Very comfy beds, great shower pressure and great location. Good breakfast selection.

No lift, parking was full when we arrived so had to park in a paid public car park.

Good location, room was adequate for one night stay.

Food and drink prices more expensive than expected.

We loved Pitlochry and our suite was in a perfect location, clean and comfortable!! We had a wonderful time!

They have now introduced a self service breakfast which depending what time you arrive there's not a lot left and we don't always want a fried breakfast when we stayed there before my wife liked to start the day with the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which didn't seem to be available any more and if it was it wasn't well advertised personally i would sooner pay a little more for a breakfast menu and have it served to the table also the room was very nice but we didn't like the view of the car park when i booked i thought i had booked a room at the front of the hotel my own fault should have phoned and checked.

Our room was very large for Euro standards, on the back of the building, windows on two walls, separate sitting area, quiet. Was great to spread out and relax.

McKays food was not outstanding, but there are several other options within a short walk.

Food and surroundings

We stayed in the townhouse across from the main hotel. Because of the old single glazed windows it was quite noisy. There was no mirror in the room area except in for one in the bathroom, which was steamed up after showering. So it was not ideal when preparing to go out.

Great location. Comfortable room. Shower was not great - very weak pressure and either scorching hot or freezing - maybe a trick to it?? Handy to have restaurant/bar onsite. Great breakfast spread. Lots of stairs - Stairs could be a challenge for someone with mobility issues and no one seemed available to assist. Parking first in best dressed as only parking for 12 vehicles but information offered on alternatives. Able to leave car in car park until 12noon on checkout day which was really great.

Stairs were a challenge. Bathroom sink teeny tiny - shower water pressure very poor and water temperature hard to control.

Rummet var lite väl varmt och vi fick sova med fönstret öppet trots att vi bodde i markplan.

Excellent central location. Good staff. Good breakfast. Dog friendly. Car park at rear - please don’t forget to register car details at reception desk on check in to avoid hefty fine by third party.

The prices at the bar. 2 drinks 1 beer and 1 glass of prssecco at £21.45. We had dinner out so cant comment on food prices.

De ligging is prima, parkeerplaats bij het hotel en de bar in het hotel is prima.

De kamer, er past een twijfelaar in en er hangt een tv nog kleiner dan het scherm van je laptop.. maar het matras is het ergste, veren staan nog in onze rug!

My request for a lower floor room resulted in Room 101. Although there are a few stairs, it was worth the effort. The room is perfect! A very comfortable bed, choice of pillow, and a wonderful shower! Breakfast was delicious, extensive selection of continental and cooked. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Great location for the rail station, and shopping.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Cottage war auch sehr schön.

Upon arrival we were accommodated in one of the apartment buildings across the road from the hotel which was a surprise and wished we could have stayed longer. So spacious, clean and had everything you would need for at longer stay. Very happy and would highly recommend.

Nothing but signage to apartment 2 could have been a bit clearer as it was in the basement and wasn't easy to find at first.

Location

Only 12 parking spaces for whole hotel including their additional accommodation along the high street. Ended up parking on the street. Dogs everywhere, in the restaurant, in the bar, at breakfast. Had I known when I booked that ‘dogs stay free’ I wouldn’t have bothered booking. Dogs should simply not be allowed where people are eating. We had to leave the restaurant earlier than planned and find somewhere else to have a drink pre and post show because of the number of dogs in the lounge. We won’t be back.

Fantastic location — the cottage sits right beside the hotel and next door to the fish and chip shop, perfect for an easy meal. The staff were really helpful at check‑in, and breakfast had lots of options for both grown‑ups and little ones.

Not much to dislike at all. Just be aware that the parking is around the back of the hotel, so you might need a few trips when carrying bags, and the stairs in the cottage are on the steep side.

Really lovely room - great view - and great ensuite. Super handy for train and also theatre.

Just above the bar and quiz night so could hear the quizmaster (although it didn't go on too late). Repeated messages pushing to make dinner reservation (even when I had) Very disappointing meal, half of which was inedible. Limited gluten free choices. Skipped breakfast on that basis. Would stay again, but eat elsewhere.

Great location. Free parking (albeit limited). Room service ("make my room Bonnie") on demand very good (especially fluffy towels). Big bed in superior room. Reception staff v. helpful. Fantastic breakfast with a toaster that actually toasted and a great Nespresso coffee machine.

Bar service very slow and drinks expensive. Sports tv in lounge intrusive, had to shout! Dogs have no place in a restaurant (on chairs and paws on table!!). We ate twice in the restaurant. Food "ok" but not outstanding. We left hungry on one occasion because our order was missed and we'd waited long enough. Prices generally in Pitlochry are high.

Location great. Food excellent. Car parking included was a nice bonus. Staff lovely and very attentive. Room was very good with a few minor setbacks.

Seating in the lounge/dining area at the front has become very worn and in need of updating. My wife had no suitable mirror that had either lighting or was close to a socket to use tongs/hairdryer. No light around the mirror in bathroom.

Typisch schottisch, zentral gelegen an der Hauptstrasse, aber ruhig zum Schlafen. Reichhaltiges Frühstück und gute Küche im Restaurant.

Das Restaurant ist alt und stimmungsvoll, aber auch düster. Das Zimmer wird nicht gereinigt, wenn man nur 3 Nächte bleibt.

Accommodation was very poor. Tiny room and even smaller bathroom. Bedside lamp was broken and reported however it wasn’t fixed during our stay. Very squeaky bed which disturbed our sleep all night long. Wi-Fi wasn’t working and £15.50 for a pint of lager and G&T seemed expensive. We mentioned these issues while at the hotel but didn’t receive any feedback from the manager as requested.

I liked the ease of check-in, the friendliness of the staff, the room was packed with everything we could have wanted, the shower was amazing, the cleanliness, the breakfast was very good quality (the baked beans were actually hot! It's amazing how many places only do tepid baked beans), the way we were asked if everything was ok with our stay at checkout

The tea in the rooms was a bit on the poor side - lucky we bought our own. And the coffee - I love a good cup of coffee at breakfast but the coffee machine was beyond my grasp, I'm afraid. You had to so something with pods and pull a lever and touch a screen...no, not doing that. Maybe having some instant for non-baristas such as me might be useful!

Von in der Früh bis am Nachmittag war ein Aufenthalt wegen des Lärms von Straßenbauarbeiten unerträglich. Die Fenster waren alles andere als schalldicht.

Bar downstairs was a bit of a riot and packed with non-residents and very noisy. There were no arrangements for residents. Bit of a free-for-all really. Food wasn't great and service was slow. It's not cheap here and you'd expect residents to be looked after a bit better than those off the street. Chip shop next door is like a school dinner hall.

The location was perfect for us to walk to the Festival Theatre Staff were nice and friendly

Our room was on the second floor, everything looked nice until we came to the stairs to get to our room, the stair carpet was very grubby and needed to be vacuumed. The room we had was ok but the bin hadn’t been emptied from previous guests, no bulb in bedside lamp, no shower gel in shower. There was a discarded packet of prescription tablets on bedroom floor probably from previous guest also.

Four of us in 3 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were not serviced during our stay and I reported this on day 3. The receptionist came to the room saying they only had one cleaner. She did a small clean but not her job You cannot charge hotel prices then not service rooms with clean towels, replenish tea coffee etc for 3 nights. Totally unacceptable

The location was great, the room was lovely.

The car park was full, I picked the hotel as it had parking. That was a disappointment. No mirror in room to dry your hair in front of. No ability keep open the window when it was a warm night. Only one tea bag in room.

I got the townhouse all by ourselves. 2 bedrooms and 1 toilet. Just next to the main house. Check in is at the restaurant n got to wait 20 minutes for one of the waiting staff to come over and hand us the key. They all too busy. Car parking behind is full all the time. So park next block public car park. Breakfast is normal.

Reception should be more forthcoming cos they can see us 4 pax waiting at a tiny corners, tired after driving, but they couldn't help until 20 minutes later n when other guests started to join us with luggage.

Breakfast was very good only issue was the coffee machine both days there was an issue which was rectified

Breakfast - good buffet-style breakfast, with welcome addition of poached eggs made to order! Room - good size, well furnished with large, comfortable bed. Spacious shower area with powerful 'rain' shower was most welcome. Didn't dine there. The hotel has a very extensive combined eating and bar area which was busy for lunch and dinner during our August weekend stay: I suspect this town-centre hotel attracts many non—residents for food and drink during peak tourist season.

Live music from bar area filtered through to our room - not loud and candidly, not a big problem for us at the time but worth being aware of this possibility at weekends. At peak season this is a bustling hotel - this was just fine for our short stay. We enjoyed our stay. (It's perhaps not the place for a quiet meal nor for a quiet dram in a comfy residents' lounge.)

Eine gute Lage und geeignet für einen kurzem Zwischenstop auf dem Weg von Edinburgh nach Inverness. Die Bar ist gut ausgestattet und es gab Live Musik. Das Frühstück war umfangreich und sehr lecker.

Das Hotel ist sehr verwinkelt und die Parkplätze reichen nicht für die Gäste aus. Durch Zufall haben wir in einer entfernten Seitenstraße parken können. Unser Zimmer war eine kleine heimelige Dachkammer, mit Minibad. Die Kaffeemaschine auf dem Fensterbrett, der Durchgang zwischen Wand und Bett hin zum Bad wäre durch Koffer komplett verschlossen, wenn nicht der Wandschrank zum "Koffer hineinrollen" vorhanden wäre.

I liked everything about this hotel. My single room was lovely with a beautiful shower room. The staff were lovely and well trained. The food was excellent (venison for me) and the location could not be better.

Coqueto, limpio y bien situado.

Hacía frío y no tenían calefacción. Un empleado tuvo que dejarnos su propio radiador, muy pequeño y no calentaba lo suficiente. La ventana del baño encima no cerraba del todo Las ventanas mal insonorizadas y toda la noche oyendo el paso de los coches.

Lovely decor, super friendly staff, and tasty food. The hotel is on the main street, so easy for browsing the shops and galleries and walking distance ( 15minutes) from the festival theatre, which was the reason for our visit.

If you are a light sleeper, you need to keep the windows closed as there is quite a lot of noise from the road outside.
