This is very ,very good value for money and in a perfect location, the staff are so helpfull changed our room as it did not have a tv as older travalers we like our tv at night, nothing ever not any trouble, only disapointment our little pet , the autonatic hoover had a broken leg, well not realy a leg it was a wheel, get well soon lol, and a big thankyou to every one that made our stay so nice

Das Haus liegt im Zentrum der Stadt, gleichzeitig am Strand und trotzdem kann man ruhig schlafen. Das Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis ist unschlagbar! Von den Renovierungen, die aktuell laufen, war der Besuch nicht beeinträchtigt. Die frei zugängliche Küche zur Selbstversorgung konnte gut genutzt werden.

Ich war vom Frühstück etwas enttäuscht, weil es im Vergleich zum Preis und den Fotos nicht das geboten hat, was ich erwartet habe. Aber es war okay.

The toilet brushes don't fit the bottom of the bowls so they are dirty and they scratch all the toilets in the building Lots of idiots outside close to the building are very noisy. The beer was advertised for £5.50 It was £6.50 up me 2 pound I left my phone behind but could not phone the hostel directly very stressful especially with no vehicle access or drop off

Very close to the sea front which was lovely. The bar area was really cute as well, with lots of different games and activities which was nice to see. The bed was clean and comfy.

The noise levels were not great. We could hear everything and there was no noise cancelling at all. We were kept up til the early hours because of the noise. It was mostly clean, there was a dirty pillow case left on the window but it wasn’t that much of a big deal.

Was good value for money, the picture shown on booking .com is not how it looks at the moment as all the outside has scofolding around it and workman working on the building every day, and it looks like a hotel but it is a hostel but we as older people loved it so much we have booked to stay again

Great location! Faces the sea, you can see the pier from the windows. Close to the city centre and royal pavilion. Check in was fairly easy and I availed the late check out option at the desk. They upgraded me to a sea-facing double room for free which has a massive bathroom with a bath. The place can be noisy because of its location so be aware of that. Great value for money!

Mentioned earlier, the location may be ideal but you’ll have to compromise if you plan to sleep in late or want a quiet evening. As much as I’m grateful for the free upgrade. I prefer to have a shower head which was missing so taking a bath was a challenge. Lastly, there was some construction happening outside and while I was there some guy or staff just happened to open the door and walk in while I was fully undressed. They wanted to install something on the window but I told em to come later after I’ve checked out. It was a bit of an awkward exchange but all forgiven!

È il secondo anno che torno in questo ostello. Qui mi sento a casa. Sono tutti molto gentili e i servizi sono ottimi, si può utilizzare la cucina che è super fornita, puoi anche mettere la tua spesa in frigo con dei sacchetti personalizzati! C'è il forno, il fornello ad induzione, microonde etc etc! Top! L'atmosfera qui è tranquilla e sono tutti super chill, proprio un posto perfetto per un soggiorno breve ma anche lungo ☺️ Io ho dormito molto bene, i letti sono super comodi e ti forniscono douvet+ lenzuola. Niente di cui lamentarmi davvero, a due passi da tutto. Comodissimo! Sicuramente se torno a Brighton alloggerò qui senza ombra di dubbio. Grazie 🙏🏼

Everything authomatized, very quick check-in. People in the room were fabulous. Lifts working, clean bedroom sets, places for the rest near the kitchen. The girl on the reception was very nice and helped me with a bunk. Very tasty and chip coffee. During my staying there was cleaning twice.

O God, make your kitchen to work untill 11. It's so weird then you want to heat something and kitchen doesn't work. They can clean it at 7 am

Excellent dorm room--large, well set up, great lock boxes and ottomans, nice linens, good bathroom, helpful staff.

Maybe less chemical liquid soap in the bathrooms. Nothing really to complain about though since it's free :) but just feels like dish soap. Maybe some local artists' work on the walls and more snack style food in the bar area though I think they're revamping/rethinking that? Maybe another breakfast option.

I mitt jättestora dubbelrum fanns en stor dubbelsäng och en sorts klädhängare. Varken stol eller bord fanns trots att den tomma golvytan var enorm. Hela byggnaden är väldigt varm och det finns ingen AC. Det pågår renovering av byggnaden så det gick inte att se ut genom fönstren men det kan man ju inte göra mycket åt.

Locations right next to the beach

The noise from the hotel renovation construction. When the construction worker is walking around outside at 7:30 a.m., it's a shame the windows were so bad, as the room overlooked the main street. The soap dispensers in the bathroom weren't fully refilled.

Er waren werken aan het gebouw en ‘s ochtends stonden de werkmannen vroeg aan de gevel naast onze ramen te werken. Ze kwamen ook toen we nog sliepen kloppen om binnen de maten van de ramen op te meten. Ze waren wel vriendelijk maar was niet echt comfortabel. Het was ook warm waardoor we de ramen ‘s nachts moesten openzetten en gezien de centrale ligging was er heel veel lawaai (geroep van daklozen en dronken mensen).

Excellent location to Brighton pier and close to bus stops for the station. Large room with ensuite. Fan was a great help for the heat.

Bed was a fairly thin mattress - which was okay for a few nights but not the most comfortable. Had 2 windows but one barely opened which wasn’t helpful with the heat. The bathroom was exceptionally warm as had no real ventilation. Unsure about the heating/cooling system as it didn’t have instructions and didn’t seem to do very much when we did switch it on.

False marketing of the property. If I had known the hotel was covered in scaffolding, which impacted our break away, I would not have booked it. Disappointed by the expectation set by booking.com that was not met. The receptionist moved us to a different room, which was a bit better as we couldn't open a window in the first room. However the second room had no television but we were not even informed about this.

Bij het douchen overspoelt de hele badkamer. Bij de eerste keer douchen had ik dat niet door en daardoor waren al mijn spullen doorweekt. Daarnaast is door geluidsoverlast van de renovatie uitslapen niet echt mogelijk. Het matras is van plastic en daardoor ook niet echt comfortabel. Ook is de enige lamp in de kamer super fel. Dit is savonds niet echt fijn.

Amazing location, unreal. Close to the beach as well as city centre. Clean property, comfortable bed. Neighboring rooms could not be heard too much compared to other places I have stayed in the past.

Being told to make my own bed - never happened since 30 years ago. Thin pillow. Just st about ok mattress. No curtains around bed. Power point not on bedside unit. No locker for bags inside room. No discernible social atmosphere - though there’s a bar and evening music. No a/c. Noisy fans in dorms. Weird roommate - shower head not detachable making it difficult to clean bath or body. Not noisy or annoying, but building clad in perforated covering. It’s an old building and needs some tlc indoors too.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was awesome because it was right opposite the pier, I thought it was a real bargain and have decided when I return to Brighton it will be my go to 😁

There wasn’t anything really, the only critique I can think of is that the cards stop working to open the kitchen at 9pm and there were times I needed to get in there after that time so the staff opened the door for me. It’s understandable there needs to be a cutoff time so people aren’t banging pots around at 1 in the morning but perhaps that cut off time could be a little bit later say 10 or 11, but that’s the only thing I can think of!

Świetna lokalizacja. Uprzejmość (miałam problem z rejestracją przez kod QR i umożliwiono mi tradycyjny meldunek). Czysto w pokoju i łazience, codzienne sprzątanie.

Bardzo duszno i gorąco w pokoju. Mały lufcik okienny do uchylenia. Utrudniał dostęp do świeżego powietrza i uniemożliwiał wietrzenie. Poduszkę i kołdrę dostałam kolejnego dnia (być może przez meldunek w środku nocy). Jako że było gorąco tej, to wystarczyła mi do przykrycia pościel.

They were showing the world cup football every match down in the bar with a discount on drinks so that was very handy.

Maybe adding some privacy curtains to the beds might be better.

Very disappointing stay – not worth the money Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and definitely not worth the money we paid for one night. First of all, the room was nothing like the photos shown on Booking.com. Our window did not face the sea at all; it faced the main street. From around 10 PM until 4 AM, we were unable to sleep because there were people outside shouting, swearing, arguing and causing a lot of noise. It sounded like some of them were drunk and behaving badly. What made it even worse was that nobody from the hotel reception did anything about it, and there seemed to be no one available to deal with the situation. We could not get a proper night's sleep until around 4 AM. The room didn't even have a single bottle of water, despite the very warm weather. Considering how much we paid for one night, the hotel simply did not provide good value for money. The breakfast was another major disappointment. Despite being advertised as a "good breakfast", it was very poor and, more importantly, did not look hygienic. The cold hams, cheese and other food were left uncovered on trays, and there were flies sitting on the food.when I told them they just said"Oh yeah"! And they didnt cover it at all! We did not feel comfortable eating it at all, so we had to leave the hotel and buy food elsewhere. Overall, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I honestly regret spending this much money for just one night here. The experience was very disappointing, and in my opinion, it is simply not worth it to book a room here.

Falsely advertised on booking.com as a hotel. No facilities in bed room as was a hostel No sea views as advertised, Couldn't see out of or open a window. No car park as, advertised. Disturbed 4 times throughout the night by a couple rowing until past 4am. Apparently staff unaware despite being 24/7 reception. Awaiting a response from booking.com as put in a formal complaint.

The location was brilliant, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I can't speak for all the rooms, but 206 was really poor. Tiny window that opens only 2 inches to an external corridor, air-conditioning did not work, just a fan provided to churn the stifling air around the room. The toilet bowl was dirty, no stopper in the sink and the shower gel / shampoo dispenser was empty. The bed was a thin rubber mattress on a metal cot, with the duvet cover, sheet and pillow case left to be put on by the guest. The luggage room was across the hall, constant traffic and door banging. I understand this is a hostel, but I stayed in a&o London Docklands in March and I was so impressed with it that I specifically chose a&o Brighton to stay in, expecting the same service. The London premises was a fully serviced room, the bed was made, the facilities immaculate. It is hard to believe both properties are run by the same company, such was the difference. The price to service ratio was also way off kilter. 332 euro for 2 nights, for a metal cot that the guest has to dress themselves is overpriced. I worked in hospitality for many years, and understand that prices vary with weekends such as this, and that service can falter during busy times, it's human error and perfectly understandable. This is the first negative review I have ever given a premises. If the reader of this can access my previous feedback in the London location, it is a positive review. I'm not a Keyboard Karen looking for compensation or apologies, simply giving my opinion on how it can be improved. I notice the building is undergoing extensive exterior renovations and hope this extends to the interior. As I said previously, I chose a&o Brighton due to my positive experience in London, but I won't be taking the chance of a repeat experience of Brighton a&o in another premises. To end on a positive note, the staff were really helpful, polite and friendly, and are a major asset in an otherwise disappointing experience. Thanks for your time.

- topligging: dikke 20 minuten wandelen van het station, maar vlakbij de Royal Pavillion, de pier en de zee - vriendelijk personeel - gratis bagageruimte - is een hostel met slaapzalen, maar er zijn ook privé kamers. Ik had er eentje voor twee personen, heel basic ingericht maar heel ruim en proper. En leuk tijdens een hittegolf: een ferme ventilator op de kamer. En ook een bonus - beetje belemmerd door de steigers door werken aan de gevel - vanuit mijn kamer zag ik een stuk van de pier en de zee (kamer nr 107). - ontbijtbuffet voor 11 pond: niet zo uitgebreid, maar oké, zowel warm als koud aanbod en je kan je eigen pannenkoekjes maken

- door de hitte met raam open slapen, vlak er tegenover pub/café waar er veel lawaai was tot een stuik in de nacht van zaterdag op zondag, de nacht van zondag op maandag wel pak stiller, maar dan werd op maandagmorgen om 5u de glasbak geleegd, soit, toch genoeg geslapen hoor
