Homely, family type hotel, excellent food in the main restaurant, lovely garden around the pool area to relax in the sun, really enjoyed having a balcony off our room to sit and have our morning coffee!

A really nice hotel; the staff are lovely. We thought the breakfast was very good.

The bedroom doors need to be made quieter. They slam shut, making it very noisy; not ideal when you are trying to sleep!

Fantastic hotel. We stayed for a wedding at the hotel. Wonderful service and great food. Indoor and outdoor heated pool were a treat!!

The room was hot even though a fan was in the room, I wouldn't want to be in that room in the middle of the summer although the view over the pool was very nice and unexpected !

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay! Very comfortable room. Staff are very friendly and always helpful. Breakfast was delicious- lot's of choice and staff were very good, despite being very busy.

It was a wonderful stay - have stayed here before and will be back soon!

Good location and staff we spoke to were nice.

There were so many large black flies flying around and landing on us (more and more as the stay went on) that we couldn’t sleep properly and had to sleep with the duvet over our heads. It was really hard to relax in there so we stayed out as much as possible. There was also music playing until 1am which made it difficult to sleep as we could hear it through the walls. The walls are really thin so you could hear any noise in the corridors - including a lot of chat from housekeeping staff.

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children sharing a room. When we put up the sofa bed the room was very cramped. As ever extra cushions that had to be put in wardrobe. Couldn’t open balcony door as sofa bed was the blocking the door.

The AC was a portable unit which was ok but not worth the upgrade. Toilet wasn’t cleaned properly and had urine around the toilet lid hinge when putting the seat up.

We were unable to use the indoor pool. Because the hotel is also a Health club the regular members were in as soon as it opened. We had to leave early so couldn't get in as the pool capacity is only limited.. We always pay more for a pool facility so this was disappointing.

All the staff were amazing especially Freya, but I felt Anya a Manager I believe was rude when Nico was helping me.

Pools were way to hot to swim in and rooms were also too hot, on arrival the curtains were open with windows shut and blazing hot sun in room, was difficult to get room cool to sleep in, but staff did there utmost to make me comfortable. Shower over bathroom was heavy to hold as ive arthritis in both hands and way to powerful pressure was aggressive. Difficult place to navigate, Sat Nav sent me to the back of Hotel!! Its tucked round behind an industrial site. Doors were too heavy and no auto on entering from car park to reception near stairs , no lifts but I have to say all staff bar one were amazing and very helpful.

main room was bit dingy as the main lights were too bright the restaurant seemed a bit short-staffed but the whole experience was okay the screaming kids got a little under my skin in the end

The gardens and pools were great. The balconies were a lovely touch. The staff are a delight. It's very close to the Tarka Trail.

The bed linen is poly-cotton and very itchy. The lighting on the balcony is on a timer (they go off at midnight) and the room is very bright when the lights are on.

Quirky. Very clean, room was great; couch, plenty of space and storage. Fridge. Excellent breakfast. Lovely staff.

The indoor pool is very relaxing the setting is calming. The outdoor pool is like being Abroad with the sunloungers and parasols. Beautiful . The staff are very helpful at reception. Everyone is polite wherever you are in the hotel.

Nothing that I didn't like. I do think you would benefit more staying here with a car if you wanted to explore surroundings we came by train. We didn't get to the beach its a 20mins bus ride each way We did walk to the centre done some shopping. That 10 mins each way. We were happy to stay by the pools. 😊

Lovely pool nice area

The room was a small and dark corner room with no light and a tiny window, it was suffocating at night so we only stayed 2 night instead of 3, although we paid for 3. The other rooms looked nice though, larger with doors to outside and views.

That the room was advertised on booking.com as having air conditioning and it didn’t. The staff assured me they would make sure this was changed. They gave me another room that was cooler.

The pools, both indoor and out were small but fantastic for the kids and to cool down after travelling. They also enjoyed the free use of the pool table and we all appreciated the nice breakfast. Staff, particularly at the restaurant were very friendly and we enjoyed the convenience of eating on site. There is a nice walk/ run behind the hotel along the river.

The shared double room with two kids was a little bit cramped. Adding another room would have doubled the price so we didn’t as we were already paying more than we usually would for a night, although breakfast was included. The pool is lovely but shared with a lot of people from the surrounding area that have membership.

The location was good, nica bar area, room was big enough, had a coffe / tea table and a little fridge, geeat for our drinks and fruit. And it also had an Air con which was necesity as we were there when the heat wave was kicking in.

That Air con was working, but it could have been better, saying that it was OK as we had it together with a fan..

Los camas eran muy comodas y la limpieza era perfecta. Las piscinas nos gustaron aunque la foto de la piscina outdoor escengañosa puesto qué en foto parece grande y en realidad es Una piscina muy pequeña y sin profundidad.( Publicidad engañosa). Las chicas en recepcion eran amables. El hotel tenia un aspecto contemporaneo y moderno. En general hotel bien cuidado y de aspecto limpio.

No hay ascensor, si tienes problema de rodilla, viajas con niños o eres de avanzada edad te sera dificil subir y bajar las escaleras a las habitaciones superiores. Tampico cuentan con Aire acondicionado en los cuartos,era horroroso el calor ,la temperatura en cuarto era de 30 grados. Cada vez Los veranos son mas extensos y calurosos en Inglaterra, deberian adaptarse al siglo XXI. El cuarto contaba con un pequeño ventilador de muy Baja potencia qué ni aire daba. El ruido del Camion de la basura, paraba justo abajo del cuarto a las 7 de la mañana por mas de 10 minutos y con el olor a basura ya qué habia qué dormir con la ventana abierta por el calor Los olores entraron al cuarto. El agua de ambas piscinas estaba demasiado caliente, era como bañarse en sopa. Tampoco habia ninguna ducha exterior en ninguna de las piscinas para ducharse antes de entrar a la piscina...la gente se metia a la piscina sudorosa o con pies sucios ( un asco). Podias ducharte en el changing room ,bastante lejos de las piscinas ..... La sala de juegos juveniles era una sauna, Todo acristalado y cerrado. Tampoco me gusto el personal del bar Pedi una bebida alcoholica qué costaba 5 Libras, la chica me cobro 11.50 Libras cuando le reclame, la chica me dijo se confundio en el precio pero en ningun momento se disculpo conmigo, despues llamo al manager para hacerme la devolucion correspondiente y tambien se confundio en el importe , cuando le corregi para qué pusiera la diferencia correcta, no me puso buena cara.... tampoco se disculpo conmigo.

Very happy with everything. the pools are lovely, everything clean, very comfortable bed, great breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. Could not ask for more.

Having a pool was lovely in the hot weather although it was quite small and could get crowded. The garden area for guests was a nice touch. The room was nice and the bed was comfy. The food served in the bar was great and very tasty.

The location wasn’t fantastic almost like being on a retail park which was a shame. The hotel decor was a bit tired and could do with a spruce up.

The location was strange, but all in all staff was nice and friendly , the hotel room was a bit small , I liked their decor but it needed touching up. It does reflect the cost so it was good.

Great location on Tarka Trail, of which we cycled 23 return miles. Easy walk to Barnstaple Town Centre. Two super swimming pools (indoor & outdoor) and well equipped gym. Good restaurant and bar area with meals (we had excellent dishes both nights in the latter). Spacious free car park.

Would have liked more cocktails on the menu. Rated down slightly on cleaning as there was a dirty spoon on the tea tray on arrival and a dirty mark on bathroom floor, looked like spilt coffee.

Не очень поняли почему кухня ресторана не работает до 6 во время того как люди находятся на заказанном обеде и так как мой английский не очень то мы и не поняли как и когда нужно было его заказать муж был злой от голода и заказать его на месте после начала уже нельзя

This hotel offered such great comfort and facilities. The staff were beyond welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Due to bad camping conditions we booked this hotel last minute and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to us. 100% recommend this hotel!

It was clean and the managerial staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel was set in an industrial site and our first room that we had to stay for night overlooked the car park and it was only when we complained that we were moved to a more suitable room. Further, the staff at the reception were unfriendly, made little or no eye contact which made us feel very unwelcome. Whilst we had booked to stay for 7 days, due to the fact that we found the hotel rather underwhelming, we decided to leave a day early.

Gute Lage, sehr schön zu Fuss in City zu laufen. Zimmer o.k. Türen knallten immer laut zu, tags und nachts. Tolles Fitneß und Pools. Restaurant fein.

The property was very clean and modern with fantastic facilities.

There should be an adult only area in the bar and at breakfast. Children sat watching loud iPads at the table. Very distracting and heard to hear partner sat opposite.

Upon arrival, the reception staff were not welcoming. They did not acknowledge or greet us when we entered the reception area, which created a poor first impression. The cleanliness standards were also lacking, particularly in the toilets, which were not clean. In addition, the air conditioning stopped working during our stay. Despite checking in after 3:00 PM, one of our rooms had not yet been serviced and was not ready upon arrival. To make matters worse, the toilet in that room was not flushing properly. Overall, the lack of hospitality, cleanliness issues, and room maintenance problems negatively impacted our experience.

Welcome at reception; room was a good size, clean, comfortable, quiet and had a personal atmosphere. Spa and sports facilities excellent. Bar and restaurant also very good. All the staff work as a team and couldnt do enough to make your stay enjoyable.

The location is slightly out of town, but they cannot do anything about that. With a car it is easily accessible.

Bar was shut at 9:30 pm. Breakfast was unavailable after 9:30am. No facilities available for late arrival guests, but prompt departure at 11am still required. AC unit in bedroom, portable apoliance after fit, restricted access to bed. It could not be adjusted by remote or locally. No staff available overnight to assist. For the price, poor location, restricted time use of facilities, and tiny room even for a premium I do not recommend. Brend hotels have a monolopy in Barnstaple and are ridiculously priced for what you receive. Stay here as a last resort.
