Good hotel in Sorrento. There was a bus stop right outside the hotel which we used everyday to get to the main town. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. The swimming pool is small but there was not many people in the hotel during our stay so we were able to use it all day.

The hotel was clean and the location was good, it is about a 15 minute walk to the centre. The rooftop area is lovely and peaceful and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The walls are extremely thin which made it very difficult to sleep, the breakfast was also very average with not a lot of options and also finished at 9:30am which we personally found very early. While the rooftop area is lovely, a swimming pool would be a bonus as the hot tub was warm and could not cool us down from the heat.

Man kann nicht wirklich sicher an der schmalen Straße entlang zum Ort oder zum Strand gehen und muss ständig den Bus nehmen.

The staff were incredible! They assisted us with all questions and were extremely welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself was perfect, and a great stroll to the main village with incredible scenery.

El lugar esta muy bien ubicado, a 5min en bus del centro de Sorrento. La parada del bus está en la puerta del hotel, de manera que puedes tomarlo parada ir a la playa o al centro. Tiene una terraza con un jacuzzi y una hermosa vista de la playa. Las habitaciones son cómodas y grandes. El café delndesayuno muy bueno. La atención de todo el personal fue muy proactiva y amable, especialmente Andrea que nos recibió el primer día. Muy recomendable!

This is hands down one of the best properties in Sorrento. Its not in the city center but theres a bus stop just outside the hotel and while gps will say it takes 10mins to get to the city center it actually is closer to a four minute ride. Also if you want to book some excursions to nearby Islands they come and pick you up from the hotel and drop you back off. Also we love the rooftop. They have a small Jacuzzi, which more serves as a pool and lounge chairs. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the whole entire stay, would stay here in the future. Hotel looks exactly like the pictures.

Big room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Good A/C kept us cool. Cold mini fridge. Nice rooftop area to relax and have a dip in plunge pool. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. It’s a 20min walk to the city but there is a bus stop right out front of the building.

No tea/coffee facilities in the room. Had to ask for fresh towels daily.

The perfect location for us - outside of the busy centre but only 1k to walk with the option to catch a bus with the stop outside the front door. Sorrento was magnificent, the hotel was faultless, it was clean, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful The lady preparing the breakfast was an absolute delight I recommend staying here and would love to have the chance to return someday The restaurant 200m up the road is well worth the short walk - try the fish of the day cooked in the pizza oven

The ‘pool’ photos are slightly deceiving as there is no pool, only a small jacuzzi. Advertised a gym included in the hotel but you have to pay 10 euros, per hour per person!!

Terrific location , spacious room with sea view and balcony that caught the afternoon sun . Basic bathroom with shower in bath that was absolutely fine. Lovely welcoming and relaxed atmosphere . Every member of staff from housekeeping to kitchen to front of house to hotel manager couldnt have been any more gracious and helpful . Hotel was absolutely spotless . Lovely outdoor seating area and sun terrace. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and varied, great coffee .Booking transport and excursions was seamless.

It wasn't mentioned that gym is paid. 1 hour is 10 euros. Also pool was open from 8:00 till 19.00

Our group had an excellent stay at this small hotel in Sorrento, and everything about it felt genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always there when we needed it, without ever being intrusive. The hotel’s location is also a major highlight. It’s perfectly positioned for exploring Sorrento easily, while still feeling calm and comfortable when you return after a day out. Not to mention, the super cute terrace they have, great to enjoy a drink with friends, family or just your loved one. A special thank-you goes to Senora Carmela, Francesca, and Andrea for their kindness and outstanding support—along with Giuseppe and Stefano, who also made our stay so much better. Their care, attention to details, and professionalism truly made a difference for our group. Overall, we left feeling very grateful and truly impressed. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Britannia, the staff were very friendly and helpful with booking tours and transfers as well as recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The location was great with the bus stop out the front or a short walk into town. Rooms and amenities were great and clean.

Que no se repusiera el jabón de la ducha diariamente. Había un par de sobres de gel de ducha el primer día y el resto de días (5 noches) hubo que bajar a recepción cada uno de ellos para solicitar jabón. El horario de la piscina de la terraza es muy limitado, siendo verano, qué menos que hasta las 21.00. Pero entiendo que también pueda tener que ver con las leyes italianas y no con el hotel en sí.

An outstanding hotel in every respect . The staff are amazing , receptionists , room attendants , breakfast staff and the guys in charge . Everyone is friendly , helpful, efficient and have a terrific knowledge of the area . The room was exceptionally clean. comfortable, modern with all facilities for a perfect holiday . The rooftop with jacuzzi , sunbeds and shaded sofas was so inviting and very clean There were terrific views of Vesuvius , Naples and some islands not only from the rooftop but also from our room . The sunsets were amazing . The Breakfast was composed of fresh fruit , cereals , croissants and plenty of beverages. Stephano Andrea and Guissepi are excellent managers and Josephine and Caramelo are superb too . Thank you to all the staff I cant wait to return

We recently returned from a 10 day trip to Sorrento and stayed at this hotel. The views across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius were amazing and the experience of sitting in the rooftop plunge pool, looking out at that view will always be a fantastic memory. The hotel was clean and comfortable with pleasant gardens and a superb rooftop terrace. The owner Stefano and his son Guiseppe were kind, attentive, friendly and helpful. The reception desk staff were also a credit to the management . Michela, Andrea and Tonino were all so friendly and helpful, passing on helpful advice regarding our stay, helping to make our holiday. The iced coffees were delicious and we can highly recommend them. The breakfast area was clean and well run by some lovely helpful ladies, in particular Carmela and Pina who kept everything running shipshape. The breakfasts were fresh, and varied. The same ladies cleaned the rooms, which they did efficiently. We had a great holiday and were made to feel so welcome at this lovely family run hotel. Thank you.

My daughter and I stayed here at the start of July and loved it! What makes this hotel great are the staff, they are all so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much for them. A big thank you to Giuseppe for the recommendations and advice about where to go, we cannot make a decision between us! Bus stop right outside or a 15 minute stroll in to the centre of Sorrento. You might want to catch the bus back though as it’s all uphill! The rooftop terrace and jacuzzi pool are a fantastic place to relax and take in the views of the surrounding area and Mount Vesuvius. The hotel is spotlessly clean and there is a good choice for breakfast, although I’m not a big breakfast eater, so the fruit and croissants were enough for me. It’s a great base for exploring and ask about the trip to Capri, it was great fun in the ferry! Thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who want to visit Sorrento!

The beds were quite hard. The fact that you had to walk on the busy road to get into Sorrento was quite scary at times. We didn’t chance it at night and always got a cab back.

Distance to restaurants and shopping

I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Hotel Britannia! Not only was the property beautiful and the rooms were very generously sized, and was exceptionally clean. Great location, and very easy to navigate the beautiful area. But the concierge and staff at the hotel were by far one of the best parts of our trip. So welcoming and always trying to go above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and had the best possible time! An extra special thank you to Giuseppe and the entire staff during our stay!!!

The staff could not have been more helpful. There is a shuttle bus that picks you up right in front every half hour or so to get downtown. Walking to the main center is easy and takes about 15 minutes. Crossing the street is a bit sketchy as traffic comes fast and there’s no sidewalk for the first quarter of a mile.

The rooms are small for three people and the bathroom very tight. Towels are very flimsy. However, for the cost, it is a great value. It’s very quiet at night and the air-conditioning works great.

We returned for the second time, stayed 10 days 2 years ago, this time stayed 2 weeks as we love it here so much! The owner Stefano and his son Guiseppe are two of the nicest people you could meet, nothing is too much trouble and we were welcomed like old friends, so lovely! Also the reception staff Andrea, Michela and Tonino are wonderful and so helpful. The kitchen staff also wonderful, I miss everyone already so much! The hotel is spotlessly clean, lovely rooms, loved the jacuzzi pool on the gorgeous roof terrace, which overlooks the sea and Mount Vesuvius. We were very lucky both times to have a room with a beautiful private terrace and balcony. Really made the holiday. We loved our walks down to the town, wonderful sea views on the way, about 10-15 minute walk. There is also a bus that stops at the hotel, we got that a couple of times when tired after a day out. The hotel also arranges fab trips that you can book through them. This was an extra special holiday for us as I was very ill last year and didn’t dream I would have a holiday again so as soon as I had the all clear we booked to stay at Hotel Britannia straight away! We never go on holiday to the same place again but we really wanted to come back to this wonderful place and make memories once again…. Hope to see you all again one day!

We had a wonderful stay for our honeymoon! A short 10 minute walk into the town centre with a gorgeous view of sorrento, there is also a bus stop outside the front door and taxis available within 5 minutes. The staff were all so kind and helpful, giving recommendations and happy to help with any request or questions we had. Rooms were clean and spacious and the view from the rooftop was just beautiful! Would highly recommend!

Recently returned from a lovely week at this hotel. A good position about 15 mins walk into town. This is via a main road which for a short way has no pavement. Safest way is to walk facing the oncoming traffic and they seem to be used to pedestrians in the road. Once in the town great restaurants, bars and shops. The staff at this hotel are so helpful, especially all on reception. The 2 lovely ladies at breakfast looked after us well with great cappuccino. Room was good, clean and everything we needed. Shower small but worked well. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks from the bar sitting on the pretty terrace under the lemon trees. The 5th floor accommodates a sun terrace and jacuzzi. There is actually enough space for a pool which would be a welcime bonus. We had an enjoyable stay, only down side was the busy road and traffic which is nothing to do with hotel. Inside our room we could not hear the traffic and we slept really well in a very comfy bed.

​A huge downside is the lack of Wi-Fi in the room (Room #30 - next to the reception). Despite our complaints, they tried to convince us that the signal was strong, but it was only available at the reception. ​It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the city center, the beach, and 30 min the ferry terminal along a high-speed road. ​There is a sea view, but there is also road noise, both day and night. The room is simple but clean

We had a great stay highlighted by the friendly services of all staff including, Giuseppe and Stefano. The atmosphere and decor are reminiscent of a traditional Italian home with the colourful ceramics. Very clean and staff were always trying to make our stay better. Good gym!!! We will definitely return.

Die Lage ist top! Bushaltestelle vor der Tür, wenn man die stark befahrene Küstenstraße nicht zu Fuß gehen möchte. Das Hotel sieht schön aus und hat einen Jacuzzi am Dach. Parkplatz fürs Auto auf Anfrage vor der Haustüre. Sehr nettes Personal, hilfsbereit und eine Hotelbar gibt es auch! Es ist auch sehr sauber.

Die Zimmer sind von der Einrichtung schon sehr alt und auch das Bad erinnert an die 70er Jahre. Das macht den Komfort nicht ganz so wie wir es anderswo oft gewöhnt sind. Im Vergleich zum Preis vor allem! Die Balkone zur Rückseite raus sind auch zu lieblos hergerichtet. Vorne sieht es dafür schon ganz anders aus. Das Wasser vom Jacuzzi war gebrochen und da sollte man mehr dahinter sein. War ja auch noch Vorsaison. Das Frühstück ist gut aber da geht noch deutlich mehr! Weiche/Harte Eier waren zum Beispiel kalt. Auswahl einfach aber ok!

The online pictures seemed to suggest there was a pool, but there was no pool. Only a hot tub. The breakfast was lacking. And there was no sidewalk the last one hundred yards walking to the hotel from town. Felt dangerous.

Besonders positiv war für uns die Möglichkeit, unseren Mietwagen direkt vor dem Hotel zu parken, ein Komfort, der in Italien keineswegs selbstverständlich ist. Ein echtes Highlight war die Dachterrasse im obersten Stockwerk. Dort standen zahlreiche Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten sowie ein Whirlpool mit angenehmer Wassertemperatur zur Verfügung. Der atemberaubende Ausblick auf das Meer und den Vesuv machten diesen Ort zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Der Service war während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir wurden jederzeit herzlich empfangen und bestens betreut. Auch die Lage des Hotels hat uns überzeugt: Die Innenstadt war bequem in etwa 10 bis 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, sodass wir die Umgebung problemlos erkunden konnten.

Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, die Auswahl fiel überschaubar aus.

The staff here was so sweet and accommodating! They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Much of the breakfast spread is homemade with care, and the cappuccinos are excellent!

The only downside of this hotel is that it just a bit beyond the part of the busy main road that has a sidewalk. So, to walk to and from town, you have to walk a bit on the nonexistent shoulder with buses and motorcycles whizzing by about 4 inches from you 😅 So, just an FYI. But also, there is a bus that stops right outside the hotel you can wait for instead of walking!

We had to cancel our stay on the day of arrival due to unexpected medical reasons. Despite the very short notice, the hotel was extremely understanding and helpful. They responded to our emails very quickly and handled everything professionally. We were especially grateful that they agreed to refund 50% of the accommodation cost, which we truly appreciated during a difficult time. The staff were kind, compassionate, and very supportive throughout the process. Excellent customer service and communication. We would like to thank the hotel again for their understanding and generosity, and we hope to visit in the future. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic stay and the staff were the highlight. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always happy to provide recommendations and travel advice. A special shout-out to Giuseppe, who went above and beyond when a landslide in Positano affected our next accommodation. He helped organise an extension of our stay, secured us a great rate, and upgraded us to a sea-view room, taking all the stress out of the situation. The hotel has a beautiful garden, a lovely rooftop area with amazing views, great drinks, and a delicious complimentary breakfast. The location is also excellent – around a 10-minute walk into town, with a bus stop right outside for easy access. Overall, exceptional service, great facilities, and staff who genuinely care about their guests. We would happily stay here again.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable, le personnel à la réception était à l’écoute, toujours souriant et de bons conseils. La réception est ouverte 24h/24, c’est un plus car nous pouvions réserver des excursions ou poser des questions à toutes heures, et ce monsieur est une gentillesse et d’un calme. Nous tenons à remercier particulièrement Giuseppe pour sa patience, les bons conseils et les endroits à visiter. La situation de l’hôtel est parfaite, à seulement 15-20 min à pied du centre, nous avions la vue jardin, chambre au calme. La vue du Rooftop est incroyable et apaisante. The pool area closed way too early

The property was clean, room spacious, AC worked great and staff were terrific. It is on the outskirts of town so it is about a 20min walk to the town centre but provides stunning views along the way. I thought it had a pool by the picture but it is a Jaccuzi however we didn’t spend time hanging out at the hotel and the view from the terrace is great. The view from room balcony is of Mnt Vesuvius and the bay of Naples but it is an “angled” line of site. Still a great spot to sip a drink from the bar on-site open 24/7. staff was very helpful with anything you asked. Family run hotel and residence of sorrento. Great value, I’d go back for sure.

Ho avuto moltissime problematiche durante il soggiorno date dal fatto che non abbiamo prenotato niente in anticipo e i ragazzi sono stati in grado di propormi svariate alternative senza farmi scoraggiare e dandomi tutta l'assistenza di cui avevo bisogno.

A lovely small and personal hotel. The location is great, yes there is a walk into Town and back up the hill but that didn't bother us. There is a bus stop right outside the door if you prefer. The hotel is very clean throughout. The rooms are comfortable, the bed is also comfortable. Storage space is a little limited but adequate. The roof terrace is a lovely space to spend a couple of hours after a long day and the hot tub is great. What really makes this hotel is the staff. From reception to breakfast the staff are friendly and helpful and lovely people we have never found better staff anywhere. My husband is gluten intolerant and the breakfast staff were knowledgeable and looked after him very well. We couldn't praise them highly enough and for that alone I give 5 stars. Highly recommended

The shower water pressure was poor and the shower was rather small. It is a walk out of town, but it’s worth it for the views (and there is a bus).

The location was good and it has beautiful outside areas to sit and relax.

The rooms need more attention to detail, like more pillows for the beds and upgrading.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Gave great recommendations and were very personable.

Toiletries could have been a little better.

Views, common areas, breakfast room, lobby all impeccable. Rooms very comfortable. Safe. Staff and hosts are all very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to connect with daily. Exceptional.

Right in front of bus stop which is a positive or negative depending on how you view this. Not a property issue. Would love a small lap pool for swimming but ocean is nearby 12 min walk. Very good property.

The staff were exceptional, best customer service we have ever received in a hotel, advised us where to go and how to get there, offering help when one of our family had a health issue.

The only issue with the location is there is no footpath along a very busy road partway to the hotel to the town but there is a bus service right outside the hotel which runs every 20 minutes.

From the beginning to the end staff are so welcoming and kind. I unfortunately was injured while on a day trip and staff were very helpful with giving me ice throughout the rest of the stay and were there whenever i needed anything. The owners went above and beyond which i am so grateful for! Every worker there was very helpful, service was amazing and efficient. The rooms were very clean and the views are amazing. The jacuzzi and top level is beautiful with a pretty look out that i was dying to see everyday! The bottom outdoor seating area was gorgeous with multiple seats and of course a beautiful view especially at sunset with different flowers, lemon trees and trees. Very nice scenery for a night time/day time drink which is next to the 24/7 bar which comes in handy. The breakfast which is included was very delicious with a large selection of foods and drinks to chose, the dining area staff were very attentative and were there to get anything else that was needed and were very nice. I would love to go back, and i would in a heartbeat. I definitely recommend this place, the workers made us feel right at home, the hotel is a walkable distance from town which was very helpful, and the hotel itself has everything you could need.

The staff were all amazing !! Friendly, helpful and welcoming. The facilities were very clean and very comfortable. The rooftop and garden were great places to catch some sun and relax. The bus stop at the front door which came every 30 minutes was very convenient. Breakfast had a great variety and lovely service. The lift was handy! Highly recommend!
