Very relaxing and serene property.
Amazing location. All the amenities I could ask for and more.
Everything was awesome.
The location and amenities were top notch. I can’t wait for my next trip there!
Beautiful retreat. Loved staying here after some heavy hiking days!
Quiet place. Waterfront with an excellent view. Perfect for relaxing, reading, writing, kayaking, paddle boarding and many more. 15 min from Sechelt downtown.
Loved everything about this place! Beautiful and quiet, it had everything I could have asked for as a solo traveler. I stayed in the Casablanca room. The bed was so comfortable! The clawfoot bathtub was such a treat, and the shower was lovely too. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought and effort into every part of this room. The little touches they provide like chocolates, bath salts, robes, water filters, etc. really make you feel pampered. The whole vibe is soothing. I spent a lot of time on the patio deck taking in the gorgeous view and just listening to the sounds of nature. I also spent time walking on the beach. It was exactly what I needed for a mental reset. I would love to come back and I hope to do so soon.
Stunning location and beautiful building. We loved the furnishings and spaciousness both of the room and the property
Amazing spot for couples. Three places to stay there. We had sunset room. Really nice room and you get use of the game room and media room. Hot tub is shared with other guests as well as the steam room but there would only ever be 6 people there at a time. So it’s a problem. The beach is amazing!!! Plus free use of kayaks and canoes. Water shoes life jackets provide too. There is an option to have breakfast made for you but besides that you would have to bbq n wood oven everything outside. Highly recommend to stay here as a couple.
An easy drive up the Inlet from Sechelt, hidden at the end of a country road and right on the beach we found this beautifully decorated Guest House. We visited in the Spring and had rather wet and gloomy weather, but our room was cozy and spacious and we could have enjoyed a wood burner situated in the corner of the room. The kitchen area was well supplied with a Keurig machine, microwave, electric kettle, sink and frig and a cupboard full of any dish you might need. The bed was super comfortable and there were beautifully upholstered armchairs for TV viewing. It would be even better in warmer weather as the outdoor balcony/verandah had a bar-type sitting area as well as a small table and chairs for morning coffee. The bathroom was immense … double sinks … clawfoot tub and huge shower stall, with fleecy bathrobes available. The grounds are neat and interesting with boardwalks leading to a covered gazebo, firepit area and hot tub. There are three uniquely themed guest suites, two of which are up an outdoor set of stairs and the third on ground level if mobility is an issue. The views West across the Sechelt Inlet are stunning … wonderful viewing for sunsets. Our host, Adrian, was most welcoming and accommodating and ready to share the history of the premises. Truly a peaceful, quiet place to unwind and enjoy water views and natural beauty.
It was my best friends birthday and we decided to do an over night here and then got massages in the morning. Property is quite and beautiful, private beach. Room was big with awesome shower and claw foot tub. The view from the deck was stunning. Hot tub and steam were awesome. Spa cabin on the property. They made us an amazing Dutch pancake filled with fruit. Small hideaway close to Sechelt. Was wonderful from start to finish.
Location, different style and family run. Adrian was a great host ! Super helpful.
Loved this place. Adrian was helpful. Allowed us to check in early. Views are great from room. Very quiet and comfortable stay.
The list goes on with all the great things at the Tuwanek Hotel. Its small and intimate with an outdoor sauna and hot tub. Several perfect outdoor lounge areas to relax and watch the sunset and sea life. Including a covered balcony with a bar in a perfect location to have your morning coffee in the fresh air while watching the sun rise. I cant imagine anyone finishing a trip here without wanting to immediately plan another stay.
Beautiful location and property. They have a lovely spa.
All
What a nice discovery the Tuwanek Hotel was for us as it was our first stay. The house is beautiful and nicely located in a quiet area with access to a private beach. Amenities are fantastic. We stayed in the huge and nicely appointed Sunset suite. Breakfast was copious and delicious. I definitely want to go back soon!
Location, had rooms side by side and made for a great stay with our friends. Rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. We received a nice welcome and then provided with privacy.
Na
I liked the peace and tranquility, the easy get-to beautiful walks and a really friendly and well equiped town, I liked Adrians splendid breakfasts, helpfulness and concern, I liked the hummmngbird, that came so close and the seals in the water, I liked rowing the cayak and the smell of nature. I warmly reccomend to try the massage and spa - it was excellent.
This place is absolutely amazing and super quiet. We chose the Casablanca room overlooking the water and saw seals and eagles during our stay. The use of the canoe was great and we really enjoyed the hot tub and steam room.
Amazing place in a beautiful location! Loved watching the resident seals in the bay, orcas, bald eagle, hummingbirds, etc. so tranquil and peaceful. The use of the games room was a bonus as well as the water activities available for use. We had everything we needed for a comfortable and peaceful stay.
Everything about the place, location and scenery was perfect! We really had a very good time.
Spectacular property; great rooms with terrific views. Absolute pleasure staying
We loved that we could go adventuring in the morning in the canoe, and relax in the afternoon in the hot tub.
Only a tiny kitchenette area but it was fine for breakfast and coffee in the morning
The space was lovely.
Huge room. Tons of amenities.
Love to stay, excellent experience
The attention to detail is outstanding, they really anticipate anything you might need and male you feel pampered and taken cared of. The property is in a beautiful spot and offer a variety of spots to enjoy the scenery or be active.
A charming and quiet spot in a beautiful setting. The room was spacious, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. Breakfast was delicious and served hot to our room. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, but gave us plenty of privacy. I would love to return in summer to better enjoy a sunset on the balcony, sitting in the garden, swimming at the beach, and paddling around the bay. Highly recommended if what you're looking for is comfort, quiet, privacy, and natural beauty.
An amazing place for a getaway. Location is serene and peaceful.
The Tuwanek Hotel was one those places that when you book it you pray that it’s going to reflect what you see in the photos and descriptions. The Hôtel more than exceeded those prayers! A comfortable, elegant spot beautifully nestled into a quiet small coastal community. Amazing views from our African Queen suite deck, enjoyed the ambiance of beautiful natural gardens and landscape as well as a cleanly maintained hot tub, cold plunge (on the rocks!) and sauna. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed with a GREAT shower and claw foot tub. Super comfy king bed, great linens and so much peace and quiet. Bonus was the delicious breakfast which we added as an option which was delivered each morning piping hot and fresh. We will be recommending Tuwanek to many friends for a great getaway option!
Wonderful from the moment we arrived to the time we left. Absolutely gorgeous hotel and surroundings. A lot of little extras (use of kayak and canoe, hot tub and steam) Wonderful tour upon arrival. Will be back!
An absolutely beautiful experience. So well thought out. We couldn't have wished or asked for anything, it was already there. Would highly recommend to anyone and would certainly return. Truly more than anyone could have asked for. Thank you.
This property exceeded our expectations and delivered in every way. The property is very private with sweeping ocean views of the sechelt inlet. The ‘African Queen’ room was spacious with all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed our breakfast and morning coffee out on the deck watching the seals play. We especially loved the use of kayaks on property to explore the area. We did a few hikes and loved the ‘hidden grove’ trails recommended by the owner, Donna. Donna and Adrian were the most gracious hosts. They made our stay so pleasant and even went out of their way to show us how to dig for clams. We will definitely be back to enjoy this special place in the near future. Many guests we met on property had been coming back for many years and we understand why. Thank-you for a fantastic getaway. Next time we will come for longer. Cindy & Marija
Very nice and clean, Beautiful beach Adrian is amazing Definitely will stay there again
We spent three very relaxing days in this property. The hotel has only three rooms and therefore is quiet. Direct beach access with all the equipment provided for a fun Canadian experience like kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, standup paddling etc. the host is welcoming, the rooms big with balcony. The bathroom is spacious with great shower and bathtub. The room has a coffee maker, fridge, cups, glasses, plates and silverware. We enjoyed this hotel a lot and can it highly recommend.
We absolutely love the place. It was so clean, spacious and the view from our balcony was incredible! Our B&B host Donna and Adrian were so nice ! They spent time to introduce us the town let us know some nice hiking trials and Adrian made delicious breakfast delivered to the room for us every morning! We were able to enjoy morning breakfast with a nice balcony view! The hotel has its own access to beach with free access to like kayak, SUP, Canoe with life jackets and lots things to do during the stay there . Highly recommend! Easy check in with passcode and easy check out as well!
Fantastic, peaceful spot right on the water!
beautiful historic-type home location on calm beach. host was so nice. the breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. it rained most of our stay but it didn’t matter as we still went hiking and then just relaxed on the sheltered patio.
location and people
An incredible property to stay. We absolutely enjoyed our two night stay here. The owners were great to deal with throughout our stay. We went out on the canoe and were able to see some beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this location if staying in or around Sechelt.
It’s a very nice place and the location is wonderful the owners are very hands on and willing to help Lots of water crafts to use in a sheltered area
Luxurious
All the amenities were great, loved the jacuzzi and kayaks. Fantastic location, very private, quiet. Adrian was very friendly and informative, we felt he genuinely wanted us to have a great visit.
Nothing, we wish we'd stayed longer.
Very comfortable, relaxing, zen. The bed was like a cloud. Amazing view from the room and a quiet tranquil location.
A little far from any restaurants/cafes. To go out for dinner need to drive 15 minutes out and it’s a dark windy road at night. Part of the experience is that it’s secluded so we get that. Breakfast was good but pretty pricey for what it was.
small thought out noteworthy touches through out the property and in the room itself,
The location is stunning, Adrian gave us a tour of the facilities on our arrival and was so friendly making us feel very welcome, we were really looking forward to staying here already but it exceeded our expectations and we just wish we had more time here.
This was a fantastic getaway with everything we could need. Our only regret is that we had to leave early and didn't explore as much as we wanted to. We will definitely be coming back!
amazing spot, we’ll set up and maintained
It is very eclectic - an old feeling but with modern touches. The view from the room was amazing and everything works great. Adrian was very nice and made us feel very welcome.
A retreat in every meaning. Beautifully located. We had the suite on the ground floor that has an additional room to it with everything you could want to spend your time (movie room, billard, boardgames, bar). Boats, snorkeling equipment, paddling boards all included.
There’s really nothing I can seriously think of.
Our host Adrian cooked up a very enjoyable breakfast ( extra cost but was really good ) served on our outside patio on a warm summer morning ! So nice ! The quiet surroundings were a welcome reprieve from our busy city life . Great view with a beach and nicely landscaped property with seating areas here and there to enjoy the view or just relax or read a book along with a barbecue area and a zen gazebo . Kayaking , canoeing and peddle boating with gear all included as well as an outside hot tub and steam cave . Also , spa facilities on site for a fee and near a park with walking trails . Very accommodating and thoughtful hosts ! Lighthouse Pub with a great patio and view of the inlet 10 minutes away as well as the town of Sechelt .
Breakfast was delicious. Location was central but private! Very well landscaped and tucked into the inlet.
Location was why we went, met all expectations
Peaceful location.
Had an amazing time, shower was amazing! View was beautiful, staff was friendly
This is such a fabulous hotel in a stunning location . We only met Adrian but he was a great host and couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable. We can thoroughly recommend the breakfasts , we had to take a pic of them each morning as they were a sight to behold and delicious too .
Nothing it’s perfect !
Excellent location! Right on the beach. The room was gorgeous. The patio amazing and the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. Adrian was welcoming and informative.
Wonderful stay. Lovely views and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the amenities. Highly recommend.
This was an incredible find! The hotel is absolutely fabulous. great location on the seaside and a beautiful setting. The amenities were beyond our wildest expectations and the the family running the place were superb! And to their credit, they handled the pandemic situation exceedingly well
The setting is very picturesque and the room was cozy and comfortable ... and the hostess and host were delightful and very accommodating.
Quiet well situated bed and breakfast. Well equipped with kayaks and canoes, hot tub and sauna. Beautiful room and full games room with microwave and feidge for self catering.
Donna and Adrian are fantastic hosts and the hotel itself is a must stay. They have thought of every little detail to make sure your stay is complete. The suite was fantastic and the amenities are also perfect. I would highly recommend booking this hotel.
This place is stunning. The owners go above a beyond to make sure you have everything you need. I wish I had more time to spend there.
Such a beautiful location and friendly owners. Loved watching the moon from the balcony of our suite and, of course the water activities and nearby hiking.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Tuwanak. Donna and Adrian were extremely hospitable. Breakfast and accommodation were 5 stars!!! No need to leave the property - many things to do at the resort.
The Tuwanek Hotel is a beautiful property that was an ideal relaxing weekend away for my wife and I. Our room was really nice and had great views. The place is kept impeccably and the owners were really friendly and helpful. There is lots of adventures to be had with all the water sports equipment supplied. I would recommend highly.
Perfect spot for a quiet, romantic New Year’s getaway. The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot, right on the beach. Our room (Sunset Beach Suite) was spotless and tastefully decorated. Donna and Adrian were superb hosts, tending to our every need and many questions, made dinner reservations for us, booked our massages, provided us with information on local walks, and cooked the most wonderful breakfasts. Due to the season we were not able to utilize many of the amenities (kayaks, paddle boards) offered, but thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, steam room and games room. We’ll be back!
What a pleasant surprise, when I booked the hotel had no idea it was more of a bed and breakfast. Donna was such an excellent host and made me feel at home. On one of the morning even pre-made me a care package of food that I could take with me since I had an early morning one day. Would stay there again! Looking forward to my next visit :)
From the first moment we stepped on to the property until we checked out after 2 fabulous nights, we wanted for nothing. Donna and Adrian have an exceptional property located directly on shallow water with amazing views. The rooms are well thought out and very comfortable. The games room on the lower level has a private movie room, games galore and tasty snacks included. The hot tub is conveniently located beside the sauna, which makes for a nice pit stop before heading back to the suite. Although there are no restaurants close by, there are a couple of great restaurants that deliver....I would highly recommend the Butter Chicken Pizza from Saffron and their desserts are worth the calories. The breakfast were hands down, two of the best we have ever had. Donna serves it in two courses on fine china, in the comfort of your room. There is even plug in parking for your EV! We will definitely return.
Our room was spotless, the bed was amazing.
Wonderful place, the owners make you feel like you are staying with good friends. Beautiful
Beautiful people, beautiful location, beautiful place. Don't hesitate to book a suite or a cottage and spend as much time as you can in the little piece of heaven.
This is a excellent cottage close to beach, every family members from adult and kids enjoy it every much. We will definitely come back.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful area
Tuwanek Hotel is a beautiful spot for a getaway. The rooms are beautifully appointed, clean, and spacious. Our hosts Chris and Krista were super helpful and ensured our every need was met. Although the hotel was fully booked, we had complete privacy and were able to enjoy the hot tub, steam room, the BBQ, the movie room, and best of all our own private patio.
Tuwanek Hotel is a truly amazing place with incredible views over the sea, luxurious rooms with absolutely everything you may need during your stay, wonderful hospitality and a very tasty homemade breakfast (we had to ask the owners for a secret recipe!). I enjoyed every minute of our stay, would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and hope to come back to this little piece of heaven!
Although this was listed as a hotel, we rented Timberloft Cottage which was a detached house some way from the main hotel. It was simply a house rental as no meals or maid service were provided. The house was listed as two bedrooms but the second bedroom (which we had to pay extra to use) was just a divided portion of the living room - so occupants could hear everything from the living room. Also there was too much light in the bedroom as there were no curtains for the windows in the roof or for the the light coming from the living room. The living room was nice as was the hot tub outside. There was a large garden and plenty of parking space.
