Bien el desayuno, muy tranquilo el lugar.

La primera toalla que encontré para los pies al salir del baño estaba mas apropiada, que el tapetito servilleta que pusieron al otro día.

Nice and helpful staff. Loved my porch area to hang out on as my room was very hot.

My room was very hot with only a fan to help stay cool. Would get very hot in the heat of the day. The shower barely had any water coming out and was so small I couldn’t bend over in.

El staff es muy atento y la desayuno es muy rico, es la segunda vez que nos hospedamos aquí y creemos volver

Apesar de que no se necesita tanto debido al clima de Oaxaca si sería bueno el considerar tener aire acondicionado en algunas habitaciones para personas muy calurosas ya que por la tarde el ventilador puede no darse abasto

Excelente ubicación,

Todo muy ameno durante nuestra estancia, habitación impecable con ventilador para el calor. El personal siempre muy amable y atento. Ubicación muy buena, cerca del centro pero en una zona tranquila, sin ruido. Los desayunos no los probamos.

No hubo algo malo, todo en general fue bueno. Tal vez los precios solo si algo elevados, más porque fuimos en temporada alta.

Ótima localização, a cinco minutos a pé do Centro de Oaxaca.

Evite os quartos do primeiro andar, que não têm nenhuma isolação sonora e estão localizados ao lado do espaço de café da manhã e você vai ganhar algum tempo valioso de sono. A internet nos cômodos é praticamente inexistente.

Me gustó mucho la ubicación del hotel y la atención del personal. Es de 10.

No me gustó que las paredes de las habitaciones son como de cartón, todo de escucha. La habitación donde me hospedé no tenía un closet para colgar la ropa. En la madrugada se va el agua. El pago en el restaurante con tarjeta lleva comisión, lo que es ilegal. Pero lo peor fue en mi segunda noche, me llamaron de un número desconocido para tratar de extorsionarme. La persona que me llamó sabía en qué hotel estaba y mi número de habitaciones. Por supuesto colgué pero me pregunto. ¿Cómo obtuvieron esa información?. Fue la peor noche que he pasado. Hice la denuncia a las autoridades de Oaxaca y lo reporté con el hotel. Claro que no espero que suceda nada pero dudo mucho que vuelva a hacer una reserva a través de booking.

The staff were very friendly, although they started watering plants and cleaning at 6 am outside the rooms, thus waking us up.

The room was booked as a king size standard bed, but turned out to be much smaller. This stopped us reserving other better places nearby, and I think was a misrepresentation of their offer. We asked at the desk and the girl confirmed the misrepresentation, and offered another room. The new one was partly remodeled and very noisy. Once there the staff where very welcoming and it seemed nice, but we were escorted to a tiny rooftop conversion. Both rooms had problems that I see in other reviews other people have had. 1. Shower heads were scaled up so only the slightest trickle came out. (I unscrewed both and took them to reception). 2. The curtain in the second room was too small for the window, so the room was visible from the patio. 3. The window did not shut, and so any noise penetrated. 4. The staff started cleaning and watering at 6 am that woke us up and stopped us going back to sleep. 5. The staff did not communicate our change in room to each other so we were disturbed early in the morning by a knock. 6. There were many other small details of neglect that made our departure a relief. The price we payed was certainly not worth the first room and small bed, nor the half-finished second room. The hotel is selling small rooms as king sized and this seems to me dishonest. We stayed for two nights around the corner a few days before for about 10€ more and it was far superior. Very poor value for.money.

Que no resuelvan la situación cuando evidentemente es problema de sus instalaciones, no hubo agua por 3 noches. El personal amable pero la ama de llaves - duela no fue muy resolutiva.

I couldn’t get hot water in the shower on any of five days and nights. I asked for help but nothing improved the situation. Avoid room 13. Others in our group moved rooms to get hot water. Worth noting that there is a fan but no aircon. Much of the year this is not an issue.

The location, the staff, the breakfast were great

The room was a bit dark and the bathroom/shower was very small and impractical. no separate shower/shower curtain and water would flow into the bedroom if not blocked by a towel.

The staff were so nice! We first got allocated to a room on the top floor. This room was very tiny, with horrible lighting - it almost made you feel claustrophobic. But! we asked if we could change rooms and they were so sweet and moved us to another on the first floor. This room was so nice and quiet and looked like the pictures listed. The hotel is located great, close to Oaxaca historical center with restaurants and shops.

The first room we stayed at was not great. No water provided and we had to pay for water.

The room was barely larger than the bed in its middle, and the hot water in the shower took about 5 mins to warm up

The location is perfect . The owners are wonderful ladies who take very good care of their property. The workers work hard to keep the property clean and help guests.

Breakfast could have been better with fruits , cereals and yogurt. They served the same local food everyday.

Room was dark. Lighting was terrible. Had no water when we arrived. No top sheet. No towels when we arrived. Never had the room cleaned in three days. Never received clean towels. Bathroom was so small your knees touched the door. Water from the shower flooded the floor.

Although the room is very small with a very low ceiling, it was cosy and perfect. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and there was blankets which were much needed! The guy at reception is very friendly and helpful! The location is excellent, just on the edge of Centro and a 5-10 minute walk to everything

The shower didn’t have any pressure at all, it was just a trickle of water and very hard to wash the hair, also the hot water barely works, you have to run the water for about 20 minutes before the ‘hot’ water comes through and even then it’s not very hot, just luke warm. Very low ceilings

The only amenities provided were soap. There was no shampoo, conditioner, body lotion or hair dryer.

The customer service was top tier! I loved how friendly and helpful the staff were. Especially, the guy at the front desk. He was amazing! The location was quite decent as well.

The hot water from the shower took quiet a while to function. For a while I thought it was wasn't operational. It ultimately worked though.

The property was in a great location, easily accessible to Centro. It was also good value for money.

We stayed in unit 13, and the shower had very weak water pressure. We also had to climb a narrow spiral staircase to get to the top level, which was difficult with heavy luggage.

The location is central and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was quite humid with little ventilation (also in the bathroom), and despite staying for 5 nights our room was not cleaned a single time, nor was anything restocked (e.g. we had to go ask for toilet paper). It’s also quite small, and at least our room was noisy (with earplugs this was not a problem though).

This place was clean, easy wall to the center of Oaxaca. You can get a taxi at the end of the block. Staff was friendly.

I had construction going on outside my room Debris was falling inside and my walls were shaking. It caused dust to get on all my clothes.

My room (rm2) was on the ground floor and a bit noisy at night. I could hear everything in the courtyard, including someone using the bathroom

The staff was incredibly friendly and nice, all was very clean, the breakfast was delicious every time. They helped us with a good doctor for my allergy, with bookings for busses for Mazunte.

Love the location was very close to theplaza, and it was close to el Mercado, convenience everything was close.

When we did the checkout, it was a different employee and she was very rude, we pay for a taxi the day before we asked her if she can confirm us the taxi because it was already late in the taxi was supposed to be there at 6 AM. She was not very helpful. We end up leaving around 7 AM we pay the taxi was for 6 AM. we are waiting the taxis 10 minutes before six. We were so disappointed.

We had breakfast included, they did not have any vegetarian option - when we asked for it they just offered to cook us some eggs but they charge money for it. They should be more inclusive and include at least one vegetarian option as breakfast.

The place is located some streets to the center (around 10) and the stairs that you need to use to arrive to the 3rd floor are really tight and it’s difficult to use it with the luggage

The location is very good, a bit far from the center but not too much, we walked around a lot. Staff members were good and attentive, we even asked for a rather short notice request and it was handled (laundry).

The mattresses can be improved a bit (they were very thin), but besides this everything was ok.

I loved the location and the staff was friendly.

I would have liked to know I'd be staying on the 3rd floor especially since I had heavy luggage abd a toddler w me.

Noisy ceiling roof fan. Literally never stop making noise while the light was on. We should turn off the light and the fan to avoid the annoying sound.

Receptionist. Toilet was dirty before I arrive they should to checked it. The presión of the shower was quite poorly. Breakfast was good just not choices only what they make for the day. And they don’t communicate each other as they guy ( receptionist) new I think as leaving early bc I book a trip with them ( so much expensive 700 and outside was 350). The chefs didn’t know I was leaving early so she needed run to prepare the breakfast. I asked if the receptionist told her I was living 10’ early she saids no. And it’s none at reception during 7-8am.

No air conditioner just a vent , it was a hot room some nights hard to sleep we had to leave days before our check out.

Do not book directly with Posada Hotel Don Mario. I booked a reservation for 6 nights at the fully reimburseable rate and paid in full. The receipt which came back to me the same day showed I paid for one night and that this is not reimbursable. When I tried to make a change through both email and phone call I was asked to send my receipt to show this. I received no response. I decided to cancel in full as I did not want to ruin my vacation by arguing that I had already paid. I have to challenge the charge on my VISA card as the hotel is trying to now say that I am only due reimbursement for the one night shown on my incorrect receipt. This is taking me hours providing all my documentation. Do not subject yourself to this.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The outdoor areas are gorgeous. The location is really wonderful! Couldn't get much better

Some rooms are quite warm with no windows and the bedding isn't super comfortable. The bathroom and rooms are basic overall but do the job for the price

Excellent location with small market, restaurants and good coffee nearby (Pan Con Madre is very good). Great Mexican style breakfast with a different dish each day featuring tortillas, eggs, beans or similar etc with a sweet bread roll, fresh fruit and diner style drip coffee. Good shower. Nice little balcony with insect screen door. Pretty, colourful decor throughout. Good covered sitting spots outdoors with tables on every floor. Nice spot on top floor for a beer after a long hot day (it's up a small iron winding stairs so avoid if you're not good with heights). Friendly staff. Free drinking water. Quiet at night.

The fan was good but a bit low for the bed height.

breakfast was always great....not the same everyday which is good. I will return. I stayed for almost 2 weeks as my base camp. Staff always very helpful and friendly even though I do not speak Spanish... A small hotel with 12 rooms but very beautiful courtyard space to sit in, plan the day, and have breakfast. A very secure place which allows only personal access at night....I basically had doors and windows open a lot of the time so I felt like I was in a big house....not a big hotel.

I could have stayed longer...ha

Breakfast barely adequate. Bad coffee. No AC (broken) and it was 96 degrees. Very hot inside the room. Fans didn't do much. Only one staff member spoke English and he worked evenings. We knew our travel options which was good because the hotel provided no information.
