Staff friendly helpful. See below complaint. The hotel itself is an old building in country side setting within a few minutes of the town centre. Rooms are comfortable with comfy seating

Unfortunately went into an empty restaurant for lunch by the time our lunch arrived the whole restaurant had been served before ourselves. At around 8:30 pm on the second night the cold water stopped running and we where unable to flush the toilet and had to use the public toilets on the ground floor. We where given, on asking, a discount on the account.

We slept so well, I always struggle to sleep on a first night away from my bed but it didn’t happen.

Towels in one of our rooms were thin and unsatisfactory. But they were changed. More price options for breakfast would be good.

Position of hotel, Parking, Dinner was excellent. Didn't have breakfast- staff were knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly.

Room was tired, no decent fresh air as window had fire escape so couldn't leave open during the night. Cold water tap, running warm water when turned open. door to bathroom banged every time it was shut or opened

Everything was to a high standard, bed was very comfortable we had a lovely spacious room. The staff were fabulous we felt so welcomed and they were all very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

Very comfortable beds. Quiet place with good food, breakfast was great. The historical building was beautiful as were the grounds.

Had a noisy room (26) and brought this up, I was offered another room instantly and it was perfect. Couldn't have asked for anything more

Very comfortable king sized bed, lively silky soft sheets. Ability to open windows for fresh air. Quiet location, on site free carparking. 5min drive into cirencester town centre, with great dining options. 4 min drive to waitrose shop. Easy driving distance to some fascinating attractions such as the 4th century Roman Villa ruins, St John Baptist Church, market square and city centre. Lovely toiletries in the rooms, able to be purchased from reception.

Minimal communication regarding any offerings on site except the spa... eg saw people having tea and scones? outside the restaurant area in the afternoon, didn't realise this was an option. Spa offerings were very pricey. Difficulty parking on arrival due to a private event... no specific guest parking area.

Un meraviglioso soggiorno in una struttura molto bella ed accogliente. Camere molto confortevoli, parcheggio gratuito all'interno ma personale di sala non molto attento alle esigenze del cliente e piu' in generale distratto. Peccato perche' una struttura del genere avrebbe bisogno di un personale piu' qualificato.

The room was very small and, unfortunately, didn’t feel worth the money.

Staff were all helpful, especially check-in/out. Dinner was pretty good, well presented, nice staff.

Nothing much negative to say. Room was well equipped with modern bathroom/shower. It’s an older style building so no A/C but our room had a powerful fan. Didn’t try the spa or breakfast due to time constraints.

A beautiful hotel, really well maintained and decorated with lovely grounds. Food in the restaurant and at breakfast was very good. All staff we met were wonderful. An ideal spot to explore Cirencester and the surrounding area. We didn't use the spa facilities, but it all looked amazing. Very useful EV charger available as well!

Tutto bon organizzato, ottima posizione e location antica ma funzionale. All’arrivo abbiamo avuto un piccolo inconveniente con il bagno, in meno di 5 min ci avevano già dato una nuova e grandissima stanza. Tutto ottimo!

Lack of a lift to get to the 2nd floor meant 2 flights of long stairs carrying suitcases. Lack of helpfulness in the dining area.

Clean and easy to navigate

All good nothing wrong about staff and building but found the food a little expensive and the drinks very stingy measures

Showered overflowed out of the tray twice I did tell reception on our way out, but later that day when we returned the top for the waste was still off so I'm guessing no one checked it. Also when we returned on another dayout there was no fresh water bottles and the sweetners hadn't been Replaced. This may seem trivial but it's our short break we shouldn't have to keep going to reception. I had also sent a short message to the Hotel before we arrived but sadly no response so I'm not sure it was even read.

The staff members were so nice and the atmosphere of the hotel was lovely. I also loved their breakfasts.

Clean and spacious rooms. The building has lots of character as well. Helpful staff as well. For people driving, it's not that far from Cirencester.

The main issue was the hotel breakfast. It wasn't bad, but three people from my family got food poisoning from their breakfast. We didn't eat anything for the rest of the day, so it all points to the hotel food. So maybe they need better hygiene for handling food

Nice set up, but it really depends on your room.

Had a small double, which was inboard with frosted window, so limited light and no view. The room is adjacent the kitchen so until 11pm you hear plates, cutlery and bins, noise starts at 6.30am. Very unpleasant.

Beautiful setting and well maintained grounds and restaurant & bar. Staff were also very helpful and polite.

The bedrooms need a little refresh. I moved a few times as the hotel was quiet. Some of the rooms are a bit dark and dingy, with views of the roof and bins. Also no ventilation in a heatwave.

The location and a big parking

When we arrived we were informed we were 1 day late while we updated our arrival date in February. It confused us a while. But we got an upgrade. When we opened the windows we noticed the frames were not cleaned

We held our company summer party at Stratton House Hotel and couldn't have asked for a better venue! The food was absolutely amazing, with plenty of compliments from everyone who attended, and was fantastic value for money. The venue itself was beautiful and created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. We'd highly recommend Stratton House Hotel for anyone looking to host a corporate event or special occasion. Thanks again to Hallie and the team for making it such a memorable evening!

I thought the food was a bit average The hot breakfast comes out to your table with no toast So you then have to go and toast it yourself, which is fine, but by the time you get back to your table your hot breakfast is cold

The public rooms were beautiful.

The bedroom had seen better days (and this was a complimentary upgrade). The room was hot and stuffy despite a fan (though there was a heatwave) Breakfast was ordinary and not very inspired. Like most hotels, Stratton cannot cook scrambled eggs and served up dry crumbly yellow stuff.

The Hotel is lovely in a fabulous setting. The staff are friendly and the bar and restaurant are both really nice, the food is excellent.

We liked the house itself, a nice historic building and well maintained. We loved the lounge to sit in and the bar was convenient and the staff helpful. The garden was lovely to walk round and to relax. We liked our bedroom and the bed extremely comfortable. Altogether we enjoyed our short stay and would go again.

Booked and paid for a family room for our Son's wedding. Room was fine and we had a lovely stay. Upon our return home we had been charged an extra £20 for a bed for our Grandchild who stayed in our room on a sofa bed. I would like to know why this charge was added which we were never told about or agreed to.

With the exception of a nice man on reception when we arrived and a very nice lady on reception when we left, the staff weren’t great. One young woman in the bar ‘Matty’ was verging on rude and very unhelpful. She was not really up to the job.

This hotel sets itself as a luxury spa retreat. In fact, when you arrive, you find a rather down at heel, scruffy hotel, with the hotel corridors smelling of cleaning chemicals, and our room smelling even more strongly because a bottle of glass cleaner and an old rag had been left in there. These smells made us feel unwell. They had been completely unhelpful during the booking process, and that should have been our warning. We had a party of four, and they had been completely unable to accommodate putting a put up bed in our room for my son, so we had reluctantly been forced to split the party in a way that did not suit us. We were also unfortunate enough to arrive on a very hot day. Our room was so hot that sweat was pouring down us just sitting there. A single small pedestal fan was all that was available for cooling, and had zero effect. This hotel is so bad that we literally checked ourselves out an hour after arriving, walking away from the money that we had paid for two nights stay in two rooms. Yes, that bad. Money down the drain, but better than staying here. The front desk person was disinterested and unhelpful, no refund for a late cancellation, even for the second night. Overall feeling of couldn’t give a monkey’s.

We booked to stay here for 2 nights with our dog while on a small holiday to the cotswolds. The hotel is lovely, the room was spacious, the bathroom was small but nice, great shower pressure. They left a little complimentary dog treat hamper which we and the dog loved! We had a good night sleep and breakfast on the first morning was delicious. The dog got a complimentary sausage for her breakfast too which she enjoyed! We had to leave too early the 2nd morning for breakfast but we were able to sort out checkout the evening before with no issues. We werent able to use any of the spa facilities as we had the dog and only used this hotel as a base for our day trips, but i would happily come back again with or without the dog and stay here again if we are in the cotswolds again

The WiFi SUCKs - could not get reliable wifi or mobile reception in my room so for a business hotel - unacceptable. No gym or laundry service either which makes longer stays a challenge.

Lovely Cotswold hotel that was clean, comfortable and well maintained.

Our second visit t this hotel, we went the same time last year, not such a good experience this time. On arrival the Receptionist insisted we still owed part payment of our stay, the full amount had been taken by them 2 days before our arrival. The amount was £110, a substantial amount. She was quite rude, insisted I check with my bank, offered no apology for their mistake, grudgingly accepted and said she'd corrected but when I checked out 3 days later I was presented with the same bill! Something very wrong somewhere.i suggest anyone visiting check their bill carefully. We had our dog with us so our room.was at the back overlooking the bins, not where we were last year. Our TV in our room wasn't tuned in so.my husband couldn't watch the football. The staff around were very hard working , so much so that the friendly feel of the hotel has definitely changed. Shame because its a lovely place, the food is good, it's got beautiful gardens. Not sure what's gone wrong.

The shower was slightly faulty, but it was still usable. However, the bathtub in the room was amazing. Coffee machine would not pierce the capsules properly I'm not sure if it’s just me but I could not figure this out. I understand that the spa is small compared to the hotel and that this may justify a higher price, but I feel it is a bit expensive for access alone without any treatments included.

The reception went above and beyond and were extremely friendly . We stayed as going to a wedding nearby they managed to have 1 room ready early for us to change in for which we were very grateful . We had a cooked breakfast . There were 5 of us and the meals all came at the same time and high quality produce
