The Ballinluig Inn

From the outside, the pub doesn't amazing, justs off the dual carriageway and next to a petrol station. But inside they have done an excellant job. It's clean and comfortable, well decorated and good value for money. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and it's a great place to explore the local area.

It wouldn't be the most relaxing place to sit outside having a drink in the summer, but a great place tpo explore the local area.

Fijne ontvangst. We waren met 2 stellen. Makkelijk parkeren.. Heerlijk ontbijt en prima diner savonds..ligt mooi op de route naar de Highlands.

Spacious room, parking in front of the room. Excellent breakfasts & evening meals. Wonderful staff. The restaurant was not open on Monday & Tuesday evening but as residents, we were offered the option to choose from a couple of menu items in advance and were very happy with the roast lamb on Monday and Steak Lies on Tuesday. The breakfast room is spacious, the dining area has small booths and the bar is cosy. An excellent choice for walkers and dog owners.

Grote van de slaapkamer. Het was netjes. Ook was er een naar met restaurant aanwezig. Die helaas dicht is op maandag. Maar we kregen wel een aanbieding om alsnog een diner te bestellen. Ontbijt was super. Je kon uit verschillende menu kiezen wat dan vers werd gemaakt. Top!

Grote van het bed. Maar dat is mijn mening. Mocht wel wat groter zijn. En de badkamer. Deze was best wel smal. Was een beetje bagger met jezelf afdrogen. En de deur moest dicht blijven tijdens en na het douchen ivm het alarm. Die was blijkbaar erg gevoelig.

Goeie ligging, kamer was prima. Maar de rest was oud en versleten. Het eten was overigens erg goed, alleen waar wij moesten plaatsnemen was verschrikkelijk.

Oud en slecht onderhouden.

Ideální poloha, pokoj příjemný, skvělá snídaně, opravdu nadstandardní a nic nám nechybělo, udělali pro nás i večeři, i když bylo pozdě dle přání. Opravdu skvělé.

Habitación amplia y limpia con todo lo necesario. Cama muy cómoda. El personal super amable y atentos. El chef del restaurante de 10. Comida de altísima calidad, muy bien elaborada y con precios geniales. Si venís a dormir tenéis que cenar aquí. El desayuno sencillo pero más que suficiente.

I stayed previously at £75 per room and expected a huge difference with a £175 room 2 years later but it wasn’t any better. Rooms need a lot of investment. Putting up the wood panelling is good but rooms need to be sanded and decorated. Terrible smell in the room on arrival. Check in should be 3pm rather than 4pm. If the rooms are ready at 3:45pm when 6 guests arrive then don’t give the guests into trouble for arriving early. Welcome was terrible and customer service was missing.

The chef, owner and wearer of many hats. The dinner was fantastic!

Appena entrati neanche il tempo di appoggiare le valigie che un tale presente ci ha chiesto l'ora della colazione la mattina dopo. Stanza piccola pavimento scricchiolante, vetro sporco davanti al quale fuori c'era il camino della caldaia rumorosissimo che partiva quando si apriva acqua calda nell'albergo con susseguente puzza di gasolio. Letto piccolo, bagno decente, bella la doccia. ma il peggio è stato alla mattina con una colazione indegna con 4 robe confezionate ed un caffè pessimo, per non parlare dei piatti scottisch che uscivano dalla cucina colanti unto e formaggio fuso che ci siamo ben guardati dal prendere, mentre degli spagnoli a fianco nostro li hanno lasciati interamente sul piatto

Room looked absolutely nothing like the pictures, was very outdated and run down. Communal hallways smelt musty. Plumbing incredibly loud, every time someone in the building flushed or put a tap on the room groaned. Walls were also paper thin, could hear everything. Room was roasting hot (despite weather being mild outside), kept away by barking dog outside because we needed the window open.

Tutto! È stato davvero tutto perfetto la camera era davvero bella e pulita la signora che ci ha accolto è stata davvero gentile e disponibile abbiamo cenato lì ed era tutto davvero ottimo!

La struttura fuori sembra datata ma dentro è moderna, ristrutturata e ha tutti i confort! La stanza era abbastanza grande, pulita e accogliente. Lo staff è stato molto gentile e la colazione era ottima, si poteva scegliere se l’english breakfast oppure la continentale!

Il bagno della stanza è un po’ piccolino ma pulito e ordinato! Null’altro da dire.

Etwas abgewohnt, kleines Zimmer und kleines Bad. Frühstück mittelmäßig.

Bei der Ankunft dachen wir als erstes einmal , ups unweit der Autostrasse gelegen. Aber der erste Eindruck täuchte. Wir hatte ein sehr geräumiges modern eingerichtetes Zimmer mit dreifach Verglasung zus Autostrassen seite. Sprich schlafen ohne Probleme möglich. Nach der inneren Seite zum Land hin, konnte man ohne weiteres das Fenster über Nacht offen lassen. Kein lärm :-) Frühstuck konnte man per Karte wählen plus interkontinental vom Buffet nehmen. Alles bestens TOP ! Wir fühlten uns von A-Z gut aufgehoben.

Wir können nichts dazu aufzählen. Alles war gut ! Weiter so !

If you are looking for a strategic, hassle-free location to explore the region, this is an excellent choice. The inn is situated right by the main road, which is a massive logistical advantage—it allows for quick departures in the morning and ensures a safe, straightforward arrival if you are returning late in the dark, entirely avoiding the need to navigate narrow, unlit mountain roads. It is perfectly positioned right between Cairngorms National Park, Aberfeldy, and Pitlochry. As a 2-meter-tall traveler, finding proper ergonomics is often a challenge, but this room delivered. The bed lacked a footboard (an absolute necessity for my height) and the mattress dimensions were generous. The linens and pillows were impeccably clean, resulting in excellent sleep quality. It is worth noting that the room lacks an active ventilation system, requiring you to open the window facing the highway. While the road noise might be a factor for very light sleepers, we were completely exhausted from our daily itineraries, and it did not disturb our sleep at all. The bathroom functioned well: solid water pressure and a reliable supply of hot water. The standard shower cabin is inevitably a bit tight for a 2m frame, but it gets the job done. The room itself was highly functional, offering a proper closet with hangers and plenty of horizontal surface area for gear. Plugs are conveniently located right by the bed for charging devices, and the Smart TV allows for a quick Netflix login. Daily housekeeping kept the space consistently sharp. Breakfast was included and very well executed. Alongside a standard continental setup (pastries, ham, cheese, juice, cereals), you can order a hot dish of your choice from the menu. The food was genuinely tasty and carefully presented. Finally, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, creating a secure and highly welcoming environment.

Room was comfortable for our family of 4 and had a kettle and tea etc. The choices for the included breakfast were so varied, eggs, porridge, full scottish etc. Great deal for the price! I recommend you stay in for dinner, chef Paul served up some of the best food we've had in Scotland. The highlight was the staff - they were so kind and friendly, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them! Ellie was always a laugh :)

Our room was set a bit apart, so we did not hear noise from other rooms, however the road noise is a bit loud. It did quiet down at nighttime, and the Inn included earplugs which helped a lot!

It was so noisy due to the pipe close to our room, so you couldn’t sleep. Also, the noise reduction is super poor and you would hear all your neighbours in the corridor.

Very clean

We spent one night here before driving to the airport. It is located just a few minutes from Pitlochry and about an hour from Edinburgh Airport. The online check-in was easy and convenient. The room was clean and perfectly suitable for a one-night stay. Good value for money.

The walls are thin and you can hear everything through them. It looked a little prettier in the photos than it does in reality.

A very convenient and warm place, clean and gives a comfortable feeling. Room renovated, bathroom nice and clean. Breakfast was tasty and not conventional. Staff very helpful and nice.

El trato de las personas que trabajan en el hotel es genial! El desayuno es bueniiiisimo! Cenamos también en el hotel y la comida era muy buena. No está situado en un pueblo en concreto, pero está cerca de muchos sitios interesantes a los que es fácil llegar en coche. Si tuviera que volver, no lo dudaría, repetiría!

The hotel has a charming cottage-style atmosphere with beautiful, spotlessly clean rooms. The staff were fantastic, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. A special mention goes to the lady who looked after us at breakfast - she deserves top marks. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made our morning even more enjoyable.

Das Zimmer war sauber. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der sehr freundliche Service und das hervorragende Essen im Restaurant im Haus.

Das Haus hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Es wurde renoviert und das Zimmer war schön, jedoch sieht man, dass hier und da einfach ausgebessert wurde. Die Betten könnten bequemer sein, das Gebäude sollte man nicht von der Rückseite ansehen (abblätternde Farbe)

Un po' alto il costo considerato che si tratta di una struttura basica ed in un luogo tra le montagne Simile ad un motel, datato ma ben tenuto. Letto confortevole e bagni ristrutturato.

Het ontbijt was ietsje minder. De kok was op maandagavond niet aanwezig, waardoor er geen vegetarische optie was.

A lovely stay and owners and staff really great -- helpful and lovely. Really nice choice for breakfast especially and beautifully presented and cooked. We also had dinner which was nice and clearly a lot of effort and thought put in. We were walking and they kindly put us on the right the route the next day.

Das Personal war super nett und sehr zuvorkommend. Beim Frühstück hat es an nichts gefehlt. Die Unterkunft hat eine gute Lage für Ausflüge.

Das Badezimmer war leider sehr veraltet. Die Lüftung war laut und die Tür hat jedes mal gequietscht. Für eine Nacht aber vollkommen ausreichend.

The staff were amazing - always so friendly and helpful. Conveniently located on the drive from the Cairngorms back to Glasgow.

New pillows would go a long long way on the comfort factor! Other than that just the smell of the generator out back that occasionally whiffed in the window.

Room needed a little TLC

Prácticamente todo. La habitación era muy cómoda, con una cama enorme y comodísima. Habíamos solicitado una cama de matrimonio grande en lugar de dos individuales y agradecimos mucho que respetaran nuestra petición. El desayuno, además, estaba incluido y fue excepcional. Los productos eran de gran calidad, todo se preparaba al momento y estaba realmente delicioso. De hecho, también cenamos en el establecimiento y fue una de las mejores decisiones del viaje. La comida nos pareció excelente, probablemente de las mejores que probamos durante nuestra ruta por Gran Bretaña. La atención del personal fue fantástica. Nos atendieron con mucha amabilidad y cercanía, haciéndonos sentir muy bienvenidos en todo momento. Otro aspecto que nos sorprendió positivamente fue el aislamiento acústico. Aunque el alojamiento está situado sobre un pub, no se escuchaba absolutamente nada de ruido desde la habitación. Además, el detalle de dejar tapones para los oídos de cortesía nos pareció muy considerado. Todo estaba impecablemente limpio y cuidado.

Nada importante. Como único detalle, al hacer la reserva tuve la impresión de que el alojamiento estaba más cerca del centro del pueblo y que sería más cómodo desplazarse caminando. Aunque es perfectamente accesible y en coche se llega en pocos minutos, a pie la distancia es algo mayor de lo que esperaba.

Friendly welcome and staff were all lovely and helpful. It’s in a great location, with parking spots right at the door. Food in restaurant was really good.

Very tired looking, restaurant and bar area pretty unattractive which is a shame as food was excellent. Room was fine, very basic. Clean enough but silly things missed like bathroom bin not emptied, sticky stain on bedside table.
