Joyful Motel

Learn how to do business, make sure you are educated to reply what's app properly, You took over this place from another operator, don't behave like you are a godfather of Langkawi, learn how to talk or reply in a proper English, We have stayed here many time and the previous operated was so nice

Have a night sleep at this motel with wedding dinner going on the ground floor on the motel. The room is with basic equipment; Bed sheet is not clean enough (stained) and weird smell on the room when we get in too. Nothing much nearby the motel except a mall and night market within walking distance.

Stayed 2 nights in Joy Motel. The room was not clean as i expected, with lots of stains on the bedspread But cheap and well located. Very Clean bathroom, Good Air cond, Very limited walking space with one chair & One old table with cabinet which was very smelly ( cockroach ) One very bad experience when leaving the room i made sure the room is locked, but upon return we found the door unlocked. There was a reception counter without a receptionist. Had to call the phone number on the reception counter to collect & return the keys. I don't want to describe how that person looked like ....

The motel reached the basic need for a traveller. But, the motel did't provide the hot water and the small refrigenerator...i think it will make incovenience for some traveller ... i like the air-conditioner, it is cool enough.

I made reservation with Joy Motel via Agoda in Nov 2014 for a 4D3N stay on 6-9 Jun 2015. Reservation was made 6 months in advance for total 9 pax. In March I called Joy Motel to reconfirm my reservation made under Agoda. Contacted Joy Motel again 1 week prior to my travel & she confirmed my reservation. I got a shock when Agoda contacted me 3 days prior to my departure that Joy Motel is unable to honor my reservation as they are fully booked !!! This is unbelievable as I have called personally to confirm my reservation. Leaving me with such short notice and having no option I agreed to change my reservation to another location recommended by Agoda. This is my first trip to Langkawi & I rely heavily on Trip Advisor's recommendation.

Super big cockroach dropped my shoulder while I was asleep on the bed. When I moved the bed, there were tons of cockroaches and bugs. I could not move the room because there were no 24 hours of reception. Chinese community right under the hotel has all night long karaoke which held me from sleeping at night. They sang really loudly literally until 1am. When I wanted to get a refund, the owner of the hotel kept procrastinating and it took few weeks to get money back and of course I had to call him like everyday. The owner of hotel yelled at me even if his hotel got tons of bugs inside. Please do not stay here.

I was there a week. Very clean, nice staff. cool building with a temple attached. No mosquitos. Very cheap. I'd go back if I was in Langkawi. No reason to go to Langkawi tho unless ur in a boat.......

arrived at night. A street side massage looking lady turned out to be the 'receptionist' and gave us a key.Room very small and basic but looked clean.i say looked because o didnt stay, the power cut convinced me to check out after 5 minutes.

The room was small but good enough. The router near our room wasn't working and the WiFi signal was bad. Only one of the staff members spoke English. Pretty decent place to stay of you are looking to minimize your expenses.

I like the staff there. They r vr helpful. Hotel rates r cheap.n room is large and comfortable as well. The only thing is that at night some unconsiderate neighbours talking and laughing out loud outside.their staff would still do housekeeping although you did nt request for it.its like part of d service to keep ur room clean.

After arriving on the early ferry (that's a whole other story) we decided to walk to joy motel. It's not a terrible walk, only about 2km and it was still kinda early. When we arrived, it was hard to find the desk as it's not labled. We thought it was just a Chinese temple. We waited about 15 min until someone finally came down. We were able to check in early at least. There isn't too much to do in this area and the wifi is decent but they advertise tv, with only about 10 channels and none came in clearly. Not too much to write about this place except it's cheaper as far as places go on Langkawi.

Me and my friends had a great time staying here . The shower is hot and powerful. The beds and floor are clean. Lots of parking. Air con room. But you definitely need a car to get around for food and entertainment. Definetely recommend this place if youre on a tight budget.

I stayed this motel for 2 nights with my friends and we were satisfied with this motel. We stayed at the family room which have 2 single beds and 1 double bed.The double bed was big enough to fit 3 adults and the beds were very comfortable. The room was big. Air con worked very well and there was free Wifi in the room. The room was spotlessly clean and the toilet was clean too. There is also a water dispenser at the corner of stairs to refill your bottles. If you are renting a car, you will no need to worry for parking place in Joy Motel. There is provided lots of parking place for you and it charged free.

We arrived at the hotel and there was heaps of people in the lobby celebrating the Chinese New Year, yet none spoke English and none were staff to help us. We waited 45 minutes to get our key, and the girl who gave it to us didn't check our names or anything and didn't speak one word to us, just threw the key at us! All night there was fire works that we could hear directly out of our window. The room pictures are very deceiving as the rooms are tiny. Oh and the power cut out every 15 minutes, so no hot showers or even lights. Horrendous stay so we left first thing in the morning even though we'd paid for 4 nights!

Just shocked at first because can't find the entry to the motel plus its attached with the temple. However i'm pleased because the room and surrounding very clean. Even though the water flow at sink very slow but its still okay since the flow of other water tap is normal. Its also have nice location since we arrive at langkawi international airport, we can go around the sand black beach and visit other interesting place before arrive to the motel..at evening we go to chenang beach and shopping along the road..the next day we cross the middle of the island to makam mahsuri and finally go to airport..So in 1 day we can visit all interesting places and round the whole langkawi island.

i stayed 2 nights in Joy Motel. It is very clean, cheap and well located. Some people will complain about the temple but it does not cause any problem for me. The staffs are friendly especially chooi leng. She helps us in the car renting and tour guide which are much more cheaper than outside. It also includes wifi services and airport transfer without any changes. I will definitely come here again.

The look from the outside might throw you off, but once you enter the room it's just like any hotel. Our room have nice comfy beds & LCD TV. And they provide a water dispenser so you have free flow of drinking cold/hot water! It's a clean & quiet place to stay in. One minor issue was the sink leaked when we stayed, but they fixed it within 24 hours. So other than that the place is great!

Actually it has a nice location but we wont be able to find it on map of waze with the name of Joy Motel. It actually a building of Hokkien Association in Langkawi. Maybe u can find it easily by key in the Hokkien Association. Quite clean for the room and beds. I had booked for five persons with the six persons' room. Enough big for us to walk in room. Big bed, enough big bathroom, and enough space for us to walk here and there. But if really come with many ppl, remember to bring extension for ur chargers, not enough plugs for us. Although not really as elegance as five stars hotel but at least nice and better for budget trip as not so costy.
