Kirishimaya Ryokan

旅館の雰囲気と従業員の方の接客がとても良かったです。

旅館に行く際に急坂を登ることになる点には注意してください。

Kirishina Ryokan was very nice for an authentic Japanese Ryokan experience. The location was near the center of the Kusatsu Onsen area, and was easily walkable although at the top of a small hill. The Japanese breakfast was nice to have. The onsen baths were quite nice, although one thing to note about Kusatsu is that the hot spring water is a bit acidic so you are not supposed to lounge around in the hot spring for long periods of time.

There was a sulfur smell to the place, but probably any hot spring in Kusatsu would smell the same.

The owner is so nice, has good English The onsen in the hotel is very good and hot Comfortable rooms and great hospitality, the location is just a few minutes walk from the center

It’s located on a hill so just be aware, but not that difficult

Die Räumlichkeiten und Ausstattung sind schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Onsen ist sehr heiß, man kann nur 3 Minuten drin bleiben.

Das Personal war überaus freundlich. Wir hatten ein schönes Ryokan Erlebnis.

施設の清潔感をはじめ、ご主人をはじめとする従業員の方々の対応と接客は素晴らしいのひと言です。建物は昔の建物の造りです。こだわりのお風呂やシンプルな朝食、館内の雰囲気が好きになりました。このサービスと旅館の立地、お風呂の質でこのお値段はお得です。私の旅のプランとして夜ご飯がないのは問題ありませんでした。

良くない点ではないです。部屋のトイレが狭いのは身長183センチの私としては大変でした。各フロアには別にトイレは完備されてますので安心できます。

湯畑からとても近く　ぶらぶら気軽にいけたのが良かった。2泊しましたが２日目も別のタオルを頂けて良心的でした。

温泉が1階で部屋が3階でエレベーターないのが残念でした。エレベーターあれば　もっと入りたかった。露天風呂が1人しか入れない。もう少し広い露天風呂であって欲しかったです。

旅館のご夫婦がどんな事でも優しく接待してくれました。 尻焼というだけあって温度の高い温泉でした。 朝御飯も健康的で美味しくいただきました。 駐車場もチェックアウト後もで午後2時まで御借り出来るそうです。

エレベーターは無いので階段で部屋まで移動になります。

レトロ。ベッドじゃなかったところ。（旅館は畳に布団に限る）

I enjoyed everything! Service is exceptional, lots of activities available especially for a one-night stay, and the baths were amazing.

Not very much in terms of dislike - my only issue being that the rooms are small and toilet in rooms are cramped, but that is merely by design. There is concern for mildew on the bath handles, but that is also likely just due to age and usage, and not due to poor upkeep. Otherwise, everything is great!

オーナーの応対が　爽やかで　きめ細かく　ホスピタリティを感じました。 チェックイン時の　館内案内が　とても丁寧で　分かりやすかったし　夜には　ロビーに　麦茶や蕎麦茶を用意してありました。 脱衣所に　尻焼温泉に関する云われや注意事項が　分かりやすく記載されていて　温泉自体も　効能が感じられました。 何よりも　湯畑から直ぐの立地が　凄く良かったです。 駐車場が　チェックアウトの14時まで　使えるのも　良いと思います。

部屋のトイレが　狭く　真っ直ぐに座ることが　出来なかったです。せっかくのウォシュレット付き便座も　水の勢いが弱かったです。

La gentillesse du personnel, chambre propre, literie(futons) confortable et fait pendant que nous sommes allées nous prenons mener, machine à laver disponible, très bien situé pour bouger dans Kusatsu , à 5 min du centre. Pas de douche dans ma chambre mais nous avions un petit lavabo et WC. Les douches sont les bains publics mais possibilité d'utiliser l'onsen privé si disponible . C'est inclut dans le tarif. Il y a une salle avec des jeux de sociétés, une bibliothèque avec 1000 mangas, des appareils pour passer les pieds. Petit déjeuner typique japonais . A découvrir , c'était frais et délicieux . Je recommande.

L'eau de l'onsen était très chaude car elle sort de la montagne à une haute température et même si elle est un peu refroidie, cela reste chaud pour moi. Je n y suis pas rester longtemps mais c'est mon ressenti. J ai utilisé les douches et c'était très bien

L’emplacement, la possibilité d’aller au Onsen à deux en privé, le style

Le couloir pour arriver à la chambre est assez austère et ne donne pas une bonne impression. Pourtant la chambre est très bien.

The room was comfortable and service was wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, simple and delicious. You can borrow yukata and woven bamboo bags from the lobby and wear them out into town to visit the different onsens. Close walking distance to the centre of the town. Just to note, the building is up quite a steep road and there are no elevators in the hotel, so if you would struggle walking or going up stairs, this is probably not the place for you. However, if you are able bodied, the walk up is quite relaxing and if you follow the stairs up to the shrine and along the forest area, the cherry blossoms are truly beautiful. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly and we loved the traditional decor and atmosphere. We noticed the kyudo decor but didn't ask until the day we were leaving and found out that the back of building used to be a Kyudo Jo. The private onsen was also very relaxing and the "burning bottom" hotspring was a interesting experience. Would definitely love to visit again! A wonderful place to stay.

老板很热情，并没有因为语言不通而没有耐心，环境很棒，是我想住的传统和风旅馆，最最重要的是，温泉实在太棒了！！是我目前在日本体验过的温泉no.1。

湯畑に近く便利だった。

冬場は水が冷たいからお湯が出ないと辛いかも。

ザ、旅館という雰囲気で部屋も落ち着いた感じだしお風呂も熱かったが源泉で気持ち良かった。コスパも良い。また草津の湯畑からも近くお土産や飲食店も近く旅館を起点に行動しやすかった。

お風呂のお湯が熱すぎて慣れるまでが大変。もう少し入りやすい温度にして欲しい。部屋に鏡があるが寝る時に鏡に映るのが嫌なのでカバーをして欲しい。

従業員の方が親切だった。 貸切風呂が使えて良かった。

コンセントをもう少し複数箇所使えたら良かった。

一人旅だったので、豪華な部屋は望まなかったので、安い部屋で部屋の大きさもちょうど良かった。また、お風呂も深いお風呂で私は熱いお風呂が好きなので、ちょうどよかった。部屋からは桜の花もよく見え、気持ちが良かった。人数も少なく静かでゆったりできた朝食を頼みましたが、ご飯がとても美味しく良かったです。布団カバーシーツのノリがよくきいて、気持ちよく寝れました。

別に不都合な点はありませんでした

The location of the hotel is extremely central and very close to everything! However, the hill to reach the ryokan is quite steep, make sure you're mentally prepared. The facilities of the hotel are excellent! The rooms are wonderful, the amenities provided in the room were wonderful, the futon was incredibly comfortable, and the staff were amazing. We dropped our luggage off before checkin to continue exploring Kusatsu and when we came back to check in, the luggage was already in our room! My name was also written on a sign to welcome us. The shared space downstairs was really quiet and comfortable too. The onsen itself was very refreshing. I recommend getting there before 8pm to avoid the crowd. The breakfast was delicious too.

The Wi-Fi sometimes was weak in the room and my phone often switched to mobile data but since I hardly used my phone it wasn't a big problem. Also, be aware that the hill to the entrance is steep!

I loved everything about this ryokan. It had so much soul and history connected to it. The owner was wonderfully kind, welcoming, and spoke really good English. He explained in detail about their baths (there is also an option for a private bath, but I didn't use it) and showed me around when I first arrived. Everything is close: There is a pretty shrine nearby; Yubatake is a few minutes away. Every evening, there's a tea kettle brewing something delicious on the open fire in a cauldron (so cosy). The baths are open 24/7, so you can always hop in for a short bath. For me, this was a nice experience just before bed. Just outside of the ryokan is so serene that you can hear the nature waking up in the morning. Sleeping was also very comfortable. I have not tried any dishes, but next time, I will. I will be back here next time for sure. お世話になりました！🤗

I've missed some hot coffee (but, it was not a big deal at all). I enjoyed everything about this ryokan.

3階のトイレですがウォシュレットの出が弱過ぎる、旅館までの坂がきつかった、階段にしてもらいたい役所に申し出てみたら如何かな。

貸切風呂が無料で空いていれば24時間入れる。 大浴場についてる露天風呂も小さいけどほっこりしてずーと入れるいいお風呂でした。

Conveniently located. Easily accessible to the town. Great hospitality- allowed us to check in earlier which was kind. We were personally shown round n etiquette was explained to us. All round a brilliant stay.

旅館前の坂道が、スーツケースを運びながらだとすごくキツかったので、送迎などあれば助かります。 　あと、朝食を食べている間に部屋の布団が片付けられてたことに驚きました。貴重品、服などを無防備にしていたため、一言言って欲しかったです。 部屋に戻ったあと、貴重品など無くなってないか確認することになりました。10代女の子がいたので配慮して欲しかったですね。

Staffs are very nice and speaks English well, have a private onsen room.

The breakfast does not worth the price at all, very small portion and very basic food. You could get better food cheaper in the town.

Everything about kirishimaya ryokan was wonderful. The location was ideal, only a few minutes walk from the yubatake (central hot spring attraction) and several shops and food options. We arrived much later than we intended and were welcomed promptly and cheerily into the hotel at nearly 9 pm. The warm atmosphere with tea and all night baths was exactly what we needed after a stressful day of travel from tokyo. Our futons had already been prepared and hot water and tea biscuits were ready in our room. The baths were lovely. I used all 3 of the available baths, both public baths and the private bath. All were well kept, clean, and supplied with lotions, razors, combs, and shampoo/conditioner. We speak a little Japanese but not much. Almost all signage in the building was printed in Japanese and english including good historical summaries of the towns culture and best bathing practices. The desk attendant spoke fluent english as soon as I indicated we preferred that. We did not dine with kirishimaya choosing instead to explore town and look for local dining while window shopping but I have no doubt the meals would have been sublime as everything else exceeded my needs and expectations. We stayed for two nights and were treated to a well made room after we returned from the day of exploration and more tea and cookies!

We did not mind at all or have issues with it but a cautionary word that the building is located at the top of a steep hill without steps and has no lift or elevator to get to any of the rooms, only stairs. Again, no issue for us but notable for some guests that would struggle to get up and down the hill and steps. And there were only 3 floors so it wasn’t possible to be too many steps. Only 4 flights maximum.

Staff were extremely nice and informative, great service overall. The private onsen was great as well (the water is very hot, so it was nice with the snow outside). The location was good, walk distance from all central areas of Kusatsu.

This place was amazing. It is a family-owned business run by extremely friendly and welcoming people. The location was excellent - really close to the centre. The room was beautiful and the futons very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, and the private onsen was amazing. There were lots of little touches like hot tea in the evenings, the little manga library, and the family photos and historical info on display which made it feel special. We would highly recommend it to everyone.

I had an exceptional experience at Kirishimaya Ryokan. The standout feature is definitely the staff; they are incredibly caring, attentive, and speak fluent English, which made the entire check-in and stay effortless. The location is ideal—it’s very close to the Yubatake, yet tucked away enough to remain peaceful. For those driving, the parking lot is excellent and easy to access, which is a rare find in this area. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kusatsu!

とうちゃくしてからのスタッフの対応がとても親切ですし、館内説明もとても分かりりやすく、事前に部屋の準備もできているので、遅れて到着してすぐにベッドに入れるのはとてもうれしい。

景観や値段のリーズナブルさが良かったと思います 温泉に関しても源泉掛け流しという事で凄く熱かったですが疲れが一気に取れた感じがしました！

急勾配な坂の上にある為、ある程度覚悟して行ったほうがいいと思います笑

古いですが情緒あふれる施設で、過度なおもてなしもなくちょうどよい居心地でした。お風呂もゆっくり浸かることができて満足でした。

もう少し館内で購入できる飲食物があってもよかったです。
