LOVED everything. Beautiful property, perfect location, lovely owners and some of the best food we’ve had in Morocco. Highly recommend the home cooked dinner, YUM! Our room was a little hot of course given that there is no aircon, but we had a a nice cool breeze from the balcony door so it was okay. So cute with all the candles at night. Would stay again!

De locatie is amazing! Het is een echte toeristische trekpleister, maar zeker de moeite waard. Je bevindt je in een film. Kamers en verblijf is geweldig aangekleed.

Ze waren een film aan het opnemen. Daardoor de hele nacht veel herrie door het afbreken van de set. Dit was erg jammer.

Prachtige locatie en mooie grote kamer

Es ist sehr ruhig und mitten in der Altstadt von Aït Ben Haddou. Die Familie die das Hotel führt war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Das Essen war super lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Das Zimmer war sehr schön groß und sauber. Von der Dachterrasse kann man abends perfekt den Sternenhimmel genießen. Ich kann den Aufenthalt wirklich empfehlen, denn am späten Nachmittag und morgens hat man genügend Zeit sich die Altstadt in Ruhe anzusehen ohne die ganzen Touristen Gruppen. Außerdem war es kein Problem über das Hotel ein Fahrt für den nächsten Morgen in die nächst größere Stadt zu buchen, bei der man sich auch sehr wohl gefühlt hat.

A truly unique experience. Kasbah Tebi is located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Ben Haddou, making the stay feel incredibly special. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I got a history of the site from the owner. A wonderful place to see and experience.

Uitzicht vanaf het balkon.

Alles! Hoewel het een historisch pand betreft, gelegen in de ksar, is de rest een grote farce. De beschrijving laat je geloven in een sprookje te zijn beland. Dat klopt maar wel in negatieve zin. De kasbah is gewoon aangesloten op elektriciteit en de kaarsen, als ze al worden aangestoken, zijn meer uit commercieel oogpunt. Kamers zijn bloedheet. Laat je niet verleiden voor een romantisch diner. Het onze werd geserveerd op het terras, zonder kaarsen en uitsluitend om 19.30 uur. Wijzigen niet mogelijk. De samenstelling is ronduit slecht. Vooraf een bordje met blokjes tomaat en gesnipperde rode ui. Geen dressing, geen kruiden niets. Hoofdgerecht een tajine van één kippenbout met wat partjes aardappelen, halve tomaat, halve citroen, halve courgette en een wortel. Smaakloos en fantasieloos. Het dessert was een glaasje met blokjes watermeloen. Iets erbij drinken? Een fles water en dat is het. Wel graag MAD 300 afrekenen voor 2 personen. Het ontbijt werd 's ochtends ineens binnen geserveerd omdat er buiten op terras teveel vliegen waren. Nou ik heb nieuws die waren er 's avonds ook. Voor de vorm werd er een kandelaar met vijf kaarsjes aangestoken om nog enigszins aan de beschrijving te voldoen. De exorbitant hoge prijs staat in geen enkele verhouding tot het gebodene. Kortom bezoek de kasr overdag en vermijd een verblijf.

This is a hotel I will remember for many years. Not only is the location stunning, but the rooms and overall atmosphere are very immersive; I truly felt like I was back in time. There is limited electricity, but there are actually lights in the room and plugs for charging phones and (very key!!!) using the fan. We opted to light candles to conserve energy but had the fan going STRONG all night (we stayed in June). Breakfast was really lovely and included eggs, bread, yogurt, fruit, and more.

The room didn't stay as cool as I would have hoped but by the second day we worked out a system to block the sunlight during the day so it would be cooler by evening. There are many black flies nearby which entered our room while the window was open (just a fact of life in living near animals). I would maybe request they put up fly traps nearby, though it was a minor inconvenience.

Perfekte Lage, da man im Ort bleiben kann, wenn alle anderen zurück auf die andere Seite des Flusses müssen. Einmalige Atmosphäre in der Kasbah, die sehr schön gestaltet ist. Tolle Terrasse mit Ausblick und schöne Dachterrassen mit Blick auf den Ort. Ausgang aus der Kasbah direkt zum Ort.

Speisesaal fürs Frühstück dunkel und stickig. Wäre schöner auf der Terrasse. Frühstück etwas dürftig. Die Kasbah selbst ist schön gestaltet, die Zimmer sind aber etwas lieblos. Inzwischen gibt es überall elektrisches Licht und am Empfang WLAN, was die Ausleuchtung mit Kerzenlicht zwar schön, aber etwas gezwungen erscheinen lässt. Zugang könnte besser beschildert sein (wenn man über den Fluss auf den Ort zuläuft, rechter Zugang - am linken Zugang wird Eintritt verlangt)

In an ancient Kasbah, candle lights, starry sky, lovely dinner waiting for us. Not your usual easy location, be prepared to walk unpaved alleys and cross the stream over planks (although you can also cross the main bridge, just a bit longer way) so bring as little as possible. The experience of the kasbah, the beautiful decor, the possibility of wandering the little streets before there are too many people, wonderful! Candle lights mostly, but there is electricity for charging phones, and there is light where needed. Just not really needed, and you can see the stars!

Die Übernachtung fühlt sich an wie eine Zeitreise. Die Räume sind authentisch eingerichtet und die ausgestellten Gegenstände sind alle originale Zeitzeugen, dennoch fühlt es sich nicht an wie ein Museum.

Das Essen (Frühstück und Abendessen) war okay aber nicht das Highlight unserer Reise

The location was perfect for being able to walk down to the river, the cascades and hikes without needing the car

The parking is great, but you cannot access it entirely without stopping and having it opened for you so you do have to park on the side of a busy road on the bend until someone can assist. Not a huge negative just something to bear in mind.

Kerzenschein im Hotelzimmer im Weltkulturerbe war faszinierend; Kinderzimmer hatte Licht und Strom, Elternzimmer hatte Strom zum Handyladen. Angesichts des Risikos von Kerzen für Kinderzimmer ein sehr guter Kompromiss! Lage innerhalb Ait Ben Haddous war super, dadurch sowohl in den Abendstunden wie auch in den Morgenstunden (nicht nur zum Sonnenaufgang) eine absolut einzigartige Stille. Man hatte den Ort fast für sich alleine.

Die Auswahl der Getränke am Abend könnte etwas mehr bieten; aber insgesamt nicht wirklich störend (kann man vorher mittels Supermarkt auch selbst lösen)

Das moscas não só no nosso quarto mas no jantar. Eu sei que não é culpa do hotel mas como sugestão, poderíam pensar talvez em um ventilador para pelo menos no jantar elas não ficarem pousando na comida. O quarto talvez poderia ter tela.

Geweldige ervaring om te verblijven in een 400 jaar oude kasbah. Je waant je heel even in een filmset, niet perse omdat Ait Ben Haddou daadwerkelijk voor o.a. Gladiator is gebruik, maar vooral omdat het decorbouw lijkt. Wij vonden het geweldig om in de ‘sluip door, kruip door’ kasbah te slapen. Bed was wat hard, maar dat maken we bijna overal mee en is vooral een persoonlijk ding. Personeel is zeer hartelijk(zoals we gewend zijn van Marokko) en het diner en ontbijt waren ook goed! De charme is ook dat er spaarzaam met electra wordt omgegaan, dus geen airco. Wij waren er begin juni en dan is het een warme nacht 😁

Mitten in der Altstadt, tolle Aussicht, etwas abenteuerliche Erfahrung. Abends tolle Stimmung durch die Kerzen.

Wenig herzlicher Empfang, Essen eher so lala, Sauberkeit gewöhnungsbedürftig. Den Preis muss man als Instandhaltung der Kasbah sehen (steht ansonsten nicht im Verhältnis).

Unser Zimmer war zwar sehr groß, aber es hat sehr unangenehm und streng gerochen, und es war wirklich dreckig. Wir erwarteten, dass es dunkel sein würde, aber letztlich ist Elektrizität in der Kasbah vorhanden, es sind nur die Glühbirnen heraus geschraubt um eine romantische Atmosphäre zu erzeugen, und der Kasbah somit eine exklusiven Charme zu verleihen. Die Inhaber waren wortkarg und nicht bemüht einem etwas zur Geschichte des Hauses oder zur Einrichtung zu erläutern. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht, die Kasbah ist völlig überteuert. Unser Sohn wurde in der Nacht sehr krank, ob es an dem Abendessen in der Kasbah lag, kann ich aber nicht sagen.

It was an amazing experience to stay within the walls of Ait Benhaddou itself, and to have it nearly to ourselves after the day-trippers had gone, and the Kasbah was really special - we were given a box of candles and matches to light the room (there are some electrical outlets for basic charging, but otherwise it is off-grid), which made for an atmospheric stay. We booked a family suite, which had two separate bedrooms, living space, access to a terrace, and private bathroom with a very good shower. Dinner was served on the downstairs terrace overlooking the city walls and river, and was absolutely delicious (chocolate dessert went down very well with our son). The staff were lovely and so kind with our son. A really very special stay, thank you.

You could come to Ait BenHaddou for a few hours, walk around this amazing village and leave.. but why would you do that when you could stay overnight at the Kasbah Tebi and have one of the most unique and memorable stays of your life! This Kasbah was stunning, exploring it at night by candle light was truly special. Mohamed and staff were super friendly and attentive. Make sure you book the home cooked dinner, some of the best food we have eaten on our trip.

The single rooms have amazing views. Mine even had a light and a working electricity socket. This place was super atmospheric. Ahmed helped to bring my suitcase over the river with a mule.

The food was average. The atmosphere makes uo for it. There is no mobile internet coverage and wifi only in the ground floor.

This is a beautiful, quiet and authentic place to stay right in the heart of Ait Ben Haddou. Thanks to its excellent location, we were able to enjoy the village peacefully in the evening after most of the tourists had left, which made the experience even more special. The property is very nicely decorated and full of character. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout our stay, and we also received clear and useful instructions before arrival, which made everything very easy. Breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this place.

Du coup chambre très bruyant. Assez déçu vu le prix assez conséquent. Je pense que les chambres du haut sont beaucoup mieux

Excellent location inside Ait Benhaddou. Perfect if you want to wake up early and explore the streets before it gets hot and busy. We walked to the top of the hill for sunrise which was breathtaking and very easy due to this hotels location. It’s very basic on set up and amenities, but that is part of the charm in my opinion

Staying in a classic rammed-earth kasbah was unforgettable, and the location right on the gorge was amazing. Our room’s balcony had a view of the olive grove. Dinner (and breakfast) by candlelight were excellent and easy for vegetarians.

It was an incredibly special experience to sleep in Aït Ben Haddou in one of the old buildings, everything only lit with candles. Hosts were very kind and we truly enjoyed our stay. Candle light dinner was awesome and very tasty!

Alles war traumhaft. Die kashba ist super gelegen, geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten ein tolles großes Zimmer mit Bad. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Abendessen mit Kerzenschein traumhaft, ebenso der Kerzenschein im Zimmer statt elektronischer Strom. Steckdosen gab es jedoch . Wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder....

Magnifique expérience hors du temps… Vivre un coucher puis un lever de soleil au cœur de la kasbah d’Aït Ben Haddou est une expérience magique et inoubliable. Prendre le temps, simplement, dans un lieu chargé d’histoire et de beauté… Cet établissement est magnifiquement entretenu et restauré avec beaucoup de goût et d’authenticité. L’ambiance du soir, à la lueur des bougies, est absolument magique, et les couchers de soleil depuis la terrasse sont splendides. Un immense merci pour cette expérience unique et pour la qualité de l’accueil, chaleureux et parfait du début à la fin.

Alles❣️❣️❣️❣️ Unser Aufenthalt in der Kasbah Tebi war einfach unvergesslich – vermutlich der schönste und außergewöhnlichste Hotelaufenthalt meines Lebens. Mohammed und Hassan sind mit Abstand die herzlichsten und aufmerksamsten Gastgeber, die man sich vorstellen kann. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen, fast wie ein Gast bei Freunden. Die Kasbah selbst ist etwas ganz Besonderes: eine jahrhundertealte traditionelle Kasbah ohne Strom – und genau das macht die Magie dieses Ortes aus. Abends bei Kerzenlicht zu sitzen, die absolute Ruhe zu erleben und in diese alte marokkanische Atmosphäre einzutauchen, war einfach einzigartig und unglaublich berührend. Man spürt hier Geschichte, Tradition und Seele auf eine Weise, wie man es kaum noch irgendwo findet. Auch das Frühstück war fantastisch – frisch, liebevoll zubereitet und mit Blick auf diese beeindruckende Umgebung einfach ein Traum. Wer Marokko wirklich erleben möchte und nicht nur ein gewöhnliches Hotel sucht, sollte unbedingt mindestens eine Nacht hier verbringen. Dieser Ort ist weit mehr als ein Hotel – er ist ein Erlebnis, das man niemals vergisst. Vielen Dank an Mohammed und Hassan für diese wundervolle Zeit. Ich kann die Kasbah Tebi wirklich jedem von Herzen empfehlen

Starting within the walls of the old town was an incredible experience. The family that owned Kasbah Tebi were so interesting, passionate about the renovation and lovely hosts. It was a special experience.

Nothing really. A small point to make was the amount of flies. They were everywhere and it was a little uncomfortable at night.

L’emplacement

Nous avons été très déçus par notre séjour dans cette kasbah. L’accueil manquait clairement de professionnalisme : la personne présente semblait agacée et peu concernée par les clients, ce qui est regrettable dans un lieu qui se veut une maison d’hôtes. Le repas proposé à 200 dirhams par personne n’était absolument pas à la hauteur du tarif : une simple soupe de légumes avec semoule et des tajines très fades, servis à la chaîne en moins de 30 minutes, sans aucune véritable expérience culinaire ou convivialité. La literie était inconfortable et les sanitaires particulièrement vétustes, avec un niveau de finition et d’entretien qui ne correspond pas au standing affiché. Le lieu possède du potentiel et un beau cadre, mais le rapport qualité/prix n’est clairement pas justifié à ce jour. Nous ne recommandons malheureusement pas cette adresse en l’état.

nous n avons pas été prévenu de l indisponibilité du parking habituel(en travaux) accueil glacial et même insultant car nous avons été déçu de la chambre par rapport à aux photos booking et l avons dit. le repas du soir est décevant : tajines brûlées - le serveur nous répond que c est comme ça au Maroc ! petit déjeuner quelconque servi dans la salle à manger et non pas sur la jolie terrasse

price is extremely high for a room which is dark, no electricity at all And you need to pay extra for bottle of water! My children don't drink coffee, so if you ask for water, they charge you extra. And you are not allowed to have your breakfast outside (like on the pictures), only possible inside in the dark building... No location is super, but hotel is unfortunately not worth the money....

very quirky rooms with candle lights only. The beds are large and comfortable. Bathroom clean with a very nice hot shower. The guy at the restaurant was somewhat peculiar, we asked for bottles of beer and we just couldn’t understand what he was saying. Our neighbouring table seeemed to have beer and wine available, so Im not sure why he couldn’t serve us.

Very touristy location

Il Kasbah Tebi è un luogo affascinante e autentico, perfetto per chi vuole vivere da vicino l’atmosfera unica di Ait Ben Haddou. Le camere sono semplici ma accoglienti, non c'è l'elettricità ed è tutto a lume di candele il che rappresenta un compromesso tra la comodità e l'esperienza di un kashbah autentico della vita di una volta. La cena a lume di candele molto romantica, potrebbe essere migliorata sulla qualità. Un dettaglio utile: la struttura si raggiunge solo a piedi (circa 500 m), passando o dal ponte pedonale (strada più lunga) o da un piccolo ponticello un po’ traballante, che aggiunge un tocco di avventura. Nel complesso, un soggiorno molto positivo e consigliato a chi cerca autenticità con qualche margine di miglioramento sul lato ristorazione.

Kasbah Tebi è un posto stupendo ed estremamente particolare. L'illuminazione è tutta fatta grazie a candele, sia negli spazi comuni che in camera da letto. Questo rende l'atmosfera magica. La cena è semplice ma molto buona e piacevole, così come la colazione. Camminare nei dintorni del paesino e appena li fuori al tramonto è davvero bello. Consigliatissimo

Niente da dire, tutto perfetto. L'unica cosa importante da considerare è che essendo tutto illuminato con le candele bisogna stare molto attenti a spegnerle onde evitare incidenti. Non abbiamo avuto paura ma l'attenzione è stata alta.

Yes, it is a memorable experience to stay in the old, mostly abandoned kasbah in a fairly authentic setting, and I am glad we did it, if only to have a chance to stroll through town before the tour groups arrive or to sit on their nice veranda at night. Dinner and breakfast as well as check-in were nice enough, but felt like a commercial operation without a personal touch. Luggage pickup by donkey to get through the river via stepping boards worked well. You are encouraged to use candles only but there are solar powered lamps and electrical outlets available in the rooms if needed. I certainly don't regret having stayed there, but felt it was a bit overpriced for room and sleep quality.

Hotellin omistajan kommunikaatio ensiluokkaista: luotettavaa, selkeää, ystävällistä ja kaikki huomioitiin. Majoitus vastasi täysin sekä kuvausta ja omia kuvitelmia. Ainutlaatuinen tunnelma jota ei saa normaalista hotellista. Arvostamme että saimme yöpyä tälläisessä paikassa joka täynnä historiaa.

Location, decor, large and comfortable room

Staff was not that friendly, could have younger more energetic staff including women (not just in the kitchen). Candle light dinner is nice but breakfast could be served out on the beautiful terraces.

Super Lage in Ait Ben Haddou, das Abendessen ist auch sehr gut und typisch marrokanisch. Und in manchen Räumen gibt es elektrisches Licht.

Die angekündigte Romantik im Kerzenschein weicht schnell der Realität, in einem uralten Schuppen untergebracht zu sein. Die Betten sind steinhart und wir waren uns nicht sicher, ob die Bettwäsche wirklich frisch bezogen war. Der Eingang in das Bad führt durch eine sehr kleine Türe. In der Nacht fast nicht möglich, ohne Anstoßen durchzukommen. Die angebotenen Kerzen brennen sehr rußig und machen eine schlechte Luft im Raum. Alles in allem ist der Aufenthalt das Geld nicht wert, das man zu bezahlen hat. Nebenbei hat der Gastgeber versucht, das Abendessen zwei mal zu verrechnen. Aufpassen bei der Rechnung, die einem zum Abendmahl als letzter Gang serviert wird! Unsere Empfehlung: Ein Tagesbesuch in Ait Ben Haddou reicht aus.

L'emplacement exceptionnel.

Incredible property right in old Ait BenHaddou. Loved the antique artifacts adorning the walls and the candlelight nights in the Kasbah. So atmospheric!

There is nothing to dislike about this property. If you don’t have an appreciation for history and being present with your travel companions, you might be challenged by mobile reception of limited power. Go me - this was a benefit rather than a drawback.

Wonderfully authentic . Situated in the Medina , across a river ( mule brought our bags). Lovely staff.

Het was echt een bijzondere en leuke ervaring om in de Kasbah zelf te overnachten met onze dochters van 9 en 12 jaar. Het diner met de kaarsen was heel sfeervol. En de gangen zijn mooi verlicht. De accomodatie zelf is natuurlijk basic, maar dat is onderdeel van de ervaring en daar hadden we ons op ingesteld. Op het terras buiten konden we heerlijk lezen in de zon aan het einde van de middag en de mensen zijn aardig.

Wunderschöne Lage und volle Stimmung einer Kasbah

Abendmenue war nichts besonderes, da man auch keine Auswahl treffen konnte ,Frühstück war sehr mittelmäßig. Die Unterkunft versucht mit Kerzen eine gewisse Stimmung zu vermitteln, sollte jedoch in den Zimmern für normale Beleuchtung Sorgen. Es fehlen einfach die Glühbirnen oder sind defekt. Betten sehr einfach gehalten und nur 1,9m lang.

De locatie en accommodatie zijn uniek. De kamer is door de bouw donker maar dit hoort bij het type gebouw. De kamer was schoon, voldoende handdoeken, bedden van prima kwaliteit. En je hoeft niet bang te zijn dat je wakker wordt door licht. De locatie in de vesting is natuurlijk ook geweldig.

Met onze noord-Europese gewoonten en ervaringen ervaarden wij de contactpersoon waar we het meest mee te maken hadden als bot en kortaf. Mogelijk dat dit een cultuur ding is. Wat we ook erg jammer vonden is het eten. Het is smakelijk maar voor ons, en met de ervaring op andere plaatsen in Marokko, waren de porties karig. Zowel qua diner als ontbijt. Hierbij vonden we prijs en kwaliteit/hoeveelheid niet in verhouding ook niet in relatie tot andere locaties in Marokko.

Amazing experience! Getting to stay in the old part of Ait Ben Haddou is very special! The hotel is candlelit with limited electricity but you can charge phones, turn on lights to use the bathroom, etc. Would very highly recommend doing the candle lit dinner! Probably the highlight of our stay there! Would definitely recommend!

The beds are pretty firm but otherwise no other complaints :)

A la nostra habitació no hi havia ni una sola llum, tot eren espelmes, no era fàcil veure res, encara que tenia molt d'encant...

Der Service sowie Frühstück und Abendessen lassen zu Wünschen übrig. Strom funktioniert nur teilweise, der Betrieb mit Kerzenlicht erscheint gefährlich.
