La Jolie Motomachi

Friendly staff, clean, room size

The bed is a little firm for westerners

Location good and bad if u like quiet town but its near Red Brick red house and Ropeway to Mt Hakodate within walking distance of 10mins

The toilet in the room was elevated and I injured myself after tripped

Spacious and good location

Toilet paper was very thin

Struttura accogliente, camere silenziose e grandi!!! Personale gentile.

We stayed on the top floor and wow! Spacious, comfy, and a perfect place to relax. Incredible view as well. We stayed for two nights and unfortunately the weather was pretty poor. It rained the whole time and was super windy so we didn’t get to take the ropeway, which was the whole reason we chose this location. I’m glad we did though, because it was a great part of the city to stay in. The staff were so kind and accommodating. It felt like a special experience. The room was so large I felt like we had an entire house to ourselves. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever lucky enough to return.

Really hard to find things to dislike about this place. Everything is a little dated, but it has character.

Big, comfortable room with a great high-floor view onto the ropeway station, excellent AC. Staff was genuinely helpful, especially for the self-check-in process—very kind throughout. On-site laundry worked well, no issues. Location in Motomachi is excellent—right where you want to be for exploring the district, waterfront, and ropeway access.

No breakfast at all—just vending machines in the lobby. Nearby restaurants were all full when we tried, though that's not really the hotel's fault, just bad luck/timing.

It was clean, near Ropeway, Red Brick warehouse, morning market and station was walkable.

Nothing bad.

Schade.

Good location next to the red brick warehouses. Well equipped facilities and helpful staff. The room was very spacious and the view of Mt Hakodate was amazing. The washing machines were useful with clearly explained instructions.

Pocation can be a little far from some restaurants and amenities. The windows aren't supposed to be opened and so may be uncomfortable in hot weather.

Very peaceful and private. And comfortable bed. Room nice size. Location is excellent for seeing the town and shopping. Friendly staff.

There was no possibility to enjoy a drink anywhere like a bar. One could make green tea in the room.

Nice staffs, big size room. It is located in a quiet convenient place , 7 mins walk to red brick, 700 meters to ropeway entrance. Afternoon tea time from 15:00 till 22:00

Nothing. I will stay again if I come Hakodate again.

Clean and comfortable.

The rooms are very outdated and have a bit of a smell. I expected a bit more from the rooms.

Excellent location, good sized room, nice staff. Bonus they let us leave our car parked for a couple of hours after checking out.

Great location, right near tram stations and mountain hikes! They allowed us to hold our bags there for almost 5 hours after check out, and spend time in the lobby after checkout as well

Location is good, walkable to Mt Hakodate ropeway, Hachiman-Zaka slope, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse & plenty of eatery nearby. The junior suite we stayed was spacious for 4 pax, room was clean & comfortable. The hotel comes with free drinks & the lounge was cozy. The staff was friendly & helpful.

Nothing much to complain about as we are happy with the stay.

Really nice staff, the laundry machine and drier were free of us and there was detergent ready as well. Room was bigger than expected and the beds were cozy. It is close by the observatory ropeway and easy to reach from the hakodate station (can even use the tram)

Lovely hotel in a very central location near the tramline. The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel lobby was very pretty and comfortable. It is clear how much care and attention to detail the staff put into the hotel, it felt both homely and as a hotel. The staff were so nice throughout our stay.

Nice side spacious room. Comfortable beds.

Everything! Staff are super friendly and the room is very comfy!

Rooms were really spacious for a hotel in Japan.

It’s a small hotel so facilities will be a bit limited but they do try their best to provide the best. There is a massage chair, laundry space, microwaves and you can purchase food and beverage items from the front desk.

The Japanese double room was gorgeous. Plenty of space in all the rooms. 10 minute walk from ropeway.

It is a shame they no longer serve breakfast or have the big baths, but everything else was great.

Room is pretty spacious.

A bit outdated decoration but it is not really a great concern for me.

Good rooms. Netflix.

Laundromat making noise until 10 pm. Tiny bathroom like almost everywhere else

Rien

La Jollie is spacious, elegant and comfortable. With a stylish lobby, and friendly professional staff, your stay is a welcome respite from a 'hotel chain' style accommodation. The location makes everything walking distance and the neighbourhood is hours of fascinating touring. Don't change a thing La Jollie; tres bien.

Not a thing!

Transportation and shopping nearby. Also attractions were fairly easy to get to.
