The apartment was really large. Very well equipped. Very clean. Nice to have 2 toilets. Well situated for the shops and town. 2 bedrooms and bathroom with separate bath and shower. Comfy living room and very large kitchen dinner.

Bit scary getting the car into the carpark narrow opening.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room with several extra items that most hotels often forget or don't include. Excellent breakfast selection. Overall 10/10 excellent and highly recommended. Well done!

Only issue I can see is very hard to go to the car park as its very narrow and could be dangerous.

Recently refurbished to a high standard. Spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was good with cooked options available.

The bed was very uncomfortable. Mattress needs replacing. Access to the car park was through an extremely narrow archway. Would be helpful for use of other car parks to be part of the cost.

Clean, very spacious rooms and a great breakfast. The parking is fine as long as you stop in and get directions first on how to get into the parking lot.

The staff were amazing. They were very warm, welcoming and attentive during our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Hotel car park was difficult to get into. However, there is a car park across the road, which was handy. It does charge but we were happy with it.

Good size rooms with amenities

Hotel car park fits for small or mid soze car but not for wide body car/suv looe range rover. But reception (Ian) was very helpful to help park in alternate parking space (2 min walk) Having said that hotel communicated before tht car park entry is very tight.

Twin room with two beds in each room I stayed with my husband and 9 years old son was exceptionally good in terms of location space , practically , spacious bathroom all in god working condition , cleanliness , sound proof , comfortable bedding , little fridge with tea coffee making facility inside the room . free parking inside the hotel next to the building , breakfast included and was worth each penny . Co-op is just across the road . I would love to stay there again when I visit Wales next time .

I have not given a review score as I did not stay in the hotel, when I was planning our trip to wales, I booked this hotel as it stated it was only 12 miles from Bangor, this suited us perfectly as we were travelling home from Holyhead the next day.it was only when we were travelling to bangor that we noticed the hotel was 4.5hrs away from Bangor, both the hotel and booking.com was very misleading with the location as it states that the hotel was only 12 miles from bangor.. tried to cancel but was too late, contacted the hotel but they could/would not help... had to book another hotel... unfortunately got NO offer of partial or full refund.

The bed was super comfy and the shower was a delight. The staff was lovely and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you.

Hmmm nothing much it's the time of locking gate we actually wanted to go put around 5 am but the gate was locked unfortunately until 7 am from 11pm .

Room was spacious, bathroom was modern. Lots of storage. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the ladies working were very attentive in ensuring we had plenty of toast! Car park is locked at night which was an added bonus for extra security. Parking was quite limited but we got a space.

The entrance to the car park is very narrow. This wasn’t a problem for us but a van would be more difficult to manoeuvre in.

it's hard to describe, the entire vibe was happy, good energy if you know what I mean. The hotel was old, but you can tell it was loved. That translated into things like proper china tea pots for an endless cup of tea at breakfast to breakfast cooked to order. The town was easily walkable, but it was hilly in places so bring a walking pole if you need one. Lots of alley ways to explore and the view from the castle over the river was nice. The light from the sunrise made for great photography too...

I cannot say there was anything I disliked. It was hot and humid, but that's not anyone's fault other than the weather gods decided that it was going to be so...

Very clean and beautiful room, fan was a massive bonus, did struggle to connect my phone to the wifi, needed to put a vpn on and then it worked, lovely staff and breakfast was lovely

Very spacious, clean and well modernised. They had provided fans because of the heatwave. It might have been more cost-effective for the hotel to fit blinds on the skylights but we were comfortable enough.

The only slight room for improvement would be fresh pastries for breakfast rather than packeted ones. The cooked breakfasts were very good both in quality and choice.

We scratched our car coming into the narrow way to the car park for the first time very annoying

Vielen Dank für das tolle Upgrade ins Penthouse, das war spitze! Es war alles da, was man sich für einen entspannten Urlaub wünschen kann. Auch der Parkplatz im Innenhof war fein, aber gut, dass unser Berlingo gerade noch so durch die schmale Einfahrt passte. ;-)

I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was booked for a work trip and so I didn’t really have much information on the hotel (and our booking platform is usually more miss than hit!). Warm welcome, large comfortable room with a great bathroom. Staff asked about food allergies when I checked in and the following morning I had soya milk provided for breakfast and the waitress also ran through what I could eat. Great breakfast. Really can’t fault the place and if I’m back in Carmarthen I will happily stay again.

What a find, found the hotel when looking for somewhere to stay overnight. Booked, didn't check the reviews (don't tend to as we like to form our own opinion) On arrival, the details for parking were spot on and we have no issues entering the car park which is free of charge and they're in the town centre. We arrived at reception to check in and were greeted with a nice clean fresh hotel. We were advised we had been upgraded to the apartment from executive and it didn't disappoint. How lovely to have a lounge and all the extra facilities it brought. Lots of little extras to make your stay more pleasant. We ate out at the local Italian a 2 minute walk away and grabbed some goodies from the Coop opposite. We had a wonderful night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Now came breakfast, wow better than some of the best hotels we have stayed at. Cooked to perfection, good quality and in addition all the extras you would expect. Latte can I say perfect,hot and a perfect blend. I also had a takeaway for my own ward journey. This really is a must and a bargain price.0

Room rather warm but fan helped

The room was brilliant except, because of the Heatwave it was almost unbearable, to be fair they had 2 large fans on the go all the time I stayed sfor 5 nights I also took a fan with me and 3 fans just circulated hot air about. The breakfast was top notch and the staff were brilliant.

I travelled by train and expected the taxis to take to the hotel, however because it is only a short distance about 3/4 mile they refuse to take you, that would be okay but the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill. I am 83 and have experience one heart attack, therefore lugging 2 siutcase in a heatwave I thought I was in for another. I will report the situation to the local council, they should lay on some sort of shuttle service. I will nwver stay in Carmarthen again

This hotel is at a great location in Carmarthen. The market and the river is very close by and easily accessible through a short walk. There's a co-op grocery store right across the street. There are so many restaurants and coffee places for your breakfast and meals. We lived in the apartment and it was one of the best places I have ever stayed. 10/10

The only minor issue with this hotel was the ingress to parking. It was very narrow but once you do it a couple of times you are good. Nonetheless, this was a great place to stay.

Comfortable rooms close to the center of Carmarthen without excessive street noise. The staff was kind and knowledgeable.

The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The choice for breakfast was far more than we expected and was prepared once you had sat at your table so was freshly cooked and very tasty. The room was well presented, and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the ablutions were very efficient.

Small point, we didn't work out that the towel rail was on hot until halfway through the night!! Boiling hot summer evening too. Could also have done with 4 pillows instead of 2 (2 of us).

This was my second time at Spilman Hotel. Received a warm welcome, and it really felt like coming home. The staff go to extreme lengths to ensure everything is the best it can possibly be. They are courteous and welcoming. They obviously take great pride in their work because the rooms and public areas are immaculately clean. Breakfasts are freshly cooked to order and plentiful. Perfect location. I travel by train and the station is a 6minute walk from the hotel. Buses from Aberystwyth and the coast stop right outside the hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Honestly, there is nothing to dislike.

Due to the extreme heat wave, I was pleasantly surprised that not only was the room had an electric fan, but also a small glass fronted Chiller. The Chiller was a bonus and I used it daily.

Access for a X Type was tricky, but did not affect my stay, only my nerves. I'm glad to say no scratches to my body work.

Very nice accommodation nice location with shops and eating places within walking distance. Fridge in room was a lovely bonus especially as weather was hot. Staff friendly and lovely breakfast.

The room was great - very spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and quiet. We were able to park right outside, and the hotel's Reception, bar and breakfast room were only just across the courtyard. The staff were lovely - very attentive and helpful. It was no distance to walk into the heart of Carmarthen, which is a historic town and a great base for touring. The hotel's breakfast is highly recommended!
