Très bon séjour à l'hôtel Dar Ya, l'hôtel est confortable, très beau, la terrasse est un vrai plus. Et le personnel est super gentil et accueillant !

Great location not too far from roads, which means you dont have to travel so far to catch a taxi. The concierge were friendly and helpful and even helped us order a car on the application. There is a kitchen on the roof with some pots, a refrigerator and cutlery. Internet works well mainly in the lobby. Quiet and comfortable. Breakfast had some variety each day and consisted of veg, fruit, pastries and hard boiled eggs. There is a nice cat and kittens to greet you outside the main door.

No towels provided, but yoy can buy one at the lobby. Some dish soap in the kitchen would be good.

Très bel hôtel et très bon accueil et accompagnement tout au long du séjour. Le rooftop est un plus. Le petit-déjeuner est simple mais très correct.

Location was great. And front desk staff was nice when we came in at night. Ok pricing for hostel. If I could go back, I would have spent more money on something nicer.

Kitchen staff was a little rude, and smoking in the kitchen area. My room had a gas smell.

Je suis très déçue de devoir évaluer cet hôtel négativement, car il était très sympathique au premier abord. Le personnel était agréable et disposé à nous donner des conseils pour visiter la ville. Malheureusement, nous avons découvert le dernier jour que notre chambre était infestée de punaises de lit. Le personnel de l'hôtel nous a changé de chambre pour cette dernière nuit (c'est bien le minimum...) mais n'a pas accepté de nous rembourser notre séjour intégralement (ils ont remboursé moins de la moitié de notre séjour et nous avons énormément dû insister pour obtenir cela, leur argument étant que "les deux premières nuits ce sont bien passées", comme si les punaises n'étaient pas déjà là...) Cela peut arriver à tout établissement mais je suis persuadée qu'ils savaient très bien que la chambre était infestée car il y avait une odeur de produit chimique très forte lorsque nous sommes arrivées dans la chambre le premier jour, et les deux jours suivants la lumière de notre chambre était allumée quand nous sommes rentrées le soir alors que les lits n'étaient pas fait (ils allumaient en fait sûrement car ils savent que les punaises sortent dans le noir). Nous sommes rentrées chez nous avec la nécessité de mettre toutes nos affaires au congélateur et à la machine à 60 degrés. J'ai été tellement piquée que ma peau a fait une réaction allergique qui m'a obligée à aller chez le médecin pour prendre des antihistaminiques... Mes mains ont doublé de volume suite aux piqures (cf. photos) et des boutons sont encore en train d'apparaître chez mes amies car ils peuvent mettre 14 jours à sortir. Je déconseille vivement un établissement qui, s'il avait été rigoureux, aurait clairement dû fermer ses portes le temps de traiter l'infestation.

Super convenient location - right in the middle of the Tunis Medina. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, such as offering airport transport at a small fee, giving us advice on where to travel in the city, and they also went as far as preparing us a to-go breakfast at 4am as we had to leave super early. The place is pretty much a hostel so expect a hostel level of comfort, but it is so full of character and charm that it is worth it.

My only gripe is that it got a bit toasty at night. The AC wasn't able to be turned on and, for some reason, someone had left the radiator on and we didn't realise until the room was boiling.

a great place for your first stay in Tunis as teh staff is very helpful and they have 24 hours reception. very big rooms, well decorated. a stunning building and a great courtyard for breakfast. loved it all.

Great staff, good location

Beautiful original building, decent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. We were lucky to get a room with its own wc and shower. The location in the medina is great, easy to find with google maps. No issue with hot water (as i was reading in other comments).

Wifi connection in the room is quite poor, but they make it very clear in the confirmation emails/messages you receive after booking.

Fuimos en grupo, estuvimos muy agusto en este alojamiento. Tiene habitaciones amplias y bien decoradas. El ambiente es muy bueno. Está en la medina, a un paso de tiendas y bares donde tomar té. El desayuno está bien, perfecto para comenzar el día. El personal fue muy amable durante la estancia y después nos han ayudado en un tema personal, por lo que estamos muy agradecidos. Recomendamos este alojamiento 100%.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who made our stay truly special, especially during Ramadan. The hotel is very clean and perfectly located in the heart of the Medina. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and caring. A special thank you to Omar, Ridha, and Youssef, as well as the wonderful ladies Layla, Radya, and Edgerine (I hope I spelled your names correctly!). Each of you helped make our stay unique and memorable. The transport to see the attractions with Ridha was fantastic, and the airport transfers with Youssef were smooth and comfortable. Omar – you made my husband a happy man! Thank you for the lovely evening. My husband also left a small gift for you. And of course… keep the music going! 🎵 Thank you all again for such a wonderful experience.

Staff sempre presente e molto cordiale, posto pulito e dalla collocazione perfetta per approfittare delle bellezza e dell'autenticità della medina. Perfetto per Solo travellers .

Ho trovato le docce al piano inferiore fredde ma sono andata a quelle del piano superiore. Questa è una soluzione a budget estremamente conveniente ed il rapporto qualità-prezzo è eccellente : sapendo che i bagni sono condivisi e che ne sono tanti al piano inferiore come superiore non trovo negatività.

We were very well welcomed at Dar Ya. Everything was clean and the hosts were there to help with any of our questions. We enjoyed every part of our stay from breakfast to rooftop.

Il personale era molto simpatico e disponibile, la posizione era buona, il locale, tradizionale, è bello (anche se le luminose foto presenti sul sito non trovano pieno riscontro nella realtà).

Purtroppo DAR YA era infestato dalle cimici dei letti. Abbiamo dovuto abbandonarlo, cercando una soluzione alternativa all'ultimo minuto, in quanto molti della comitiva ne sono stati assaliti

The breakfast was a bit too basic for that price It would have been nice, if the clerk at the reception spoke English or even a little better French (without my little Arabic, we would have been lost).

The room was not hygienic or clean to usual hotel standards. I ended up with mosquito/insect bites. Also the location is in the heart of madina only good for backpackers as you can't walk to it with big suitcases or taxi park in front of it

Ma famille et moi avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à Dar Ya. L'endroit est beau, très bien situé, très pratique et très propre. Khaled et son équipe ont été très aidants, notamment pour nous attribuer des chambres correspondant aux besoins des différents membres de la famille. Omar, Redha et Youssef nous ont également été d'une grande aide pour visiter la région de Tunis (location d'une voiture pour 7 personnes, transport tôt le matin vers l'aéroport, etc.). Le lieu est calme et agréable et le petit-déjeuner est super !

Ho soggiornaro qui per due notti, è una vera casa tipica. Lo staff è accogliente e molto gentile. Nonostante non abbiano una cucina la colazione ha ampia scelta, sia dolce che salato. La posizione è perfetta perché già dentro la Medina.

Beautiful, clean, well decorated and all the staff are super welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is also amazing! To most travellers I would happily recommend this Dar.

If you are a solo female traveller, unfortunately I do not recommend this hotel. It’s located further in the Tunis Medina, I did not feel safe walking back alone at night. You have to walk 10 minutes to get out of the Medina to find a taxi.

Le personnel était très accueillant, le petit dej était top, la chambre était super. Hôtel bien situé.

Il manquait peut être des petits chaussons pour ne pas avoir froid aux pieds en sortant de la douche sinon c’était parfait

Excellent séjour, je n'ai passé qu'une nuit mais tout était très bien, accueil super tout le monde est hyper sympathique et arrangeant. Mention spéciale à Omar qui m'a hyper bien accueillie et répondu à mes nombreuses questions. Chambre confortable, grande pr une personne, il faisait froid et le radiateur a vite bien tout réchauffé, propre... Bon petit déjeuner varié (manque juste peut être eau ou jus d'orange pour des personnes ne buvant pas chaud). Terrasse super agréable (il pleuvait donc j'en ai juste profité 5 mins), très bien situé proche à pied de tout si on n'a pas de problèmes pour marcher. Si je reviens à Tunis je choisirai sans hésiter de revenir à dar ya

Chambre un peu sombre mais c'est le prix à payer pour une chambre authentique dans un dar et en soi c'est plus une question d'habitude. Connexion internet dans la chambre était vraiment mauvaise dans le lit mais ok près de la porte entrée. Il marchait très bien dans salon principal par contre

Beautiful hotel in good location on the edge of the Medina. Our room was big and clean. Breakfast was basic, but totally fine (coffee, bread, butter, jam, fruits). Staff was amazing. Big thanks to Youssef and Omar, especially for recommending Restaurant Erriadh, it was amazing (very local, very tasty, very cheap). There’s a great local barber shop a few meters away on „the main alleyway“, if you need a shave :D

Le patio typique d'un Dar et les couleurs qui raviront vos iris. Le personnel est aux petits soins et toujours avec le sourire.

Les événements sociaux deux nuits sur trois dans le bâtiment d'à côté et sur le toit de l'hôtel. Heureusement cela s'arrête à 23h (mais jusque là, le son était très fort) et léger bémol sur la résonance du patio qui réveille le matin dès que les premiers voyageurs prennent leur petit dejeuner. Et attention les salles de bain et toilettes sont bien communes mais très propres

ドミトリーのようにシングルベッドが並ぶ客室なので、カップルでダブルベッドというロマンチックな雰囲気ではない。 空港側からだとメディナの奥側になり、フランス門からであればずっと上り坂でかなり遠いこと。一人、二人の場合も基本的には同じスタイルの部屋だと思う。

L'accès impossible en voiture. Une odeur de peinture dans la chambre. Mes parents n'ont pas osé demander une autre chambre. Déçu pour eux. Toilette et douche a l'extérieur des chambres et communes. Petit déjeuner convenable.

Good value for money. Location is lovely, a quiet street close to the souks. Rooms were spacious, breakfast simple but nourishing. Most importantly, staff was wonderfully kind and helpful. Felt safe here as a solo female traveller and saw various other women staying here alone.

Don’t forget to bring your own towels. They are not provided.

Emplacement à 2 min à pieds de l'entrée des souks. Petite impasse au calme. Des petites épiceries pour acheter à boire ou à manger juste à côté et ouverte jusque très tard. Le personnel est adorable, disponible h24 pour répondre à vos questions. Douche et toilettes communes mais propres et suffisantes en nombre pour pouvoir se doucher sans attendre.

I absolutely adored my stay at Dar Ya, the perfect place for my first visit to Tunisia . Youssef, Ridha and the lovely old man who also worked at the front desk were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful, and really went out of their way to make me feel at home. I would come back for sure 100% In terms of facilities, it is also well equipped, well located and the included breakfast is a great way to start the day!

Bon emplacement dans la Médina. Une station de taxi se trouve à 5mn de marche et il y a des stands de street food proches. Terrasse très agréable.

Notre chambre était très petite et sans fenêtre. Literie très inconfortable pour les lits adultes. Et le lit bébé mis à notre disposition ne comportait carrément pas de matelas ! Aucune insonorisation.

Nice place right in the medina with really pleasant people working there and clean rooms and sanitary areas.Would definetely recommend to stay here especially in small groups. Also a really nice terrace ln the roof.

Wifi Connection is not really good in the rooms. One morning some trekking bike riders started assembling their gear in the inner area of the hotel even before 6am. It was really loud and impossible to sleep anymore. While this is not directly the hotels fault I would have liked the stuff to at least ask them to be quiet or wait until a more decent time....

Il faut traverser le patio pour accéder à la salle de bain commune (ultra propre au demeurant) mais le tarif est imbattable!

L’hôtel Dal Ya offre un mélange authentique de tradition et de culture tunisienne. Vous y serez logé comme chez l’habitant, une expérience chaleureuse qui change des hôtels aseptisés.

Amazing Dar in the middle of the medina. Our favorite was indeed the staff (always so nice and friendly) and the breakfast. We felt immediately safe and at home. You need to request the towels in the reception and they are of course free (we saw comments saying otherwise). Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable!

Bed is not very comfortable but not terrible, I think it just depends on your taste of mattress.

Charming hostel right in the medina of Tunis. Super friendly staff. Features beautiful traditional decor. Cleaned very well. Nice roof terrace. I was travelling with my kids & having stayed in hotels for the rest of our trip, this place reminded me why I love the hostel atmosphere so much.

It’s a slightly high price point for the level of the facilities - we were happy with what it had to offer but it’d be rightly priced if it was slightly cheaper.

Lovely stay in the medina, very close to the main street where you can take taxi to move around. Youssef was great host and very helpful. Thank you, see you next time.
