Comfortable, clean room with a nice view, especially being at the front of the hotel. The breakfast was really good too, with plenty of choice on the menu. I would definitely return!

The bedroom was perfect and comfortable . Bathroom very good do like the soap dispencers. I have stayed with you before and always get a good nights sleep.

Food was well presented. Staff pleasant and were helpful when they could be. More hospitality training would be beneficial.

Room was disappointing considering the cost. Tired decor with poor quality furniture. Toiletries were basic all lacking quality. No advance warning that a wedding was booked whilst I was staying. This event meant as ‘a hotel guest’ my access to three areas were ‘out of bounds.’ No garden access, no library and no first floor lounge in which to relax. There is no designated vape zone, if it rains you simply get wet.

Great location and good room - and lovely breakfast with freshly cooked food. We also had a good meal in the bar the day we arrived.

Parking isn't great - when we first arrived we couldn't get in either in front of the hotel or the car park across the road - OK for us as then moved when a space became available but not a good experience.

The hotel was well staffed by friendly and accommodating people. It was perfectly located for us as we were married just over the bridge

We paid for a suite and although it was clean the sink in the bay was badly cracked, the shower door handle was broken with a part missing. The small window in the shower room was stuck with presumably rusted hinges so it was unable to be opened any further or closed. The sash window in the lounge area was also broken and a piece of wood had been provided to wedge it open. It was only 23 degrees that day but the room was stifling all night. A single fan was provided but the fan speed control switch was broken and missing. The bedside lamps were still fitted with older style low energy bulbs. Other bulbs had been changed to LED ones. We had paid a high price £250 ISH for a single night) for a suite for our wedding night and were disappointed that the facilities didn't match what should be expected. Very disappointed.

A very pleasant stay. Garden was very enjoyable especially with the old fashioned carriages on display. Breakfast was a very high standard. All staff friendly and informative.

The duvets were too thick for this hot weather Parking was not the best for disabled people with the main car park on the opposite side of the road.

Central location and friendly staff - in the main

Car parking can be a pain. One minor complaint my wife went for breakfast and waited an hour to be served and it wasn't that busy. One woman totally ignored her so much so that other guests stepped in. I would say that was completely different to my own experience a few hours earlier. The prior evenings meal the waiter could t do enough to help

Central and easily walkable to the beaches. Summerleaze being the nearest and then Crooklets about a 15 minute walk away. I booked a single room but had a double bed, nice touch. Clean serviced rooms and a great shower. Fabulous breakfast and a great selection of hot and cold food.

I ate with family in the bar and grill but as it was busy we were in the back room. The room itself felt like a forgotten space. It wasn’t as nice as the main bar area and we tended to get forgotten about for service. Also the room was exceeded hot, even with the window open. The fan helped so thank you, by I could never turn it off for long enough.

The location was perfect, within 5 minutes walk to the beach and the food was fabulous.

The room overlooked the outside bar area which wasn’t mentioned when booking a sea view room. The room has been renovated but the furniture hadn’t which was a shame because this let the room down slightly.

Location was fantastic, very central. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff were very attentive, we enjoyed the waitress that was singing to the background music!!

One night wasn’t enough!

Good breakfast room with plenty of choice. Room size was very comfortable. Staff were very pleasant Good location to beach and canal for walks.

The restaurant under cooked the vegetables, and fish was served with entire bones throughout. On our stay, there was always either a wedding, funeral or other occasion, so we didn’t get to enjoy the garden as much.

The hotel was well positioned just minutes from the beach, breakfast was beautiful with great choice off the menu. The room itself was a little dated however there was a brand new bathroom which was lovely. My only gripe were the pillows were a little hard so a choice with softer spares in the wardrobe would be a nice touch and the mirror in the room at the dresser was very small.

Getting a space in the carpark was a bit tricky. The bin in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned from previous guest but didn’t detract from my stay.

The room and the bed were both large for a single room. In fact the bed was more like a small double! And it was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom was exceptional. And though I prefer a shower to a bath it was nice to have both. And I was pleased to find a heated towel rail, which I have found to be unusual in hotels. Food was really good with good portions and well prepared. Breakfasts in particular were outstanding. Due to the hot weather during my stay I feared I would have trouble sleeping, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a fan at the bottom of the wardrobe, which helped greatly.

One small niggle. The washbasin kept leaking, and while shaving I had to top it up several times. I think it was because the plug was slightly too small.

1. No parking - states there is parking when booking. 2. Fan was rusty and old - needs replacing. 3. Rude lady at breakfast shouted at her colleague.

Reception on arrival was very poor. Subsequently….at 10.00pm…….the same member of staff was almost rude when we complained about the hammering and drilling we could hear in our room. We had virtually no privacy in our room that faced onto the garden which was being used for events. For this reason the window had to be closed for quiet and security reasons.

I need a full refund. As room29 as they said. “Should not be used when they have entertainment on. 1st night was a Jazz band till 22.00 The second notes a wedding till 24.00 We had no sleep. This room should NOT have been used at all. I have a partial refund I expect a full refund for bad communication. Not happy just got home to go to bed. Pamela

Breakfast was good, you could have full English if you wanted or just cereal or toast. The staff were always happy to please. The location of the hotel was about 1/2 a mile walk, you were able to go onto the beach, it’s a sandy beach & water quality was good.

The room was smaller than I thought, & it was very hot in the room, I would have thought that the hotel would have AC in the bedrooms, it was very hot outside so we had to keep the curtains closed. The parking wasn’t great, there’s only a few parking spaces outside & you’d be lucky if you got one, they have a overflow car park across the road but you’d also be lucky to park there too, while we were there they had 2 nights of proms so we were told that nobody is to park outside on the Wednesday or Thursday, we had to park in the car park which we had to pay for. Overall the hotel was expensive.

Breakfast was excellent- the best I have had in a hotel- fresh, quality ingredients, beautiful. Room was lovely, overlooking the canal and the garden area. Loved the facilities- library, private residents lounge and garden.

Situation right by canal. Our Room was The Turret which actually gave us 2 rooms and fab views. Breakfast was very nice, except comment below, as were evening meals.

My only negatives were that the coffee with breakfast was extremely weak and you had to make your own toast to go with any of the breakfast choices, which meant your hot breakfast was getting cold whilst you waited for your toast to cook. My husband and I like our coffee stronger. You could get an americano from bar around 10 am.

Beautiful location. We had a great room overlooking the canal. When I called the hotel they said we had a six foot bed which turned out to be five foot. Real disappointment that there is no car charger, really need to get with it. I was told there was a fast charger in a nearby car park, unfortunately there was only one which was out of order. There was another one in a nearby car park but when I googled it said no one could find it. Come on Falcon great hotel but you need to get up with the times.

A lovely hotel in a prime position. One of our favourites. Staff helpful and courteous and lovely and clean.

The new restaurant is out of our price range. Our room this time was at the back and we had kitchen noise. We will ensure we book a front facing room on our next visit.

upon arrival we were given a key and pointed towards the lift, no information about the facilities or even what time breakfast was or where it was, I had to ask for this information when I came back down froim the room to enquire about an iron and board,( not supplied in the room, we booked the suite, so no shortage of room) which I had to then take back up to the room from reception, whilst carrying my other bags. I asked about some information regards the hotel and area to be told it is in the file in your room, which we couldn't find, it is normally on the side in plain sight, no offer to tell us where it was or to replace it, we eventually found it in the bed side drawer. When we checked out I handed in the key, no real response, I asked if there was anything extra to pay, no, was the response, not even a question as to was the stay ok, did you enjoy the time here? zero. Overall, nice location, lovely waiting staff, very overpriced for what it was, first and last impressons, tepid.

Lovely all inclusive breakfast and well cooked. Gluten Free toast could have done with a bit more toasting and the coffee needed another desert spoon of coffee grounds. But other than that lovely place and lovely people working there.

We stay here regularly, relaxed atmosphere, with high standards, not an easy balance but done consistently. The history on the corridor walls is fascinating and captures the locality brilliantly.

The last time we stayed I was so disappointed that the sea was flat calm! I wanted to do a bit of body boarding and couldn’t. 😉 🤷🏼‍♂️🤙🏼 Come on guys.

asked for chips at 15.01 on Sunday at the bar and was told that they had stopped serving at 15.00. wife went to but another round of drinks at 15.20 and a group of regulars were served CHIPS.

Breakfast cooked to order was excellent. Dinner in the bar restaurant was excellent the portions were for the hearty eater. The room 11 was very large with an excellent on suite with great spa whirlpool bath and shower.

Great family run hotel. Fantatic position next to the canal, close to the sea lock. Lovely resident lounge adjoining the terraced garden complete with 2 historic stagecoaches. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed (and pillows!) overlooking the bridge and canal quay. Bathroom was very large with an excellent bath/shower. Staff were extremely helpful and the full English breakfast in the Tide'nTable restaurant was both generous and tasty. Highly recommend

As a long established hotel, the refurbishment of the building was very impressive and tasteful. The room was comfortable, spacious and with fresh air available and good tea / coffee selection. The food quality and choice was by far the most gratifying aspect of the stay

The bath spa lacked any instructions and was only used by trial and error. The quilt as common with most hotel rooms was far too thick and unbreathable - as a superior room a better quilt would have been appreciated or at least guests should have a choice. All the studies show being cool at night is essential for a good night sleep and far more hygienic
