Kasbah El Hajja

Prachtige plek en zeer vriendelijke eigenaar. Door hier te verblijven konden we het stadje in alle rust verkennen ‘s morgens voordat de bussen met toeristen uit Marrakesh toekwamen. Airco werkt prima en avondeten erg lekker!

De gastheer was enorm vriendelijk, hij vertelt voluit over alle weetjes en feitjes over de films die opgenomen zijn. Je hebt geen gids nodig daar als je daar verblijft. Het is een prachtige locatie en super knus en gezellig aangekleed. Het eten is heerlijk!

Niets wat niet beviel! Het enige waar je rekening mee moet houden is dat er geen airco is en dat het dus enorm warm is ‘s nachts. Wij konden deuren tegen elkaar open zette waardoor het doorlucht maar je moet wel tegen warmte kunnen.

Nice hotel, right in the old part of Ait Benhaddou. Parking was about 10 minutes away but easy to find. The room was nice and comfortable. The location inside of the kasbah is good and the tourists dissapear in the evening. We loved watching the stars on the terrase. It is a really nice place.

We knew that the room didn't have an AC so it was hot at night. We also couldn't get the water to run hot so that was a second downside.

Everything was as described and as in photos. Quick hot water. Comfortable hard mattress&pillow. Quiet at night. Excellent location of the Kasbah in the heart of the Ksar. Delicious Moroccan breakfast&dinner. Hospitable staff. We had a very pleasant chat with the owner about local culture and he provided a lot of useful information. Thank you Aziz et al. for the uniquely authentic experience in a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Esperienza eccezionale all’interno del paese fortificato. La kasbah è bellissima, gli interni spettacolari. Il soggiorno ripaga il costo un po’ più alto rispetto a soluzioni al di fuori delle mura. Abbiamo cenato nel ristorante interno, piatti e servizio buoni. Circa 150 mad a testa. La nostra stanza aveva l’accesso alla terrazza, con vista spettacolare sulla valle e sulle abitazioni circostanti. Super consigliato.

We loved staying right in the centre of this stunning UNESCO protected Ksar. The building is beautiful with gorgeous decoration. Aziz looked after us beautifully and very kindly organised an early breakfast for us as we had to leave early to reach the airport. The coffee was the best we had in Morocco and they had prepared delicious fresh breads and eggs even though it was early. He also advised us on when and where we needed to be to enjoy the best views of the sunset and sunrise. Our room was very nice, there is no A/C but even though it was hot outside during the day it was comfortable at night with the window open. The terrace is large and pretty and we had a nice dinner there. You do have to park off the main road on the other side of the river and carry your bags - it is very rough path so not good for suitcases with wheels. But we had been advised when we booked to only bring what we needed because of that. We loved our stay there and would definitely recomend.

We were advised that parking was a distance away and we needed to carry bags and it is probably a 20 minute walk from parking. We hadn’t received directions to find the road but it is very easy. Walk across the bridge, turn right and keep walking straight!

Its location is amazing. A must stay to avoid crowds and get the true feel of the ancient village. The host and his sister go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay and the food is remarkably tasty. The best we have eaten in our 3 weeks traveling around the country.

We had the most amazing stay. Such a special accommodation, with the kindest host. The whole place is with so much attention to detail, in every corner and very clean! A place you have to book when going to Ait Benhaddou.

Deze locatie was de meest mooie en bijzondere van onze hele reis. En omdat het de enige slaapplek is daar, was het in de avond sprookjesachtig rustig in de ksar. Het ontbijt was ook voortreffelijk, net als het bed en de inrichting en het dakterras.

Wir waren rundum zufrieden und haben den Aufenthalt sowie die Abendessen sehr genossen. Die Betten sind sehr breit und bequem. Wir haben nichts auszusetzen. Die Dachterrasse ist ein besonderes Highlight. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Klare 10/10.

An ideal place to stay if you want to experience Ait Ben Haddou after the tourist crowds have gone. You live in a castle, it's not a normal hotel like accomodition. The food was very good (don't forget to book dinner in advance).

Arriving with a heavy suitcase is difficult; be sure to repack your belongings at the car beforehand and walk to the accommodation with just a backpack and bags (400m gravel, stairs, bumpy).

Well, you can’t talk about the place without talking about the warmth of the host - he is incredibly lovely and clearly cares about making sure you have a pleasant stay. We had dinner at the property and it was truly the best tagine we had during the two weeks we were in Morocco. This is a very unique place to stay - right in the heart of the kasbah. Perfectly located to watch the sunset in the mountains and the sunrise over the kasbah in the morning.

Nothing not to like, just be aware that as you’d expect of a building on such a historic site, bathrooms are not as modern as you may be accustomed to (but still perfectly fine!) and power outlets are limited to usb given the place runs on solar. Still, we thought it was a unique and memorable experience!

De lokatie, prachtige inrichting, dakterras, heerlijk bed, eten was ook goed, behulpzaam vriendelijke gastheer.

Er zijn wat technische dingen die aandacht nodig hebben in de kamer. Maar dat werd meteen opgelost. Maar als je in zo’n historisch oud pand wil slapen, op die plek dan neem je dat op de koop toe vind ik. Wij vinden dat geen probleem omdat we de sfeer, de plek, het goede eten belangrijker vinden!

Tolle Lage in der alten Stadt. Ein wirklich besonderes Erlebnis die alte Stadt abends im stockdunklen und früh morgens ohne Menschenmassen kennenzulernen. Das Zimmer ist süß eingerichtet - wirkt fast wie ein marokkanisches Puppenhaus.

Un séjour hors du temps à la Kasbah El Hajjar, au cœur du mythique Ksar d’Aït Ben Haddou. Nous avons été accueillis avec une grande chaleur et un sens du service remarquable. Le dîner était tout simplement excellent, mettant en valeur les saveurs locales. Le dépaysement est total dans ce cadre chargé d’histoire. Une expérience unique et inoubliable que nous recommandons vivement.

Riad unico nel cuore dell'antica ksar di ait ben haddou. La struttura è incredibile, meravigliosamente decorata e piena di dettagli della tradizione berbera, con una terrazza panoramica spettacolare sull'intera vallata. Il gestore è stato disponibile ad ogni nostra richiesta, consigliandoci l'ora giusta in cui salire sulla collina che sovrasta il paese per ammirare l'alba.

Il bagno era un po vecchio e necessiterebbe di un piccolo restauro.

Świetna lokalizacja, ładne stylowe wnętrze pokoju i całego obiektu, świetna obsługa. Wyjątkowo, uprzejmy, kontaktowy i pomocny personel. Blisko na spacer na zwiedzanie antycznej osady lub pobliskiego miasta, gdzie można zjeść, napić się herbaty lub obejrzeć mecz na TV z miejscowymi klientami.

Śniadanie typowe, mało urozmaicone i za bardzo na słodko, typowe dla regionu.

Es ist ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Erlebnis mitten in dieser alten Stadt zu übernachten. Es ist im traditionellen Stil eingerichtet, hat sogar eine „Grotte“, die als Aufenthaltsraum dient. Es gibt zwei wunderbare Terrassen, die einen Blick über die alte Stadt, das Tal und die neue Stadt bieten. Sonnenuntergang und Sonnenaufgang sind vom Hügel gegenüber am besten zu sehen. Das kann ich nur empfehlen, ist super magisch!

Es gibt Katzen direkt in der Unterkunft. Ja, in Marokko gibt es überall viele Katzen, das ist mir bewusst. Auf der Straße macht es mir auch nichts aus, aber im Gebäude und vor allem beim Essen ist es für mich als Allergikerin nicht so prickelnd. Als ich das aber erwähnt habe, wurden die Katzen (Mama mit 2 Kitten) nach draußen gebracht. Ich würde aber trotzdem immer wieder herkommen!!!

Superbe kasbah au cœur de Aït Ben Haddou, idéale pour profiter pleinement du charme du lieu dans un cadre calme et apaisant. La propreté est irréprochable et la terrasse panoramique offre une vue magnifique. Le propriétaire est souriant, accueillant et toujours à l’écoute, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Une adresse pleine de charme que je recommande avec plaisir.

Sehr authentisch und entsprechend der marokkanischen Kultur eingerichtet. Badezimmer und WC auch typisch marokkanisch mit nicht ganz nach oben / unten schließender Türe. Im Zimmer nur 2x USB Steckdose, kein Schuko etc. wegen UNESCO Status. Sollte man bedenken, war für uns kein Problem da wir darauf eingestellt waren. Dachterrasse super für Sternenhimmel beobachten und Nachtfotografie, da es vor Ort relativ wenig Lichtverschmutzung gibt. Parkplatz ca. 4-5min zu Fuß entfernt (beim Minarett im Ort an der Straße, ca. 20-30 Dirham), Empfehlung mit leichtem Gepäck anzureisen da der Fußweg mit großem/schweren Koffer beschwerlich sein kann (Schotter, viele Stufen). Frühstück einwandfrei und in ausreichender Menge vorhanden.

Nous avons été chaleureusement accueilli par Aziz et son équipe, dans cette maison extrêmement bien située et qui est un chef d’œuvre en soit ! Tout le monde est aux petits soins, le petit déjeuner et le dîner étaient délicieux, la chambre était confortable, et contrairement à ce que disent d’autres commentaires, pendant notre passage, le wifi fonctionnait et l’eau était chaude ! Bref, un séjour exceptionnel.

Amazing place! We weren’t sure were are we going. We arrived almost at sunset. We were impressed by the hospitality of Aziz. He made the visit an experience. We talked to him about history and traditions and culture. He welcomed us with tea and recommendations for good food place because we didn’t booked food in advance. The breakfast was good. And the coffee was super good. The rooms were very well made, very clean. There is running water, very good shower conditions and our room had private bathroom. The bed was comfortable. There weren’t outlets. But there is USB outlet in the room. Also in the common sitting area there is an outlet. The host will let you know in advance of this. Parking is around 5 min walking distance. It is better if you leave your luggage in the car and take only the necessary things in a bag. You park in front of the mosque and the parking is safe.

What a beautiful and unique place to stay. Beautifully decorated, unique and interesting spaces to hangout. A great rooftop to listen to music and look at the stars. Aziz was super helpful and very kind. We loved our stay here and would have liked to stay longer.

Prachtige locatie midden in de kassa. Handig om te weten dat je via de grote entree van het dorp naar binnen: dat is via de brug. Anders moet je 20 weer betalen om een dorp binnen te gaan.

De wifi was erg instabiel

Midden in de oude ksar ontdek je na een tocht door een doolhof van straatjes een wirwar van prachtig aangeklede 1001-nacht, halletjes, trapjes, zitjes en kamers. Wij hadden zelfs onze eigen in huis balkon. Op het dakterras raak je niet uitgekeken onder het genot van een lekker drankje van de vriendelijke eigenaar en oorspronkelijke bewoner en van het stadje.

This is a great place in Ait Benhaddou. You stay right in the old part of the city. The balcony has great views. The place is run on solar power. It's a bit of a walk from where you can drive, but it is not unpleasant. It has a very unique and cozy feel. I took a group of 10 people as I am a tour operator and we were all happy there. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Please be aware that some rooms do not have electrical outlets, but they provide a central charging station. I found this place charming, as did my group, but some might find it a bit of an inconvenience to walk from the road and the lack of outlets in the rooms

El Hajja is een prachtige locatie midden in de Kasbah. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam, de auto kan buiten de Kasbah (op loopafstand) geparkeerd worden tegen vergoeding, het ontbijt is ruim voldoende en de accomodatie ziet er prachtig uit! Wij raden het zeker aan, ook omdat het een bijzondere beleving is om in de Kasbah te verblijven in plaats van aan de overkant van de rivier.

Liegt mitten in der Kasbah. Nach Abfahrt der Tagestouristen entsteht eine unglaublich entspannte und ruhige Atmosphäre. Die authentische Ausstattung der Unterkunft passt richtig in das Gesamtensemble. Da die Unterkunft nur über eine Solaranlage als einzige Stromquelle verfügt, gibt es keine Steckdosen, für das Aufladen von Mobiltelefonen ist man jedoch bestens ausgestattet.

WiFi wackelt etwas, aber man vermisst es auch nicht wirklich, es würde nicht in diese Welt passen.

Everything ! The location, in the middle of the historical Ait benhaddou village with a wonderful view. You can’t access it with your cae, u have to leave the car on the modern part of Ait Benhaddou and walk through the gate (there some people who can help with luggage at a reasonable price, just ask the parking attendant). The Kasbah was cosy, very original, unconventional structure (like a maze) it’s a monument to visit in itself. Aziz was our host, very very kind, available, and full of ideas and good advices. Diner was delicious (you have to book it in advance so they can prepare), breakfast is good too. We would deeeefinitely come back !

Mis dieces para este maravilloso kasbah con mucho encanto en el mismo ait ben haddou. El dueño nos ha tratado como de su familia. Nos hemos sentido como en casa.

Emplacement en plein cœur de Ait Ben Haddou ce qui est un vrai privilège. La kasbah est magnifique, plein de petits recoins, très bien décorée. Les chambres sont spacieuses, la literie confortable, la propreté irréprochable. Très belle vue depuis la terrasse. Très agréable !

Nous étions prévenues mais effectivement le trajet à pieds avec les bagages depuis la ville nouvelle jusqu'à la Kasbah, est sportif. Mieux vaut le savoir ! Peu (voire pas) d'eau chaude pour se doucher. En dehors de l'heure du diner, pas de personnel, pas de bar. C'est dommage, on se faisait une joie de se désaltérer ou de boire un thé depuis la terrasse avant ou après le repas. Nous avons été un peu déçues par le diner (il faut dire qu'on a très bien mangé tout au long de notre séjour au Maroc). Wifi inefficace.

Nous avons été très chaleureusement accueillis dans cette kasbah authentique du ksar. Une expérience hors du commun.

Deze unieke kasbah ligt op een zeer unieke locatie met een zeer rijke cultuur en geschiedenis. De mensen zijn zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij hebben buiten gegeten dus daar kunnen we niet veel over oordelen. De badkamer was basic maar paste geheel binnen het concept en zeer proper. voor ons was dit een absoluut onverwachte parel. Een van de meest unieke plekken waar we ooit gelogeerd hebben. Een absolute aanrader, zelfs met kinderen.

De locatie is prachtig en de host is erg vriendelijk.

De douche was niet heel warm maar niet gek op zo’n locatie!

The location of this hotel is simply sensational. Being right in the Kasbah gives a truly unique base to explore Ait Ben Haddou. At the end and start of the day you can beat the crowds who are yet to arrive and take full advantage of the best light of the day to see this majestic place. Aziz was so welcoming and attentive. We loved it.

The room was a great size and super quaint. We had access to a shared (us and a couple of other rooms) balcony. We had green tea and just soaked in the views. It is unlike anywhere else.

Our host was wonderful, and staying at the kasbah was truly a unique experience. It is one of only two inhabited dwellings in the old part of the village, which makes the setting feel very special. Walking through the village at night was a surreal and memorable experience. A small nearby hill offers a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise, while the top of the village is perfect for sunset views. Dinner was delicious and left us wishing for more.

The hot water was a bit fidgety, but nothing that could not be managed. Whist parking is not to far; it is easier if you dont carry too much luggage.

Wir waren für eine Nacht in der Kasbah El Hajja und fanden den Aufenthalt super. Schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Ein toller Ausblick von der Dachterasse. Der Hausherr war super freundlich und hat uns auch einige gute Tipps gegeben. Wir haben Abendessen dazu gebucht, welches sehr, sehr lecker war.

The owner was so kind and calm, we could feel safe and relaxed especially after driving from Marrakech. Dinner, especially chicken Tajine was the best Tajine I’ve ever had in this trip :) To see the sunrise from the hill on the opposite side is a must!
