We had a really pleasant and relaxing stay at GRT Great Trails, Kodaikanal. The food was delicious, and the staff were extremely courteous and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention to Ms. Nadhiya from the Front Desk, who made the booking, check-in and check-out absolutely hassle-free. She was always approachable and helpful, and is definitely an asset to the hotel. Mr. Pandey also deserves a special mention for arranging a sightseeing tour for us at very short notice. He went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable stay. If you are looking for a relaxing resort stay in Kodaikanal, GRT Great Trails is definitely worth trying. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again.

Great Trails Kodaikanal stood out for many reasons beyond location, rooms, hospitality, and service...1. Pets - beautifully and cleanly kept birds near reception area, 4 lovely rabbits near amphitheatre, and a majestic white horse with nearly groomed pony tail. 2. Unique Experiences - (i) kids can enjoy zip line, horse ride, spending time with pets and (ii) guests can also explore nearby farms, request for arranging farm fresh vegetables and fruits for buying harvest to home when they checkout, and more importantly while staying on a Sunday can opt for additional activity of visiting sunday market to buy unique Kodai purchases like nei milagai-a variety of chilli pepper with a ghee aroma when cooked, kandhari birs eye chilli, red radish, pears, GI tagged Kodai Malai Poondu (hill garlic) ... hotel staff can guide good buys and even give many great recipes to incorporate them...3. don't hesitate to request chefs for dishes made from local produces like beet and beet greens...despite the challenge of specific time when I visited due to road closure their team worked beyond their normal and ensured guests comfort is never compromised...Spa was very nice...so many of their staff impressed me... Housekeeping Alrin and Ramganesh, Balakumar...Prakash from Engg & Maintenance...F&B Ramu, Senthamizhan, Nethaji, Kim, Riwaldo and Shantharaj...Chefs Venkatesh and Yuvraj...front office Hari and Nathiya...and their all-in-all Elango and you find him everywhere...and their leadership by charming GM Arun Raj...who hears out issues and acts on what can be done to fix the problem...overall a great value for our time, experience, and money...pl note expansion work is going on and some rooms might hear construction noise but hotel tries to keep it to minimal and only to day time...noise from kitchen exhaust every now and then might reach some rooms and hotel is working to minimise it...view from some rooms are better than others...and it's a personal preference...

We stayed as a family for 2 days at GRT and it was absolutely wonderful. The property is beautiful with an amazing view that we woke up to every morning! Like walking on the grass with amazing sunlight! But what made it truly special was the hospitality. The staff were so warm and attentive, they made us feel like part of their own family. From check-in to check-out, nothing was too much trouble. We also loved the amazing activities available inside the campus! Specially the guided nature walk ❤️ There was something to keep everyone entertained, from kids to adults. It never felt boring for a single minute. Overall, a perfect family getaway. Loved every bit of our stay. Thank you GRT for the memories!

A must visit property. We travelled along with our pet and had an amazing experience. The staff is extremely good and caring, the food is excellent. The stay here was great that we didnt even go outside. The staff esp Mr. Bala was so courteous and friendly. Such a serene atmosphere. Must visit for parents with a child.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The food was excellent, the staff were warm and courteous, and the rooms were comfortable with lovely views. On those aspects alone, this would easily have been a 5/5 experience. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by the way a customer complaint was handled. We were without Wifi for over 24 hours, and despite raising the issue multiple times, there was little communication, no meaningful updates, and no sense of urgency. It took escalating the matter to the General Manager before we received any proper response. Technical issues can happen at any hotel, but what matters is how they are managed. The lack of communication and poor handling of the situation left a disappointing final impression on what was otherwise an excellent stay.

Greattrails by GRT is an excellent place to unwind and relax. They have very spacious suites , clean and comfortable beds and great room service. Room services fulfills all your requests in under 5 minutes and that is remarkable given the terrain of the property. They run golf carts within the property to help guests move around. I would absolutely recommend this place. The valley view around the property is serene. The staff at the property are super helpful and courteous and always greet and server you with a smile. Coming to the activities - bonfire with music in the evenings, play bunnies, pool table, foosball, table tennis, carromboard and chess keep young and old occupied and entertained. The in house restaurant offers top notch food starting with an expansive breakfast buffet comprising of South Indian classics and other continental items. The staff at the restaurant always serve with a huge smile. Kudos to all the staff. The dinner buffet is an awesome spread of north and South Indian food with a huge dessert menu. Overall we had a memorable vacation. I would absolutely recommend this place.

Second time in 2026 June: This was my second time at GRT Kodaikanal, and it still feels like the best spot in Kodai for a slow, peaceful escape. The Timber Valley rooms are pure magic, especially waking up to that valley view. A big thank you to Arun sir, Prabhu sir, and Bala Kumar sir for making it extra special with an early check-in. Breakfast was lovely, and Whiskers Cafe’s à la carte for dinner was just perfect. The rooms, the view, that little garden out front… everything made it feel like home. GRT, you’ve got my heart. I know where I’ll be staying every time I’m in Kodai. It’s just that if you planning for leisure and chill with not much of travel outside to tourists spots can consider this! If not then stay one day here and one day in the city some where else! Kodai + GRT = always coming back.

And this is not just one person, or few people, but feels like a culture embedded within. Lovely spread of breakfast, with options for all types of people including health freaks like me. The best place I’ve stayed in the whole 3day trip. we stayed in 3 different places but this was the best place we chose. We went for the cafe for dinner but i insisted my wife to stay the night have the best breakfast and good stay turned out to be the best place we stayed on the whole trip

Great Property, Not so big, may be over all rooms less than 60, not overcrowded. Away from the city centre. Calm and serene. Ala carte was great, not so much impressed with buffer breakfast (no. of items are okay, but not upto expectations).

Very nice property. It is value for money. This was our second property from GRT that we stayed in during our trip and the quality and service levels were excellent and consistent. The location is little far from main town and approach road is narrow but that' what is normal in most of the hill stations. Very peaceful and clean surroundings. We stayed in Timber Chalets and they are very spacious to easily accomodate a family of 3-4. Restaurant has a good view, breakfast is okay but bakery spread definitely needs major improvement. The bakery spread in their Wayanad property were much better. We also ordered Ala-carte for dinner but it did not leave an impression. I will give 5 star rating for everything except for food which i will rate 3.5

GRT was introduced to me by Mr. Arun, currently the General Manager of Great Trails, about 10 years ago. Since then, I have been regularly staying at all GRT group hotels in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru. GRT is famous for its hospitality, and I must say Arun has been doing a great job leading the team. Prabhu has been excellent, and Karupananan, during his time as MOD, took great care of us. Elango, the HR Manager, ensured we were well looked after during breakfast. Shantaraj is a multitasking star who always fulfilled our requests promptly. We ordered a cake for my wife’s birthday, which was amazing, so we ordered another the next day due to its excellent taste—kudos to the chef! Whenever we needed help, Prasanth was always there to assist us immediately.
