Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was located close to town facilities. Clean & tidy. Plenty of parking nearby. Outside decor & Lounge area look very presentable
Unfortunately we were kept awake most of the night by shouting drunks who congregated nearby. One was sat on the front window ledge for a good while when we arrived. It’s a shame that they aren’t discouraged but like all towns now you never see a Police Officer
Location
Nothing
Staff didn’t tell us there was a funeral on in the hotel and we couldn’t hear them trying to check us in at the desk over the noise of the funeral guests. And the staff member checking us in was more interested in getting our breakfast pre order (which we have never had to do anywhere before) than checking us in, in a respectful manner towards ourselves and the funeral guests.
Location, comfortable in a cosy and homely way. Reasonable breakfast
Area around hoyrl a bit noisy on a Friday night/Saturday morning.
Nice decor and Breakfast, staff very pleasant.
Room was right at the top with steep stairs so not great for mobility issues. Room was tiny with uneven floor, bathroom was very small and beds where small. For the price I have had way better rooms. I just feel we where unlucky as other rooms looked easy to get to and probably more spacious. went to the bar for a pint before bed and the beer was undrinkable, staff changed it but it was still the same. I had had the same drink in the pub a few doors down that was spot on so maybe a line issue.
Very welcoming and accommodating!
It was very hot in the premises despite it not being particularly hot weather, however it didn't spoil our stay and we would definitely come back again.
breakfast superb
leaving wales
Atmosphere in the hotel / Staff very good
Very small room / needs updating
Delicious granola
Nothing
easy to find and park, very clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed
Ordering breakfast down to cereal and number of slices of toast the day before was a bit odd.
Modern and spotless
Very noisy outside the hotel up until 5.30 in the morning got absolutely no sleep
Location is ok
I couldn’t sleep at all ( not even a single minute) as there were a lot of drunk people outside the hotel shouting and screaming all night. There were no fan in the hotel room and I had to keep the window open, so it was noisy
Goede locatie in het stadje. Op zich een prima hotel in potentie. Simpele kamers maar schoon. Goed ontbijt.
The breakfast was great and the rooms were nice
Noise levels were high
Clean and comfortable. Had to leave early in the morning so they made us a take away sandwich for breakfast, very helpful! Would stay again
Fantastic breakfast, very clean room, very cheerful staff
Our room was on the front, noisy when a local nightclub closed at 4am . Not the hotel’s fault and only happened on one night
Location was ideal , staff really helpful and super friendly, breakfast was delicious.
Not the hotel’s fault, we stayed in the heatwave, no AC , youths shouting outside the hotel at 3am , it was a Saturday night .
Friendly staff, good location.
We had room 15. The window was incredibly small, meaning it was very hot. The temperature was around mid 20’s, however was rising later in the week to 30’s. I don’t think we would have been able to stay in the room at these temperatures if we were there then. We did have a fan, which we were very grateful for, but sleeping was difficult.
Food was excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was good and we were thoughtfully provided with a fan in the hot weather. The lounge was comfortable and air conditioning which kept it cool.
The only thing that was problem was the steep stairs and no lift, but we were warned about this in advance.
Clean and tidy
Nothing.
Lovely rooms and very clean. Staff Lovely. Car park around the back was first come 1st served which was great as we got there early and our room was ready. Breakfast great.
No air conditioning which would have helped as it Was 30 degrees. Had a fan which we had on all night. As with other Welsh hotels we stayed in, no fridge. Is this a Welsh thing? Is it because it's usually cold and wet?
Great place to stay with excellent food and friendly staff.
Nothing
Good location. Nice breakfast.
Have to pre-order breakfast the night before. Rooms outdated and in need of re-decoration. Room had no view and high windows. To hot in room, no aircon. Wasn’t until I checked in that I was informed no food served on Monday Evenings.
Breakfast was amazing staff were lovely. The room needed 2 x chairs because where people have sat on the sides of the bed it had collapsed!! Very difficuld to sleep on .
The BED No chef for evening meals!!!
The place was nice and the breakfast was great. We booked it on a bank holiday. Everything was awesome.
As I remember no air-conditioning. Parking were paid and limited.
Location was great and breakfast very nice
Room was cold radiator not working.
Location and price
Nothing
Good location, handy parking outside Lovely restaurant serving good food with decent portions and staff were absolutely lovely
Very dated and tired. Things like lack of proper finishing of tiling, old appliances and tired decor let the rooms down. No air con also made the whole bedroom corridor stuffy and hot. Sleeping was hard.
Grande chambre agréable, bon petit-déjeuner, bon emplacement avec un parking à proximité
Beaucoup de bruit dans la rue cette nuit-là venant de jeunes alcoolisés.
I like it the staff are amazing friendly always happy to help I love staying here
Unfortunately other residents were not considered of others around them when going to there rooms so was very loud and kept waking me up
All was week
Clean and friendly staff
Great location. Friendly staff. Bed comfortable and room nice and quiet throughout the night.
We were both ill within an hour of eating breakfast.
Clean, close to town. Friendly staff.
Nothing
polite courteous staff, nice breakfast, central location helped us get to where we want pretty fast, the neighbour hood was quiet.
narrow staircase, small rooms, bathroom cold, shower pressure low
Comfy beds and warm room in a good central location. Staff helpful and friendly and breakfast which was included in the price of the room was tasty and well cooked. There was a good selection of toiletries and tea facilities available. Windows could be opened to let fresh air in which was lovely. Lots of fluffy towels and good sized bath sheets.
Doors have Yale locks and to open you turn key the opposite way to what is normally done so I struggled to get into the room on our arrival, not great after a long journey and you just want to get in and crash, although helpful staff member came and showed me how to open it. Breakfast had to be preordered literally as you booked in and unless you asked to change choice or time of breakfast as we had to on our last morning, you potentially had the same order for length of stay at the same time although again not a problem for staff when asked if I could change times we had chosen to have our breakfast on previous days due to us booking out early. Looking at previous reviews this system had been introduced during Covid and has obviously been adopted long term. Although breakfast was tasty and hot it lacked a couple of items you would expect on a full English breakfast such as mushrooms and baked beans and wasn’t sure if these were on the menu as we didn’t really see it when we were asked to preorder as stated earlier, the fresh fruit and coffee were delicious though. These were only slight niggles though and we wouldn’t be put off staying at the Falcon again.
Friendly helpful staff
Steep stairs and basic facilities Very little parking available
Breakfast was excellent
Having to carry physical keys at all times both for the room and property door.
Lovely staff. Great location. I had a fairly basic room but perfectly functional. Great WiFi so able to work easily on laptop. Would stay again
Everything was fine.
Excellent food - blistering breakfast - very friendly & helpful staff
Single room was a little snug - but useful for what it was. It would be useful to have a mains power socket at the bed-end of the room.
Location / breakfast
Old fashioned rooms
Fabulous breakfast, tailored my gluten free needs! Lovely staff!
Very nice break and good choice
Lovely room, clean and tidy, excellent breakfast Really friendly staff
Fan in room noisy.
Friendly staff, clean room, central location
Breakfast was good, pity the table was small. Parking area very small and had to move vehicles to get in and out.
Hotel facilities were great, staff very friendly and helpful.
Only noticed after my friend told me that when entering your room the door doesn't lock after you close the door behind you. So I effectively slept with my door unlocked and anyone could of entered.
We've stayed here before and can't fault the place.
Just a nice homely comfortable stay
It would be useful. to have a soap dish in the shower, also the shower is difficult to control temperature
Good location. Friendly staff. Facilities were good. WiFi good.
Room was very small. Not even space for open suitcase !! Having to announce breakfast timings was a bit hard.
Very friendly staff. Nice room with everything that was needed
location/ staff and breakfast great
Location was perfect , breakfast was great took.
The lady that greeted us was so lovely. She got us parked, checked in and made sure we had everything we needed. She was super happy and smiley which was very refreshing!
Nothing!
Fabulous breakfast. Very clean. Lovely, helpful staff. Nice and quiet in the evening.
Location and comfort
Small room, but adequate
The staff were very helpful and the food was very good
Room was small and dated The en suite shower was poor and had a deep step in the room. The shower and the tiled floor were slippery
Easy to park. Easy access. Nice clean room, well supplied. Very comfortable. Very good meal in the evening. Good choices on the menu. Good breakfast and plenty of! We've stayed here before and will continue to do so whenever we're in the area.
Can't think of anything!
Very friendly staff who remembered us, lovely breakfast, another good stay.
The price has increased a lot since we first stayed over. If it increases we will stay at the local pub which is much cheaper and still comfortable.
Very attentive and helpful staff
Little bit of disturbance by noise from plumbing from other rooms
Best place I stayed, in a month of travel.
I hated to leave....
The room was very comfy and heating was controllable. I was cold and wet when I arrived as I had been cycling. The receptionist kindly offered to put the heating on in my room which was really appreciated.
Instant coffee served at breakfast!!
There was a good breakfast with a lot of choice. The room was adequate in terms of space. The staff were cheerful and helpful.
A walk-in shower would help those guests with limited mobility.
Staff welcomimg
Staff helpful
Location
Breakfast was very good value as part of the bill, served by very helpful and friendly staff. Bed was nice and soft.
My room overlooked the recycling depot for Carmathen which started operating at 5am. If I closed the double glazing at the windows, the noise was reduced but with the windows open, sleep was impossible. It might be an idea to tell guests this rather than leave them to find it out themselves then they can choose whether to book or whether to ask for another room.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Bed was uncomfortable.
The Falcon Hotel was my first choice for a 3-night stay in Carmarthen as it was convenient to the train and bus stations. I booked a large double room and I would not have wanted anything smaller. The bed was comfortable and the shower adequate. The room price included an enjoyable breakfast, which must be pre-ordered the evening before. Otherwise, I did not eat any meals at the hotel.
My room (20) was located on the upper floor overlooking the adjoining muncipal parking lot. This lot also provides rear access to the nearby Merlin’s Walk shopping mall, which receives truck deliveries and dumpster servicing in the very early hours of the morning. The weather was warm and my room hot during my visit. With no air-conditioning, I needed to keep the window open at night for ventilation and the early morning truck noise from the parking lot was not exactly conducive to a good night’s sleep.
Being vegetarian, the breakfast was good. However, the bathroom's extractor fan was not working, they did not replenish the toiletries (we stayed 2 nights). The parking was an issue. The hotels car park was very small, the public car park had limited spaces, and could only park maximum of 4 hours. So, if you are planning to park your car for more than 4 hours, will have to move your car. We had the top floor room, rhe WiFi did not connect. The hotel was bit cramped and bit dated, but neat and clean and well presented.
See above
2 nights stay. Very comfortable. Staff excellent.
ALL GOOD
Amazing staff, very kind, friendly and accommodating
WiFi connection is not the best, otherwise it would be a 10 out of 10 rating
Good location in the middle of town, friendly staff on reception and downstairs is welcoming. Room was basic but clean and had the facilities you would expect, no frills but bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.
Bedrooms are a bit dated and need a refresh. Room was far too hot with only a small fan. People hanging around in the car park on the Saturday night, not the hotels fault but noisy especially with a taxi rank right outside. Ordering breakfast the night before is a little strange as you can’t change your mind. Car parking is a bit awkward and we were blocked in, so check with reception if you need to leave early.
Good location, 10 minute walk from the railway station. It was main high street close to shops, restaurants etc Lovely breakfast and very clean. Staff were lovely.
Our room looked into a wall 😏
