Rosemount Inn

We liked the decor, the old house feeling and the history. It's really beautiful inside and outside. We luckily found parking on the premises which was nice. You have to enter or exit backwards because the parking lot is narrow, but we managed. The view is amazing, we were able to see the church's roof which was beautiful. Free water and cookies were provided.

Extremely limited breakfast. We only had some sandwiches available and bread with jam and butter, granola and fruit, and coffee/tea/orange juice/water. The staff was nice and they brought more sandwiches when we asked, but we would have appreciated more vegetables or eggs/cheese/some ham or a wider selection of spreads. Maybe we are used to other kinds of breakfast because other guests seemed pleased.

Lovely boutique hotel 5 minutes from the harbour and close to all restaurants and parks. Lovely staff and a nice breakfast.

They truly offer a gourmet continental breakfast as advertised. Something unusual each morning. Excellent location just a few blocks from the water and far enough away from 'college town' that the incoming student partying was no issue. Greeting and cooking staff were great, eager to talk, provide insight on the city, and just chat in general.

Parking, parking, parking. Only five small spaces forcing a few tenants to park on the street subject to strange parking regulations. Rooms were not thoroughly policed by cleaning staff. We were given fresh towels but dirty glassware removed was not always replaced. Sparkling wine was a nice gesture but I wish it was of a drinkable quality. Lack of a TV was kind of a bummer, especially when the property listing on the site I booked from (Booking.com) listed a TV as an amenity. Tried to offset by booking a play but that was scuttled when we found out the performance we booked was being done at an alternative site when we arrived at the theater.

Pas d équipement dans la chambre comme des prises près du lit ou même une table pour boire un café . La salle du petit déjeuner est vite saturée, la décoration a supplanté le côté pratique dommage...

Der Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft war rundum perfekt, ausgerichtet um sich wohl zu fühlen (inklusiver kleiner Überraschung im Fridge). Großzügig gestaltete Zimmer, perfekt sauber in schöner Umgebung fußläufig zur Innenstadt.

Such a special place, our room was huge and spacious, breakfast was awesome and perfect morning snack to start the day, it felt private, decor was on point. Great location.

Really late check in at 4pm. And wasnt able to check in early.

La casa es preciosa y las habitaciones están decoradas con mucho gusto. Las personas que lo gestionan son muy amables y serviciales.

Usamos la ducha antes de acostarnos y nos despertó rato después goteando; apretamos la alcachofa un poco y pusimos una toalla. Las almohadas son algo altas y duras.

The hotel was beautifully and attentively decorated and cared for. The room was a good size, with comfortable bed, lovely shower with good water pressure, shutters and curtains for privacy, and no television, which I loved. The parlour with the grand piano was so beautiful. The hotel felt luxurious. It felt large but intimate at the same time. If we had stayed longer, I would have loved to enjoy a glass of wine on the gorgeous porch. The whole stay felt very luxurious. Also a great bonus to have free parking. The location was an eat walk to Princess St and to the Queen's campus. I would absolutely stay here again.

The only single complaint I would have is that my dietary restrictions felt like an afterthought. The beauty of the hotel and the assurances I had in person and in writing that the chef had been informed of my (common) restrictions made me think there would be a breakfast option for me beyond just not eating the things I couldn't eat. My husband ate well and loved his breakfast -- and it did look delicious! But I left hungry and bought another breakfast in town after leaving the hotel.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The property is stylishly decorated. The breakfast selection is limited but well prepared and won't leave you hungry.

It would have been helpful to have a reading light near the armchair in my room.

Having our wedding ceremony at the Rosemount, we returned for our 5th anniversary and wow - the welcome was extraordinary. Such a fabulous place - at any time.

It's a lovely villa in a quiet residential area, walking distance from the town center. The garden and free water bottles were very nice. It's beautifully decorated and the living room for guest use is charming.

There were two major issues: the central airconditioning system is very noisy, too cold and drafty. We did not sleep because of it. We asked the staff to switch it off at night but nothing changed, the second night was worse. Secondly, the breakfast was not as nice or fresh as similar places we have been. There's very limited space in the breakfast room and it's difficult to take your breakfast outdoors because of lack of trays, tables and a very heavy front door.

Die Unterkunft hat Charme und eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Personal war freundlich und das kleine Frühstücksangebot hat uns gut gefallen. Besonders praktisch war die Parkmöglichkeit direkt an der Unterkunft. Unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war sauber und ordentlich, aufgrund der Lage jedoch recht dunkel und mit wenig Tageslicht. Der offene Kleiderschrank bot nur sehr begrenzten Stauraum, sodass wir unsere Kleidung auf dem Tisch abgelegt haben. Alles in allem ein guter Aufenthalt und Ausgangspunkt für unsere Unternehmungen.

Tout !!!! Le site est exceptionnel, l’emplacement dans Kingston idéal, le personnel super sympa et compétent. Le chambre était superbe. Le mobilier, la décoration très typique de l’image que veut donner le lieu. On se croirait dans un autre monde à une autre époque. Dépaysement complet.

The Rosemount Inn is a wonderful historic home full of charm , our room was spacious and had its own porch. Check in was easy and the homemade chocolate chip cookies were delicious on arrival. The breakfast was delicious something different both mornings Brendan the chef was so accommodating. Location was perfect walking distance to everything. Can’t wait to visit again.

There was nothing we didn’t like it was all excellent

Room really needed a good cleaning. Dusty and smelled moldy. The showerheads did not work. Instead water squirted straight out of designated holes on the wall. Ended up squirting so hard hitting the back wall and spilled onto the floor ( maybe be why the musty smell). When I called the desk, she could not tell me how to make the water come out of the shower head instead of the side wall. She was sorry about not being able to help, but it ruined my hope for a pleasant stay and taking a shower in the morning. The breakfast was not special either. I’m not usually a complainer, but I was disappointed.

Ontvangst onpersoonlijk. De kamer was stoffig, de douchecabine niet schoon. Bed wordt niet opgemaakt. Wel schone handdoeken gekregen, maar toen wij terugkwamen op de kamer zat er een sleutel aan de buitenkant van onze deur. Waren ze vergeten. Onze spullen lagen dus voor het oprapen. Ontbijt was erg matig.

Le système de clim ne peut pas être controlé ni éteint depuis la chambre . Il y faisait froid (cela a été temporairement fixé pendant quelques heures) . Difficile d’aérer la chambre. Peu de prises disponibles dans la chambre . La bouilloire est dans un placard sans prise accessible. Pas d’étagère ou tablette pour poser ses affaires dans la salle de douche, seulement les rebords du lavabo S’agit-il d’un hotel ? D’un bed and breakfast dont nous n’avons pas rencontré les hôtes ? Si vous choisissez toutefois cet établissement , préférez les chambres avec patio/exterieur surtout pour quelques nuits .

That was the one and only good experience I had at this hotel.

I chose this hotel because of the good reviews, and I was pleased when I saw the beautiful building. However, my pleasant feeling didn't last once I met the owner. She saw me struggling to carry my heavy suitcase up the steps alone and asked, rather perfunctorily, if I needed help — it didn't seem like she truly meant it. That was just a small thing. What was worse, when I carried my luggage to the back of the main building, I was completely put off by the makeshift structure they had there. After some negotiation, she gave me a room on the ground floor of the main building. The room was very dark with a low ceiling — it felt like a basement. She said it was the only one left. I think rooms like this should be clearly indicated on the booking page so guests are informed and can make a choice. Had I known, I would never have booked this room. But with all my luggage, I had no choice but to settle for it. The breakfast was meager compared to any hotel I've stayed at — very few options, and the fruit was far from fresh, with bananas already turning black. It was even worse than the dining hall at the University of Toronto's student residence. I was surprised to see so many good reviews.

Auf den ersten Blick ein schönes Haus mit toller Deko. Empfang war etwas speziell, wir wurden nicht mal nach dem Namen gefragt. Uns wurden die Schlüssel einfach in die Hände gedrückt. Personal beim Frühstück sehr nett.

Zimmer sehr dunkel und nicht ganz so sauber, es lagen viele tote Fliegen rum. Kaminsims sehr staubig. Es gab eine zentrale Klimaanlage, für uns war die viel zu kalt eingestellt. Es war richtig ungemütlich, schade.

Ok. Beautiful old house, but we were taken away to a loft studio apartment opening onto the car park, with no real connection or view of the house. Its small balcony shared with the unit next door opened to a small packed car park, that unless you arrive early may may not be for your car. Inside it had a couple of nice antique furniture pieces, but an old unreliable shower and bathroom, that had no hot water one morning. not good value for money - should be a lot cheaper for what it was.

Also be careful. Check in is from 4pm. We arrived by taxi at 2pm with our bags, and it was completely locked up.

Fantastic home made breakfast by attentive staff. Perfect location - close enough to walk to the downtown but far enough away that you felt like you had retreated from the centre.

Property itself was stunning. A beautiful house on a mature city lot. Walking distance to downtown Kingston.

I really dont like putting out disappointing reviews but my expectations were not met and a bit of effort by the owner could have made this a much better rating. Room was fair but disappointing for the price. Virtually no flat surface to set things down. 1 chair in room and no other place to sit for couples. No vanity in bathroom so no where to set things down. Bathroom was a renovated closet so incredibly small. Furniture in bedroom was poorly appointed. Did not suit tine period of property and could have been purchased at the reuse center. Pictures on website really did not depict reality. Room appeared much larger on website.

Przepiękna zabytkowa willa w stylu toskańskim. Bardzo ładne otoczenie hotelu. Przesympatyczna i profesjonalna obsługa. Doskonały kontakt przed zameldowaniem. Wyjątkowa atmosfera. Bardzo miłym akcentem była buteleczka schłodzonego wina musującego w pokoju.

More homely ambience than a hotel. Use of large lounge with comfy seats, garden and veranda. Excellent location, less than 10 mins walk to town centre and attractions. Staff welcoming and friendly.

Breakfast range was limited BUT what was available was fresh and delicious. Room 7 was dark even with all lights on and window was overlooking a roof. However our en-suite was superb and very light!

We had the same room as two years ago. We paid a premium to get it. Unfortunately the property has not being maintained. In the suite, the shower door does not close and vanity taps move around (not anchored from below). The gardens (which should be spectacular in such a heritage property) are in a state of total neglect. People are damaging their front bumpers backing out of the parking. The vaunted breakfast is a far cry from two years ago.

Un posticino veramente magico in quel di Kingston, la gestione da parte dello staff è stata sublime. Al nostro arrivo c’è stato solo un piccolo problema, ma siamo stati avvisati per tempo e hanno gestito la cosa nel migliore dei modi. La struttura è molto bella, situata all’interno di una casa del 1800. La camera veramente sublime, avevamo un bagno stupendo e da sogno. Nota di merito anche alla colazione

Absolutely stunning place. I booked for one night for my convocation. It was such a perfect chapter to close my days in Kingston. The building is beautiful, decent both from outside and interior. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Chris helped me a lot! I really appreciate that. The buffet is small amazing dining area with beautiful scene.

Realmente me gustó todo. La historia que tiene esa lugar es fascinante.

Super Frühstück in familiärer Atmosphäre. Croissants wurden frisch belegt zubereitet. Leckerer Obstsalat mit frischen Früchten. Die Lage ist sehr gut um zu Fuß ins Ausgehviertel zu kommen. Check-Inn völlig problemlos über pin code, der per SMS zugesendet wurde. Am Abreisetag konnten wir die Koffer in der Unterkunft belassen, um den Tag zu nutzen. Parken an der Unterkunft "first come first serve" aber die Eigentümer haben auch angeboten auf eine Parkplatz in der Nähe zu parken und sie hätten die Kosten übernommen.

This place has so much character the kind of property that feels rooted in history and atmosphere the second you walk in.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It went well beyond the highest expectations. Everything was perfect: delicious and homemade breakfast, beautiful limestone building, cozy atmosphere, extremely kind and supportive staff.
