A lovely place to stay, very central. Staff was very nice.

We stayed in room 15. The mattress wasn't the best. Needs to be replaced.

Breakfast service awful, not friendly and no coffee. We had to ask the girl and she never told us it was refilled. Never asked if we were ok or if there was anything else. Could taste the vinegar on the poached eggs. Tinned mushrooms. Had tomato which wasn’t on the menu. Fire alarm at 04.10, not a problem but expected an apology in the morning or acknowledgment that it happened. Empty Plastic bottle under bed when we checked in. Decaf coffee only and in my son’s room no biscuits. Nobody to check us out or ask us if our stay was ok. Cleaner told us to leave the keys on the bar, this was at 10.00 am.

Dinner and breakfast were great! Lovely dining room bar and lounge. Food and drink all value for money. the hotel is central Carmarthen town which is great for getting around.

The stair cases were too steep and too may for us old fogies. We appreciate there is little can be done about this apart from installing a small lift, but the building is an old coach house with restricted space.

Location, Hotel is on a main road so it will be noisy, secondary glazing panels missing which made it worse. The room was a lot smaller than the pictures indicate, not many places to store things. The bathroom requires hooks / shelves as there is nowhere to hang towels or store essentials.

Very central for where we were going. Restaurant food very good. Staff very friendly.

It was a very wet night and the rain drummed of the metal flat roof all night.

Room was clean, bathroom spotless. Ate in restaurant in evening, food good. We were able to park at back of property in the car park which was perfect. lady doing the bar and restaurant in the evening was very good, attentive and chatty. Good value for money. There's only one bedside lamp which didn't work and the flush on toilet was temperamental. I did let them know and they were going to fix them.

The locality was perfect. Centre of town, within easy waking distance of both bus and train station. Excellent breakfast provided with lots of options. Staff were very obliging, taking care of our luggage for a few hours until our departure in the early afternoon.

Despite advertising free parking I had an email stating they only had very few parking spaces that cannot be booked. I was referred to a local pay and display. Despite advertising having a bar and restaurant our evening meal was terrible and the bar closed early.

Street noise at 6am was annoying, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel.

The staff at the hotel were welcoming on arrival. The single room was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee was provided. All facilities were in the room including a hairdryer. There was no real street noise despite overlooking the Main Street. The room included breakfast, I just had a bacon sandwich which was nice. Thanks

There was a lot of music, from a band maybe which thankfully ended about 10.30pm.

We were in a room at the front which was very noisy with traffic etc from the street outside. No double glazing or any sort of sound proofing on windows.

The carpet! Needs a serious clean or replacing. Everything else looks great but the carpet makes the accommodation look shabby.

Location excellent. A short stroll to shops restaurants and pubs. Good choice at breakfast omelette full English and a selection of cereals. Carmarthen Castle a 10 min walk. Bed comfy Good quality pillows. Tea and coffee replenished daily however only got bikkies on our last day.

Could be difficult for people with mobility issues. Quite a lot of stairs and slopes. Bath was very deep which made it hard to get in and out of the shower. Pidgeon feathers on sill in bathroom accumulated over our 4 night stay from the open window (it was very warm) they were never removed.

All the staff were very friendly and provided good customer service. The location is perfect in the town centre, and we were parked securely in the internal courtyard. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The choices for breakfast were good and table service was quick. I would recommend The Boars Head for a good value stay for singles, friends or families..

Some larger vehicles may have difficulty getting into the car park as the access is quite narrow in some places.

The family room gave us enough space of spread out. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom looked as if it had recently been re-modelled. The food was excellent and always plenty on the plate. The staff were helpful and attentive.

The water never got hot - no matter what time of day it was always tepid, so showering wasn't pleasant. The duvet was very heavy and tog rated for winter, even though there's a heatwave. (I went to the local Tesco and bought a summer duvet.) The stairs are very steep and awkwardly spaced in places so not good for folk with mobility issues.

Gezellig typisch hotel, oud maar gerenoveerd. Leuke bar, aangenaam restaurant met lekker eten. Nette kamer en ruime badkamer. Zowel ontbijt als diner waren prima en het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Eigen parking maar beperkt aantal plaatsen en enge inrit (poort).

De nadelen verbonden aan een oud gebouw: geen lift, moeilijke trappen en nauwe doorgang voor de parking.

Breakfast was excellent, hot and well cooked along with fresh juice and drinks. The waitress was very good and communicated well. The Evening meal was okay I do detest things being presented in little dishes (Cauliflower Cheese and Baked Beans at breakfast) I would rather have it all on one plate. The female employee that booked me in and served the evening meal was also very professional and good at her job.

The room (24) needed to have a fan or something as it got very hot. USB points would be a bonus. Perhaps warn people on the site about steep stairs to some of the rooms.

The "manageress" was rather surly but a young man who was serving in the restaurant (siradwr Cymraeg roedd e - da iawn) was great.

Bedroom walls were paper thin. I heard loud snoring and tv from adjoining rooms.No a/c OK. But no fan and no way of opening the window. So a very warm and noisy couple of nights meant very poor sleep.

Breakfast was somewhat more healthy compared with other hotels The cooking was of a very good standard and there was a good range of options on the menu. The staff were friendly and approachable.

Breakfast - omelette with mushroom and tomato was lovely.

Accommodation was very disappointing for the price paid. It smelt of damp and was dark and dingy.

Staff were very helpful and allowed me to store my bike securely in a store room for the night. Room was ideal for a single traveller, clean and comfortable. The evening meal was excellent with very generous portions. A generous cooked breakfast was included in the deal which set me up for the day. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

Some of the tiles in the shower were cracked and needed replacing.

Booked this Hotel/Pub as my husband and myself were attending a concert at the theatre nearby, Central location to shops, pubs, eating places. Had trouble finding the private car park on arrival as we drove around to the back of the hotel. I had to go in the pub and ask and was told it was at the side of the pub which was a very tight alleway which lead to a small car park at the back. Our room was on top floor, tricky stairs leading up so be careful. Room clean and tidy. Decent overbath shower . Alarm went off around 12.30 am just after we got into bed. We didnt know what alarm it was. My husband went out of room to find someone but no one about and other guests wondering what was going on. He phoned out of hours answer phone provided but went straight to answer phone. We said alarm going off on phone but dont know if message was received. Would be helpful if someone to speak to for after hours emergencies. How do we know it wasnt a fire ? Alarm eventually went off after about 20 mins. Cooked Breakfast the next morning wasnt the best but ok. Would stay again.

Das Hotel hat noch Zimmer im Erdgeschoss verkauft, die es gar nicht mehr hatte, und bei der Ankunft war dann nicht mal mehr das Zimmer im 1. Stock verfügbar, auf das wir uns trotz gebrochenen Fußes eingelassen hatten. Wer auf ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss angewiesen ist, sollte sich lieber rückversichern, dass er wirklich das gewünschte Zimmer erhält. Die junge Mitarbeiterin war völlig überfordert und ziemlich pampig, als wir aufgrund der Nichteinhaltung der gebuchten Leistung eine kostenlose Stornierung verlangten. Erst über den sehr guten Kundenservice von booking.com bekamen wir das Geld zurück. Da keine Übernachtung stattfand, können wir die Zimmer etc. nicht beurteilen.

Lovey place but its a old building with no lift so if you find stairs difficult mention it when booking the room .we had a Lovey lady called dee seeing us really made our experience much nicer.

First come first served policy on room fans. Hence no means to cool down room nor no effort made to correct this. Breakfast advertised as being served til 11pm on website- finished at 0930hrs. Shower was mediocre at best.

Room was OK but I had a choice Open the window and hear the noise, including all night seagull partying or swelter in a very hot room Breakfast was included. As a single I had a table not in the proper restaurant but in the bar with garish lighting and uncomfortable benches. I have a bad back so not ideal but apparently not able to change despite there being empty tables. No interest from staff to assist. That said, the evening waitress was lovely I would not recommend this place in summer and not for single women

I was surprised by the room, it was daunting staying ontop of a pub, but it was well done, clean and more than acceptable. The road was not busy and I enjoyed my stay

Breakfast selection was a little disappointing if i am honest. This is no reflection on the staff, the waitress was most friendly serving me and my son and did so with a smile. The selection is what let it down a little.

On arrival the member of staff noticed that I was walking with a stick and changed our room to one at a lower level. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel. The staff were friendly and the variety on offer was good. The location is excellent.

The room smelt a bit damp. There were no fans and it was very hot. We couldn’t get the water in the tap to run cod so had to drink lukewarm water. There was nowhere to hang the towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was disappointing. Having looked online beforehand we were looking forward to Welsh Rarebit but that was no longer on offer. I had the vegetarian full English. The sausages were vegetable ones and the rest was unremarkable whereas my partner had the omelette which he said was rubbery and he was offered no toast to go with it.

The Boars Head provides an excellent breakfast with the overnight stay. They also offer limited off street overnight parking.

Our room was overlooking the road and the single glazing provided no sound barrier and so it was very noisy and of course there was no AC which was uncomfortable given our current temperatures.

The breakfast was poor .. not a great selection... I felt the breakfast ( cooked) wasn't great quality .presentation was a let down and the buffet selection could be better ...

The fruit selection at breakfast wasn't great ...toast consisted of one slice each...halved. .only orange juice,not apple or cranberry,cereal were the mini boxes . I was disappointed as the recent reviews were so much better .

The hotel accommodated an early check in which was very kind. The location is good if you want to stay somewhere central

Beds were very uncomfortable, you could feel every spring. Pillows were rock hard, all in all not conducive to any form of sleep. The toilet seat was falling off. Lots of noise from the street in the early hours, not the hotel’s fault but people shouting, cars and their massive exhausted whizzing by at 2am wasn’t great. Maybe some noise cancelling glazing would help? Breakfast was ok, staff difficult to locate in the morning and when you ask for anything be prepared to be meet with a grunt or two.

Ich bin aufgrund von Zugausfällen sehr spät zum Check-in gekommen. Man hat mich trotzdem sehr freundlich begrüsst und das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich.

Breakfast was ok, but the scrambled eggs sweet very rubbery. Stairs to rooms are very steep if you have any mobility issues speak to the team and I am.sure they will accommodate your needs as best they can. Took a while to work out how to use the TV until I realised the aerial was unplugged!

The fact that I was staying a quiet part of the hotel was great the catch was that there were strong LED Light on outside they where so powerful that at 10pm it felt like 5pm because of how light it was . If it’s for safety especially for female travellers then great but trying to sleep was terrible I would prefer if they had proper blinds and blackout curtains to stop the light coming in.
