The restaurant at the hotel, the breakfast was great but we ordered dinner the night before and if I had known would never have eaten there. Do not recommend the restaurant.

The location suited us well as we were travelling back to Edinburgh after visiting the west coast and parking was easy. The room was well appointed with facilities for making hot drinks etc. but also the convenience of the bar and restaurant of the hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent in quality and value for money and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in (I'm 64) Not only is it next to a busy main road and railway, but it has some very serious problems with it's plumbing. The pipes literally scream and vibrate like they are going to explode. The structure is wooden, so every footsteps and movement can be heard.

We couldnt open our window cause the kitchen extraction fan was pointed towards it so all that smell came into our room. Room was a bit dated. Shower was clogged. We expected a better experience to be honest

Das Hotel ist ein toller Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg Richtung Glencoe. Das Personal ist fantastisch.

Die Einrichtung ist etwas älter, aber dennoch gemütlich.

All exactly what we wanted and needed with 2 black lads as a break in the journey from Cape Wrath to Yorkshire. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and the dogs, one a very recent rescue to us, were pampered and made so welcome that their feelings were reflected in ours, and we felt treated over and above any normal expectation of other hotels and it was brilliant. We will be back.

The shower for ended up very wet each time

I trod on my daughters toe and broke her toe nail. We had no nail scissors. The woman who was at reception called her husband to get him to bring her nail scissors and a plaster from her home. What amazing service. A very kind person!

it rained at night and the noise was pretty bad as the guttering must have overflowed or leaked and it battered down onto our window ledge

The service - really poor. We had about £20k+ worth of road bikes and asked where we could store them. We had cycled in on them. They said we couldn’t and had to leave them outside. We are cycling from lands end to John o groats, every hotel, lodge, inn etc have been so helpful here but this was a computer says no situation. Very frustrating. We would have put them in our rooms after cleaning them but this was not allowed either Usually when accommodation is pokey and creaky the staff make up for it with helpfulness and character. Not here/

Das Bad ist in einem schlechten Zustand, kein Platz gefährlich beim Duschen, die Badtüre ist nicht einmal 60cm breit Gestank durch Küchenbelüftung übers Zimmerfenster, Belüftungsanlage sehr laut Ein Hotelpersonal ist derart unverschämt und hat Probleme mit Deutschen..

It is a good location for breaking our journey northwards through Scotland. We enjoyed a large and very comfortable room. Facilities and decor were high quality and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast and staff very pleasant and check in staff helpful and efficient even when we arrived late.

The morning receptionist was a bit dour, didn’t bother asking if I’d had a pleasant stay. A complete contrast to hotel staff on continent. The shower was either scalding hot or cold, and difficult to find an happy medium, and blasted out like a fireman’s hose, which was an awful waste of water and heating.

It looked cared for- both the exterior and interior . I liked the exterior planting, hanging baskets and then on entering the hotel the pictures / photos about the place.

Some of the indoor plants are in the wrong locations for type of species- or perhaps too much /too little water- this comment applies in particular to the palm at reception and mothers tongue in bar area. The plastic plants on first floor balcony should be replaced by a real ficus

De ligging vlakbij het West-Highlandtrail en zeer centraal om de doorsteek van oost- naar west-Schotland te overbruggen met een tussenstop. Het restaurant en bar waren aangenaam en de gerechten OK. Het personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

De kamer (222) was de afknapper: een te klein en ongemakkelijk bed, wat wij noemen ‘een twijfelaar’. Voor een koppel eigenlijk te klein. Het voltapijt was een stofverzamelaar en langs de plinten werd het kuisen niet te nauw genomen. Het overgordijn hing volledig scheef. De badkamer was net OK, was het niet dat er een grote schimmelvlek naast de douche zat waardoor de hele kamer muf rook. Geen verwarming in de badkamer. Het was een kille en vochtige omgeving.

Abbiamo usufruito dell'hotel solo per poche ore, poiché a causa di aerei soppressi e ritardi accumulati siamo arrivati a destinazione solo alle 23,30. Sono stati davvero gentili, ci hanno accolto nonostante l'ora tarda senza problemi. L'hotel si trova in un'ottima posizione per chi deve affrontare un viaggio on the road. Colazione ottima, cornetti, cereali, frutta fresca, con yogurt e latte, ma si può usufruire della cucina e gustare una vera colazione scozzese. Letto molto comodo. Temperatura ottimale, camera ampissima.

Volendo essere precisi quando ho fatto la doccia arrivava a volte acqua fredda, ma non abbiamo nemmeno avuto il tempo di segnalarlo perché l'indomani eravamo già in viaggio nuovamente.

The location is an excellent stop off point for a range of nearby activities such as visiting the Lochs, mountains, Skyfall road or skiing in the winter. The views in the surrounding areas are stunning too and there is a train station and Londis shop very near. The room was comfortable enough with all of the usual facilities you’d expect. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Everything was fine, just some of the decor is a bit tired and dated.

Friendly staff, very attentive, very accommodating when it came to booking an early male in the restaurant. Overall some of the best hotels staff I have dealt with in a long time.

In all honesty, I don't have any complaints at all.

Expérience mitigée. On nous a attribué une première chambre qui n’était vraiment pas terrible. Très vieillissante, mobilier vétuste, et pas super clean… pas du tout en corrélation avec le prix payé pour la nuit. Cependant nous avons été entendu et une deuxième chambre bien mieux nous a été attribué. Bien plus moderne, et propre. Par contre, la partie restauration et petit déjeuner, super ! Nous nous sommes régalés. Toute l’équipe de l’hôtel est aussi très accueillante et agréable.

La proximité de la route, très bruyante, et la première chambre attribuée vraiment pas super.

We kwamen hier onverwacht terecht met onze twee Schotse collies. We zijn ontzettend gastvrij ontvangen en geen moeite was teveel. Erg fijne ongedwongen sfeer, en ook rustig. De medewerkers zijn allemaal heel vriendelijk. Het was ook heel fijn dat we hier prima konden eten, de keuken staat goed bekend en dat is ook terecht. Als je met honden reist: aan de overkant van de straat loop je via een mooi paadje direct naar de rivier, waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen. De omgeving is natuurlijk ook helemaal fantastisch hier. Een dikke pluim voor dit fijne hotel! Wij komen zeker terug als we weer eens in de buurt zijn.

The evening meal. I had chicken supreme and I expected a cream sauce instead It was served with a thin drizzle of dressing over the plate. The potato was the size of scone cutter and the dark green cabbage was so tough you couldn’t even cut it never mind chew it. Costing £20.95 it wasn’t worth it.

The were three standout things, the staff were first. Excellent attention to detail and customer service, really 1st class. The second and third were the meals we had, dinner and breakfast. Our evening meal was very good indeed and a lot better than some more pricey places we have stayed recently. The standout was breakfast which was exceptional at this price point and puts a great many hotels (most, in fact) to shame. We came away very impressed indeed.

We cannot think of anything that could have been much better; there was nothing that we did not like.

The staff was super friendly. The property was clean and well maintained. It was good they had an onsite restaurant as there was no other food close by. The food in the restaurant was good, not exceptional, but good. They had a great little area to sit and play some gin rummy also.

There was no AC, but opening the window and using a fan sufficed.

The food at the hotel was good and reasonably priced. Our room viewed a grassy bank with a quiet railway line on top but as we didn't pay extra for a Mountain View this was fine, staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our car there for a week while we went on a cycle tour.

There was a loud vent just outside our window so we had to keep the window closed which meant it was a little too warm.

Dinner and breakfast attention was good.

Receptionist on arrival had a bad attitude. We originally had a reservation for the previous night but for unexpected circumstances we tried to postpone for one day and were notified by internet that they was no availablity. After losing the reservation (and full cost) we requested a new reservation for the next night and suddenly there was availabilty! So we ended up paying double. We told the receptionist about this hoping for some consideration, in some form or other, but his attitude was very disparaging and he simply dismissed us like garbage!

The hotel is nice. The food at the restaurant is great, especially the Thai green curry. But best of all the staff is juat lovely and helpful. Shout out Liam and Izzie especially. The drying room is also great for getting your wet hiking gear ready for the next day. A great place to crash

Ok for one night stay

Booked breakfast for 8am was a bit late and was told off by senior staff (seriously) and had to wait for some time before being attended to - not happy the way we were treated! Had just finished 14 day tour of the Highlands and stayed in many hotels with breakfast and never treated like this. Guests should be told when booking a time for breakfast they have to be on time as people are fairly easy going when on holiday.
