Mahona Boutique Hotel

We had a wonderful time staying at Mahona Boutique Hotel. The property was very quaint and we loved the lush landscaping and pool. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location was also great and easy to walk to many good restaurants. We definitely recommend this stay!!

The property was beautiful..in a great location..Breakfast was yummy. Staff very nice but mainly speaks French. Overall great place and would return again

We REALLY felt relaxed here, and I think part of that was that there wasn't a tv in the room (which at first we were disappointed with!) Rooms were lovely and decorated with many natural materials. Bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was fantastic and even accommodated my dietary restrictions, by willingly using my own gluten-free bread that we had brought, to make me the most delicious French toast I've eaten in my lifetime! Staff were friendly (be aware though, you'll need Google translate if you don't have any Spanish or French language skills). The pool is very small, as is the area around it, so there were times we chose not to use it because there were simply too many folks there, and no loungers available (there's only 4) BUT it's a very short walk to the ocean, a very short drive to other beautiful beaches, and an incredibly short walk to a ton of restaurants and shops. The surrounding gardens are stunning!

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience I had during my recent stay at Mahona Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made our visit truly memorable. That said, I’d like to share a concern that I’ve taken time to thoughtfully reflect on before writing a review My daughter and I were away for the day on an excursion. That morning during breakfast, I was asked if we would like room service, and I agreed. I had been storing my cash in a pocket of my backpack, as I was unable to figure out how to use the black lockbox provided in the closet. Because of this, I had been diligently keeping track of my funds each day. Since the excursion was prepaid and mostly spent at the beach, I didn’t take any cash with me. However, upon returning that evening and going to retrieve money to tip our driver, I noticed that $40 USD and a 2,000 peso bill were missing. I immediately turned the backpack inside out and thoroughly searched all possible locations, but the money was nowhere to be found. This unfortunate incident affected my travel budget, as I had allocated a specific amount of cash for each day. Out of caution, I declined room service for the rest of the trip, which did impact the comfort of our stay—especially after multiple beach days that naturally left sand behind in the room. Despite this issue, I want to emphasize that everything else about our experience at M

Excelente todo

Great place to stay. Wonderful rooms and staff. Breakfast is excellent!! Very quiet too if you want to get a good night's rest. Definitely recommend this place!

Very pretty rooms, ground and small pool. Lovely kitchen and cleaning staff who served a breakfast with a welcoming smile. Gardens were beautiful. Good, walkable location. Quiet and comfortable.

It a amazing place to stay services is beyond of wonderful

Beautiful place! Amazing & delicious breakfast experience included. Nice and quiet oasis, perfect pool to cool off in. It didn’t seem like everyone there liked kids tho. Then some other families showed up so made us feel better!

A haven of peace and tranquillity with excellent breakfast

The hotel was nice but it wasn’t worth 5 star review. The breakfast was amazing. The room was nice enough but they only had a sheet on the bed. There was a blanket in the closet but it smelled like someone else’s sweat so we couldn’t use it. The windows don’t all close and the road next to the hotel is extremely loud with the motorbikes, so that was pretty annoying. Also, the hosts speak zero English and only French and Spanish, so it was a bit difficult to get help. The hotel was supposed to be adult only, but there were some children there. That said, it was nice enough and the breakfast was stellar.

The hotel was just lovely very quiet and relaxing. The rooms were very clean. The property was amazing please beware this is a bed and breakfast , the breakfast was delicious and the service as well. This is a very tranquil place surrounded by greenery everywhere.. The pool was very relaxing Perfect after spending the day at the beach and coming back to a relaxing environment. There are many beaches nearby, many places to eat. Magaly was very attentive and was there to answer any questions. Aris was also very attentive and was eager to please never said no !! She was part of the staff among the other 2 ladies very lovely. Jose was also pleasant to see. Overall I had a great time I rented the villa was perfect for 4 ppl.

Amazing, perfect for a couple.

So nice

PASCAL one of the owner or staff member was very unprofessional. I needed to go outside were the car was park so I can pay some money for some drink and he grab my wife is luggage in a really bad way! All I want it was to go to the car and grab cash to pay because they do not accept credit or debit card! The place was nice and clean magalis was nice but Pascal very bad person!

Lovely family boutique hotel. The rooms are very nice, the breakfast is amazing, the area is safe. 5 min walking to the beach and all restaurants/ bars. Highly recommend the property.

We would stay here again, very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast

Staff was really nice, the property quiet and the breakfast delicious!

Close to beautiful beach, Nice French hotel with great breakfast

This is a BEAUTIFUL play to stay. It’s so much more beautiful than the pictures show. Relax, peaceful… the breakfast is perfection! The staff, Kirsy y Nicauri we’re so friendly, welcoming, accommodating and helpful. I would love to come back here and stay longer.

Our stay at Mahona BnB exceeded our expectations! Lush grounds, soft lit pool and sitting area day or night, tranquil and exceptionally clean and thoughtfully decorated and designed rooms and superb staff always with welcoming smiles! A breakfast that included cafe, crepes, fruit, jam and croissants was a memorable way to start our day. This boutique hotel is well located with a short, well lit paved walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping. No need to drive anywhere in town. We highly recommend the his and her massages to relax and rejuvenate! We can not say enough great things about our new favorite BnB in Las Terrance. Muchas Gracias!

Great place, excellent staff and delicious breakfast

Hidden paradise in Las Terrenas. Close to best beaches in Dom Rep. Perfectly hosted by French owner and team. Please keep it as it is 🙏

A gem. Breakfast is amazing.

Very friendly staffing, great continental breakfast, everything is closed by lots of great restaurants.

Had a wonderful stay, very nice hotel. There was a power outage that last about 3-4 hours overnight and the energy backup plant didn't kick in. Besides that, everything was great.

We loved our room, beautiful. Staff is lovely. Pool and grounds are so pretty and peaceful. Breakfast and coffee very delicious and convenient.

Great place with outstanding staff. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Mohana Bed and Breakfast in Las Terrenas is a beautiful place to stay! Las Terrenas is a popular tourist destination in the Dominican Republic known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and natural beauty. Its located in such a picturesque location, offer a wonderful experience.

Everything was Great!!!! 5 star!!!

Awesome location

Wonderful small boutique hotel close to the ocean. The breakfast here are simply fabulous. The pool is small but great for cooling off. Walk to many restaurants in a few minutes.

VERY LOVELY PLACE, GREAT STAFF, MINUTES FROM THE BEACH AND CENTER.

No words can describe this magical gem in the centre of Las Terrenas. Everything about Mahon B&B is perfect! Amazing bungalows, delicious breakfast and the garden! If you’re looking for piece and quiet in ever busy Las Terrenas look no further.

A little jewel inside a tropical garden just a few minutes walking from the beach. The attention to details was excellent: new, clean and with fine furniture. Worth mentioning the delicious breakfast with croissants, fresh fruits, bread, eggs and more. They were very kind to provide early breakfast to allow us to be on time for our excursions! Quite and peaceful place, simply perfect!

I cannot more highly recommend this b&b. It is even better than the pictures depict. Full of precious details and immaculate taste. It is a hidden oasis, yet centrally located. All of the staff are super kind and helpful. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back!

Great location. Room and bathroom were pretty nice but not clean at all. The pillows smelled like sweat. Getting a shower was a bad experience, the floor was very slippery with previous soap or conditioner, and it flooded within seconds from opening the water. Breakfast was included and they served us fruits, bread, coffee and juice, we had to ask for the eggs and only then they offered it to the other guests. I’m not booking this property again.

Beautiful place, especially at night. Friendly and helpful staff.

Amazing, quiet place, super friendly staff, close to the beach, great breakfast.

Super clean, great location and very peaceful.

Great breakfast, nice people Very clean, pretty garden and pool All positive, nothing negative

The property is really nice, small and quiet, perfect getaway for couples. Its location is perfect, on walking distance from the beach, center and restaurants. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Fresh croissants, coffee, juice, homemade marmalade, eggs and their amazing french toast. We couldn’t ask for more...

Beautiful rooms scattered among a spectacular garden inside a secure compound. Close to many beaches and restaurants. Lovely hosts and staff!

very peaceful. - oasis in centre of the town. Perfect for couples. close to beach and restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay

Hello, Very friendly treatment of the owners, a very personalized and concerned about the details it offers.

Super nice bungalows, very nice garden, everything is absolutely recommendable super helpful and friendly staff and hosts. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay a lot.

It’s amazing, excellent place, cute, clean, delicately designed to makes you feel confortable. Is a boutique hotel !!! Very nice!!! Especially for couples, is not a children’s place.

This boutique Hotel is by far, the best I have ever been in Las Terrenas. The rooms were sparkling clean, the staff is the best (most importantly the owners). The breakfast is delicious! And the amenities exceed expectations. I would definitely be coming back, and 100% recommend. (2 people in deluxe room with AC).

This was a perfect oasis Felt more like a high end spa amazing attention to detail to make it unique and special Lots of effort from the owner to the entire staff who genuinely care and enjoy their roles and treat the place and people like it is their own. Amazing breakfast loved the fresh juice fruit bowl and amazing jam. The rooms are like little spa cabins just as beautiful of not more beautiful then the pictures - each one unique and special Location is perfect - quiet secluded yet right around the corner from the main beach restaurants and shops I gem of a find so glad we stayed there - looking forward to coming back

Whether was amazing. Service was amazing. Friendly and attentive staff.

The property was so beautiful! The breakfast was delicious and filling.

I must say this hotel is amazing, it deserves 5 starts, its small, cute, clean, peaceful. All amenities are great. Employees are real kindness and respect. 100% recommended!!!!

The hotel itself was amazing! Love the service and the friendly, peaceful environment. The construction surround the outside of the hotel makes it difficult to move around.

Beautiful property and amazing breakfast. Staff was super friendly. Close to town

We were pleasantly pleased at how aesthetically pleasing this last minute book was. The sense of seclusion we had was calming.Breakfastwas fresh, and delicious. The price was fair and it was very comfortable, we throughly enjoyed our short stay. They could a bit better with checkin and the organization of guest documents but we've already recommended the place to others and will likely return.

The place is well designed and you can see that every little detail is being noticed. The rooms are beautiful, the location is great and the breakfast is good. The only cons are the mosquitoes that you can’t run from and the wifi that did’nt work well, other than that - it was great.

Great atmosphere, amazing breakfast, nice and friendly staff. Good location.

It was a pleasure staying at Mahona! great location, great staff, wonderful breakfast. I would recommend to place inside the room something to keep the mosquitos away, maybe some citronelle candle, cuz they manage to get inside and can be quite annoying. The Terrenas town is a charming place to stay with pleasant beaches and fine dining. would definitely come back!

The tropical atmosphere, and wide variety of flowering plants was nice. The individual bungalows provided quite a bit of privacy. The breakfast was delicious and very filling.

CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD PAYMENT IS NOT AVAILABLE ON RECEPTION , ALL OTHERS THINGS ARE PERFECT

Hidden gem, garden of eden! Very tranquil, beautiful gardens and chalets.Wonderful attention to detail. Breakfast delicious, very European feel. Owners very kind and friendly. Area safe and quiet, yet 5 minutes walk to beach and nightlife and the town.

The best Beatrice and Daniel are the perfect hosts We will be back !!!!

We came to the Mahona B&B in April for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! Mahona is in a great location, close to everything, but out of the way of heavy foot traffic and noise. It is maybe a 5 minute walk to the main restaurant and shopping areas, as well as some great beaches. My husband and I spent a lot of time just relaxing at the hotel. It is quiet, cozy and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and attentive and owners, Daniel and Beatrice were warm and welcoming. They have done a great job creating a comfortable and home-like atmosphere. We stayed for a week and still weren't ready to leave. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

About a long block off the beach and from the center of the action in Las Terrenas, Mahona is a quiet get away, but a perfect place to enjoy all of Las Terrenas from! The rooms are cosy, the WiFi works perfectly, the breakfast is filling and the hosts are great! I highly recommend this as a spot if you are going to this area.

What can I say about this lovely place, Its a beautiful place in an amazing location. From the staff to the beautiful rooms and atmosphere. Nice and quiet!! I would recommend this place to everyone!! Everyone was just wonderful!! Walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and beach. I give Mohana B & B a 5 Star rating!

Quaint B&B tucked away from all the noise! Arrived but the lady working didn’t know English, muddled our way through. Left to go for a walk, Beach is close and we enjoyed walking the following morning for over an hour. No tv in rooms which we were fine with, wifi was spotty and most times had to walk out onto veranda to get a better signal. Shower is either blasting extremely hot water and then freezing cold water, warm was very sporadic! Breakfast was truly the best, ladies working breakfast were lovely and service impeccable! Daniel spoke very little English so we found it tough to have any conversation, we basically were on our own to tour around. Would have been nice to get some feedback on what to do, where to eat, etc....

Nice place, very relaxed atmosphere, great breakfast, everything oke!

We loved staying at Mahona. It is a little oasis in the middle of the beach front hotel area in Las Terrenas. The husband wife team that own and run the B&B were so lovely and there to help whenever we needed. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the common pool area is so relaxing and quiet. Breakfast every morning was delicious, and the hotel only a small walk to the beach. It was a little sanctuary to head back to at the end of every day. Highly recommend for someone who is looking for a quiet, relaxing get away.

We spent a great time at Mahona Bed & Breakfast during our vacation at Las Terrenas. We decided to go to Las Terrenas after a recommendation from a friend that lives in the Dominican Republic. We were looking for something different to more popular destinations like Punta Cana or La Romana. We stayed there between January 10 and January 15th, 2017. Unfortunately, the weather those days was terrible (A storm was close to the island) but that didn't impede we relax at the hotel, use the pool, and eat the wonderful breakfast is prepared there by Jacques and staff everyday!. If you like French Toast, you have to order it everyday :).... Ask to Jackes to put on top local chocolate zest... Rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, the bed is king size, water pressure in the shower is very good, the internet works well and you are just a few steps from the pool and the "Bohio". We felt very comfortable and like at our own home. Thanks a lot to Jacques, Veronique and staff.

Jack & Veroniqué are excellent hosts and delightful people. We felt like family during our stay. They helped us with renting a 4-wheeler, and gave us information on other activities. Mahona is a few steps from the beach, the best Las Terrenas restaurants, and places to dance. It's clean and peaceful, and well maintained. The breakfast was always delicious, and Jack cooked and served it with a big smile. A gem in the Caribbean.

Mahona B&B is even better than the pictures; it's a real-life paradise. Mahona is a 2-minute walk from the beach and restaurants/bars, but far enough from the main street that loud noises are not prevalent - perfect for anyone looking for a bit of seclusion. Veronique & Jack were amazing hosts; they live on-site, so they are always available if you need anything. Be prepared for a breakfast spread of fresh fruit, fresh-squeezed juice, coffee, toast with homemade jams, eggs and/or french toast - all superb! Jack will also prepare delicious cocktails upon request (at a cost that's equivalent to, if not cheaper than, the local bars). The bar area also has a fridge with items that you can purchase (water, wine, beer, potato chips) - they start a tab for you behind the counter and you simply write down whatever you take, it's added to your bill at the end of your stay. Extremely convenient! In the room there's a mini-fridge stocked with water bottles, an in-room safe, lots of lights, a luggage stool, and a small desk. The windows are screened (there are no panes of glass, they are open to the outside) and there is no real A/C but there is a very effective ceiling fan right over the bed. It was generally pleasant, even on the hottest days I was there (88*C+). Both bath towels and beach towels (for the pool) are provided. NOTE: They do not accept credit cards on-site, so if you choose the 'pay later' option on Hotels.com, be prepared to pay your bill in cash!
