The views, The Staff was amazing, from start to finish, made it perfect. The breakfast OMG WOW! Kelly and Alisha are a massive credit to you guys. Definitely be booking again and trying out the other rooms next time lol
One thing just the bed being against the wall, makes it awkward getting to loo in middle of the night lol. Other than that absolutely nothing.
The area/village was peaceful, scenic, different. The pub, rooms and building was exceptional. Room was small but adequate and cosy, with the addition of a mini bar. Staff were helpful and happy. Good value for money, including a continental breakfast with a view to take your breath away steeped in history.
Hangers for clothes would have been useful.
Beautiful setting Lovely food in the evening Lots of character Attentive staff
Depending on what time you arrive parking can be a bit difficult
Friendly staff, great food and confortable room with a fantastic view!
I loved the location. The staff were fantastic.
I wasn't told what breakfast times were and I was unable yo have breakfast because it was quiet a late start at 9am.
Fantastic position with wide ranging views and a lovely beer garden. Tower room was lovely with a good bathroom but hot in this heatwave.
For the price the steak was adequate but not great. Be aware that there is no cooked breakfast available before 1000 and we needed to leave at 0900. Disappointing but continental breakfast was nice
Third time we have stayed there, always a great welcome. Lovely accommodation with stunning (seriously stunning) views. Excellent evening meal.
It may just be naivety on my part, but having been offered table water to discover, when the bill came, it was £5:00 per bottle was a bit of a surprise. The steps to the accommodation might be tricky for some but we managed fine.
Location
Disappointed with restaurant service and food to be honest.
kaffebar, freundliches Personal, bett I.o.
Fenster nicht zu öffnen, muffig und feucht. Man kann das Zimmer anbieten aber definitiv nicht für den Preis. enttäuschend
Excellent breakfast in a a dining room with a fantastic view . Staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and clean. Beautiful beer Gardena nanda terrace with stunning views. Great location if attending a wedding at Primrose Farm .
Shower difficult to regulate.
View
Unfortunately not much. Wasn’t anything what was on the pictures. From the beginning wasn’t right. The room what I booked wasn’t what we had. ( only because just one night stayed) I haven’t said anything. Very uncomfortable bed , not clean and definitely need some tlc. Nice view..and that’s all.
Lovely property, fantastic views.
The room we had was rather on the small side and good have maybe been a little cleaner. Double bed tucked up against the wall, so getting out at night was extremely difficult. Especially for someone in their late 70’s!
Nothing....Pathetic...no cooked breakfast available until 10am...no mention of this when booking
The extravagant charge for the cheese board...a 10% service on total bill which included a charge on drinks value £34:00 when collected from the bar
Friendliness
Nothing
Excellent views, lovely friendly staff
Limited parking
The location, setting and views were excellent. Staff were ever so friendly and attentive.
The continental breakfast could be improved
Great breakfast Great food evening meal
Bed was so uncomfortable plus pillows. Very disappointing
Great setting. Quirky accommodation and relaxed atmosphere
Bathroom needs a bit of tlc
The character of it , the location, the staff were wonderful , my daughter stayed also with her friends the night before her wedding and it was perfect ,
Nothing to dislike !
It’s location was stunning overlooking the battlefield great outside dining superb Sunday lunch our room had everything we needed the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful nothing seemed to much bother and the local beer was awesome
There wasn’t anything to dislike
Exceptional breakfast, superb staff
Bed a bit worn
Lovely, cosy character room in the turret of the castle. Great facilities and the comfiest bed. The pub has a great menu, food was amazing
Fabulous stay. Wonderful place, excellent food, lovely staff
Nothing at all
Lovely place to stay with wonderful views if u stay in the castle tower…bed was comfortable but too drunk to perform on the missis 😜
Breakfast was a let down, if you want cooked food that’s after 10 am .. so we had to put bread in the toaster.. and selections of bit of cheese and ham.. an some ham .. no marmite.. no staff around.. found him in the bar , I think they could excel this into a top draw venue.
Beautiful castle in lovely surroundings, comfortable and clean room, staff very nice.
Having stayed in lots of castles over the years, I felt that whilst the rooms were reasonably priced, the food and drink was quite expensive.
Nice views. Continental brekky was nice.
Bathroom needed a little decorative tidy up
We had a great stay at the Castle for a local wedding. Having contacted them beforehand we were able to check in early and get access to one of the rooms to get ready. Lovely location, view and beer garden - we wish we had stayed longer to enjoy it all. The free continental breakfast was also appreciated!
WiFi wasn’t available. Since there is also no reception, if good WiFi can be made available
Location was nice with good views
Having to ask for bedding for a sofa bed at 10pm. None was left (having booked a room with 2 beds I would expect linen for both) apparently I should have made it clear I wanted sheets beforehand ?? No staff on site and no one answering calls on the emergency contact line or responding to texts, 24 hours later and they still haven’t called me back / acknowledged a missed call / text. Abruptly told they were closed when we arrived at 6.30pm We needed to check in. They did check us in but wasn’t the warmest of greetings after a long drive. 1 fan for a suite on the hottest night of the year. Only 3 windows out of 7 opened Pillowcase had make up on.
Pub with rooms in a characterful 18th century mock castle. Fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Bar with good food and beer; restaurant with an unexpectedly imaginative menu. And a lovely outdoor area for good weather.
Lovely stay, amazing view from our bedroom & delicious breakfast (again with an amazing view). Stayed for a nearby wedding and it worked out well.
Unusual to sleep in a castle ( even if it is a folly). Stunning views and really good food. Exceeded our expectations.
Location, castle feeling, walks around and staff working there.

A lovely place to stay, very helpful staff with a delicious breakfast served overlooking an amazing view! Can definitely recommend!
The castle was beautiful, the location very pretty
We were put in the tower. The steps leading up to the tower were treacherous! With just a rope to hold on too, which was falling off the wall!! The shower in the room didn't work! We told the staff but they weren't interested. They said it was normal to have water issues. There was no apologies. The continental breakfast was poor and the cooked breakfast was poor.
Quirky , in a fab location , thoroughly enjoyed the tapas and jazz evening , very comfy bed
Pillows a bit solid for my taste
Superb location
Beautiful building with the best views especially from our room up in the tower. Staff couldn’t do enough, friendly and approachable.
I would say if you have any mobility issues like myself, the stairs in the tower were a bit of a challenge, but it totally fits in with the property.
The overall stay ,room, pub, restaurant, breakfast .and the views
Not staying another night , was booked up 🤗
Nice and clean and most staff was very helpful. Beautiful place
Wifi kept dropping and did not have smart tv. Not really anything to complain about just makes life easier when traveling for business
Characterful and historic castle remains, blissfully quiet with incredible views (we stayed in the Kings Room), outstanding food in the restaurant and great continental breakfast included - super friendly staff
The suite we stayed in was the best I have stayed in . It was large, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The location has amazing views and the staff was welcoming. I would definitely recommend.
A lovely place to stay, and the breakfast was very good, and the staff were very friendly
Character property.
Probably not suitable for those with mobility problems but you can see this before you book.
Lovely comfortable room, convenient location for edgehill. Amazing view and very friendly helpful staff
Fantastic room, fantastic staff and fantastic food, we will be back
All was great
The building and interior is lovely. The restaurant food was excellent. Overall the accommodation was good. Good location for Warwick, Stratford and other places of interest.
Our mattress was a bit worn and not entirely comfortable. The breakfast was nice, but the croissants would have been nicer if they had been fresh that morning. Would have liked another couple of teabags! Overall, though, it didn't impact unduly on our experience.
Excellent location with amazing views from the restaurant. The room was interesting and quirky. The evening meals were very good.
The shower pressure was very weak, but I presume it was because of the location of the room. It was a shame that we couldn't enjoy a breakfast in the dining room. There was a very small choice of cereals and preserves. And the croissants were dry because they weren't fresh. Eating breakfast on the bed wasn't great. A continental breakfast in the dining room with more choice and a toaster would have been better.
The novelty of the room, the castle and the location.
Room required a little bit of tlc. Some mould in the bathroom and a cluster of lady birds had taken up residence too.
Feel like a princess living in a castle
The breakfast was served around 10 am
Views were good.
Shocking food Shocking beds and staff service terrible Made a complaint and been ignored
The staff were great, very welcoming. We loved the Gin tasting experience. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the chocolate mousse was exceptional. Our room was huge and super clean.
Fruit bowl had rotting items in it which was a shame but clearly just a tiny issue.
We stayed in the Cromwell suit it is stunning and was perfect for our little get away.
Setting, period features, quirkiness of staying in a “castle”
Steps! Nothing can be done though, to get that view you need to climb up high!
Historic nature, it’s a castle we stayed in a castle. On arrival very friendly welcoming, had a table ready for us. Such a lovely room. The views are beautiful. The food was delicious. We had the burger it was homemade and the flavours were mouth watering. Would stay again.
The mattress was springy
The historic building
Nothing
nice location, good dining food.
poor breakfast included in the room price. hot meal non available before 10h00.
Didn’t try in restaurant, in apartment breakfast was ok.
Staff were all very friendly, it was nice to have a continental type breakfast avaliable in the room. Overall it had what you might need such as a hairdryer and iron etc.
Bed wasn't the comfiest, bed dipped in the middle when you got into it.
The breakfast was lovely
continental breakfast (yummy box in room + food in fridge) was delicious and with broad options that allowed us to all find something to eat despite dietary restrictions
had a double room, one bed i found quite uncomfortable (was quite hard) but this could just be my preference
Was not aware prior to booking that breakfast was left in room
Cooked breakfast option would have been nice. Rope banister not very safe up narrow steep stairs
The food was amazing
The room was a little warm but it was exceptionally warm weather so wasn't anything that could have been done to change this.
The property was extremely clean and staff friendly and polite. Food excellent,
The only minor comment I would make is the electric shower did not have sufficient water power.
Lovely rooms , staff made you feel welcome , food was excellent the beer even better
Nothing not to like
Staff and location
We received too many emails before we got there, but then, better too many than too few.... This IS a very minor criticism, we really enjoyed our stay and thoroughly recommend the hotel. So, as you can see, this hotel receives praise even in a box labelled "What didn't you like?"!
Just the castle looking!
Very poor management and unacceptable service. I paid extra for a room with a sofa bed, yet no bedding was provided. This completely defeats the purpose of booking a sofa bed. There were also no towels in the room until I specifically requested them.
I liked the uniqueness of staying in a tower of a castle.
quick business visit, great clean quirky room, lovely breakfast box, was there on steak night, very good value and great steaks
all good
The location is outstanding, as was the room, with a 4-poster bed and stunning views from the window. The Christmas meal was delicious and the service prompt and friendly.
The initial welcome: "The bar is closed!" instead of "Can I help you?" Also the croissants for our continental breakfast in the room were missing. They were brought after request. Quite possibly the time of year accounted for this (Christmas Eve) and the fact that bar staff double as reception
Evening meal and breakfast was fantastic. Room was really quirky and private. Great facilities including a fridge in our room.
The bed mattress was a little tired.
Friendly staff, good food, great location, fun quirky building
Beautiful property remote location . Staff excellent!
The beautiful historical features, the stunning view. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
Bar manager was incredibly welcoming made me feel like a regular straight away, when asked about the cider hi had he could reel off every answer to every question i had, the room was impeccable. i stay in allot of pubs for work and this is by far the best yet.
everything was perfect couldn't fault a single thing
Beautiful setting, stunning rooms, great restaurant, all the little extra touches in our room were beautiful. We had an amazing stay.
Great views and excellent bar and restaurant areas with food and drinks to match
Rooms can be a bit noisy if you have people staying above as floors creak and are not soundproofed.
Wonderfully adapted listed building. Cosy
Nothing
Absolutely stunning building, room was spotless, food incredible, cocktails great, staff brilliant
Nothing
Lovely hidden Gem
Shower could be more powerful.
We stayed here on our wedding night (we got married at Primrose Hill Farm) and the staff were so accommodating with arranging earlier collection of our keys in the morning. The rooms are beautifully done, spotlessly clean, incredible views, very considered drinks making facilities and wonderful food. We are local and so familiarly with the pub/restaurant, and were even pleasantly surprised with how lovely the rooms are!
Couldn’t fault! Though access to some rooms could be tricky for those less mobile as quite steep steps out to our room in one of the towers, which we loved! But worth checking in advance if this would be an issue
Excellent property, very accommodating staff. Beautifully appointed rooms in an ancient castle. Lovely breakfast
Beautiful location. Stayed there on a bed and breakfast basis and was very comfortable. Appreciated the complimentary drinks and fruit etc provided. Lovely breakfast menu choices with a fabulous view from dining area.
