Location was stunning, amazing views
Communal areas of the lodge needed some maintenance and improvements. Room was very comfortable but would benefit from new towels and bed linen.
Remote, at the end of a dead end road, right in the waterfront.
Nothing really
The location and the view were second to none.
The plumbing.
The view was spectacular, the bed comfortable & the bathroom large with a soaker tub.
The deck was in need of repair it had large holes & spongy areas, felt very unsafe. The place looks a bit tired, needs some TLC.
Private floating dock. Great view of the Sechelt inlet.
We stayed at Tranquility Bay Waterfront Inn for our anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Nigel is an incredibly warm and welcoming host who truly goes the extra mile to make your stay special. As a thoughtful surprise, he left us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a kind and memorable gesture. This place is truly a piece of paradise. The ocean views are absolutely breathtaking, and relaxing in the hot tub while overlooking the water was an unforgettable experience. We also loved having access to the waterfront deck, as well as the complimentary kayaks and paddle boards, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Everything about the property is peaceful, well cared for, and designed for a relaxing escape. If you’re looking for a stunning waterfront retreat with outstanding hospitality, I can’t recommend Tranquility Bay Waterfront Inn highly enough. Thank you, Nigel, for making our anniversary so special—we’ll definitely be back!
Can’t find anything bad about it.
Nigel (owner) was great and very friendly. Location with waterfront private dock and amenities.
The extremely uncomfortable bed which was way to soft and worn.
Large Space pool table hot tub since weather was a bit cold .
I personally think outside grounds need some love and money put into keeping it up to date new umbrellas furniture/patio sets pressure washed painted or stained . Gravel weeded and blower used. Glass railings washed .
Nigel, the host, was amazing. Was always there when you needed him and answered within minutes. If you didn't need him, you barely noticed him. The view was incredible, it was so serene and relaxing, the name definitely suits it. We watched the seals swimming and the humming birds feeding right from the hot tub. The rooms were fantastic, everything you need. Even in the winter, the weather was great and the sun was brightly shining. Lots of privacy available, even if someone was in the other suite, the 4-5 tiers on the deck ensure you can find privacy
The only thing we were not a fan of was how soft the beds were. They are very soft and cozy, so for most it would be great, but if you like firm beds, then you may get a sore back, the good news is the hot tub is only steps away.
Great position with lovely views overlooking the water. The apartment itself was clean & comfortable & well - equipped.
A general feeling that the outside areas are not being cleaned and maintained properly. Apartment decking wood is beginning to rot, a lot of tree debris and leaves need to be cleared / swept up .
Amazing location on the ocean. Very comfortable bed.
Grounds are a little tired
Room was spacious with small eating/sitting area, large bathroom with soaking tub and a nice separate shower. The hot tub was a nice touch w robes, towels and slippers provided. Room included Keurig coffee maker w plenty of coffee pods, microwave and mini fridge . Best of all was the free use of water craft on the dock including single and double kayaks, paddle boards and included PFDs/ paddles- beautiful place to paddle from at any time of day or night including bioluminescence paddles at night within meters of the dock. Swimming was pleasant from the dock and it is also a great place to enjoy sunsets and stargazing as the location is far enough away from most of the lights of Sechelt.
The landscape around the property was a bit messy and needed some attention. The location was a good 15+ minute drive outside of town and so grocery and restaurant runs were necessary.( This could be also an advantage for the reasons noted above)
No nearby facilities. Had to drive 10-kn to nearest restaurant or grocery. Path to room was overgrown. Property was not convenient for our interests in sightseeing. Recommend staying in one of the suncoast cities.
This was our second stay at Tranquility Bay Inn, as always the location is beautiful, quite and unique. The host Nigel is amazing and we cant wait to come back again next year. We absolutely love our favorite 'home away from home"
The oceanfront was spectacular, so many neat creatures to see and the most incredible views. Great weather, very quiet setting to enjoy peace and the Sunshine Coast area was great for exploring. There is a nice public beach 2 min walk away. We really enjoyed the soaker tub, and sitting on the under deck patio and sipping coffee.
The property is spectacular but needs some TLC and tidying up. There were cobwebs everywhere and the very pretty gardens were wild and overgrown into the paths. The various seating areas overlooking the water were dirty and unkempt so we didn't use. The dock squeaks loudly, and no shade or umbrella made it very uncomfortable in the sun. Stair handrails, tables and dock chairs need repairs. The suite itself could use a deep detailed cleaning (dirty door glass and dusty fans, soiled carpet, washroom) First impressions mean a lot and I was disappointed-however, this place has a ton of potential and the host was very friendly.
Schitterend uitzicht vanaf onze kamer.
Great property
Access to the dock, the beautiful scenery, the sound on the rain on the roof, well-equipped, comfortable bed, awesome hot-tub.
Being super picky here, but maybe just a little vacuuming under the bed. Otherwise, everything was very clean.
Perfect quiet getaway in a beautiful setting.
Local was awesome
I would like to have a coffee maker to make my own ground coffee.
The view but nothing else
The room was unclean , towels and linens were not clean , old worn out , stained towels , used soap , water bottle was tap water in in a glass jar , spiders , stained carpet and drapes , smelled old dirty and musty , cobwebs inside and out . We booked two nights only stayed one and left
Extremely peaceful and beautiful location. Room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Great amenities like the hot tub, gas grill and water sports equipment available. Had an amazing time kayaking on the lake and watching the sunset from the pontoon decking after.
Landscaping and new decking would be beneficial.
wonderful place , clean , quaint exactly what we were looking for! The host Nigel was very accommodating!
Don't have a bad thing to say!
excellent stay at a beautiful waterfront house. loved the sunset sweet.
it was hard to see what we were booking on the website but we had a perfect suite. loved our stay.
What a beautiful little slice of Paradise. The views are stunning. Nigel is an amazing host. We can not wait to come back. Loved getting to have use of the canoes and kayaks! Hot tub is a huge bonus!
There is a bbq and a pizza oven but the fridge in the suite is very small.
The location is amazing for lazy days out of the water, exploring the bay on the variety of water equipment. The sunset suite was large, clean and well equipped. Lots of outdoor seating areas to take in the view.
The outside spaces were neglected with overgrown gardens and grass, tired and dirty furniture, broken railings and peeling paint. Such a shame, as it lost the luxury feel of the place.
Tranquil
Cramped bed.
The location and view were incredible. Lots of outdoor seating areas to soak up the views. Hot tub was great too
The room was missing a fridge, only a cooler was provided and was warm by the next day.
The view The quiet The fresh air
Going home
Peaceful location and ground floor suite is very spacious.
Furnishings were older than expected and cleanliness should be improved.
Beautiful place
Location is very good
The garden and seating areas are tired and need some attention, shame because the views are stunning but dirty glass panels and peeling paint on the handrails and dead plants and overgrown areas take the edge off …a real shame
Nigel the on site manager was great and full of recommendations and quick to help whenever necessary
the dock was awesome, the kayaks and canoe was great to use on the inlet .
so on the web site the bedroom looks very luxurious, but when you get there it is very run down. Beige carpet is old , and needs painting.Furniture is old too. althought the bed was very comfortable, but the bedding on the bed was not like it looked on the website. wrinkly and tired bedding. So we have mixed feelings about being there. The manager was very helpful, but then he was also hanging on the dock too and you could hear him next door coughing and we smelled when he was smoking. this place really needs an overhaul. Especially the decks and railings .
Peaceful and amazing area to get recharged.
Tranquility Bay used to be a showplace. It has the prettiest view imaginable but suffers from a lack of TLC. Weeds now overgrow the garden. Bushes have dead branches hanging off. The sitting areas are covered in debris from the trees and haven’t been cleaned to be ready for guests. The bathtub had hair in it, shower exterior appeared to be damaged or moldy, and shampoo dispenser has such old shampoo the ingredients are starting to separate. I came here 20 years ago with my parents and sister and returned with my husband and children, after sharing my memories of it. It’s no longer a B and B and more’s the pity as there is no nearby food option or kitchen in the room (though the owner has been kind to supply a couple of bowls, plates, glasses, and cutlery and you have a small fridge and microwave in the downstairs suite). Though my husband called in advance of our booking to ensure kids were okay on property, the owner seemed surprised about it when we arrived. That was uncomfortable. And there’s only a very small, hard futon for kids to use. (Ouch!) There are also no double kayaks, which had been a huge draw in going there as the water is incredible (giant starfish, seals, and sea cucumbers!) So you have to go down the road and rent them at an added cost. If you’re downstairs, the main issue is that it’s very hard to sleep as you hear everything happening upstairs. No question- it was once a jewel and could be again, but needs some attention to nearly every aspect.
We stayed in the luxury suite which was basically a basement suite in a large house with a wet bar. Beautiful location, amazing view. Can walk right down to the dock which was perfect. And lots of water sport equipment available although it was too cold for us to use it.
Would have loved a bit of coffee creamer. There was coffee and tea, but no cream. The bed itself was nice and big but was very worn out. There were major indents in it. For the price, I would expect a better quality, comfortable bed.
Happy stay everything was good
This is our family's third visit to this place. We really like it here; the scenery is beautiful, and the ground floor rooms have a fireplace and a pool table. This time, we invited a friend's family to come together, but there were two points that disappointed us. The friends' couple stayed upstairs and mentioned that the bed and mattress were very worn out, causing them to wake up with a sore back. Additionally, the upstairs and downstairs prices are similar, but the upstairs area is only about 37 square meters, while the downstairs is over 80 square meters. We remember that when we placed the order, it stated that the two suites were similar in size. However, upon reviewing the order, it seems different from our memory. We don't know what happened, but we can only say that next time we need to take screenshots as evidence. We hope the host can replace the bed and mattress upstairs because sleep is crucial. Furthermore, the price for the upstairs accommodation should be lower than that of the downstairs.
The only issue was the weather related power outage which did not really allow us to use any of amenities. I am confident it would've been much more fun if we had electricity given the set up/provided amenities. I am not sure if a back up generator is standard/required or not but that was the only issue.
The location. Stayed in the cabin. It was lovely, clean with all the necessary amenities. Nigel made us feel very welcome
Fantastic location. The use of the canoe was a highlight for us. Epic views and very quiet. Will book again here for sure!
The view and surrounding area of the property was amazing. Nigel was very informative and welcoming during the course of our stay! We stayed in the sunset suite where we had our own pool table, BBQ and access to a hot tub and kayaks - which was great!
Nothing that I can think of.
Beautiful property by the water. We had our own little private cabin, hot tub was great and had so much fun using the standup paddle boards available.
Real paradise, beautiful as you see in pictures. Friendly staff and comfortable and cozy place
Great views, lots of seating areas and water sports. Quiet and peaceful
Nigel greeted us, and he is great. The property was gorgeous. The room was huge. The couch and bed were so comfortable. We can't wait to go back.
Location, spacious accommodation and very peaceful.
It felt like an amazing nature retreat, surrounded by water, mountains, lush trees, & wildlife.
An amazing property to come to and relax. Very tranquil just as the name suggest. Lovely BBQ facility if you choose to make your own dinner.
this is a little retreat. a truly hidden gem.
Tranquility Bay is an adequate name for this place. With stunning views and the sound of a waterfall always present. The place has the best facilities available and it feels like you have the place to yourself. An amazing couples retreat
Nothing. Free fire wood. Kayaks at your disposal. Also fishing rods. What's not to like
Spacious and comfortable, quiet, beautiful views.
The location is superb, and the caretaker Nigel is wonderful! We loved our stay.
We stayed in the king suite, and there was a loud buzzing sound that made the walls rattle on and off all night.
The yard is wonderful. The dock area, all the different waterfront seating areas, the pool table! We had a very relaxing weekend. Exactly what we were looking for.
Excellent and beautiful location.
Nice place to stay. All as described.
Price could have been a bot lower.
Beautiful views of the ocean. Super private location. Nigel was a great host. Definitely recommend this place for a romantic getaway
Loved the location, free sup boards and kayaks for use, so close to the water and friendly staff.
Beautiful, quiet location, with an amazing view. Room was lovely, with very comfortable bed. We enjoyed breakfast on our little balcony, watching the hummingbirds.
Some of the outdoor furniture was a bit tired and outdoor seating areas could have done with a tidy up. Some washing up liquid would have been appreciated!
View was great
No breakfast included Outdoor deck, patos and furniture needed cleaning and maintanance.
A place for relaxation. I wished I had a week off to stay longer. It is like being in a semi private resort. In addition there were water sports equipments (Kayaks etc) for customers's use for free. We definitely enjoyed that also. I would definitely not consider other places to stay if I decided to visit the island again. Just make sure you arrange your food and drinks before going there. No restaurants or Cafe's close by, Hardly any would deliver, and there is no working kitchen.
This property is in an amazing spot. Excellent access to provided paddleboards, kayaks and canoes. View was stunning and bay was calm for watersports. Plentiful patios to enjoy the view although you have to watch for the falling sap from the trees. Patio furniture could use a dust-off and some cushions were coming apart. Suite was well stocked but could use some maintenance (damaged pool cues, sagging furniture, too soft bed, poor quality hand soap) and no air conditioning, although our suite was in the basement so wasn't too bad. Can't beat the location though!
Tranquility lodge is lovely and quiet. The suite was exactly as advertised and very comfortable and the use of paddle boards etc a bonus. The location itself is very remote (we came by floatplane from vancouver), so getting there without transport requires a taxi (~$35 each way) and come prepared to self cater for the trip as there is nothing within walk distance. A few restaurants do deliver to the property which was a bonus. Amazing location if you want to fully disconnect and relax. Would recommend
Quiet, lovely place. Nigel is friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely return again.
We enjoyed our stay
Beautiful setting right on the water, different areas on the property to sit and admire the view. Water equipment provided ex paddle boards , kayaks, life vests etc to use if wanted. Was lovely spot.
