Right on the beach, close to town and two restaurants within a short walk. We have stayed here several times and very much enjoy the property!!!

I didn’t like the cleaning lady smoking right outside the exit gate when we were packing out . I hate smoking and it was really gross to have clouds of it in my face ! The bathroom in our place smelled of cigarette smoke in the am .

the main light bulb was out, we had to go back to the front to exchange it, then that night, the fire alarm started in the room, at midnight 12am! there was no smoke or anything, the alarm explained if running out of battery, would start alarming. We tried to shut off, but it was inside of the machine, something we could not stop, we thought we stopped it, then went on again, we had to cover with the cushions not to hear the beeping sound, we were so tired, could not sleep well because of that. We complained to the staff in front, but she wasn't really looking into my husband eye and saying that they couldn't do anything, no discount or no offer. Also we realized that it was already paid through the site, but we were told to pay again (they reimbursed later but still ! ) we think staff wasn't really professionally trained.

the oven was so small and no knob for oven. The freezer was leaking into the fridge and didnt keep my food frozen and was so small No paper towel or anything to wash dishes. but they said you had to was the dishes

Location was fantastic, sleeping with the sound of the waves on the shore. Views from our 'patio' of the sea and the mountains was exceptional. Nice lawn to look across. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Bedside USB(C) sockets on one side (highly appreciated) Apart from the sea and birds there was no other noticeable noise.

Seemed a bit tired, clean and all worked but. Was definitely in need of a serious reno, door lock was fiddly, patio door didn't lock, bit of wood hanging down just outside.

Fridge had a lot of ice which was melting/dripping. Oven was missing dial so hard to know temperature and settings. Time to install some air conditioning! Fix up balconies so we get what we paid extra for and fix up retaining wall in courtyard to make a safer!! Also, the stairs make it difficult to access beach with small children and paddle boards. Something wider and not quite so steep.

We had a good stay. Amazingly quiet considering it's right on the highway. Parking is tight if you drive a truck or bigger vehicle. Staff could have been friendlier upon our arrival. All in all a good stay though.

The view was beautiful, the room was clean, beds were comfortable. You could tell that it has been around or in the family for a long time. There are some things that could use some updating on the outside, but they are just cosmetic. It was exactly what we were looking for, directly on the beach, quite visitors, great location. Will definitely be booking again

Nothing we didn't like. Could use A/C but but we were told before arrival that there was none. They did provide a fan which was helpful, and the ocean breeze was great.

The view was amazing. Location was great within walking distance of restaurants and the beach walk. Bed was very comfortable. Flowers and lawns were an improvement since our last visit in the spring. Staff are friendly.

The grounds outside were very messy with broken old wood and dirt. We realize construction was happening but it’s been that way for years. A little cleanup would do wonders. The halls to get to rooms are gross.

Location amazing

We booked a room with kitchen. The kitchen was really bad the oven to say it was dirty is an understatement same for the stove. Whole room I don't think it was cleaned in a while and the bathroom is a different story, hair everywhere mold on the ceiling.... Very expensive for what they offer. The day we left was in the morning and I didn't know I was supposed to leave the key in the mailbox beside the entrance so I ringed the bell and "an employee " I think came from behind me yelling at me to not ring the bell because I would wake up her boss, this happened at 7:45am and they open the office at 8am. I feel we got ripped off for the amount of money we paid. It's sad because the location is amazing, they need some serios renovation everything in that room was old.

The location was fine. The view was lovely. There is a nice grassy area in the middle which was good for the kids to play. The bed was comfortable.

The booking was very unorganized. It was very loud with the highway right next to it. There didn't seem to be any staff anywhere and a lot of bizarre rules posted that I have never seen before. ( $25.00 Fee for not washing dishes, etc.) It didn't feel very welcoming. Also the beach access was a skinny and dangerous looking ladder down to some rocks. Not sure how people are suppose to get to the beach that is right there.

Quietness

You can’t beat the view!! If all you care about is the view- this place is for you! We watched whales from our balcony- it was amazing. Sunset was spectacular. I repeat- if this is all you care about- book the room.

The entire property is in need of some major TLC! For first impressions it fails terribly. Old Broken boards piled up, rusty things scattered here and there, dirty, dark and dingy entry into room. The sliding door was broken and required a workout to get it open, It didn’t lock on a ground floor room. So if safely is a concern keep looking. I was excited to have a kitchen but the pots and pans were so old and dirty we ended up getting food elsewhere!

Deeply Disappointed — Not What Was Advertised We booked a room specifically for the ocean view and balcony, only to discover on check-in that the balcony door was permanently screwed shut and could not be opened. There was no other window or ventilation in the room, and it smelled strongly of stale cigarettes — making it completely uninhabitable. The woman at the front desk was genuinely helpful and tried her best, including attempting to reach the manager, but as it was 7pm no one was available to resolve the issue. No alternative rooms were available, and hotels nearby had significantly higher last-minute prices. We had no choice but to take the ferry back to Vancouver the same evening. What's the point of booking a room advertised with an ocean view and balcony seating if the balcony is permanently inaccessible and the room has no ventilation? This was a frustrating, costly, and deeply disappointing experience. We would not return or recommend this property.

Great deck! Great view! Great location! Great price! The beds were comfy, the room was clean, the bath room was fine.

The staff. Upon arrival I was foolish enough to whip out my debit card to pay initially. I was given a comment on it initially declining in which I profusely apologized ( no reply, but a scowl,) I checked my credit card - the funds were there. But I tapped/paid and it was fine. I checked my statements and no charge went through prior. I could still be wrong, but I felt pressured and shame - and regardless it wasn’t necessary. Upon check out; heavy smoke from Washington rolled through and with my asthma it was so hard for me to speed up my packing process. I asked front desk if I could get an extension, “ best we could do is 15 mins” even after I explained my condition. So in 15 mins I packed up my self and my mother, it was such a rush I got an asthma attack. I wouldn’t blame this one occasion on the establishment as a whole. Maybe the staff just need costumer service education.

The hotel's location was its strongest feature. It is situated right on Qualicum Beach, offering beautiful ocean views and easy access to the beach. It was also conveniently located close to Parksville and other nearby attractions, making it a good base for exploring the area.

Unfortunately, my stay did not meet my expectations. Upon arriving, I found food left behind by a previous guest, including vegetables in the refrigerator and leftover pasta sauce in a pot, which made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. I also noticed faint yellow/brown spots on the shower and walls that further suggested the room could have been cleaned more carefully. The room did not have air conditioning. While I was aware of this before arriving, it still made the room uncomfortable during my stay. The building itself is quite dated, which may not be an issue for everyone, but it was not what I expected based on the listing. As a first-time guest, I also found the check-in experience lacking. I had difficulty finding my room, and no one provided an introduction or orientation to the property. The staff were polite, but they appeared inexperienced, and I would have appreciated clearer directions and a brief overview of the building and amenities. I also noticed that work appeared to be underway on a set of stairs at the back of the property. The stairs seemed unstable, and I did not see any signage or barriers indicating that guests should avoid using them. From a guest safety perspective, I think this should have been more clearly marked while repairs were in progress. One staff member who cleaned the refrigerator mentioned that there might be a discount offered because of the condition of the room upon arrival. However, after I tried contacting the manager and wasn't able to get a hold of them, I was later informed that no discount would be provided. I understand that not every issue warrants compensation, but the inconsistent communication was disappointing. Clearer staff training and more consistent communication regarding how guest concerns are handled would have been appreciated.

The Sand Pebbles looked pretty rough from the outside. However, our room overlooking the ocean was large, well stocked and recently renovated. Great place for a family or group of friends. Had a large lawn where people congregated in the evening to watch the sunset and kids actually played. Really good stay, good location and good price.

Loved the location. The sight did specify that no AC is available and that is the only thing that caused some discomfort but otherwise it was great. During a bit cooler times it would not matter.

It’s not fancy but has everything we want especially ‘on the beach location’ a short distance to the town. Renovations have improved the accommodation since we were there last a few years ago. The small kitchenette has all the small appliances and dishes for 4 people.

The location was right on the water, the tide ebbed and flowed right up to the property. The balcony overlooking the back yard and ocean was spectacular. The steps down to the beach was amazing access. It was clear that the room was recently renovated, and the beds and lines were very comfortable. It was walking distance to restaurants, a 15 -20 min hike up the hill to the main town and weekend market and when the tide was out you could walk for miles.

The stairs to the second floor in the middle building were rotting - be careful! There was only one small coffee available and no coffee shop easily nearby The TV was a bit small The bathroom ceiling in our room looked to have black mold - it should be addressed!

The location near the ocean and beach was great , except it is RIGHT ON a very busy road (highway).

I'm not Mr. Fussy, but I thought the place was a dump. I recall seeing construction debris (boards and rusty nails) on both sides of our room. However, the ladies on reception were both GREAT!

Very dated and in state of disrepair in places. Room could have been cleaner. No contact with staff at all and it was a hands off check out. No kettle, no safe, microwave with no dishes.

The location is great. Right by the seaside and close to all amenities.very peaceful and family friendly.

It would be nice if guests could BBQ onsite. Check to make sure all kiitchen units have all appliances needed for cooking etc. Maybe a check list.to update for staff.

Diese Unterkunft ist sehr veraltet und auf dem Stand der 60er Jahre stehen geblieben. Die Geräte aus der offenen Küche brummten laut, es ist unmöglich dort in Ruhe zu schlafen. Auch die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Für 4 Personen absolut ungeeignet, da die Ausziehcoaches alle zu klein waren, trotz verschiedener Zimmertypen.

Beautiful oceanfront location! The view doesn’t get better! Our room was very clean, recently updated with all new furnishings and a very comfortable bed. Great value and centrally located to everything. Easy parking. Will definitely come back and stay here again!

Kitchen needs to be work on, it works but very rusty and old. If you looking for a place to cook often, then here is def not your favourite place would be. Also the detergent for for the dish washer and sponge that they offer you is... You never experienced before...but they might give you a new one.

Loved the location. Qualicum Beach is a very cute town. Wish we had more time to spend there and check things out.

The beach was rather rocky. Fun to walk along and collect rocks but not a traditional beach to sit on.

Oh my god this location alone is worth the money. It is literally right on the beach - you can eat dinner listening to the waves outside. What more could you want?! The room was good although we barely spent any time in it! The kitchen was good enough and everything was clean

It's not a high end place but you aren't paying for high end. I would come back!

We booked a superior king with the kitchen for a couple and a superior double with two doubles with a kitchenette for our 3 adult children. When we checked in the room we booked with 2 doubles had only one king and no kitchenette. Thankfully we checked in shortly before the office closed and they found a room with two doubles but no kitchen but there was no reduction in price for a down graded room. The rooms had no air conditioning and only one room had a fan and the weekend was hot. The king bed room was not fully cleaned. The kitchen was dirty, in the morning when we pulled out the coffee machine, there was a used coffee pod in the machine. There were no dish cloths for washing up even though we were required to clean up our used dishes as per the contract. The bathroom floor was not swept when we got there.

Good value and great location. The kitchenette in the room had everything needed. Qualicum is a small, quiet place with no fast-food options, so having a kitchenette for early risers was especially convenient. Nicely renovated bathroom. Geneerous size room. Convenient parking. The bed was comfortable. Great sunset. Steps away from the beach. Sitting on the patio was fantastic. Would stay there again for all those reasons.

The bottom cupboard in the kitchenette is old and dirty. The closet door was off its hinges, and the baseboard was dirty. Broken patio furniture, the grounds and landscaping are pretty, but neglected. A small bedside table on the other side of the bed would have been nice. Looks like they are gradually doing renovations and improvements, as the bathroom was new and the TV area was also new with a microwave and cupboards. Overall, the property needs TLC, but it did not affect our stay. You can't beat the location, convenience, and value. Another thing we were facing west, maybe best to ask for the east side of the building in mid-summer, as there is no AC, but they do have fans.

The outside was rough. The stairs and porch heading up to our room was quite rickety it looks very worn on the outside but once in the room it was quite bright and modern. though the place could use a deep clean. Bathroom had a huge cobweb under the vanity, shower could use a good scrub.

The drapes didn’t pull across the deck door completely and the blinds were broken. Outside, work was being done, and concrete was splashed on the windows. Ugly wire fencing blocked views and boards were laid across the ground in front of our deck. I’m hoping some of this is temporary. A second garbage can would be helpful and somewhere to hang towels up in the bathroom.

Excellent location. You can enjoy the view (the bay, islands across) literally through your room window or while sitting on a patio, in the courtyard. The rooms are recently renovated, all the furnishings are in excellent condition. Staff are courteous and friendly.

The managers large pit bull in the garden area was intimidating and the party in the managers suite directly below us well into the morning hours was unacceptable.

This hotel seems to be under construction?? Not well taken care of. The website says no pets but the courtyard had a fenced area for dogs. Some wiring in the room looked a bit shotty and we found silverfish on our last day. Says room comes with a "kitchenette"...
